Both dramas have a prickly, loner lead who can see ghosts whose world is interrupted when the other lead enters their lives. Both dramas have fantasy and horror elements, as well as character growth for both leads.

Ghost love stories~ what would happen if you fell in love with a ghost??? Both drama deal with this question. Though one is contemporary and the other is historical one can feel the dedication of the mls to not let go of their love despite the obvious adversities. They also have their fair share of comedy.

Both dramas are a mix of comedy, fantasy, horror, mystery, and romance. The MLs are prickly, initially obnoxious, and arrogant, hiding past pain over how they've been treated by society and/or loss. The MLs can see ghosts and have a ghost/several ghosts who they live and work with. The FLs are tough and outspoken. Both dramas involve reincarnation, evil spirits, and historical elements (flashbacks of FNOS vs. all of AATM).

Both dramas are historical, although different time periods, and horror/fantasy involving ghosts, gods, and other supernatural beings as well as locations. Both couples are antagonistic at first with a slow burn romance as the plot unfolds.

Supernatural, spunky female lead (ghost in Arang, mermaid in Legend) with a male lead that starts off indifferent but changes because of the female. Both males have to protect the females throughout the drama. Both males are also looking for their mothers. Both have fantasy, mystery, comedy, drama and romance, and both are based off Korean folktales.

Arang is a supernatural drama featuring ghosts, gods, evil, revenge and redemption. It definitely has a more comedic element than what we see in Black Knight thus far but there is also melo and eventually a beautiful romance. If you are a fan of supernatural dramas, I have found Arang to be one of the most satisfactory k-dramas of that genre.
