I admit I'm extremely biased for giving such an average drama such a perfect score, but if I don't then who will? It's not complex and it's definitely not too well thought out. It doesn't do anything new and it doesn't try too hard as a drama either. Which is exactly why you should watch it.
Had a bad day? Your own real life romance not going how imagined it would? Work/ school is hard? Then you shouldn't watch another drama about a pair of star crossed lovers who aren't allowed to be together ( although I do like those a lot) and you for sure don't need to watch that drama where two people keep on misunderstading and hurting each other. You don't need to. Not just yet. Just watch these 12 episodes and you'll feel better. Maybe I just got lucky and watched this very normal drama at a very correct time and place and setting of my life ( A time where I needed such lightness) but I hope that happens to you aswell...

PLOT: Superficial and light-hearted
--------------------------------------------------------------
The story is simple, straightforward and pretty light-hearted. Which means the narrative barely touches the surface of the problems the protagonists are presented with. A few plot points even got abandoned with no explanation; a staple of lazy writing coupled with unmet ambition and an unclear story structure.

However, every now and then we need a drama that doesn't ask anything from us. A drama we can binge watch when we're tired and just want to have a good time. So if you're in the mood for a short and simple drama, this is a decent enough choice.

MAIN CHARACTERS: Fun but shallow
--------------------------------------------------------------
The three leads are and remain two-dimensional. Though some characters (essentially Ma Sung Tae, the male lead) earn some growth, it's really not enough to add real complexity. However, the lack of character depth fits the lighthearted tone of the show. Keep in mind that, precisely because the characters are shallow, the acting (or lack thereof) won't really leave much of an impression.

Kang Cho Hong (female lead played by Yoon So Hee): She's cute, has power-infused charm, physical strength (provided by magic) and a generous heart. She's also naïve and immature, with the rules of her powers forcing her to be dependant on "finding love". Thankfully, her charms supersede her immaturity, leaning her towards a likable --albeit very flawed lead.

Ma Sung Tae (male lead played by Hyun Woo): Though he's an interesting character, it does take a while to get used to the actor. Take that with a grain of salt since whether you enjoy his acting depends on your personal taste. While some of us found his acting wooden and awkward, others loved him and swooned at his scenes. That said, Sung Tae is a chaebol whose secretly craving love. He's logical, gentle and, most importantly, willing to learn, adapt and change his views. He's also stubborn, arrogant and short-tempered.

Hwang Jae Wook (second male lead played by Hong Bin): He's a kind, selfless and handsome artist who's stuck in the underdog position when it comes to courting Cho Hong. Of course, he's also shown to be childish, irresponsible and immature. Out of the three leads, he's the most undeveloped and, perhaps because of that, he comes across as generic. He's a character that you can't really hate nor love and who's ultimately unmemorable.

SUPPORT CHARACTERS: Comic relief
--------------------------------------------------------------
They were incredibly shallow but they did add some needed flavor to the overall story.

PORTRAYAL OF ROMANCE: Realistically immature
--------------------------------------------------------------
Despite the urban fantasy setting, the romance was portrayed realistically. Which means the leads had to deal with misunderstandings, many of which were caused by poor communication. Thankfully, the misunderstandings got resolved fast in large part due to Ma Sung Tae's earnestness to make things work. He was habitually the one pushing Cho Hong to explain "what he did wrong" so he could "set things right".

If you're looking for a romance where both characters are active (and invested) in developing their relationship, then you'll enjoy this one. Even if it's not memorable, their relationship is fun and nurturing, with both characters putting their hearts on the line to make things work.

And if you're hesitating due to the love triangle, then be at ease. Kang Cho Hong is very assertive, so she doesn't flip-flop between the men.

OVERALL: Recommended as an absurdly light drama
--------------------------------------------------------------
This isn't a unique or memorable drama. It's not even well structured. It has flaws in logic and, sadly, the main conflict gets resolved in a very absurd way (possibly due to the writers running out of time or ideas).

Nonetheless, for the most part, the drama is entertaining. A key to enjoying the show is to lower your expectations to avoid disappointments. So if you're tired and are looking for something very light to kill time, you might want to check this one out.

Finally a light and fluffy k-drama is here to rescue my longing heart!
It has been awhile since drama world has provided us something light, cheesy, and comedic and this drama was just the perfect answer to that. I like how the drama although the plot was already as predictably cheesy and typical as possible it managed to still be entertaining, and make you want more of it! Honestly, 12 episodes of this drama was not even enough or me.

The plot/storyline is simple, but it was played and written just perfectly for a short drama, maybe that is also the reason why the conflict and also the ending felt a little rushed.

The characters were just funny especially the female lead's aunties, and of course the romance of the leads was just wonderful. Great chemistry. I like how they chose underrated actors to play the leads for this drama. They pulled it off very well without looking awkward. Hyun woo's acting was kind of weird at first because he was probably getting into the arrogant, rich, and wounded character of the lead guy but then it improved a lot in the middle of the drama. and you'll love him guys I swear. He's cute.

So all in all, I would definitely recommend this drama to all rom-com lovers. If you are looking for a cheesy short drama to watch, please do give this a try. ^^

To be honest, this drama is pretty "meh"... it's not bad, or good, or particularly memorable. I don't blame the cast or even the story. I do think it's a perfect example of how much chemistry can make or break a drama. With all the magic in the plot, I guess there was none left for the main couple.

So yes, the title is literal. This is a lighthearted rom-com about a witch's love life. The lore surrounding the witch world is pretty interesting, and there is also a mystery element added to it, but the story is a basic cold rich guy meets a quirky girl cliché. Yoon So Hee is a very cute and likable witch, and Hyun Woo plays his stiff and repressed chaebol part pretty well too, but together they just missed the spark needed to make this drama good. Scenes that should have been hot, were just awkward. Moments that should have been emotional were bland. Still, it aims to deliver what romance fans will expect, including a cute second lead (Hong Bin), but as far as pairings go, this pair is very forgettable.

The main supporting cast is very cute, and mostly likable, with the grandmas often stealing the show. Comparisons to the show Bewitched are spot on because the style of this drama is that lighthearted and silly. Even the darker moments are very pretty lighthearted and more cartoony than scary. I do think the writer did a good job of keeping the story interesting enough to keep me watching, but don't expect an intricate or deep plot. I also think some of the resolutions were pretty cheesy, but they did match the tone of the show.

Would I watch this again? No. Unless I decide to watch it because I've forgotten that I already watched it. Yes, It's really that forgettable. I even forgot I was watching it while it was on the air. At least they didn't drag it out and make it way too long.

Overall this is definitely a drama you can skip, but if you're in the mood for something light this could be pretty entertaining. There are only 12 episodes, so It could be perfect to binge if you've run out of shows to watch and have a high threshold for cheesy romance. As for me, although I don't regret watching, this drama just never quite got me under its spell.

After watching this drama I was little in shock because of ending. the ending comes under happy ending but it missed the criteria of complete ending. I was expecting more in the end but the current ending is also fine. whole story build up was nice. The story is simple, less dramatic and enjoyable.

As for the acting department, they have scored straight A's in that. I love the dialogues' delivery and the expression with that. Hyun Woo did his best but he has some lack of expression maybe his character is like this. as for Yoon So Hee, she was amazing.

If we come to character, Ma Sung Tae which is played by Hyun Woo is kind of a stiff character. Not easy to mould type. he took so much time in realizing that he has some feeling for Kang Cho Hong.
Kang Cho Hong character is played by Yoon So Hee, an amazing witch who is not bound with any type of rules and regulation. even for one minute, she wants to live her life the fullest.

Worth rewatching.

So I just finished this last night, and it crept up on me because I didn't know there were only 12 episodes. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I just wasn't expecting it to end and it just did.

I loved this drama though, pretty much everything about it was great. I loved the Female Lead in this, she was so adorable and beautiful that I couldn't help but fall for her. The grandmas were awesome, especially the much older one, they really felt like their characters .

The Male lead was cool, I never really have much to say on the male actors because I have no interest in them outside their ability to play a character, and this one I feel really nailed it.

The romance was great, it started early enough and I was wondering what was going to break them up (usually the case when the couple gets together relatively early). I usually hate that part because of how annoying it is to me that the romance is essentially being put on hold, but this is a problem with kdramas in general and not this one in particular.

The only thing I really have to complain about was the very confusing rules when it came to the powers of the witches. This is also why I had to use spoilers in this review.

So according to the show, if someone finds out about your powers you lose them? In the beginning they make it seem like if anybody finds out they are a witch then they lose their powers, and this is shown by the female lead drunkingly telling the male lead that she is a witch, resulting in her losing her powers.

This is fine, but there are instances like when the other restaurant owner sees them performing magic and yet all they do is erase his memory and everything is fine.

Or like when the male lead finds out she does magic again later after his memory was erased , or all the people the female lead used magic on growing up.

I would pin this to it's because they didn't think she was a witch, just weird, but some even accuse her of being a witch.

Maybe the rule is that you have to tell them you are a witch, but then there would literally never be a problem because you could just tell people that you are magic, or a goddess, or a spirit or some shit.

Idk, I loved this drama but the confusing rules about what will make them lose their powers really annoyed me at the end.

I highly recommend this drama.

It's cute, but he storyline could have been better.

This drama was okay.

It wasn't the worst.

I'm never one to point out acting and production quality, my only problem was the plot line. It wasn't messy or anything, the plot line was well written out. It just feels like money ran out and they had to cut costs quick.

Like in the first few episodes they introduced another female that would rival the female lead. But after that episode she never appeared. She even had a proper back story and I could see her story arch play out well, but she just never appeared again.

This is what was the most painful to watch for me. The seed was planted and I got excited for this new character that just disappeared into thin air.

Another problem, which I figure was also because of budget cuts, their magic went from realistic, to obvious effects. In the beginning I paid a lot of attention to it to try and point out any flaws but saw none. Even their magic tricks turned mediocre because, I'm assuming, they didn't have the budget to do grand tricks anymore. It really left too much to be desired.

Now to he second male lead... Lee Hong Bin is the second male lead for this one. And the way he was just ignored throughout. I'm sure if I counted the time that he was on screen, it wouldn't even be ten minutes. Most of the story scenes were with the five/six-ish main characters. The girl, her grannies, the guy and his assistant. I mean, even the evil mother in law's secretary never said anything. I repeat, the budget was tight.

Sigh, I'm truly disappointed in this drama. Now that I'm writing all this down, I'm realising that there's so much that could have been changed to improve it.

Watch it at own risk, I guess. The plotline is still cute, it just started off with great potential and ended as meh.

This drama might as well be considered as a "longer web drama" as I felt that it had more qualities of a web drama than an actual typical Korean drama. The execution of the story itself was similar to how they would in web dramas — the plot was underdeveloped and was wrapped up quickly during the last episode. This drama had traded a good development in its mystery and romance for comedic scenes that I thought was more often that not unnecessary. (I am more appreciative of a good balance. But each to their own, you know? If you're a fan of these little funny parts in your dramas, then go for this one. The grandmother witches and the secretary were quite fun at times~) All I'm saying is that the writers wanted this drama to be lighthearted and they wanted things to be very simple. They showed us just that with this drama (hence why I said that there were plenty of things that were obviously underdeveloped).

Despite the somewhat quick romance (which I honestly was not a fan of as I'm still a bit confused about the romantic development), the romantic moments were adorable and heart fluttering. The kisses shared were very sweet. Though, it was understandable that the writers had to make haste with the romance as they only had 12 episodes to work with and they wanted to have quite a lot of fillers involving the side characters. Also, I found that not a lot of people were big fans of the male lead (I wasn't either. I wish they could have written him a little better?), but he was actually not that bad towards the end. Seriously, there had been worse out there.

The actors did an okay performance for this drama and I thought that their acting was fit for this kind of drama. The same goes for the chosen songs for the OST~

Overall, I think that I wouldn't recommend this drama to others unless they haven't got anything else to see and want something short and lighthearted to watch. I actually thought the drama seemed like a very short manhwa adaptation, but I think that I've read more developed manhwas than this drama. Honestly, in the end, I thought, "That was it?" It would leave you wanting more as like I kept on saying, it's not that written well in comparison to other dramas which has similar themes. There are 1hr~2hr movies that could manage to fit a good story and well-developed romance with added fantasy and mystery elements better than how the writers did for this 12 episode drama.

To be honest, if you need some fluff in your life and just a filler, this is the perfect show to go to. It's not really much, it's entertaining though and pretty cute in it's own way. I saw the main female lead in another show and she was emotionless and low and behold nothing changed about this show much, it was honestly entertaining. I literally watched it to kind of knock it off my list but the two mains were cute and the whole backstory was okay, his backstory was a good "what's wrong with sec kim" back story so that was alright but this show isn't a wonderful master piece. It's literally just a good watch. OST was fire though.

So in short: I started watching this kdrama since it seemed interesting and because I felt like watching a short one.

STORY: The story was very interesting to me. I usually don't watch fantasy dramas, but this one made me interested. I think it was well written considering the length of the drama. The setting was nice and felt natural. The story also contained some mystery throughout the whole kdrama, so that made me wanna watch more. Tho, some things about the story were left undiscovered or should I say very quickly told. Also at the beginning of the series, there was a second female lead introduced, but after that, she didn't appear ever again? It didn't bother me too much though.

CAST: I think the cast was very well chosen, and the chemistry was good. I loved the romance between the leads, it was very cute. The grandmothers also fitted very well into their characters. The second male lead also fit well, but I feel like he wasn't mentioned too often in the story.

REWATCH VALUE: I always put the rewatch value low, since I mostly don't rewatch dramas.

Overall the kdrama was very nice, I binged watched it, and it was enjoyable :)

this series is very light hearted. like reading an essay that you did in your high school. without any bad guy being focus here. basically totally a story bout witch that fall for a wrong guy. and that's it! dont really know what else to comment here except that its fun to see the grandma witch relationship and the witch and lover relationship.

just watch it if you're looking for something to pass your time or chill out. basically this is kind of series that you can watch while eating a popcorn on your bed.

This is amazing, watch it now!

Hi, so I see many of y’all never liked this drama, but listen up, you’ll never regret watching this. This drama is literally a breath of fresh air. I watched this when it came out, but here I am reviewing it years later because I watched again and couldn’t stand the low rating. The storyline is beautiful, the acting is on point, and everything about it is amazing, but I can say it had a little bit of a rushed ending but what can we do about it. This couple is fluffy and cute. If you can’t sense the chemistry, then something is wrong. Anyways please watch it!!!!!
