Both shows have a protagonist that is done with life (one more than the other) end up stuck with an extrovert and chaotic person. The stories and direction aren't really similar, but the dark humour and atmosphere in Definitely Not Today reminded me a lot of I Picked Up A Star From The Road.

Both are satirical works of the romcom genre and subverts a lot of cliche tropes. Main couples REALLY do hate each other at first before gradually falling in love. There's also a mystery of who attempted to kill the ML in both plots. Both use dark humor and exaggerated acting to make fun of the genre.

If you're looking for pure romance, these dramas are not for you. They're not Nevertheless or Love Alarm with their melodramatic romances. But if you are patient and have a realistic expectation of romantic relationships, then they both deliver. Couples all have great chemistry. Even if you're a fan of pure romances, you will be throughout entertained by both dramas; I was laughing at everything.

Both are also underrated compared to some of the more overhyped shows on this website and are victims of people don't understand what satire is. Crazy Love had the amnesia/fake fiance trope in its summary and people just assumed it would be cheesy like that instead of giving it a chance while I Picked Up a Star on the Road was similarly a victim of assumption and people who canceled it for its kidnapping plot. If you actually give them a try, they will surprise you, in a good way.

If you liked the laugh out loud (and sometimes slapstick) comedy in 'I Picked Up a Star' you'll love the hilariousness that is Eulachacha Waikiki - its genuinely funny as hell!

A young girl named Joo In Hyung, suffering from her past experiences until a group of mysterious men suddenly enter her life. The fantasy romance drama touches on dreams, love, and friendship.

A capable but unpopular showbiz manager, Kazuko, struggles to groom a younger, new male actor, Ryo, whom she had scouted, into a star. An unmotivated Ryo slowly becomes conscious of the pleasures of acting. Bonds of camaraderie grow, and before long, love gradually blossoms between them.

- the male lead is an actor
- the female lead gets involved with the male lead and his life unwillingly

It's a VERY tentative suggestion, but both dramas rely quite a bit on dark humour which I've up till now found quite rarely in Korean dramas.
The plotlines though are completely different.

I Picked up a Star on the Road is about a young woman accidentally hitting a famous actor (while trying to take revenge on her boss) and thinking she has killed him. This makes her take his body home to find a way to dispose of it...but the actor is still alive and the 'attempted murder' turns into a kidnapping.
Sadly, IPSR turns into a more classic rom-com after episode 5, but till then it's a very funny and unconventional (for Korean standards) dark comedy.

Psychopath Diary is about a mid-30s man who's a timid pushover losing his memory and coming to believe he's actually a cold-blooded serial killer.
Psychopath Diary has no romance (barely some minimum elements), but the humour is more consistent than in IPSR and I generally found it a superior drama overall.

Similar in which a rich guy ends up living with a hardworking lady in her humble rooftop abode, though the circumstances are quite different in each case. Their two worlds colliding & in the process learning more about each other along the way. Similar type of comedy.

If you like one show, you’d definitely like the other as well

If you liked the comedic part of 'I picked up a star on the road', then you might like zombie detective aswell.
I find that they have the same 'weirdness' of humor and ridiculous moments, some serious parts that just escalates to something funny.

Both have their fair share of tender moments aswell as comedic slapsticks- although ZB comedy may be slightly different and occur more compared to IPUASOTR

Both presents and centers around a ML and a FL
