This is worth watching if you love suspense/thriller dramas!! From episode 1 to 16 you're on edge and keep wanting more! The acting is powerful and soooooo well performed!! The cast is perfect from policewoman.man to killers...wow. From kids actresses/actors to adults actresses/actors...wow. And the plot, there's no 'useless episode'. All the episodes are important for the development of the story. Every second was well thought.

Watched it in two days. Now I am actually sad I've finished it so quickly!
AAAH I LOVED IT. I would definitely rewatch it.
OCN never disappoints.

This was great to watch after all the romance dramas and cutesy couples.
It was intense and storyline really interesting and keeping in the edge.
BUT it did felt like something was missing, I really don't know what but after the last episode it did felt a little bit rushed and not satisfying.
That I wouldn't mind a second season.

SPOILER

But the biggest thing that took my interest was Eum Moon Suk his acting was really captivating and interesting. I can't believe he has been appearing in movie/dramas only three years. His acting and portrayal were amazing. How could he change up his character so easily between the friendly cop and serial killer? I cant wait to see his upcoming dramas and movies.

I quite liked this for about first 6-8 episodes, but then it started going downhill. At beginning, I enjoyed the cases and, although characters could be frustrating, I liked them well enough. But as things progressed, the plot got more and more ridiculous and needlessly convoluted. I mean how many serial killers do you expect me to believe are in this one city?! Furthermore, I hate when police are shown be absolutely incapable and is the worst case of that in any drama I've seen. I might have been able to forgive that, but the characters mostly became awful after that as well. Several innocent people die directly as a consequence of our main character's actions - he doesn't seem to care and is never held accountable. Not only were they unlikable, but also super inconsistent. I don't mind gray characters, but at least let their actions make sense!

Acting was pretty good and the music was fine. But all in all, I definitely do not recommend this drama. Don't waste your time, there are much better crime dramas out there.

I started watching this drama with no expectations which is probably the reason why I managed to thoroughly enjoy it. The description wasn’t really detailed but another police drama, sure, I’ll give it a go.

And oh boy, did I get hooked.
Cha Soo Young is a character I had a love hate relationship with. You can see how genuine and determined she was but sometimes I thought to myself “how the heck did she manage to finish the police academy.” In the end, I ended up actually adoring her. (Bonus points for actually resembling a detective and not a runway model from a Police themed collection!)

Hwang Hwa Young is a character who didn’t manage to have her full story told and I am a bit disappointed, although I absolutely loved Jin Seo Yun’s acting and the portrayal of the character! I always appreciate a strong woman in a drama and she definitely delivered.

Oh Hyun Jae is just a whole rollercoaster ride, that’s all I am going to say. (Jang Hyuk’s acting was also amazing, God, it was so good.)

I liked the storyline, but I feel like the writers had too many ideas at once and instead of narrowing them down, they just rolled along with everything. I felt like a lot of backstories were only partially told, I wanted to know more about the Ji Min and Chief relationship, the relationship between Hwa Young and Yi Soo. The ending felt like it was rushed, as if they wanted to expand more but they ran out of tape or something.

Aside from that, I absolutely loved the chemistry and the subtle portrayals of friendship and closeness between character, especially Hwa Young and Detective Man Soo, and just Team 2 in general, but that’s just probably me. I also really enjoyed the weird relationship between Soo Young and Hyun Jae, especially in the last episode.

My advice to anyone wanting to watch it: start it with absolutely zero expectations and just go with it. A lot of people seem to have had high hopes and ended up disappointed but I found this drama to be pretty enjoyable and involving.

It was extremely good crime drama except final 2 episodes. Their i think writer switched off their brain and did a story round off. Every scene in those 2 episodes has either logical or story or time line or some other irregularities. Some to point. 1. Senior officer telling team 2 to kill their colleagues. 2 profiler teaching teens where as by time-line he himself should be in college. 3 team leader unable to shot criminal on shoulder when he has remote switch not Deadman switch of a bomb. 4 profiler leaving clues for team one then blocking them with no palpable reason. The list is too long...

Jang Hyuk is a brilliant actor and one of my favorites. The rest of the cast was also good, writing was until last episodes, and the series worked well for me until the last few episodes when there was so much violence it felt way over the top. Then there were repeated scenes like they were running out of steam. And, seriously, a cop who holds a gun on a really bad guy repeatedly yet never pulls the trigger. At any rate, mostly a good series with the too-frequent series issues of not being able to remain great until the end.

Amazing drama with an amazing villain

Tell Me What You Saw is a South Korean drama with thriller and crime investigation elements that's directed by Lee Jong Hyeong. While the synopsis given on My Drama List and Viki doesn't make it sound like anything exceptional to other dramas, it's actually a very well-written and executed story with superb acting, that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Before getting addicted to this amazing show, I stopped watching two other dramas with good premises because of a few things that I found annoying- in both of them the detectives lost their wives which was what would drive them to do what they had to in order to catch the killer but they would also ignore anything the main female lead would tell them in order to help them. I was so glad when this turned out to NOT be the case with Oh Hyun Jae who also lost his wife because of the serial killer. While it did drive him to find the culprit and punish him, he wasn't acting irrationally and it wasn't what motivated him to be a good profiler, he was already all of these things and his motivation only made him stronger. This is probably the most absurd movie I've ever seen. The whole time I was wondering if it was some kind of parody.

What are the chances of meeting so many psychopaths in one city and a special investigative unit made up of the stupidest cops?

The lead female cop in the leather coat comes across as the most badass, but when she meets the killer she shits her pants and lets him get away.

Every secondary killer basically kills with a hammer.

Poor silent kid is kidnapped by psychopath 1, within 24 hours he gets to psychopath 2, and meanwhile psychopath 3 buries psychopath 1. Seriously?

The body is hanging in the woods 2 meters above the ground in a tree with no lower branches and it's closed as a suicide.

And there's plenty of nonsense like that.
Whoever wrote the script probably drank a lot of soju, otherwise I can't explain it.

At first a few bad plot devices bothered me. But the pace was good, the suspense was there and the cast acted well together.

After the mid-part the actions of some main characters became inconsistent and illogical. It makes sense if they are mentally ill, but they were not presented like that. Still the good parts prevented me from dropping and the pace picked up.

Then towards the end nothing makes sense anymore. I almost rooted for the evil guy since the other characters were not much better than him :
- The male lead continues to be obsessed over something stupid and irrelevant and disaster follows.
- The team leader wants to cover the sky with her hands to hide her story but if she only tells the truth it will hurt for a few minutes then she will be relieved and everyone will forgive her.
- Everybody think he/she can be alone with the most vicious criminal (but to arrest some other characters they deploy 50 policemen)... Well some tried that before and nobody's there to talk about it...

In conclusion I had to drop the show at episode 14. It was a really good show on many aspects, and if you can put up with nonsense you might be able to watch it until the end.

This series is so far the most exciting series i saw from any kdrama so far.. I haven't skipped any episodes.
I hope writers would maintain the goodness in every episodes, the unique patterns of every crimes, the different strategies the profiler shows.
I usually skip episodes on kdramas everytime it gets boring..but this one. I never get to skip one., I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes actually...
i hope this would be shown on netflix so it gets more viewers.. This one deserves a spot.
It's actually my first time to see Choi Soo young, and her acting needs improvement. but overall it's good (the story).
I often watch jang Hyuk's series and it's the reason why i stumbled to this one.
The story is about a young detective who has photographic memory and a top criminal profiler who joined forces
to solve crimes.

Not bad but not good.

Well, I'm pretty mixed on this series and I might be one of the few people who think this way.

This is the story of Oh Hyun Jae who used to be a top criminal profiler, but one day an explosion, caused by a serial killer, ended the life of his fiancé. After the horrific incident, Oh Hyun Jae vanished and he now lives in seclusion. Meanwhile, Cha Soo Young is a police officer in the countryside. She has a special ability which allows her to remember exactly everything she sees. Due to her special ability, she is selected as a rookie detective who will partner with Oh Hyun Jae informally.

For starters, I think the show seems a bit all over the place with the story overall, like the script, the plots and sub-plots, too much estranged. Also, the killers have little light and they're pretty much cartoonish - the insane laughter, the grandiosity, the wish to be the best.
As for the "main" killer, I figured out who he was basically three or four episodes before he was revealed, honestly it wasn't hard and the twist wasn't there. But he was the most interesting character of the whole cast, because he was precise, calm and intelligent.
By the way, the killers aren't the only ones too theatrical, the character Oh Hyun Jae was too, too dramatic, emphasizing a lot on his "mystery", like over the top, really playing too much on the behavior, the intonations. Also his monologues which explained the whole situation were frankly cringe and moreover, it does not let the audience think.

Their superiors are self-centered jerks, really it's for the biggest surprise that the female lead, actress Cha Soo Young is the one who saves the drama, her character is relatable, she tries to do her best but doesn't get enough light, and I have found that her colleagues are also the nicest to watch and her relation to her father.

I really feel like overall this series was empty, very little realism, far too much fiction. I couldn't empathize with Oh Hyun Jae, even for his profiler character while I love profilers, also he made me feel like he was more a mentalist than a profiler. The story is based on this killer and the truth of the events that took place 5 years ago, but the show really lacks substance and flavor. As for the end, the epitome of cringiness.

A disappointment to be honest, because the actor who plays Oh Hyun Jae, Jang Hyuk was excellent in his role in Voice, so I expected a lot but he missed the boat. I really finished the series to finish it, but god it was slow, messy and boring, the bad acting of most of the actors really didn't help.

Afterwards, I'm sure that the series can appeal to others, it's quite pleasant to watch - overall - but personally, I haven't seen anything in particular that would make this series stand out.
So do I recommend ? I would say yes, some people will probably find this series fantastic to discover and I think it can fill the time if you are bored, but hey, it's not a masterpiece or a chef d'oeuvre, I have seen a lot better in terms of thrillers produced by South Korea.

This drama is not the best at its game. But it is still enjoyable.

It is gruesome, one of the most gruesome K Drama I've ever watched, and I've watched many, imo. Besides that, the writer tried to infuse life lessons all over it. I think, it focused too much on independent, pretty unrelevant cases. But those cases are still fun to watch. You can expect layers of villains. Plots. Some characters were well written, some are forgotten. Even though they were pretty pivotal. And the fight between police officers were annoying. At the end of the drama, they even abandon their morality lol just to cover things up.

The acting is awesome, even though sometimes CSY and HHY seemed a little bit off, but they are still amazing. Jang hyuk is good, as always. The villains is amazing.

The dark vibes were consolidated with the music. It was befitting and nice.

Conclusion: if you're only watching crime drama, definitely watch this. If you want to watch this drama without knowing the usual crime kdrama, consider watching this, but this is not the best.
