What I have come to notice when watching C-dramas is the lack of women being represented as strong or accomplished. They always seem to be so senseless, and honestly I can't handle watching female leads portrayed as stupid. This is just my personal experience though. However I can gladly say that the female lead is strong, sticks to her values, has clear goals, but at the same time is relatable and likeable. She is not easily manipulated allowing the audience to experience the great chemistry with the male lead, while also bringing light hearted moments. They feed off each other and it makes great viewing. They deliver the angst, the drama and the romance. The chemistry between the two main leads is incredible.
Not only do the leads have a great story and chemistry, but the supporting actors also deliver quality side stories and pairings. Most of the time when I watch a drama I either like the side story with the supporting actors, or the main leads story. With About Is Love, I'm equally invested in all 3 pairings and their individual stories. The chemistry between all the actors is stunning, and you can't not get invested in the story.
Though the overall theme of the show a CEO with OCD has been told many times, I think that the cast is what is really making this drama stand out and not be considered cliche. I have watched a few episodes of Want To See You Smile with the same themes of the male lead having OCD and unable to have physical contact with anyone, but I could never get into it. The chemistry between the actors wasn't there for me. The relationship of all the characters and the chemistry is really what makes "About is Love" great for me.

I can't stand how the male lead, Wei Qing, continuously manipulates the female lead. His actions are indefensible and go too far, again and again, but I continued on because the female lead, Zhou Shi, has a backbone. She calls him out on it and those scenes were very satisfying. She is gullible and not the brightest, but she stands up for herself and sticks to her principles. But then he toys with her again. I find him to be very condescending, and as their relationship changes throughout the drama, including an employer-employee relationship, there is always a power imbalance with him having the upper hand. She even says this at one point - but waaay too late in the drama for it to be developed upon. Even near the end, he has his assistant lie to her! Also, she is an art student but for most of the drama I felt like I didn't know what her own goals were.
The conflict with the male lead's mother felt too contrived. Her words were so harsh and every time they show the flashbacks I cringed. It's not that I don't believe a mother can hate her own son, but I just never felt like I understood it. There are also scenes that are completely nonsensical - for example, when the Wei Qing's uncle invites all his ex-girlfriends to the fancy business event. And it seemed like they didn't know how to fill the episodes at the end and decided to totally change Zhang Shuai's character to add an obstacle?? There were also certain storylines that were underdeveloped or just abruptly ended.
On a positive note, I liked the friendship between Zhou Shi, Fei Fei, and Qiu Jing. They are very different individuals but genuinely supportive of each other. Fei Fei and Qiu Jing gave Zhou Shi good advice and were honest with their concerns. Ming Cheng was also rather condescending to Zhou Shi (or maybe just treated her like a little sister), but I do like Qiu Jing and Ming Cheng's pairing. I didn't really care for the Fei Fei and Ning Fei pairing because, either because of his casting or wardrobe, he came across as a helpless, sheltered child too much.
Regarding the OST, upon further consideration, I do like the songs, it's just that I didn't like the drama so I don't think of the songs particularly fondly.

THE WRITER SHOULD BE SUED
When writing a story, you have to put certain things into consideration like where you want your story to head or where you want it to center but the writer of this show decided to disregard all these points and wrote like a foolnow lets start to pinpoint the problems I had with this (i don't like long reviews and i hate spoilers so I would make this quick)
- the fact that the main leads hated themselves halfway in the series
-the fact that they were not sure what they were at the end
-the horrible acting
-the annoying female lead (like my gush this bitch is dumb)
-the unnecessary story
-the messy storyline (how can you bring up an issue that was supposed to be resolved using 2 episodes you decided to do it under 5 minutes like what is the point)
-the moving back and forth (like bitch stick to one thing)
-the boring romance (if we are being honest, I do not think what they did could be considered as romance)
but then I thought the writer could realize their mistakes and make it all work towards the end but nooooooo. they said let's leave it as it is, let's fuck up this drama (like what the fuck is wrong with you)
to all who are seeing this please do not bother wasting your time to watch this
but if you are someone like me who don't like dropping shows please feel free
I still don't get why this show has an 8 point rating (i am so disappointed)

As for this drama i was bit disappointed first of all the 30 Episodes were not needed to depict this kind of story. It was utterly slow & boring but yes at certain times was fun to watch, funny too. Actors in this show did a good job they were meant to do this kind of acting due to the story but if u want to ask me was it there best, i would say nope.
Kind of mixed feelings.
It's a show which is not bad for watching but if somebody wants to rewatch it then i would say No hell, not a good choice.

Anyways, if we are talking about the story, I didn't find it entertaining that much. Maybe because I don't like the acting of both main leads. I like the story of the other characters more. But personally, I really like Lin Fei Fei and Bi Qui Jing. Their characters radiates '🌟Girl Boss🌟'.
I'll just give it a 4.5/10. Even in the start of the story, I did not like it.

Regardless, they should still be well-made. Let me tell you why I gave this a very low score.. BECAUSE the plot is all over the place that I could no longer turn a blind eye on it.
It started off really great, it has sooo much potential. Plus the actors are a pure delight to watch. It was funny, really great chemistry between friends but the good things ended there. It seems that eye candy actors did not work out this time for me.
It was not able to sustain the vibe it gave in the first 10 episodes. Surely, there were still some sweet moments but it lacked that "awww'' factor I always look for in a good romcom. Although the character build up was really good, the character themselves are not. I often got annoyed by the social climber friend, uncaring mother (the most uncaring mom in dramaland I suppose) and the gullible nonsense female lead. The most interesting character is sister genius because she's the only character that has sense in this drama.
I had to skip a lot of parts and one whole episode (hint: reviewing/ revising). It can be shortened to 20 episodes and that's even long for this drama. All in all, it's a tad below in my standard of mediocre. I gave it a 7.5 as it's still fun to watch because of the sweet scenes. I know a lot of fans of this drama will disagree with me but it's just an honest opinion.

Positives: the male lead is not so mean, family dynamic is different, the friendships were awesome.
Negatives: cliche, poor closure, chemistry is off, FL was a college student that seemed very childlike when dealing with issues (ex: running off when someone she likes, likes someone else. Add this with the other poor decision making skills).
. And my most hated thing: evil/hateful person for 27 of 30 episodes forgiven in 5 seconds without consequences. Unanswered issues.
It’s not awful but not great. I can’t recommend this as a romantic series. If you prefer strong FL, I will say she has some attributes but not enough to count. If you want a smart and mature FL you won’t like it. Like I said her personality seems extremely childlike. Male lead was arrogant, but redeemable. He was mature.

much connected to the story that when I realised that it is going to over I feel very sad but as well as more curious to know what will be going to happen next. Talking about the cast I really like Wei Qing ( Saixixi) and Zho Shi (XuXiaNuo) but Xiao Fie( CaiYiJia) and Lin Fie Fie(YangXinYing) was also awesome.
It has 30 episode but I thought it was quite less bacause I want some more episodes but it's not like that the story wasn't over , story was over but I want some more .
If you guys want to watch a romantic story which has its own story behind it, so I definitely recommend you guys this drama.
You may watch this drama with eng sub on wetv and aa well as on you tube.
