Overall I enjoyed watch this drama although I thought the story line is pretty slow (common in chinese drama). In the beginning I thought the story is too much but later found it's pretty good, I like how the personality of female lead that never change since beginning. Although earlier I said that the writer seems to drag the story, he/she didnt give enough story in the last episode. I thought we need another additional time or actually need another episode to explore the whole story. The last part mainly focus to second lead's love story so the actual couple didnt really get the spotlight that they should get.

Nice To Meet You is a drama that had a good premise of fated lovers facing obstacles and promising to always love and trust each other but the plot and leading characters could not live up to their promises because of the antagonists’ constant plotting against them and their failure to be completely honest with each other. This drama could’ve been better if it had about 30 less episodes since the story dragged and became repetitive. The leading couple had some nice interactions and romantic moments but, because of so many instances of doubt and push and pull from the lead female, their chemistry didn’t flow naturally. The supporting cast did well but there are too many evil acts and very little consequences. Overall, the drama could’ve been better but it is not that bad.

Although there is 56 eps but each eps only have 30-45mins and I feel the drama is paced very well. Although some parts seem a little draggy but it definitely make up to why it happens. Finally a drama that doesn’t rush through its ending and I love how well it is to the ending. Although they didn’t really conclude if yu Yi and hui hui end up together.
The chemistry between the main leads are amazing!!!
Definitely worth watching!

This drama has a nice story line with immense depth of knowledge of jewellry business and commensurate props to fit the story.
The Love story is the usual is a back and forth love of love between two people plagued by the usual trope of misunderstandings and family differences that drags through 53 episodes .
The chemistry between the leads was passable, but it should have been better for a 53 episodes drama., a lot of sweet moments of bed scenes and skinship should have been infused to make the journey of watching more exciting .
I however liked the story of loyalty, the male lead was loyal through and through before and after they broke up which was for the right reason but the wrong approach of disgracing her. I watched the entire drama which means I enjoyed it moderately because I normally drop dramas I don’t like the story line.

I won’t ship this couple, I don’t think their chemistry had the sexual energy vibe that makes me believe they would want each other after the show .

Great Strong Main Male Character

First of all, I came to watch this drama after watching “Destiny’s Love”. I fell in love with the young actor, Zhang Ming En. I love his sunny smile and bugs’ teeth. He gave me the much-needed comfort I desperately seek after watching “Goodbye My Princess”. I needed a good romance story with a good, strong male character.

I had a slow start with this drama. It took me awhile to get into the story. The first 10 episodes were built-up of the main characters that described what made them feel and do things the way they did. I had no problem in relating to Yu Zhi, the main male character. But until the end of the drama, I still could not fall in love with the female character, Gao Jie. I don’t know if it’s the problem with the actress or the persona of this Gao Jie character. Gao Jie was supposed to be strong, determined but yet reserved due to the burden she had been carrying. The character played by Janice Man did not appear to express this persona. Although Gao Jie was being described as a very kind person, I don’t find that was the correct description of her. Therefore, it was either the poor acting of Janice Man, or that’s how the character was supposed to be – an unconvincing person.

After reading some of the comments made by viewers, however, I’m convinced that my assessment of Janice Man was correct – she didn’t portray the Gao Jie character correctly. Most viewers, like me, couldn’t connect with her.

Apart from the, perhaps, poor acting of the main female lead, the rest of the cast was pretty good, especially Zhang Ming En, Shawn Wei, Melody Tang, and even Ma Ya Shu.

This is a drama of office politics, plagiarism in the creative industry and love relationship between couples.

Yu Zhi, the main male character, was intelligent, quick witted, outdoor, optimistic, athletic, daring, decisive, articulate, risk taking, devoted, sweet and romantic. And yet, there was a different side of him - he was also lonely, insecure and hurt as he witnessed the death of his birth mother when she killed herself. Therefore, when he met the love of his life, he invested all his emotions in her. She was like a float in the ocean for him. He depended on her to console his pain. He could be strict and commanding in the office, but once he was with his loved one, he was as timid as a kitty, cringy just like a small boy. For his part, Zhang Ming En was so convincing. I fell in love with this character immediately.

I found the Gao Jie character so confusing. On one hand, she was supposed to be open and outright but on the other, she was deceitful. Time and time again, she covered up even she already had a very deep relationship with Yu Zhi. She was supposed to be intelligent and sensitive and yet she lacked the innate ability to detect something had gone wrong when Yu Zhi gave her multiple hints to confess herself. In fact, she was so oblivious to the point of being irritating, and the character was not consistent with the personality of being a sensitive person who Yu Zhi had fallen in love with.

This drama is actually quite a moving story. The underlying theme is how plagiarism hurts the original creators. It was very heart warming to see how one should take care of ones’ parents despite them being disabled/invalid. Friends and family should trump everything including success and wealth. Winning is not everything. If one wants a long lasting loving relationship, one should build it with trust, love, and without an ulterior motive.

Things were wrapped up quite properly at the conclusion. The Chinese / western cross-over wedding gown was perhaps the most beautiful wedding gown I've ever seen.

I wish the production team had hired better voice actors in speaking English. I don’t mind the accent, but it was really embarrassing listening to bad English; most of the time, I couldn’t understand what they were saying without reading the subtitles.

Overall, this is a rather fun drama to watch without eating your heart out. If you have nothing better to watch right now, this drama maybe a good candidate for you.

It’s either a credit to the to lead actors or I am just a gluten for punishment, but I finished this drama.

Both of the leads are great and can sell some awful storylines. They are the reason that I made it to the end of this series.

The writers think the audience is too since the flashbacks are excess, sometimes random and sometimes quoting something that happened 10 seconds before. Literally. ugh.

There is no character development. The really awful characters get away with everything and the good guys are so stupid they let them. I liked the second male lead in Goodbye My Princess, but his character is so inconsistent (and stupid) that I started to question his acting capabilities. The writing is THAT BAD. Characters pop up for their plot point and then leave for a half dozen episodes for no reason. it’s super lazy writing.

And the plot! So predictable and every cliche you can imagine.

Really I watched for the adorableness of Zhang Ming En, but towards the end, the writers really shortchanged him with very little material. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

Romance in magnificent jewelry world

•HOW I CAME ACROSS THIS DRAMA
I was watching Youtube and saw clip where a man proposes to woman on ramp. I watched this drama during lockdown in 2020 but now rewatched it again

•STORY
Gao jie and gao hui are step sister with same father but different mother. gao hui always try to get what is meant for Gao jie. Yu zhi and Yu Yi are cousin brothers who are grand-kids of a Rui Hua jewelry company owner. Both brothers pursue the Gao sister but there are obstacles and backstabbing.
Gao jie is a normal girl with dreams and passion looking after her mentally retarded mother. Gao jie and yu zhi meet abroad fell in love, upon returning to china they cross paths and romance blooms.
She is not a Cinderella but she meets a prince charming. I thought it to be a Cinderella story with evil step sister bullying her and winning cunningly. And the handsome prince Yu Zhi saves her. But the story is much more, involving two generations.

•PLOT VIEW
I was confused as the opening scene was about the wedding which is actually a middle scene of great importance. It made no sense to why put that middle scene as opening scene. It would be great to start the series with the abroad scenes of lead.
Initial episode just consumes and story is very fast pacing, although I thought of giving up midway seeing 53 episodes but I continued.
As the story progresses there is backstabbing and revenge and lots of manipulation and a repetition of past incident that is jewelry competition.
The repetition of past incident to correct the present seemed convincing as a drama plot. The whole story is about Jewelry competition between the sisters.
A very well written drama with a very good story and lovable cast. This tale of romance, misunderstanding and guilt was assembled properly. This circumstances could be anyone fate but to overcome in a balanced way and forgiving the past is necessary.

•ACTING
Janice Man as Gao Jie's positivity was truly remarkable.. At times she is annoyed, angry, revengeful, but same time she caring, honest, and forgiving. She is the girl who fights who doesn’t want sympathy, janice man just nailed it with her performance.
Zhang Ming En as Yu zhi was character with trust issues due to past incidents was heartwarming, loving and caring. His heartbreaking scenes were commendable
The romance was excellent. The chemistry and kisses didn’t feel that they were just acting. God bless janice man and zhang for doing such extraordinary job.

Melody Tang as Gao Hui seems snobbish, arrogant, I would stay miles away from such a scheming person. there is a saying that short people are more cunning, and looking at Melody tang character this is so apt. she acted so well that I really hated her.
Shawn Wei as Yu yi was nice but his expressions seemed bland at times.

•MUSIC
The music was awesome. Each song was worth listening.
Claire Kuo “Nice to meet you” ost is so beautiful that I cant stop listening to it. I updated it to my playlist.
Shaw “when love becomes loved” is another beautiful piece. It just makes me feel like am watching a bleeding heart.

•REWATCH
I already watched it thrice. And would definitely watch the series again.

•APPRECIATION
The exquisite jewelry and the process of creating it was shown nicely especially the handmade jewelry.
The traditional jewelry which is really less worn in modern times is presented vividly, I think it might give the youngsters an insight that how traditional thing still remain beautiful.
There lot of information about jewels which shows how excellent this career choice is.
The beautiful clothes of the entire cast specially the leads was eyecatching. The jumpsuit in forest worn by both was nice.

•CRITICISM
The fierce competition and the dirt involved in way too much.
The mother daughter duo underhanded techniques was worse, no
This drama has lots of coincidences, which actually seem unreal. As in meeting abroad and then in home country,, jewelry releasing day,, and many more but its a drama anything can happen.
The Chinese actors speaking english, I understand they are not fluent but they could have done few practices.
And last xiaoci tripping scene and getting concussion was so damn silly. If that scene is true then half of the world would be lying in hospital for having a concussion after falling.

•FAV SCENE
When gao jie and yu zhi see tree of life for first time.
When yu zhi sees the redrawn image of tree of life.
When yu zhi shows the laminated leaf.
Pigeon ruby jewelry with wings made by gao jie in the competition and its presentation at the gala.
These things held a significance until the end and it was really beautiful.

•RECEMMENDATION
Yes I would recommend it to people who love family drama with amazing romantic story line.

•AFTERTHOUGHT
It gives an insight that when you tell a lie you can only add to it and make a heap.
I also understood that if you be with evil people you might someday do evils too just like Yu Yi.
No matter how hard it is but no father should leave the family for ones own benefit, and one should repent when its time.
Trust takes time to build and a second to fall, so always be careful.
lastly i think the purpose of showing jewelry industry, is fulfilled and people get more interested to it.

About as subtle as shotgun blast to the face

I don't get the appeal of shows like this. Only a glutton for punishment could want to watch 50+ episodes of a person getting crapped on time after time after time after after time after time after time after time after time. The evil mother character needed to have a long mustache like Snidley Whiplash that she could roll around in her fingertips while thinking of the next scheme to make poor Gao Jie's life a living hell. These dramas always have over-the-top villains but this one took it to a stupidly ridiculous extreme.

EDIT: Ok, so I'm a glutton for punishment. I had to see how this crazy show ended. I ended up skipping some of it because, while it did get better, the "LOOK AT HOW EVIL THE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER CHARACTERS ARE" bit was still pretty tiresome. I still didn't like it but it did get better.

For starters, it starts off way too fake for example they already shared a kiss on the second episode, I highly value reality in dramas . As for my second reason for disliking this drama, It's because of the female mains decision, somewhere at episode 4-5 the female lead decides to leave the male lead for a reason that she personally thinks is true but still considers it true and while it's a unconfirmed reason she still broke up with the male lead. I personally hate when these scenes happen, they might have a proper reason and a proper worry but I really really hate when they don't ask for a answer and just assumes that the male lead won't like you because of this or because of that. This of course is my own opinion and I hope I didn't offend anyone.

I went in with pretty high expectations for this since it was a spinoff of Because of You, which was a good drama to watch. However, it is a spinoff so its quality and scriptwriting and acting are all pretty bad compared to Because of You. The main leads look good together but their acting was hard to watch. The plot is also pretty cliche and cringy to watch most of the time. It's all pretty predictable. They don't live up to the name of Because of You. I would not suggest watching this if you think it'll be as good as Because of You because it is disappointingly not. Unless you're bored, go for it.

I will chose death over this drama

I couldnt take more than one episode ... This story is an abuse to my senses ... Plus the irritating violin playing in the entire episode ..oh God ... I won't put that music even on my funeral... I felt like I am going to deep slumber in the Abyss while watching this show ...
After yawning a hundred times,Wiping away my tears of boredom..and questioning my existence in front my laptop,I am giving up ..
ladies and gentlemen finally I am giving up on this steaming pile of horseshit ...

James...
