Both have a likeable gang of characters solving cases.

Young blood's cases are more engaging and consequential whereas MLC's feel more like props. MLC is a higher budget production, though YB is arguably better in most areas such as plot, characterization, and acting.

For non-native speakers, MLC may be more accessible and an easier breezier watch.

- Both are detective / solve cases genres. Though set in different eras, the logic of the plots are well thought through with watertight logic
- Team that started from a group of strangers with complementary strengths and clear role
- The core team learns to trust and rely on each other over time
- Yuan Zhong Xin from Young Blood and Shi Jian from Record of Strange Things are same type of people. They are the smart Alecs who cares about their comrades way more than they let on through the course of the story

Same screenwriter, Wang Juan

Only difference is DC has the fantasy element whilst YB does not.

If you like YZX's character, then you may like The Dark Lord as the main lead (YXT), has a similar character to YZX in Young Blood.
- Both YZX and YXT are intelligent, cunning, likes to make trouble and hilarious.
- Young Blood is more on martial arts and Wuxia whereas The Dark Lord is based on male lead being a government official.
-Both have a bit of romance.
- Both are really funny and have awesome SML. SML in The Dark Lord is extremely funny (Luo Da Heng)

Although the storyline is completely different, I personally think that YZX in Young Blood and JXY in Handsome Siblings have quite a similar character. Both are smart, cunning and loves to joke around; thus always mistaken for always lying and not being to fully trust them. They also like to solve problems if it arouses their interests and likes to make trouble. Both shows includes fighting scenes but Handsome Siblings is based on Jianghu whereas Young Blood focuses more on solving cases, helping the country and the people and has politics involved. Both stories have romance.

- Similarly there is also a special corps used for investigation on the City and governing people.
- Uncooperative members are to bond over time and work as a group.
- Luoyang uses come light heartedness scenes from time to time whereas Young Blood is very enjoyable with its cues for laughable scenes whilst being able to incorporate investigations logically and seriously.
- No fillers!

The scriptwriter for Joy of Life also created and partially wrote Young Blood. The humour and amount of plot twists are rather similar, both dramas also have minor supporting characters that are so adorable that end up being popular with the audience.
