Based on a popular comic, this hilarious comedy follows the chaos, troubles and friendship at a boys' boarding school after a girl-disguising-a-boy joins. Ashiya Mizuki has just come back to Japan from California where she was raised. She fell in love with Sano Izumi, a hopeful high jump hero, who has quit after an accident. As she wants him to go back to the sport once again, she enters the same high read moreschool as a boy! With a short hair, flattened chest and lowered voice, she starts sharing the same room with Sano.

It's lighthearted, funny and rewatchable, and has great cast.(I've watched it 3 times)
The opening (ikenai taiyou - orange range) and ending (peach - otsuka ai) songs are really catchy as well, and if you hear those songs for the first time while watching this show, then here either song afterwards...you'll think back and feel like watching an episode.

Overall it's a great watch, it was my first and still favourite drama read more and really raised the bars for others IMAO. ENJOY. :)

One of my first japanese dramas and the reason i fell in love with japanese shows.
This drama have it all; the story was nice, i loved the gender bender story, the cast couldn't been any better and all characters were simply awesome.
I also loved the hilarious events, there were episodes where i couldn't stop laughing, there were also moments of sadness, i remember being extremly sad when it ended. Hana read more Kimi is one of the dramas that need to be watched, it's one of the dramas that i would never forget about.
The best version out there !

If you loved Oguri Shun in Hana Yori Dango, a natural progression is Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. Hana Kimi has a much lighter and quirky tone, but jdrama is by far my favorite adaption. Yes, I have watched the Taiwanese and Korean Dramas. Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma and Horikita Maki make up a strong center cast! Ikuta steals the lime light!

Both have a female pretending to be a male. The main difference is the reason why she is disguising herself. There is a love connection, super confused guy trying to figure out if and how he could be attracted to another guy when he thought he was straight and working his way through that. This drama also has a bit more adult humor and romantic scenes so it's almost like Hana Kimi is the kids version (an awesome kids version might I add) and Coffee Prince is the teenage version.

I loved this drama!!! <3 I gotta say it was way better than the Korean version (To the Beautiful You). The J- version was totally cute and hilarious! So hilarious!! And I loved the way everyone bonded! Taking the cuteness, hilarity and friendship into consideration, the J-version was the best! <3 Although the sports stuff (High jump) was better in the K-version.

One of my first Japanese dramas, and along with the Taiwanese version, these two are literally the best version out of the Hana-Kimi remakes in my opinion. I read the manga and thought it was going to be an exact copy but was happy and surprised that they kept the dynamics of the friendship and relationships with the other students in the dorm but took a detour in the overall story than from the manga. It was a really, really, really great drama and I highly recommend for people who read the manga and don't feel like they are watching line from line what they read or even for people they never read the manga and just wants a really good laugh, because this will surely deliver on it highly.
