I expected I would like this drama, because I'm in a "family drama" mood and it was great. I really loved it!
The story is not a typical kdrama story with a lot of twists, birth-secrets, evil characters etc. It's more like I was following the life events of a normal family, whit ups and downs, remaining always with the feeling that something like that could happen in real life. That's the reason why I really enjoyed the show. It is different.
The characters are very well written, all of them had theirs own story, with funny events, sad events, love stories, friendship, breakups and reconciliations, marriage, birth and death. The chemistry between all of the characters was very good, giving the feeling they're a real family.
Of course the strongest plus point is the love story of Tae Sub and Kyung Soo. I loved the way it was presented, it was not too much for a kdrama, sometimes I even had the feeling the kiss is missing (but , in the end, I think it was better without it). The other love stories were also good, but not like that one.
The acting was brilliant, everyone portrayed his character very good. After this drama i'm loving Lee Sang Woo more and I noticed Song Chang Ui. It's the first time I see him playing a main role.
If you wanna watch a family drama that's not very complicated, with a plot that flows smoothly, with strong characters, full of family-love, with good love-stories I recommend this one!

This is a great drama with very strong characters.

To be honest I only started watching it because I read that the story would revolve a lot around the eldest son, who is in a gay relationship. I found this fascinating, seeing as it's a korean drama. The writers did a great job on that part, depicting the family's perspective and the couples perspective and how they each deal with this issue.

It was also interesting to see the interactions between the different generations of this huge family who all live together in one house.

What kept me watching was the great acting (especially song chang ui who plays the eldest son and kim hae sook who plays his stepmom)the amazing story, and also the amazing surroundings (jeju island).
Because it's quite a long drama you get to know each of the family members very well and you really feel the amazing bond that's between them.

I cried a lot, but I laughed too and watching it was an overall heartwarming experience!

This was quite a surprise drama for me. Probably if I had known what it was about I wouldnt have started it.
But as I did I got more and more involved in the plot. It revloves around a normal family, when one of the sons realizes hes gay, it shows us his prospective of how painful and frustrating it is for him to deal with it living in this society, how his family deal with it and finally how he accepts it.
the guys playing gay have done a wonderful job, although it must be difficult to play their part especially if they are straight.
the side stories are quite interesting too. well if you have liberal views and dont mind a gay romance, give it a try, it actually is really good. Im glad I did.

I felt writing this review because I can't even remember how many times I have rewatched this drama, it never gets boring and the topics that come up are so deep that they still prevail in current times.

As you may have guessed from the synopsis, it is a family drama but most importantly this drama focuses on how this family grows through hardships and coming in terms with reality. This drama was a big no-no for many Koreans because it involves homosexuality, SBS had to actually cancel the drama because of the huge criticism.

The drama deals so in depth with the issue looking through the different characters and opinions as if one character represented one side from society, e.g. does who support homosexuality, does who are against it, etc. It contrasts, the traditional societal views with modern views. Additionally, numerous other issues come up such as issues between step parents and step children, in-laws, marriage, birth secrets, love triangles and many more. It really shows what could happen in a family situation. (It is not all seriousness, there is fun times and lovey dovey ones as well ^^)

The actors did a great job throughout the drama and I can't emphasise enough how good it was. I remember watching any other drama that the actors have been in because I got to like them so much during this drama. After a few episode you get really into it.

I really recommend watching this drama and hope you will enjoy it like I did :)

This is the best series I've ever watched. I came to watch it just because of the lead actors (gay couple) coz they are my favorite and ended up crying like a baby, coz of all the stories being told but more the male leads (Tae Sub and Kyung Soo). They overcame many hardships in their lives like Kyung Soo Oppa's family that were against their relationship etc...

Their love was pure that just by the way they looked at each other my heart couldn't take it So yes I cried for every scene they played.
The love of the family that everyone wishes to have was also showed really the mother is the strongest woman I've ever seen in series and the father is just exceptional.

I've talked much but in the 3 days that I watched these 63 episodes (~70hours) were one of my best days ever. Being someone who has never cried over movies, I was surprised of myself (the way I couldn't stop my tears when I've started)

Just give it a shot and even the lead actors are sooooo cute❤️ and well built if that matters

It just became my favorite drama of all time. I always thought Koreans are narrow minded and never make gender fluid dramas. This drama changed my thinking about korean dramas. All the korean drams I watched had a rich and cool guy who fall for a dumb, poor or gangster like girl.

The lead role is very innocent and studious. All the characters in the plot are very cheerful and to my surprise there are no evil characters. Every family must watch this drama and we have to know what we are to the minorities

I didn't like like the ending though, I wished there is something like marriage in the church or reciting vows. Overall its very romantic very modern and both entertaining and educating

There was just one storyline that I enjoyed in this drama which was done so well that I completed the drama (skipping everything else). Everything else was just too slow for me and also annoying because of how some of the characters' behaviors were shown. It was how things used to be in older days but still annoying.

The eldest son's story - gay relationship, their thought process, struggles, acceptance, non-acceptance was done so beautifully. It was so good that I withstood rest of the drama just because of this storyline. I couldn't help but feel sorry for them till the end. Some of the scenes involving family members were just so beautiful and heartbreaking. The eldest daughter's storyline was also interesting and I was expecting some character growth there (which didn't happen) because husband was just pitiful! Apart from that, there was no storyline that I was really interested in. It felt too slow and on top of that, a lot of annoying characters. There was good potential in other stories but not up to the mark. Most of the relationships were unbalanced. Grandma was also pitiful! I think if characters had started to grow, the show would have been the best especially eldest daughter, grandpa and younger uncle. Mom also felt biased in her behaviors. Would have liked to see some growth there as well. It was probably lack of character growth that made the show feel slow and monotonous.

I haven't really enjoyed dramas involving homosexual relationships so far but here, that storyline is done so well that I could give 10 but everything else is boring and slow. Which is why - a lower rating. My recommendation would be to see the eldest son's storyline and skip everything else :) Or, watch an episode a day instead of binge watching.

This was my seance attempt to watch this drama. I decided to try again. I struggled to get to episode 11 and could not go any further. I was unable to identify a plot. I was unable to find a character that I could connect with or empathize with or even like. It was very slow and the episodes seem to last an eternity. There is no upbeat moments at all in this but I have seen. I can say that it touches on sensitive topics such as abortion, homosexuality, divorce and blended families. Although all of those aspects were intertwined in it, I still found it dull and absolutely boring. They had amazing cast and many of them were handsome but that couldn’t fix this for me. I am a fan of family dramas but this one was like watching fish swimming around in a pond.
