"It was not that I didn't love you, you were just to heavy"

I've never been this happy with a sequel or a series-ending in my entire k-drama life, it was perfect and they finished all of the stories beautifully! 10/10
They perfectly satesfied every stories ending, Kim Jojo's past, all of the final relationships (even the losing loveintrest's one). I can not immagine a better ending or a better conclustion to this story! Cried multiple times!
I love how she faces her past alone, without the need of a man guiding her, but that she can still have support when she herself got to get over and face her past.
I finished the entire series on the day which it was released, and do not regret a thing, might rewatch asap.

Messy but pretty to look at

Aesthetically this was different from the first season for sure, but it was still pretty to look at despite the different style, and the sketches were reminiscent of It's Okay to Not Be Okay.

The story was a real mess though, in terms of romance, the traumatic backstory, and the social commentary. It just felt like there was zero continuity with the first season. They completely dropped the ball on Jojo's backstory when it was such a big part of her trauma and decision-making.

Big questions around Love Alarm were about the role of technology in modern romance, privacy, the pressure of being perfect on social media, imposter syndrome, etc. and I had been really excited for it to delve deeper into a society so reliant on it, but they never really did. A lot of characters and plots weren't explained well and everything just felt all over the place.

Instead, the drama focused so much on a love triangle that wasn't really there to begin with, starting this season. The characters had little to no character development and were kind of brushed to the side, with a sprinkle of backstory here or there.

An Unwanted Sequel

233rd Review of Love Alarm 2 tells a lot about how this show has impacted many, mostly disappointment. Lot has been said already; here are my two thoughts.

One, What could have be completed in just two more episodes of season 1 had been dragged out for about 2 years (Even my tastes of kdrama has changed.) and 6 episode (really?) . That's what many kdramas do, adding a time jump and voila, a decent closure. But no, Love alarm, the very un-kdrama-ish kdrama, somehow tries something new: season format. And the result is obvious.

Two, if it weren't for Cheon Duk Goo, I would have totally abandoned this. CDG's closure was a mediocre but it was probably the only decent thing season 2 could offer. As for others, even 5 years time jump doesn't seem to mature these characters. They are still stuck in their sorrows of their own making. But somehow a couple of events make them grow up. Nah, I couldn't buy that.

Might be an unpopular opinion but hear me out

Seeing the array of negative reviews, I felt compelled to write this. I will try to keep this short:

-If you are Team Sun Oh, you’ll prefer season 1, if you are Team Hye Hyeong you’ll prefer season 2.
-If you’re just in it for the ride and are not fixated on either guys, season 2 is slow, but it surely takes a more realistic and mature approach and provides closure to all main characters (or even support) and gives them satisfying endings in my opinion.

I could somehow empathise and understand each character better this season. I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I would even go ahead and say I liked this season more. The cinematography and music was very fitting as well and surely made the show better to watch.

I fully understand why people wouldn’t like how things wrapped here but in my eyes it made complete sense. If you watch the whole season without skipping any episodes or spoiling the ending for yourself you’ll maybe appreciate it a little better.

What a Kill Joy!

I was excited about this release and even waited when my schedule was completely clear to watch this. I might be a bit too brutal because I thought it was a waste of my time! There was no regard to Sun Oh's feelings! He went through absolutely too much because of Jojo for no reason at all! This amount of hurt was undeserving especially since he was her first love. Then she fell for the guy who in my opinion, stuck around like a damn shit fly until he grew on her. To me even this was a bit too unrealistic! #TeamSunOh

the ending was sooo disappointing :(

the plot was sooo clever and i really enjoyed the story line but the ending to me made the whole show a waste of time. i wish duk ju was given a back story and the new ceo of love alarm app. the whole reason why jojo and sun ho broke up was pathetic and unrealistic. she only liked the other man because she pitied him. really disappointed and hoped for better honestly. i know the ending was already planned from the webtoon it was based off but i was hoping similar to the true beauty, they were going to change it up a bit to suit what the fans wanted. they did not do this and all the reviews i have read have mentioned that they feel like they have wasted their day watching this kdrama!

Season 1 was way more better!!!!

Season 2 story is a trash (first) Sunho wanted to be with his love buit got walked over completly (second) Jojo is as messy as season 1 she doesn't think before she makes action she stabed sunho in his heart (third) Hye young is not much better as in the first season he is nothing he got everthing he wanted he got the girl and stabed sunho in the back.

I wish the first season could have a happy ending but no the must have made a second season and the second season is a completly trash.

Why must have Hye young to have everthing in the end this story should have end with sunho and jojo happy ending why did that hye young come between them. I really don't understand that why he got the spot light in the second season this is not really worth to watch the first season i could watch it again but the second season is not something to watch again.

Beautiful Story about self-love and acceptance...

Okay, I normally do not write reviews, but since this second installment of the series is getting a lot of hate I felt I had to. First, can we just appreciate all of the cast members and production team? They worked really hard on this show and I fell in love with each of the characters. Seriously, they deserve some appreciation for their efforts.
Second, as someone who has watched the first season of Love Alarm, I can agree that JoJo broke up with Sun Oh immaturely, but I can understand her reasons. It was JoJo's defense mechanism to protect herself and the ones she loved. Imagine society ridiculing you and judging you just because you survived a traumatic experience. The pressure can be stifling. Can you blame her?! After watching the first season, I immediately knew that the moral of this series was going to be that feelings of love cannot be too dependent on machines and that feelings are complicated, this drama portrayed that beautifully. While I was initially angry at JoJo for using the spear to convey her feelings, it struck me that the spear symbolized autonomy and freedom of choice as long as you take responsibility for your choices. Others may have watched the reveal for the main leads and couples, but I watched it for the deep personal growth of each character. I absolutely loved the character development of JoJo. As someone studying play therapy, it is said that for us to move on as adults, we have to learn how to accept the pain and hurt of our inner child before we can move forward and grow. This scene absolutely had me tearing up. A message that I would like to leave for the young JoJo: "you did so well, it wasn't your fault and accidents happen in life. You are beautiful and deserve to be loved. Always remember that you are enough and worth it." Personally, this is something I have not come to terms with myself. I struggle with certain aspects of my disability and the concept of self-love just as JoJo does. My heart was overwhelmed when I found out Duk-Gu, the founding developer of love alarm was still alive. Thank you for remaining strong and a figure of support for the main characters. Thank you for being alive you are one-of-a-kind and cannot be replaced. I actually enjoyed the central plot twists in this show. The music for this series is astounding and I felt like it matched the scenes quite well. I encourage people to watch season 2 of this drama and they want a show that focuses on character development and growth. As the director said season two will mainly focus on the maturity of the characters and they did not disappoint. I enjoyed watching all of the characters overcome their personal struggles. It was something beautiful to watch and I will not forget it. Personally, I felt it was worth the two-year wait and they ended the series beautifully. Sorry for the long review, but I wanted to show my support for this drama because I cannot believe how much it is being bashed. I tried my best to keep it spoiler-free.
Thank you to everyone who worked on this show your efforts are greatly appreciated.

I wish I could unsee this season

A complete disappointment. I'll just go on and say that it's a total waste of time. I seriously waited nearly two years for this...? I feel so let down. The story didn't make sense and I seriously can't understand anyone who actually liked it. Jojo is probably the most idiotic character of the century. I honestly couldn't relate to her whatsoever. I also didn't like the flow of the story since it felt somewhat rushed. It was hard for me to ship her with HY because there was no proper pacing in the way their relationship was brought up. It felt like they were so desperately trying to push them down my throat. Honestly, what's wrong with the script? They seriously could have done better. The actors on the other hand were great! If they ever decide to make a third season, I can't guarantee that I'll watch it and I wouldn't be surprised if no one is enthusiastic about this idea. They sincerely should leave it at that and accept that this season was a disaster. I don't recommend this season and I sincerely wish I could unsee it.

Quite unnecessary

What bothered me about this season wasn't that she ended up with the second lead, but that there was so many unnecessary parts to this season.

There was a murderer for some reason that was used as a vehicle to let Jojo come to terms with her past and her true feelings for Hye-yeong. However, I believe she could have figured it out with there being a murderer inspired by her drawings.

Sun-oh's endgame relationship was not needed as it seemed like they just wanted him to end up with somebody so the viewers would be satisfied but it was rushed and awkward.

The inclusion of Hye-yeong's father being in prison was also unnecessary and didn't add anything to the plot whatsoever.

Overall the only reason for the second season was to find out who Jojo decides was the best option for her which would not have been enough for a whole season so they added in whatever they wanted

SERIOUSLY???

I have been waiting for Season 2 and all I get was that??
Honestly, I didn't really felt like finishing Season 1. At first, I was like, what in the world is this? The plot is a little bit cliche but the content of the story isn't. It took me about 5 attempts to finally move on from Episode 2 of Season 1 but as the story progressed, I became invested in the episode. I sincerely loved it! The ending left me hanging and so as disappointed as I was for not being able to move on to the next episode, because -- really, I learned to love Jojo and Sun-Oh, and Hye-Yong. I loved where the plot was heading and towards the end of Episode 8 I was reallllly invested and could not wait for Sun-Oh to get back with JOJO but what the heck??

Season 2 was sooo dry and the storyline was so bland. If the director, writer, or whoever f*up the story, wanted it to be different they could have just made at least a tiny bit of justice to Sun-Oh and Jojo's romance!!

I think I can understand what the writer is trying to say about the story.

The shield, the complete switch of love interests but the heck to this!!
I'm outraged. 😡😡😡

We hopped to kdrama's because we want to separate ourselves from the reality and feel all giddy and just forget about how unfair life can be most of the time.

No matter how cliche things are, my heart will never get enough of scenes like Season 1. Forget Season 2!! I will never watch it again!
