The most underrated drama ever
One of the best c-dramas I have ever watched. The cast is stellar and the story just moving. One might think the story is cliched but the endearment behind it is heartbreaking. How a butterfly effect falls into motion.Simply a must watch. Nie Yuan is spectacular in this drama. I cried so many times and laughed as much.
Overall, I would say it is a must watch for drama lovers. How an ordinarily extraordinary doctor ends up that way is something I could believe. The female characters are not all negative, all points considered, this drama brings out the human nature, the good, the bad and the ugly of it

Every life is important
I really like this series, it teaches us values how to treat each person, young and old. To value every persons life and time not to be wasted. To be honest in everything you do. To be fair in every decision to make. Patience is also there. To sacrifice for the sake of your family. Work hard to attain your goal in life. Be ready to helpl in your community and environment. That Happiness is always there after sadness. I love to see tandem of Nie Yuan and Wu Jinyan. After Story of yanxi palace and Legend of Hao lan, this is their 3rd team up on tv. Good people deserve Happiness
The story is about a policewoman who dreamed of becoming a detective and a doctor who lost everything because of a bad colleagues and his woman.The Doctor married another doctor who was pregnant with her former husband's child. He had a crush on her since college days so despite her situation, he still married her. They eventually got divorced.
The poilce woman and the doctor had several encounters during the doctor's most devastating time. She always helped him, but somehow had the wrong impression of him as being an incompetent man. He was annoyed by her constant interference of trying to be his sponsor to better his life. This a very slow cooking romance. This is a story of a good man's struggle in life. The FL is like the Knight here, saving and helping the ML.

very slow erratic romance one wonders if it's actually moving
After watching The Story of Yanxi Palace I was very happy to find this title with the same great main leads. They are lovely together no doubt, however, I had to plow through this drama and I was able to reach the end by skipping a lot. I understand the appeal for those that enjoy this type of plot, but for those that prefer a better definition of feelings and certainty from the main leads, less injustice, and less frustration then this might not be for you.Another puzzling factor was that I found most of the "reasons" for main events to happen quite weak and often not making sense with the star one being the fact that for half of the drama the FL is always working and couldn't even go through a complete dinner date with her boyfriend and the other half she is just helping taking care of the Granpa and grandson and not working at all. Since I skipped a lot I might have missed an essential explanation, but still, the contrast is just too striking.
I will not go lower than 7 because of the main leads, Granpa and grandson but overall for me, it was quite disappointing bland, and frustrating.

A Dog's (Doormat's) story!
Personally I loved the plot but hated the script and direction.ML is like a dog going around adding more and more bad experiences. Like a doormat he kept getting walked over without clearing up misunderstandings.
He practically lets everyone walk over his life and accepts that as norm. I should say this drama even with huge potential was an ocean of triggers. Throughout the entire story its explicit that ML is ineligible personally, professionally and emotionally to the second FL. The second FL is justified well but ML is not. And that's one of the main drawbacks of this script. Also the FL is a 'liberal bully'.
'Speak up! Stand up for yourself! Don't be a P-cat ' were some of the 'not-so-innocent' words came out of me while watching this drama.
If I could express the lesson from this story it goes like this 'Don't be a push-over. Ever. '

Pretty Memorable Drama
It has been a few years since I watch this drama, think its a great time to write this review after this long.The drama started of strong, but after that, basically ML's life starts to tumble for pretty much the entire drama. What stands out is the relationship between FL and ML, where both helps each other throughout the whole story. The ending also could have been much, much better. Something that rewards us who have stick through the entire series because it has been a really really draggy one, something sweet to end it would have been really good.
However, this is a personal thing, the theme song isnstill stuck in my brain after so long, ocassionally popping out of nowhere...and this is why I remember the series till now.
Overall, scores has been placed. I doubt I will be watching again, but well...who knows.
