WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK: HEARTWARMING STORY THAT COULD MAKE YOU UGLY CRY ㅠㅠ

The movie I waited for so looong is finally here! I've been waiting for this movie since the trailer came out on YouTube and I just fell in love with the child actress and the overall storyline it's going to tell. This movie, surely amazes me.

Let's start off with the storyline. The storyline isn't cliche, I've never seen one movie with this kind of storyline, but it's a little predictable for me. But don't get me wrong, it still hits you in the feels. Trust me. If you're looking for something light, but could still make you ugly cry and bawling your eyes out, this is definitely for you. Don't forget to prepare boxes of tissues right beside you! ⚠️ SPOILER: The only bad thing about the whole plot is nearly in the ending, why would they spend 10 years searching for a man with their real name, but suddenly could remember that he could possibly use another name? I would classify the ending as a happy one to answer all of you who might be curious whether to watch this movie or not. ⚠️

The acting. Superb! The child actress, 10/10, Sung Dong-il, Kim Hee Won and Ha Ji Won are no doubt. Their acting were spot-on! I was amazed especially by the child actress. She could portray her characters so perfectly, so excellently, in such a young age! When it comes to the acting, everything's perfect for me.

Overall, a really great movie I truly recommend for all of you! I would rate this movie with 100 stars if I could. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reminder: Don’t skip the ending credits!! ;)

how can I be made to cry by this film (╥﹏╥) very impressive last film 2020

!!! if you watch this you really have to prepare a tissue,
I watch a lot of sad movies but this really makes me can't stop crying !!!

●about the story.........

"Sir, what does pawn mean?"
"Something that grows into a treasure"
THE WORDS SPOKEN IN THIS TRAILER CONVEY A DEEP MEANING, that this little child has finally become someone's treasure, which can no longer be replaced by anything and makes someone willing to do anything for him.

I don't know where to start because this could be a spoiler !?
This film tells the story of Doo Seok (Sung Dong Il) and Jong Bae (Kim Hee Won) who work as debt collectors who are willing to do anything for money.
At that time he won a debt to Myung Ja (Kim Yun Jin) because he could not pay it he was forced to take his son.Seung Yi (Park So Yi) as collateral.
and that's when their story started until I couldn't stop crying, why why ???
I am saddened by this film how the guarantee they can finally become a treasure for them...OMG

●about the players.......
I really like all the acting of the cast especially Sung Dong Il I always like what he's starring in like in the drama "reply". Kim Hee Won and Ha Ji Won, I watch a lot of their films and dramas. I like their chemistry and Park So Yi even though he still a kid wow he's so great

watch until 01:39:00 ONLY!

the poster was misleading, I thought I'd see han jiwan with the precious baby but she was the adult vr ;)
basically the first half, the first hour and a half was beautiful, Park So Yi was SO AMAZING! her crying was on point and her smiles lit up the world!

the story between this unlikely "family" was cliche but so touching that I just loved watching them until suddenly she became a teen then an adult and boom the story lost it's charm ;(

suddenly right after she called him dad the writer made him get into an accident and they lost him for 10 YEARS! then one day she remembers the nickname she gave him (10 years later!) and that's how they found him! sick and locked up in a mental hospital where he couldn't function! and before his accident suddenly had a terminal disease! what ridiculous blood boiling plot move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then in the ending credit she was getting married and had him marry her off and called it a happy ending when he didn't even REMEMBER his name let alone talk! how heart breakingly cheap!!!!!!!!!!!

I did hope it'd be sweet and funny for a rewatch but no, just no

Bawled my eyes out

Heartwarming, touching, and also heartbreaking, this movie made me cry like a baby. Sung Dong II and Kim Hee Won play two debt collectors who take a little girl (So Yi) away from their mother as collateral until she pays back her debt. The growing bond that forms between the gruff Sung Dong II and the little girl is what the story is about. The acting was fantastic from the entire cast especially Sung Dong II and Park So Yi. I'm amazed how that little girl could act with that range of emotions. Ha Ji Won plays the older version of the girl and she also acted really well , often bringing me to tears.
Definitely check this out if you like sentimental stories.

HOW NON BLOOD RELATED CAN CARE AND LOVE EACH OTHER AS FAMILY

this movie mostly contain about the flashback on how doo seok take care of seung yi since little because of the debt that seung yi mother has. its very heartwarming story on how seung yi struggle still little and hoe doo seok try to make her happy by putting so much effort. but for me the ending was kinda too simple and easy because it made me wonder like why seungyi spend years for doing something that can be solved easily. but the relationship between them its very beautiful towards the end. all the actor and actress really good but the child actor especially really good in potraying her characters.

Featured movie ♡

“Pawn” is an enjoyable outing by Dae Gyu-kang that often feels a little too ambitious for its own good, its narrative suffering as a result. In the same vein as Lee Hwan-kyung’s beloved “Miracle In Cell No. 7”, as well as Gyu-kang’s first feature “Harmony”, the film is built on the thematic basis of family, and the idea that it is a concept that reaches beyond blood. It’s unfortunate, then, that in an attempt to create a sprawling, years-long narrative, the film loses sight of the characters that are meant to represent its thematic intentions.

Gyu-kang rushes through plot points so hastily – expect a montage – that he ends up bypassing the relationship we should be most invested in: Doo-seok and Seung-mi. While the excellent lead performances make a lot out of a little, key character moments, that could flesh out the nuances of this relationship, are left on the cutting room floor, leaving us rooting for this unlikely duo, but not completely invested in their individual characters. Instead, Gyu-kang spends much of the runtime, specifically in the second half, searching for payoffs that don’t always feel earned – for the aforementioned reason. He churns out act-of-god-like contrivances after another in order to incentivise emotional catharsis from the characters, and therefore, the audience.

Fortunately, Director Dae’s heart is in the right place, as are the actors he has trusted with these characters. For all its narrative wonkiness and eye-rolling emotional coercion, the film is saved by earnest performances and an underlying message that, yes, is unremarkable, but carries a seasonal relevance that is hard not to be enamoured with.

Sung Dong-il snuggles into his role perfectly as the life-weary father-figure with a heart of gold, while Kim Yun-jin – Myung-ha, a mother at the end of her tether – and Ha Ji-won – Seung-mi, all grown up – are tasked with handling much of the film’s emotional baggage, which they do with admirable sincerity. Kim Hee-won is one-note as the archetypically slapstick Jong-bae, providing fine comic relief but is mainly there as third wheel to Doo-seok and Seung-mi’s father/daughter dynamic, which takes all priority. Though it’s Park So-yi as plucky young Seung-mi that really steals the show, brightening every scene she’s in with adorable expressions and playful dialogue that makes her the perfect Yin to Doo-seok’s cynical Yang. The heart of the picture, it’s no coincidence that the movie loses some of its entertainment value in the second half, once her all-too-short screen time is up.

“Pawn” proves to be a narratively wonky but heart-warming, chuckle-worthy tearjerker to watch with the family on a lazy Sunday afternoon, even if the second half of the film becomes the equivalent of an I Dare You Not To Cry video compilation. Like the best holiday films, “Pawn” will, if for a precious hour or two, bring your family closer together, whether they’re blood relatives, an all-woman prison choir, or apparently, your childhood kidnappers.^^
Overall, was such a heartwarming film that gives that feel-good vibes. I found myself smiling frequently, but also on the verge of tearing up as well. It’s a perfect family movie to watch with your loved ones.♡

If you want to feel the warmth of a fatherly relation, this is for you!!

9.04.24 03:53
First of all, I love the acting of all the cast starting from the kid to Mr. Doo Seok and every other character. They potrayed every character with all their best and it felt nothing less than natural.
I love the fact how that man changed for a small kid to give her a life and dedicate rest of his life towards her. He just proved once more that not every biological father can give dad love to their kids. Her life's tragedy was over ever since she met this guy. He is that guardian we all were required to fill up in our forms other than parents. And I believe he was the guardian angel of her life. It is heart warming how both the brothers gave such warm fatherly love to her.
Although this is acting but I believe there are people in real life who are like them dedicating their entire life for the sake of a budding life. He felt so proud when she called him her father for the first time. Also it is his ill-fate how his life turned around after that but I bawled so hard towards the end. This was damnnn emotional. Loved it.

heartwarming movie
