This is a cute, silly, loud chick flick/manga. The episodes were short so it felt like 4 full episodes. Arata is a very pretty girl and the boy is handsome too. What i liked about the show unlike korean drama is that they get to the point fast and the kissing scenes are much better. There was lots of mature content/talk. The teacher was eye candy. Finished it in a day

Cutesy drama. I haven't read the manga. If you like an entertaining, funny, comical drama to pass time then I recommend this drama. It doesn't really make sense but it's sure entertaining with the main lead's comical antics and her chemistry with the male lead. I do recommend this drama if you want a break from serious dramas and just wanting to watch something that's entertaining enough. Exaggerated acting and expressions fit well what this drama is all about.

It's no secret how much I love dramas like this, and how much i love Nishiuchi Mariya. I mean- This girl is going places. She is the female Yamamoto Yusuke.

This drama is about a girl who is a total slob at home but a super charismatic attractive girl in public (I can relate to the slob at home part). I thought it was written very well and had me belly laughing a lot. The leads had such a good chemistry, and they actually kiss. Not those 'oh our lips grazed' kisses dramas so often have, but actual kisses.

Switch girl has all the drama classics- hot male lead with a tragic backstory, broody 'love rival' male with a pouty look holding his bag over his shoulder, the head hold hug, an evil girl who laughs manically, watching you while you sleep, and a pervy teacher that everyone forgives. All that was missing was the oops-i-slipped kiss.

My only problem is that Nishiuchi Mariya cries EVERY EPISODE, sometimes for no reason. I found myself shouting at the TV desperately trying to get her to stop.

This drama is great for a quick watch, especially if like me you love high school dramas.

I completed Switch Girl 2 days ago and it wasn't disappointing at all. When I first read the synopsis, I was already interested in it and then the no of episodes to be aired was 9. A friend of mine watching SG told me, there were only 8 eps and that got me a little confused..... From then on, I wasn't sure if SG was worth watching. Plus, I'm really particular about the ending of dramas.

That aside, the story itself, is really funny, a high school girl, who has an on/off switch mode. One minute she is prim and proper; in another minute she's a ball of mess.... In between all these personality changes all of stuffs happen, that will really make you laugh till you drop --- I actually laughed till I dropped hehehe.

As for the music, it's okay, but there's this particular that was sung towards the end. THAT one was the real deal.

Generally, SG is worth watching.

This drama has gotta be the most insane thing I've watched out of Japan to date!
But then again I think that thats part of it's charm. There is something about switch girl that justs draws you in and makes you watch it as the crazy unfolds. Plot? I'm not sure if there was one really but the romance between the 2 main leads was entertaining and you just wanna see if this cat underpants wearing simi replusive chic can win Arata over.
Music wise it didn't really stick out to me soundtrack wise. And I'm more interested in hunting down the isanity that will be "Switch Girl 2" which is currently airing and I hope someone translates it cause I gotta feeling I'd be more then willing to let my brain be taken hostage once again to watch part II to this crazy-go-nuts series.

If you're in the mood for some crazy Switch Girl is the drama for you.

Cringey... but wait I'm still watching!

If you're hoping to be mumbling "what the heck did I just watch and why am I still watching this," this drama is for you. Seriously, this drama was so weird. So much cringe and anime-like exaggeration (as expected) but for some reason, I still couldn't stop watching. The characters were very likeable despite being so ridiculous. Even the side characters like bosuzaru were a lot of fun. And the romance was truly adorable. The leads had really good chemistry and were very cute together. Story was your typical type, but the execution made it fun to watch anyways. If you are looking for a short comedy and a "what the heck am I watching" laugh, give it a go!

Let me explain why I give this crazy drama such a high score.

This drama set out to be goofy and funny and crazy and just the literal translation screen-for-screen of a manga. And it achieved this goal.

Sure, there are many scenes where I couldn't decide whether to laugh or facepalm myself, but it was entertaining either way. And it took the crazy as far as J-drama go. I really liked it because it was a very nice funny and romantic snack in-between - and not pretending to be taken seriously.

The acting is insane if you consider the crazy scenes they had to act... The male lead is hot, no denying that, and he seriously manages to keep a straight face throughout all the lunatic expressions of the female lead.

Take episode 6, when the whole bunch went to this crazy SM-meets-maid-cafe restaurant. You could actually see every single shot taken from a manga drawing. It was HILARIOUS.

I will rewatch it, because I need some stills for the pure enjoyment of the faces. XD

This drama is very unexpected! I love how the directors sucked closely to the manga, which I fell deeply in love with! And really I was very terrified of watching this in the first place, mostly because I felt that they would have ruined the story of the manga for me, with cheap sets and poor actors, but instead it was beautifully put! Like I read all the manga and I was still in suspense as to what was going to happen next. So don't look at the poorly under rating that this drama as and just watch it and rate it for yourself!

This is an amazing drama that outlines the reality of teen dating and the concept of "being yourself". This show pokes fun at, but also points out the very real situations that teenagers deal with when it comes to relationships, especially from the girl's perspective.

The main characters are completely loveable and are easy to relate to. The humour is outrageously hilarious and in some circumstances completely unexpected. I really couldn't believe that they "went there" in some of the situations the characters are put in. But it's completely PG13 and very well done. It's a show I would recommend for sure.

Started watching this in the beginning of my Asian drama discovery. Gave this a go because I'm a huge fan of Japanese high school themed anime, manga and drama, but was quite disappointed with this one. It was overly fake, the jokes weren't even that funny and the characters were definitely cringe-worthy. This series is just a very generic and simple Japanese drama based on the manga, I'd recommend picking something else instead of wasting time with this one.

One reason why I love J-Dramas: Switch girl. Cracked up for hours watching this.

No real story really. She's just trying to get the guy she likes but her messy personality keeps getting in the way. It's really relate-able to me because i'm almost exactly like her. I'm a slob at home and at school and work I try to cover it up and act all prim and put together (usually). But this was a hilarious drama so forget the story- I just want to laugh.

Acting was great. I love Nishiuchi Mariya because she can actually put aside her good looks and act like a dork for this drama and it still seems so natural. Kiriyama Renn was really handsome and chill so of course, I really liked him.

Didn't pay attention to the music. But as usual Japanese comedies have those sound effects to make actions even funnier than they were already.

Will definitely re-watch this one soon. It's been so many years already and i've watched the first episode quite a few times. It's gold.

Not a show to take seriously but rather a great watch to bring up your mood and get a good laugh out of.

Switch Girl.

I started watching this drama because I've been craving for some jdrama recently. The subbing for Switch Girl is currently very very slow. I don't even think that episode one is subbed. And so what I did was read the manga first [online of course] and then watch the drama. Fortunately, they follow the manga pretty well except for some little changes here and there.

Story: The story is pretty average I believe. Although I can see some potential. It's not done yet so I'm sure it'll get better over time.

Cast: I like the main actress. She has a pretty face as well as the main actor. They both act very well and they have chemistry. But their heights bug me though. But I don't hold that against any of them.

Music: The music's okay. Not that good but not bad either.

Rewatch: Possibly.

Overall: I'd still recommend it. One reason is because its a live-action and another because i like the actors in it.
