Nothing but respect

I love movies based on historical events so this one was right up my alley. Yoo Hae Jin is great once again (like everything he does) but so is the rest of the cast. Very touching, sad, funny even, a mix of emotions. After watching I feel humbled and have nothing but respect for their ancestors.
It's unbelievable how random life can be and how their gigantic task could have been in vain if weren't for pure luck (or the Heavens maybe).
I have visited Seodaemun prison where the political prisoners were held and tortured, and this movie refers to it, I recommend everyone interested in Korean history to pay a visit.
The movie was pure joy, although very sad story.

I really liked this movie. I felt the actors portrayed their roles well. I was touched And was crying too cause I ddnt know how much effort there was trying to make a dictionary during world War II. The Setup was very nice. Storyline was pure and easy not dragging. Highlighting normal illiterate Koreans at that time. I had always been a fan of war movies and series during joseon period and during the Japanese colonization, this is another inspiring side story. Kudos to the cast!

a must watch for 교포s !

i watched this with my 할아버지 and wow i loved it! it really gives you insight into why koreans are so proud of our culture and language! i think the movie was really well done and although it might not be 1000% historically accurate, it really gave me a huge sense of pride watching it, knowing that my ancestors fought so hard to keep our culture alive:) i think anyone who is of korean ethnicity or is interested in the korean culture in general would enjoy this movie and benefit from watching it! the acting was great and the story flowed well! love how they showed so many different dialects! will definitely force my little sisters to watch this hehe.
