The FL was amazing, the ml cute enough though I hated his and kwangsoos type castingSehun had so little scenes. Though I could proudly tell my mom that's our baby.
I don't like the other fl as an actress and I was meh about it but in the end it was cute especially sehunie's character being the cold chic dude softening up with her
The penguins were THE BEST. When the little dude slapped kwangsoo? Comedy GOLD❣
there were a couple of great Comedy scenes like when ML told kwangsoo to grab his neck amd kwangsoo strangled him🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tbh the graphics were cheap looking. Like pirates of the Caribbeans look better.. it just felt like they were on sets and in one scene the filter for the sky made a weird circle around fls head..

Reminds me of the Pirates of Carribean but this is a funnier version
It was a hilarious adventure movie that is good to watch with the family. There's nothing too different about the plot however the chemistry of the casts made it a fun movie to watch. I love how they interact with each other despite bickering and such, they got each others back. I also love the action scenes while they were fighting the see or swords fighting.Han HyoJoo portrayed the balance of a dependable captain. Kang HaNeul as a good leader and fighter. Lee KwangSoo as the same icon of betrayal from Running Man. Of course, the quiet but cool archer and fighter, SeHun. Love the casts really~
I recommend this movie for a family night if you just want to relax and laugh with your family.

Oops I discovered a Treasure
If you're looking for a super serious mystery treasurer hunting, this is not it. It is a hilarious, face paced, and entertaining adventure. The fights and action sequences are flashy (literally with lightning and explosions and pillars of fire). Lee Kwang Soo (Mak Yi) plays his usual underdog, comic relief and does it well. There is a good blend of back story to add depth but not enough to distract or slow the progression of the story. The dirt and mud makeup art is great - no one seems overly clean for aesthetic value. The jokes are entertaining twists but never crass. Everyone plays a part and nothing is extraneous. Has a lot of Jack Sparrow carefree, yolo vibes with a sense of comradery. Genuinely enjoyable to watch and you really root for them to succeed. Was this review helpful to you?

Rewatchable and Fun!
Hats off to all the actors, producers, writers and every member of the crew team. I couldn’t stop laughing and totally enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. All the actors did super well even Sehun who barely had lines and stood in a corner at times was still entertaining to see. The fight scenes were good and the comedic parts were just perfect. Really loved the use of cgi with the animals and fire etc… really brought the entire thing to life. This is definitely something you can sit and watch with your entire family and enjoy hands onWas this review helpful to you?
Swashbuckling guilty pleasures strike again!
Allow me to shamelessly give in to guilty pleasures! This isn't the movie to watch if you desire a high quality, high fantasy, Peter Jackson-esque pic. While we can all agree that the plot is pretty basic, the writing isn't perfect, and there were no Baeksang-worthy performances, NONE OF US watched this movie for that. Nope, we were looking for a GOOD TIME, for some fun adventures, for some thrilling action and for fabulous visuals. AND HELL IF THIS MOVIE DIDN'T DELIVER EXACTLY THAT.
The most tragic thing about Pirates 2, or any pirate movie ever, is that we'll unconsciously and involuntarily compare it to The Pirates of the Caribbean. Nearly everyone and their mom love that series (especially the first installment, The Curse of the Black Pearl). It's the most popular and the best-done movie (series) of the genre, after all. And every time we're ever gonna watch another pirate movie, we're actually attempting to recreate the joy of watching and loving tPotC for the first time. It's the same thing like when you're reading about a magic school and try very hard not to compare it to Hogwarts, but eventually that's exactly what you do. Because we all want to experience certain things again like it's the first time, so we can experience at maximum potential the joys and the shocks and the surprises that came with it. Pirates 2 is a really good pirate movie or, rather, would be a very good pirate movie if tPotC wasn't there to set up such huge standards for swashbuckling flicks.
Now, let's take it punctually: plot-wise, I couldn't give a damn if there were plot holes. Stories of this genre are developed around a very clear formula, which they hold on to very tightly. Basically, my expectations were met, considering they weren't like such huge expectations... My problem regarding the plot were some smaller scenes that had been added there for the sake of shock value and this is actually one of my pet peeves. If it doesn't help the plot or the development of the characters, DON'T FREAKING ADD THAT SCENE! (I'm looking at you 'whale' scene).
In terms of visuals, OH MY GOD this is one of the most beautiful movies, with the best cinematographies I've ever seen. If you're looking for something with beautiful colors, well-placed contrasts, superb games of hue and saturation, PLEASE watch this movie. It's so pretty!
The music was also really good. The score complimented the scenes so very well. I don't know how to better describe how I feel about the soundtrack, but I want you to know that it was stellar and, if not for the visuals, at least for the music, this movies deserves awards. MANY OF THEM.
Regarding the cast and their performances, I think I've already said my opinion above. The actors and actresses were good, well-immersed in their characters, but no particular performance was Baeksang-worthy. Sehun seems to be type-cast into quiet, strong, body-guard sort-of characters. But he does it well enough that I don't really mind. Chae Soo Bin was very endearing (though a bit 2D at times) and I love how her character created a nice balance with Han Hyo Joo's character. Kang Haneul was the star of the show and it was deservedly. It's my first time watching anything with this actor (I think), but he certainly caught my eye. He was so very good in his role, certainly the best one in the main cast. He embodied his character so darn well.
Overall, I'm absolutely recommending you this movie IF YOU DESIRE A VERY FUN EXPERIENCE, but not if you're looking for the nect tPotC or the next Peter Jackson-esque high fantasy.

Comical shenanigans
Very pleasing cast, who all threw themselves into their roles and seemed to have fun making this film.Perhaps it was a lack of concentration early on, but I found the start a little confusing at times. I also couldn't work out how a main character changed their location so suddenly, a little later on, too.
On these occasions I felt scenes were inconsistent and I thought I'd missed something.
The early part of the film was, for me, a bit slapstick, although those kind of laughs were used more sparingly, in latter scenes.
The SFX were at times a little hit and miss, yet at others very good.
Overall, it's a bit of fun and I did laugh. If taken for what it is; a flamboyant, haphazard, swashbuckling adventure with some giggles, then it's an enjoyable, even if imperfect, watch.

Is the treasure really gold or the friendship built along the way?
I was pleasently surprised by the film, read the synopsis and meh just for the cast I'll give it a go. However it was far from that, a great adventure comedy and really engaging.Acting was solid as expected, key reason why this film was a very funny one, facial expressions and tones were spectacular.
Kwang Soo was here so I expected this to be wayyy lighter than the original pirates, Which it does. this can be a bad or good thing but in this case it was good, if it leaned more to the serious side, It wouldn't have the same impact.
Production was an eye candy, the CGI and cinematography was well done, comparable to western pirate films.
It does get slower as it progresses, 140mins was too much.
Don't expect anything mind-blowing in terms of plot, cheesy ending, just the way you'd expect it, no plot twists or shocking revelations.
Something to take note is reading carefully the origin given at the beggining, will really come in handy as the problems start to occur.
I'm a sucker for action comedy movies, adding a pirate genre didn't hurt, overall I enjoyed the childish comedy and hunt for treasure, would have wanted to seen more Chae Soo Bin though.

A fun and delightful pirate comedy flick
I had so much expectations with this because of the trailer which looked pretty well made with the special effects and the star studded lineup of Kang Ha Neul, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Kwang Soo, Se Hun and Chae Soo Bin. I am not a big fan of Pirate flicks but this one was a fun and a delightful watch packed with amazing physical comedy by Kang Ha Neul and fun back and forth dialogue between the characters which made it funny and effective. The special effects is both good and bad, the good part of the special effects is how they made the sea which for me was realistic and somewhat beautiful but let's be real here that some scenes especially in the animals the special effect was bad and jarring maybe I'm just used to high end special effects from western movies that's why when I see a bad CGI effect it bugs me but it didn't really made a big impact for me personally. The story is quite fast paced, which for some might not be their taste but for me it's ok here even though, I really wanted to see the whole world develop, the character backstories and the antagonist be more fleshed out. Making this a series maybe 6 or 8 episode would be a delight but as a movie, it's great as well. Kang Ha Neul is obviously the star of the movie, such a great actor but Han Hyo Joon, Chae Soo Bin and Kwang Soo was also funny and great as well. I wanted to see more of Se Hun, I think he was just used as eye candy in this film which I'm not complaining, his little romance with Chae Soo Bin was cute. This was a fast paced, funny film jump packed with great acting but with inconsistent CGI and a story not really well fleshed out due to fast pacing. Was this review helpful to you?

"Plot What Plot" The Movie
What the actual hell did I just watch?I like several actors who are in it and I was excited to watch something with Sehun in it, but honestly without a stable plot it was hard to enjoy. The (and I hesitate to even call them this) emotional beats felt completely unearned and the music was a successful in copying Hans Zimmer without being sued. I did laugh at some of the utter nonsense i.e. the penguins, but at the same time I feel like I wasted two hours I could've spent watching literally anything else. Wouldn't recommend, but would recommend someone cutting the funny bits and making a compilation for people to watch and enjoy.

Lee Kwang soo
Korean Pirate of Caribic, but better. Story was originál for Korea movie industry. If there will be more story why pirates are pirates and thielf are thielfs, it would be great, but even without it the story was great. All main charakter did great job and bring great act skill, laught and also good fight. Lee Kwang so is the best of the best! This type of roles are the best for our Asian Prince, I am will be his forever fan. But others main actor was also great and even some of them dont have Big lines they was important. I really enjoy this movie! I looking forward If there will be part 3.Was this review helpful to you?
SOMEONE SAVE ME FROM THIS CRINGE!!
WARNING: THE EMBARRASSMENT LEVEL IN THIS MOVIE IS SECOND TO NONE!Before we get into details, let me tell you a single thing: This movie is worth it. It will surely deliver that good laugh and for viewers that notice same details, i promise you that you shall not be disappointed.
My story: I watched it on impulse. i saw it on my recs in Netflix and thought why not? Who knew i would be so invested in 15 mins.
The starting of the movie is quite hard to process but then things fix after the time slip (which comes in the first 3 mins so isnt a spoiler). Then things start to pick up speed. Slapstick was the language spoken and comedy was the language understood. Our ML and FL was *chef's kiss* but lets not forget the side heroes. MY DEAR GAWD. The situation was embarrassing but realistic and dumb. But what caught me was the ending. Unlike normal movies, this movie has a "rich happy ending" lets say?
Our ML and FL was great all thanks to KHN and HHJ which we kinda expected so i am not getting into it cause yall know. But the star of the show was LKS. My guy literally was mood throughout the show. CSB was me. Genuinely connected with her the whole show and we have the same taste in men too. I mean, come on, OSH was hot af. Silent but deadly, ever heard? The bandits turned pirates and pirates was band to be made in heaven. This stellar cast movie as far as i am concerned was BOOTIFUL.
This movie does however come close to Pirates of the Caribbean but not the same vibe. POTC is and always will be better since they got (drunk) Johnny Depp. The reason The Pirates: TLRT and POTC are almost close is because, again let me highlight, of their endings. POTC set the cliché but TP: TLRT set a different tone.
Why dont you guys try it? I bet a piece of eight you will love it!

a fun watch
it’s my second time watching this movie, I really like it. Saw that on Netflix while searching for something to watch and I remembered seeing this and I liked it, so I watched again. It has good actors and characters. I watched it maybe 2 years ago, i haven’t watched that many Kdramas back then and didn’t know many actors but now it was interesting to recognize the actors. I think the fighting scenes and cinematography are good. I like the plot and the music too.
I think it’s a pretty entertaining and a fun watch, I laugh a lot and I love the crew. The side romance is cute too + a good ending.
The scene that kills me the most is definitely when that guy finds the gold, the penguin slaps him, he slaps him back and the penguin slaps him again. I don’t know if I was just tired and laughing at anything tonight, but I laugh so hard at this scene and I watched it 3 times.
I’m a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and feel like there isn’t a lot of pirates movies, so I definitely enjoyed this. Just saw that there is a prequel and it’s on Viki so I can watch too. It’s not related, but doesn’t matter. It has Kim Nam Gil, so I definitely have to watch it.
I recommend this movie
