In both Dramas we have a strong-minded/quick-to-fight, main female lead, and a rich/bratty/stubborn/childish male lead.

The differences between those two dramas, is that in Promise Cinderella, there is a 10 years age difference between the main leads; while in Hana Yori Dango all the characters had the same age.

Excluding the age difference, everything else is the same.

Promise Cinderella it's a fun thing to watch if you want to see sth at the end of the day, but you can't take it 100% seriously.

If you loved Oguri Shun in Hana Yori Dango, a natural progression is Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. Hana Kimi has a much lighter and quirky tone, but jdrama is by far my favorite adaption. Yes, I have watched the Taiwanese and Korean Dramas. Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma and Horikita Maki make up a strong center cast! Ikuta steals the lime light!

Similarities:
- Their relation changes through story: from enemies to lovers
- Rich guy / poor girl relationship
- Guy is spoiled but he changes and becomes a better person because of the girl
- Girl is kind, helpful and tough, she doesn't give up easly
- I kinda feel that DDYD is next adaptation of original story presented in HYD based on manga/anime
- School / romance / comedy

Both are a FL who becomes close to a group of four guys. Both feature at least a triangle in the romance storyline.

A strong girl and a stubborn rich brat that won't accept "no" for an answer..and we also have a "soulmate"? The perfect combination.

Makino Tsukushi is the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, a school for the ridiculously rich and privileged. Eitoku Gakuen is ruled by the Flower 4, or otherwise known as the F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4's bad side, he/she gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school.
Makino hopes to pass her days quietly - without drawing any attention to herself - but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino receives the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school and declares war right back on the F4, because she is a "tough weed." Her resolve gets the attention of her crush, Hanazawa Rui, and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa.

A must watch Japanese version of Meteor Garden. Poor girl rich guy & fell in the love in the process with so many hassle before they were together. Among all the version I like the Taiwanese version in my opinion.

Is the second season of Taiwanese version Meteor Garden still is intersting to watch. I still recommend the first season though.

Kind of a typical high school love story, a bit different plot & a bit intriguing too. Is a high school love story that I recommend to watch.

Rui is very similar to Ah Yi. You can never forget your first love.

Hana Yori Dango is the prequel of Hana Nochi Hare. Both stories are set at Eitoku Academy, an elite private school for rich students. Hana Yori Dango has the F4 and Hana Nochi Hare the C5, whose leader idolizes the leader of the F4 Domyoji.
