Dude , this started with a bang! in the first ep there is already a kissing scene.... But then it kindy went downhill from there... Honestly kinda on the fence as to liking or hating the drama. It's not a bad watch but the story felt kind of choppy.

Background/story; Female lead is Mi qi qi, she is from the witch tribe/clan. They are in danger so she gets sent away and her spirit gets into the main lead's empress body ( Chou Qing li ). She is know as the ugly empress. The main lead Lu Ao is the king or the Lord in the story. The male lead was poisoned when he was young as when he moon gets round her becomes a werewolf. He accidentally bits and slashed the chou qing li . After she falls in the water , that is when Mi Qi Qi comes in.

The female lead loses all her witch power so she basically is a normal person. She has a red jade with her. She somehow always ends up getting healed from major injuries. The first 10 episodes is a repeat of the evil people and the male lead trying to put her to the grave. It's kind of painful to watch over and over again , and so sad she gets tortured.
( she later finds. out that those incidents were caused by the male lead, he didnt want her to find out his wolf secret, but gradually he falls in love with her.

then comes ep 10- 20 - basic summary of she finds out that he was behind it all. She gets extremely mad at him and doesn't want to see him, no matter what he does being soft or being hard/harsh. She doesn't cave it. ( lol 10 episode of that is too much)

Chemistry- definitely some chemistry but at the same time I felt it was more of the male lead liking the female. Hence when they were kissing the female lead was kinda lacking emotions ... ( it might just be the portrayal of her character? )

ep 20- 36 revolved around trying to the second male trying to be the king. The evil second female lead trying her ways to get the power from the red jade and the sword. Other characters are introduced too. There is the female lead's brother( not blood related who she grew up with . A princess from some tribe , that the male lead knew when he was young. Female's lead brother and tribe princess also has a romantic development

Towards the end they reveal the female lead actually has another identity and through that identity she regains her with power back. And then you know what happens they get the throne back., and some other stuff . most important happy ending. If you are still ready kudos to you :)

Enjoyable drama

I started watching this about 2 months ago and have found it enjoyable. The male lead has mostly been in support roles (he's done great, btw) so I was delighted when i found this one via the recommendations. Thank you for that.
This one's good if you are into romantic comedies. The main leads have some chemistry and it shows. The 2nd leads (both male and female) have an interesting story which makes it fun to watch.
Personally i have watched this multiple times and enjoyed it every time.
Give this a try if you are itching for some lighthearted humor.

A nice and chill watch!

pros:
- easy storyline, nice and fast paced in the last 10 episodes.
- cute fluffy moments between the leads
- leads are very loyal to each other in the later half!! there are second leads but like they don’t cause too much trouble for the mains after a while.
- the wu ji and ling couple are the cutest <3
- HYX is quite possibly one of the most beautiful chinese actresses out there.
- loved the soundtrack!!! esp the theme song, i never skipped the theme song lol

cons:
- very obviously low budget. the costumes and makeup was sometimes a bit jarring. it’s not unwatchable though.
- draggy on the middle, i skipped loads. defo could have just done with 24 eps.
- ML was so abusive to FL in the first half, nearly ruined their chemistry for me.
- it’s nothing spectacular, like it’s an okay drama. i wouldn’t watch again but if you need something to pass time, or like a wind down drama because you have withdrawals from another one, this one is good.
- ending was happy but it was so rushed. a shame we never got to see into qiqi’s past properly and explore her mage powers.

looking forward to HYX’s future dramas!
and the guy that played Wu Ji defo needs a ML role soon.... ;)

overall, MDL rating is for once accurate. 7.5/10!

Three endings??

Rating this is challenging, specifically because there are three endings, and because watching this with Eng subs on youtube meant long instances of no audio. But I persevered!

The difference in all the episode 36 is within the last 10 seconds. No need to watch them all the way through.

Be warned one bad ending (36A) is a cliffhanger...no resolution in sight! The other, 36B is extremely sad.

When you get to episode 36, you might want to watch 36 A/B first then 36. If you just want the happy ending it is titles 36 or 36C.

Not good but not bad also

Starting was good one body shares two soul but this mystery not solve at the end that where the first one had gone or May be I didn't understand . So many cute scenes . Second lead's love story is cute . Background music is so soothing . About acting first female lead is the best . She is so cute and beautiful . Actually story had no impact but one time watch ,not get bore while watching it . Okay one.
Other actors acting were good. All support characters acting was also good. Who loves love story can go for it.

Need Work !

First thing the visual affect were terrible in this drama. I like the lead actress but her character was not a favorite. She seem strong and smart and then she seem submissive to everything. Every problem she just let it happen with no fighting back. The ML was cute and act first he was a royal with conviction but then he became a fool. The chemistry was cute and adorable but did not understand the story line with her always getting in to trouble or someone trying to kill her, and everyone believe FL did all the wrong doing but later was found innocent. after so many times no one question it. The story made no sense in many episode and it did not need to be so long. It seem as the writer try to stretch every situation to make the story longer but it did not work. it became boring. So many characters that made no sense in the story . So many bad guise you wonder who is the "BADEST". Many scene were cut short which lead to more confusion. It would try to be a comedy and it did not seem funny. I prefer the story about the ML and FL and not add so many complication. The brother to his majesty was cute and kind why make him a bad guide instead of keeping him as a loving brother and supportive to the king.

Skip all the ridiculous scenes between the ML and FL and this is a decent drama

I started watching this drama with minimal expectations--I just wanted to indulge in some brainless drama but it was so so so excruciating to watch as I went on. The ML & FL back and forth was senseless and honestly got old by episode 10 and I just skipped the scenes whenever they were on. I can't bear the toxicity of their relationship and I really hope women watching this don't think this is what love is supposed to look like. ?

However, I was curious about the overall storyline and the good part is that the FL builds relationships with the people around her, not just the ML. Her relationship with her maids is really cute and she really cares for them. The storyline with the evil characters is also interesting.

My favourite part of the story is between the second couple, Wuji and Princess Ling. They should have been the main couple, their story is way cuter and way less toxic compared to the main couple. What I really like about their story is that you can see their growth throughout the show. Ling can come off as pretty annoying at first--the bratty Princess archetype. But as I watched more and more of her, she really grew on me. Wuji looked pretty at first but didn't strike me as interesting, but seeing how he and Ling interacts, her playfulness brought out a more interesting and lively side of Wuji. Their scenes made me laugh, cry, and both at the same time.

If this drama was just Wuji and Ling, I would give it a 10/10. But with all the other extra fillers that made it 36 episodes, it's a 5/10.

Started off so well

This drama started of really well and then somehow it lost the plot and the episodes became draggy, plot was not making sense and characters were suddenly going in a different trajectory. All in all it was a mess. I liked the actors I think they did what they could with the Plot. There was a lot of repeated outfits at times It felt like they were wearing the same clothes for days.

The story was poor developed- this could have easily been 24 episode story rather than drag it on for 36.
I don’t know why people need self sacrifice for people to realise that the other loves them. I have this trait. Someone has to die or nearly be killed for th either.

Overall its okay to watch the soundtrack was forgettable.

Very good looking actors so this made it easy on the eye but that can only get you so far.

Some good romance scenes. I have to say a lot of Chinese dramas now do see the value of skinship and proper kisses.

A bit of fluff for when you don't want your brain working to hard.

This was neither the best of dramas nor the worse of dramas. It was light in the sense that it did not take itself very seriously. Even if its tagged with 'historical' drama, its best to think of this as period fantasy as it has little relationship with any historical reality (especially as regards female costuming). The plot was decent except for the SML (see comments below). I liked the witch tribe concept and the body switch in this one made reasonable sense (in as much as a body switch ever makes sense).

I liked the FL. She was cute and funny. The ML was the typical stern/severe type who gradually softens for his love. The SML was completely two-dimensional who made decisions that made absolutely no sense just to give the drama some conflict (as in, if he truly loved the FL, he would have known that being king meant nothing to her).

The ending is a choose-your-own adventure (at least on YouTube). I liked A and C versions the best, B was just sad. A sets you up for a sequel and C is a happy-ever-after ending.

I won't rewatch this one, even scenes between the leads, as it was just a fluff drama with nothing special, but nothing so horrible that I couldn't finish it.

Could be better!

OK this story had so much potential. But unfortunately someone just poured too much water into the story to pad It out.

So 1/2 of the story we have a love triangle. Then on top of that we have the 2 main characters trying to find out who they are from that past.

Overall the story wasn't bad I did have to persevere with it as I watched it from YouTube so we kept losing a lot of the audio So that was quite frustrating.

The actors played their part well they're very good actors It's just unfortunate that this drama just wasn't my cup of tea..

Watch the ending because there is a couple of different episodes to number 36.

I enjoyed this drama for the most part, though I think they could have done a lot better with it. The bare bones of the drama was a really interesting story/mystery, but I think they suffered from a low budget and poor writing. The main lead's wig took some getting used to - it came unnaturally far forward on his face, especially in front of and above his ears. And his look when he was "transformed" (trying to avoid spoilers, though I think you'll see it in the first episode) was downright ridiculous. They could have made him look cool like that, but instead it looked like a campy B-movie from the 1960s. The ladies' costumes looked like cheap prom dresses - some of them were pretty for sure, but they just looked cheap and not really historical (though I am willing to give some leeway to a fantasy drama when it comes to historical accuracy.) But one of the antagonists actually had a dress that had a visible zipper (a big white zipper) down the back of her dress! That's just tacky. None of the characters had many costumes - the leads had more than most, but even then I'm pretty sure for the male lead, they were reusing parts of his costume and just paring it with different overcoats. The female lead would commonly sleep in her clothes, which was weird, especially since they actually mentioned once that she had fallen asleep without changing her clothes, as if that wasn't a common occurrence. Probably my main issue though is that they dressed the dowager consort and did her makeup like a hooker. Like her makeup is really what made her look old - it looked like really heavy makeup from the 1980s or something. And they'd always put her in really cheap strapless/sleeveless dresses. She just looked ridiculous.

Story-wise, I don't think the writing was good at all. The story supposedly took place within just 2-3 months I think. But that first month, SO much happened that it just wasn't plausible that it was only a month. Someone got stabbed (deeply) in his left shoulder but was up and about with no problem within a short period of time, like it never happened. And someone died and they were all weeping and oh-so-sad but barely one scene later they were all laughing and joking and they never talked about him again. Stuff like that kept happening - I was literally shocked when an episode showed that it had only been a month - it just wasn't realistic that only a month had passed. The bare-bones of the story were great, the writers just didn't do a great job of fleshing the story out in a realistic way.

Whoever was in charge of consistency between scenes didn't do a great job. Like they'd have rushed away from town/home wearing one outfit and not carrying anything with them, but the next scene, while they're still away, they're wearing a different outfit? Or someone's hair goes from a mess to suddenly fixed nicely w/ accessories, despite being in the middle of nowhere with no one to do her hair.

Despite all that, I kept watching, mostly because the episodes were relatively short and there weren't that many of them. It was kind of a fun watch - there were some funny moments and some sweet moments. I certainly don't think it's the best drama I've ever watched, but I've also seen worse - I would have stopped watching if it was absolutely terrible. I mostly kept watching b/c I had seen a clip of a scene towards the end that made the drama look interesting, so I kept watching just to see how the mystery unfolded. It turned out to be a relatively minor part of the series, but I don't regret watching. It's fun if you have a little bit of time and enjoy fantasy stuff.

Very disappointed

The story is really disappointing me. So much nonsense illogical episodes or scenses..
Its easy to get piss with this drama. And the girl main actrice role its full of stupidies and a complete idiote in so simple matters. She forgive the unforgiveable in so easy way, she has no character or personalities, people get hurt or dead around her because of her fullness and stipidities. The king its event better that can even see the obvious. She was in love with the king brother and 5 min later with the king..... and the dresses on this drama are so inappropriate and ridiculous. This drama piss me of greatly. Sesonde consort almost can kill someone and get send home 'unbelievable!!!!!!
