This is a Japanese gender bender series that takes humor to a different level, If you're looking for a GREAT DEAL of laughter and cute high School themed romance, this is the show for you. You'll definitely love the musical scores as well. :)

Both have a female pretending to be a male. The main difference is the reason why she is disguising herself. There is a love connection, super confused guy trying to figure out if and how he could be attracted to another guy when he thought he was straight and working his way through that. This drama also has a bit more adult humor and romantic scenes so it's almost like Hana Kimi is the kids version (an awesome kids version might I add) and Coffee Prince is the teenage version.

In both dramas, Horikita Maki plays a tough girl who suddenly finds herself in an all boys' environment and slowly gains the boys' love and respect. Both dramas have 'over-the-top' humor and episodic structure. Both are friendship oriented with a bit of cute romance thrown in. Both have a powerful moral. Basically, the feel of these two dramas is extremely similar and if you liked one, you will probably like the other.

Both have a girl who disguises herself as a boy; in both you can find various ikemen; and both are incredibly hilarious while also having a romantic storyline. You'll also probably end up getting SLS (second lead syndrome) both times, so beware.

They have the same concept of "girl-pretends-to-be-a-boy".

A girl cross dressing as a boy and trying to hide her real gender in order to accomplish something even though the reason is a little deffrent.

They both have the same concept of a girl in an all boys school, while in a disguise of a boy. Though in great men academy the girl REALLY turns into a boy (magic) it's still the same idea. Also great men academy has a love triangle idea that happens within the school just like in this one.

when you have to pretend as a guy, don't you think about Ashiya from Hana Kimi? You enjoy the feeling of being surrounded with all Ikemen. ^__^

they both have a similar style: light, funny, and touching moments. Both have a high school setting and are manga adaptions so the story revolves around school events like festivals, etc.

A female lead disguises herself as a male in order to get enrolled into an all boys' school because there is a guy she likes. They are similar because of gender bender.
