Find True Love/ Different World
First- it's really hard to trust. Second- we become compliant as needed. Third- someone will suddenly come into our lives, to change the world full of error. Fourth- learn to love even when there are many obstacles. Fifth- trust the true feelings. Sixth- weak person but be brave to get the person you love. Seventh- hurt and be strong for the good of all. Eighth- face the fear for a different world. Ninth- it's hard to lose the person you love. And tenth- Sad and waiting for the opportunity again, to meet again at the right time. A story that proves that, even though you are a different world, the impossible will be possible. Because of love, if you feel that way, no matter what pain and problems, you can. Shuangshuang and Xiaoqian should've been lovers.
This is yet another remake of the 1987 Hong Kong Original film, A Chinese Ghost Story. I’ve never seen the original so I can’t do a comparison in that sense, but I can and will judge this movie as it’s own product.First things first, the story is not unique as it’s a remake, but even in this aspect, it still fell very flat imo. I think that the romance was severely underdeveloped between Cai Chen and Xiao Qian and that’s supposed to be the entire selling point of this movie. I don’t know when or how he fell in love with her, I don’t know why she fell for him. Honestly, nothing made sense in the story overall. I wish that there was some explanation as to why the Heishan Demon was so adamant in marrying her? Like she ain’t all that. The only thing I know for a fact about this story is that Shuangshuang is 1000% a lesbian and deserved to have been with Xiao Qian instead.. The chemistry was so good.
Story aside, the cinematography and cgi were also not the best in the beginning and overall I thought that was done a bit poorly as well. I think the scenes that are the best with the cgi are the ones when the lesbian ghosts (yes that what I’m calling them) were in that nether realm. Even the big climatic end of seeing the demon, all I could think was that it was mega Groot. It truly looked so cartoonish. An upside to this movie would be the delivery of the actors, but unfortunately wasn’t enough to save the entirety of this. I really think that if Eleanor has more chemistry with Oliver that it could’ve been better, but it was drier than the Sahara Desert up in here.
So like overall, it’s an okay movie. It’s not painstakingly terrible, but it’s not good either. I think that if they had killed Cai Chen at the end, everything would’ve been worthwhile. I mean lesbihonest, Shuangshuang and Xiao Qian were the better love story. GAY RIGHTS!!!

Haven't Seen the Original.
I have never watched a Chinese Ghost Story. I've seen reviews from people who compare the two. If you want to read a comparison then sorry this is not the review. With this in mind let's get started.STORY:
I wasn't expecting much due to the cliché sounding title but after watching the intro I WAS HOOKED. The story was beautiful! I didn't cry but I did have mini rants here and there. I like how you were able to see the negative and positive attributes within each character. Usually when I was movies like this they hype up the negative traits or they hype the positive traits. I like how these characters had a balance. The characters seemed more relatable and human.
CAST AND ACTING:
I didn't know any of the actors/actresses in this movie but they had a nice chemistry. Nothing seemed forced.
MUSIC:
In my opinion, music is a pass or fail. Pass means I remember the songs. Fail meaning they will never be stored in my long term memory. With that being said, the music FAILED!
REWATCH VALUE:
I see myself watching it again but it wouldn't be often. This is movie is great but if you watch it a lot it'll get stale and boring.

It doesn't spark me as much joy as it could have. Maybe it's because I knew Eleanor from her high school drama, it felt way too odd for me. I wasn't really paying attention, either. Eleanor can act well, but the romance feels a bit too forced. They fall in love at first sight? Okay, but suddenly this guy wants to give up everything. including his own life just to save a girl you just met? No, prioritize your life over saving others. You can't save someone without caring yours first.Too forced.

Willing to do crazy things for loved ones despite the worst consequences, losing their own lives..
The storyline isn't new but the actors convey it in a good way and delivered very well, I like the visual effects that are displayed.
Actually, I'm a fan of Li Kaixin, and one of the reasons I watch this movie is because of her.. But this movie made me fall in love, this is a good movie and don't hesitate.. It won't waste your time because it's worth it.
I love Eleanor lee??
