Ehh idea was good...but its not working
My first review, so it´s kinda messy :)I did really like the idea of story. Like putting homophobic in a room with gay and make them living together, sound as really good idea for a plot. And it could have really work...
If Type´s character would be better written.
- Type is too toxic, I do understand that homophobic people hates gays (...well no...but you know what I want to say) but physically hurting him? That´s too much for romantic story. Type kicked, punched Tharn so many times, sure sometimes it was as teasing, but....when he punched him because he was angry...that´s too much. I can´t like his character for that.
- Another thing is that how homophobic he his. Sure he has a reason...but story just told you that and didn´t do much with what. Like Type should be having some problems because of that reasons, but when things happens he acted like his reason for that never happen. It would be so much better for his character be affected by that before doing it.
- And his homophobic insults are really annoying. When thinks with Tharn he still acts like he is straigh. Boy you are not doing it with sock on I guess so don´t give me that you are straigh as straight. And things really annoys me. Like you are in love with boy but still talk crap about gays. If he was questing himself for loving Tharn, it would be understandble kinda, but he didn´t . He accepted that he loves boy and still talk crap about how all gays are the same disgusting. He like yells how disgusting they are but change in a minute because of talking to Tharn. It was like his boyfriend isn´t gay. I can´t really decribe what I think by that bc Type´s actions doesn´t make sence to me.
And small thing which makes me mad are things which happens offscreen. Like their relationship change from one point to small point....but progress is still important! I wanna see how that happen not "It just happen". Like Type said no and then something happens offscreen and Type is saying yes...I wanna see how and why it happened!
Things I liked are comedy and acting and OST after few episodes hits good too.

RAPE/NON-CON/DUB-CON
The character Tharn is manipulative and molest Type when he's drunk. That's all you need to know.Save your time and skip this one. I don't understand how this series can be so popular. Sure the actors are handsome, but that doesn't save the storyline and the non-con act.
But if you're watching it for the actor, or just for fun, just remember that this is non-con and no matter how handsome he is it doesn't make it okay. And if you're going to recommend this to anyone else, please recommend while educating them that what's happening in this story is NOT OKAY.
Please don't help the non-con culture spread even more and accepted as if it's okay.

Toxic Relationships are SOOO Cool :P
I hope you caught on to the sarcasm. The actors' chemistry was wasted here. Tharn and Type are way too toxic to each other. Type has unresolved trauma and Tharn continued to force his way in and play head games after Type let him know. That is wrong on so many levels. Tharn is a manipulative "nice guy," the type of person who feels entitled to their crush's affections. Type was a hateful bigot, but it was due to childhood trauma that needed to be addressed with professional help. At his core, he is a good person. Type was still too rude, and I didn't like him at first, but I could at least understand where the anger came from.Idk if people are just going "KYAHH! GAY. Mew! Gulf! I likey!!!!!" or if they're really unable to see how bad of a relationship this is or both. I am disappointed that a highly liked/rated show features a lead couple with twisted beginnings and behaviors in a positive light. There are movies like A Frozen Flower and stories like Killing Stalking which feature some bad relationships, but the writers do not romanticize anything and allow consumers to examine each character's mindset. TharnType promotes forced partnership and bad/illegal behavior. I was enjoying shows like Gameboys, A Tale of a Thousand Stars, and Manner of Death before coming here. Those three shows aren't perfect, but they are nothing crazy like the main relationship in TharnType. I'm just glad TharnType was not my introduction to BL dramas.
Idk if this is considered a mild spoiler since it's a trope in so many BL shows, and the lead pair is known since episode one, but I'll warn you anyway:
I really wish Tharn and Type's relationship started off like the one with Type and the girlfriend. They're so pure and cute together. Idk why the author/writer decided a toxic relationship was the way to go. Maybe she saw how well Twilight did? I mean, she's laughing her way to the bank right now, but it boggles my mind that enough people found this stuff acceptable such that the show is rated above an 8 on MDL and even on IMDb. Fortunately, it looks like many of us aren't blind and are making it known that we want healthy LGBTQ+ shows.

*Important topics handled VERY POORLY*
First, anyone who loves this series, do the favor of not reading this review as I have no intention of making anyone upset or angry and neither I have any desire for anyone to come at me saying I am insulting one of the most popular bl of the year!!First I will admit, I just couldn't complete the series, I was APPALLED at how awfully the serious issues of male-rape, child abuse, sexual assault, mental health issues, and homophobia was handled!! More like NOT HANDLED AT ALL!!
This series had the potential to be a very IMPORTANT and the best series of the year but it FELL flat on its ass!! However, seeing the ratings, I guess not so flat afterall. I do not understand why people did not see the glaring problems this series had and are so invested and love it like it is the best bl to be made??!!!!
The problems I had:
CONSENT: I don't know how to emphasize this particular word. People need to understand that there is something called "Personal space" and respect the hell out of it. Here, the main lead tharn has absolutely and appallingly no concept of it at all. He is abusing his position as a roomate and WITHOUT any consent from his roommate is kissing him and even giving him hickeys when he is asleep or drunk. He even gave him bj without consent and strangely instead of being shocked and furious at this, Type is somehow totally okay with it. No sign of him panicking at being taken advantage of. No sign of him complaining to authority about the sexual Harassment faced. Nothing!! How and why??? If I was in his place I would be calling the cops!!
NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Till the ep I watched I was sick and tired of both Type and Tharn personalities. They were so poorly written. Not only Tharn was manipulative, whiny, creepy asshole but Type was also violent, irritating, homophobic bigot. Over the eps, their characters only became worse and worse!! No improvement whatsoever
NO RELATIONSHIP ARC
I want to know when did Tharn and Type even fell in love??!! Their relationship was more like fuck buddies than anything. Tharn was shown to be in love with Type from before but when?? And why? What is good about him?? Type was shown to have suddenly felt he was compatible with Tharn but that is all...when did he started developing feelings? What did he found different about him from other guys?? In fact when did he even started seeing him in different light? They both were not even shown to have developed frdship let alone love.
TOXICITY
Both characters as mentioned before were very poorly written and just as poorly excited. Their relationship was the proof of their poor characters. Some may argue that, their relationship was not perfect as they were having some past issues but my question is why were they not shown to be resolving or healing each other?? Isn't that the whole point of the relationship?? That you find comfort and happiness with the person, but all that I saw was both of them being very TOXIC. It was a very poor example of a relationship.
TIME LAPSE
This was a huge issue to me. I have NOT read the book so I don't know how much time has passed. The jump from one scene to the other was so sudden and sometimes I dunno how much time has passed unless I read the comments.
UNNECESSARY SIDE CHARACTERS AND STORIES
The main couple and their story in itself was very heavy themed and not properly executed but for no reason at all a korean guy was introduced whose roommate used to pry on Tharn and Type. Then there was the whole theme of Tar and Tum and hints of their creepy incestuous relationship. Also Tar too was having some deep rooted trauma from assault (but later I got to know that tar had something to do with Tharn and if it helped the relationship of Tharn and Type to improve in later eps then maybe this storyline was not so unneeded afterall but still I feel there was no need to explore Tae's relationship with his brother)
LGBT REPRESENTATION
This was my biggest concern and my biggest issue with this whole series. Here, Tharn is portraying an openly gay guy and he is basically sexually harassing another guy. Then the "sisters" or effeminate gay guys were a too touchy-feely without regard of others personal space. And when resisted, making the guy isolated in the entire college. Plus, the entire issue of male rape. This all concludes to show LGBT community in such a bad light. It is like all gays are only thirsty lusty male who only loves to get a feel of other guys and if you resist they will assault you!! Like WTF??!!!!
I was very very VERY disappointed with the series. I thought, I will see a series where it will show how a guy who had been a victim of male sexual assault and traumatized for life, resulting in him turning homophobic, would end up falling in love with a guy and deal with his own sexuality and overcome the trauma he has suffered. And also how the media treated his assault as a money making headline and revealing his identity resulting being topic of discussion and not allowing him to forget the horror he had to go through. I also hoped to see Tharn helping him overcome the trauma and helping him with therapy and counseling. But INSTEAD, I saw bay executed story with a very toxic relationship and poorly handling a series topic.
I just had to drop it as I couldn't take how pathetic and horrible the series was becoming with each ep. With that said I will agree, the actors are handsome and acted well. Their characters were written very bad but they tried their best and chemistry or steamy scenes more like was well done. I just wish the directors had invested just as much time in the story and the main couple rather than unnecessary plots which could have easily been shown in second part!!

Watched halfway and dropped
When I watched the trailer, this series seemed exciting and when I read the positive feedback, I dived to watch it but ...I DROPPED IT!
No offence but for me, I couldn't connect to the main couple and the way their relationship started and proceeded was a big question for me ... like how a person can feel that huge amount of feelings towards someone that fast without knowing them for a long time?
I didn't feel any chemistry between them. You know in many series like ITSAY or Cherry magic or even 2gether you could see the tension between the characters but in this series ... I couldn't spot any and even got mix signals from Type and when they kissed for the fist time I wasn't sure if the feelings are mutual or not so this kinda implied that Tharn is forcing his feelings and Type has no choice but accept it.
ACTING
despite the story, Tharn did a good job in acting.
I hope this review doesn't mislead and offend. I just said what I felt and thought and if you find it helpful then lucky me :)

JCOC!
This drama is great for the love part only.Type is an a-hole, self centered, egotistical, moul fouthed, jerk, douchebag, hypocrite kinda guy. I hope I write all of them that represent Type character, because the actor is so awesome on portraying it, or better, the writer!
The plot is spicy for some, full of TW for sure.
The one thing that make me stay to watch it is the way the director make the scene, especially the lovey dovey scene so perfect, you want to play back just to watch and get the feels.
In the end, Type is a great love to Tharn.

Must watch
First Thai BL show and I'm so glad it was TharnType. I've seen several others now, and boy, some could have turned me away from Thai BLs forever, even though they are supposedly recommended.Great acting/production, amazing chemistry, drop dead gorgeous actors, killer fanservice.
Low points: dub-con between main characters, possibly manipulation, violence.
Story is alright, consistently interesting with some dubious contents/tropes, but that happens when you watch for the fantasy BL contents and not a real representation of life.
Casting Mew as Tharn is possibly the best thing the show did for itself. He's an amazing actor, and it seems he knows how to carry the momentum even after the show ended.
A bit meh on some of Type's characterization (a little violent and mean) but I love how fierce he is, so I'm confused. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you are soft and a pushover, so kudos to him.
Aside from the dub-con in early ep, Tharn is really sweet and a lot pitiful. Just, superb acting.
A little too much chit-chats/jokes between side characters to fill in that 2 x 12 episodes duration that I just skipped, sorry.
The ending is also meh since I feel the bad guy doesn't pay enough for what he did.

honest review
honestly all the bad reviews made me not want to watch it but as soon as you get past like the first 2 episodes it becomes really good! the extreme homophobia at first made me standoffish but honestly when you learn the backstory it starts to make sense & it’s cute to see how they slowly bond and how things turn out & the second season is even cuter because it shows how they developed as a person and a relationship but honestly overall I enjoyed this series and wish I could find another like itWas this review helpful to you?
actually overhated??♀️
It is VERY PROBLEMATIC and has a problem with consent / stereotypes typical of bl , but no more than other series that are still 'acclaimed by the public'!i dropped this series because it’s not my genre and i just don’t like this, but is not that bad, i genuinely think that LBC is a lot worse!!
the story of kengkla and techno is just a lot WORST at least in tharntype there’s not gaslighting and family that helps rape🤷🏻♀️
i wouldn’t recommend it! absolutely! but i don’t understand why all the “bl fans” only talk bad about tharntype and don’t really think about others series problems, and i swear THERE ARE MANY

Amazing, here's MY personal review:
This series, TharnType was my first ever BL series and it was like my Beginner type thing, anyways, as of Episode 1, it was AMAZING and it just drew me in to want to watch more and more of it, to tell you, the character Type is ABSOLUTLY FUNNY!!!!! The 7 FUNNIEST characters in the series are; Type, Techno, Type's dad, Khlui, Seo, Jeed and her Husband, with the TOP 3 FUNNIEST characters, in my perspective, in the series being, Type, Techno, and Type's Dad, they are SO DRAMATIC! it's an AMAZING watch. Tharn on the other hand, is so chill and so Funny, that secretive crush was cute, in the end of them falling in love and eventually being together (and getting married), additionally, Tharn is so supportive of Type 🤗It's also really funny how Tharn had 3 guys, Lhong, Tar, and Type, crushing on him all at once, though sad how Lhong and Tar had liked him so much and for so long, with Lhong being Tharn's best friend, and secretively liked him for so long, to watch Tharn fall in love with Type and them eventually getting married. To a point Tharn had been framed by Tar and Lhong (that bed scene closer to/at the end of S:1, where Tharn was struggling to get Tar off of him on the bed), and Tharn had to fight his best friend (on the road).
It's glad to see that type had overcame his traumatic past, and it was funny there in the ending of episode 6 or 7, after going out straight, (to his interpretation he was.... straight?) he came back a gay man 😂(not hating, it's funny to me bc he went out with some girl, and then came back begging for Tharn back)
Type is really his dad's son, they're both dramatic and funny, One of my favorite moments of them was then Type brought Tharn to his home where his dad and mom were, and on meeting his dad, his dad was expecting his "girlfriend", and was shocked to realize his "girlfriend" was Tharn, that reaction is 10/10 AMAZING!!!!
I still rewatch TharnType to this day, mostly the TharnType S:2, 7 Years of Love, their jealousy is cute, and it's so sad how Type was disliked/gossiped about in his job at the hospital, that made me so ANGRY at the characters gossiping him, and his manager who just put stuff on him, tiring him out 😭 I'm so happy his friend was the (CEO?)'s nephew 😂 JUSTICE ⚖
Regardless of their situation, Tharn was still Supportive of Type to the end, he kept trying to relieve Type of his stress, telling him to quit his job that he can support them both, and Type, even while still being so stubborn and with that annoying attitude, still endured all that negativity, gossip and unfairness from his workplace at the hospital, ensuring his HUSBAND, THARN, that he was okay and everything was Okay, Glad Justice eventually was achieved and that he quitted aswell.
AMAZING 100BILLION/10 MUST WATCH, it does include bed scenes and you WILL laugh alot, mostly at Techno! The music were AMAZING, the intro music was actually my favorite and I actually looked it up on YT, the music are so catchy and fun! The acting and cast did a FANTASTIC JOB in acting out this story, I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
I would rewatch this ALOT of times, it is AMAZING!!!!!

Amazing watch
My favourite bl that i have watched. The story is interesting, the actors chemistry is on point and it has the right amount of hotness 🔥🔥.It starts off pretty typical for a bl series. Type is aparently straight male that is extremely homoeopathic shares a room with a hot gay man (Tharn). He does everything he can think of to try and trade rooms or make Tharn move rooms, but eventually the two enjoy winding eachother up which leads to them becoming a couple.
Alot of peoples issues with this drama are about consent well lack of in some scenes. But if you arent easily offened or think to much into the issues, you will love it and you will binge watch season 2.
Highly recommend and definitely has a rewatch value.

My first favorite.
I don't know how to explain how I went from hating this series on the first episode to being completely in love with everything in this series by the end, but I'll try my best. The way I screamed when I saw the main couple from this series in Why R U? should indicate how in love I got.
At first I couldn't deal with the offensive names used in the series. But to anyone who wants to watch this, please... watch the second episode... keep watching. Everything is explained and it kinda makes sense. As a social psychology master, I can assure you...... it all makes sense.
This series touches some very important issues like internal homophobia, rape, abduction and toxic and abusive friends. However, I must say it portrayed these issues better than some darker and colder series. For some people this might make this series dramatic, for me it gave all characters depth and a reason to exist, a story to tell. Not just a love story, but a character development story.
All of the cast is unbelievably talented and the story is thought well enough that I couldn't predict any of the plot twists. To understand to the extent of how good the cast is you will have to watch this series but let me just say how sometimes, the characters didn't have to say anything for them to convey their emotions.
And for those who are wondering... it does have that spice that you don't find in many BLs. It might be weird of me to mention this. But like I say to all my friends, just like in a book there are ways and ways to write a kiss or a sex scene and sometimes it feels cringe or weird. In a BL series I feel the same way. It takes two really good actors and a really good script for a really good kiss or sex scene to occur. And this series leaves almost nothing to the imagination.
