This drama is so underrated for being one of the best I’ve ever seen. It has a little bit of everything, comedy, drama, friendship, and one of the most touching romances ever. I admit I was skeptical at first because I didn’t feel Chen Zhe Yuan and Dong Qing would be a match, but the characters work so beautifully together and have great chemistry.

Unlike most Asian dramas, they actually act like they love each other. They are very touchy and the female lead actually admits her attraction to the male lead. The characters are all quite unique and interesting.

There are some twists and turns, some angst, and the most adorable male lead of all. Acting is on point, especially Chen Zhe Yuan. He totally became Zhen Jun and brought him to life. I cried and suffered and smiled and felt happy with him. I don’t cry watching dramas, but dang, this boy ripped out my heart. Anyone who has ever said anything negative about his acting, know that during the filming of this he got so into character during a dramatic/sad scene that he actually passed out. That’s dedication.

I highly recommend giving this a try. The music is amazing. And the opening sequence and song are so good I could just sit watching it on repeat. I’m going to miss this drama so much.

I started watching this drama because of Chen Zhe Yuan and I was not disappointed. Although I wasn’t really interested in the female lead at first but I thought she did ok after finishing the last episode. The beginning of the drama had a lot of funny moments and in the later episodes it starts to become more serious and sad. The ending will definitely make you cry so don’t go watching it at night, but you can conclude that it’s a happy ending. I highly recommend this drama if you’re interested in dramas that have a time traveling storyline.

Quirky Time Travel Action Comedy Historical Modern Crime Thriller Tragic Rom Com

That's right! The title is not a mistake. This drama suffers from a case of trying to be everything to everyone at all times, which leads to some stuff getting muddled. It got slow towards the middle but the ending cements this as a truly memorable drama.

It starts off as the typical fish out of water story of the ML Zhen Jun (Chen Zhe Yuan) who is supposed to have died in Historical China, but is saved and wakes up in contemporary Modern Day China 1800 years later, meeting the FL Zhen KeYi (Dong Qing) who he has an instant connection to since she looks like his half brother! The man out of time ends up living in Zhen Ke Yi's house, and it's revealed he has "super" powers plus he's insanely cute once he gets a modern haircut.

All the acting is good, even if the budget isn't there and some parts look cheap especially the stunt doubles , special effects and dubbing. The chemistry between the ML and FL and secondary male and female leads, is palpable and realistic. They do look like they are a real couple who really care about each other! So the entire rom com part is very well done, and the romantic song is moving and fits the story.

Bonus Cat-meos: The starting parts have 2 really beautiful cats making cameos whenever it's set in Zhang Keyi's apartment. Soooo cute. Cat-meos were done better by the cats than by the food, which did not look appetizing at all.

Halfway through the show takes on a more crime thriller X-files type vibe as it turns out there's a tragic story behind why Zhen Jun ended up in suspended animation for 1800 years! And why the 3rd male lead is protecting him! As the flashbacks continue more and more is revealed and in modern day the supporting characters end up doing things too! Talk about a complete turn around.

The last part is straight up tragic drama when the final plot twists are revealed. The last 2 episodes are some of the most sad, romantic stuff ever filmed, guaranteed to move the toughest heart. I admit I actually cried a bit and after the ending I upgraded this series from a 6 to a 8. This drama has something for everyone and is one of the more surprisingly good things I'll remember watching in 2020.

A fantasized realistic time travel drama went totally on point!

First of all, for the ones who watch dramas for fluffy, light and sweet romance, this one is not for you as you won't be able to digest it and may drop it in between. And for those who watch dramas for story, content and learnings.. This is a must watch or I would say,if you missed this masterpiece even being a content lover then you are not a true content lover!
I started watching it just for a soul reason - CHEN ZHEYUAN!!! I had already watched 3 of his dramas and he is pure TALENT and his good looks are just cherry on the cake.. After watching this one, I can surely say one thing about him is, he doesnt pick up a scipt just for being in the show bussiness or just for doing work, his choice of script is soo on point always that it shows how much he loves his job and how much he really wants to deliver some good content to the audience along with making them laugh and love with his own magic!
Talking about overall drama, Though being a fictional drama it does not convey that is impossible to digest! A layman can surely belief what they have shown with all possible logic behind every unbelievable incident, be it living of zhen jun and Si Long for 1800+ years, No reincarnation like shit, or the Love story.
Well, The FL did a great job with both the roles but when it came to catching up with the romantic chemistry with CZY, there was something lacking. ( might be because I am CZY fan and loved his chemistry with Liang jie in Handsome Siblings and Rainbow Xu in Our secrets). I just could not accept both of them being a couple eventhough the writers did great job in writing their love story and both of them also did great performance but yes the 8 years difference between them in real was somewhere visible!
I would highly recommend this one who wants to watch it for CZY! Be ready to dive in more deeper ocean of love for CZY!!!

I'll give this drama a 6/10. Though I didn't like the story that much, the story is still good, just not that catchy. I also like the acting of the female lead, she nailed the characters that she portray. And I also like the ending. The first Chinese drama that I've watched this 2021 where the ending scene satisfied me. Even though its not a ‘happy' one, I still like it.

The only thing that I don't like here in this drama is the action scenes, it doesn't look convincing to me. Every time the girl will get in to trouble the male lead will come, even though she can do it alone. That's the only thing I hate in this drama.
