Not what I expected but still enjoyable

First off I know why people dislike this. I get it. It changed a lot from the books and what we were expecting to get after season 1, and we all know that no show needs a season 2 lol. In saying that, I do want to say what I liked about this season. I like that they took notes from season 1 and made some good changes. For example, the Tum and Tar relationship. BL is finally starting to get out of this step bros thing, and I love the idea of introducing a new love interest for Tum. Like I think we need more BLs that have characters actually dating instead of this idea that you have to end up with the first person you fall in love with or whatever trope we see all the time. Also, I loved that we got to see how Ae dealt with his feelings after Pete left. Did he need that much screen time? No lol but some of it was valid especially how his friends like Pond helped him out. Now, I will say I was originally a fan of Techno and Kengla when I was younger and watched season 1 (I was a newbie and very dumb) so I could have done without them continuing this storyline, but again I am glad that they at least did not romanticize what Kengla did. Did he deserve Techno? Absolutely not! I am glad they at least acknowledged what he did was wrong. Lastly, I don't think we needed to relive all the TinCan scenes, but they were my first ship and I'm a sucker for them lol

Be warned, this is how I feel, I know not everyone will feel the same. To each their own. +foul language

But fuck this whole season. I for one should have actually read who the couple would be. That was my mistake. I can not stand Mean. Don't like him, don't like his character. Usually I try to separate the actor from the character but *HELL NO*. Not this time. Through this whole show I just kept seeing what he did to Earth and all the disgusting remakes he had made and it made me sick.

I didn't understand this season at all - the time line was extremely fucked up and things have happened that were never clarified like oh suddenly Pete is gone? Why? "To help Ae." --- what in the hell of WHY?! I stuck around trying to find out the reason and of course I stuck around to support Earth (even if his parts were small. I would watch anything for this cinnamon roll).

I don't understand why they suddenly tossed in new relationships and new people... What was the reason?! It's the last season (that we know of), so make that make sense to us!!

And can we talk about all the S/A that happened in this season? And the fact that people were just okay with it happening? What the actual fuckery? Like when what's-his-face took advantage of Techno while he was drunk and then said HE came on to him and all that shit. Continued to chance after Techno, suddenly spill the beans later and oops now they're a couple. Wtf?

And Tul's wife and kid?? This made me want to scream at the screen. So you cheated on your boyfriend...? I just... what the hell.

This show y'all.... it is a gotdamn MESS! and the ending doesn't make it any better. Ae been pining this WHOLE damn time like to the point it is unhealthy af, then at the end we get a "I'm back". Bro, you said what now? That's it? That's the end scene? You shitting me right now?

There was lkjglkfeughlieruhbeirugv What was there to like? Nothing. Okay I take that back.. Earth. Earth was to like, to love, to adore. I'm biased and I' fine with that. Lol

All in all though... It shouldn't have even been called "season 2" it could have been a special........ Not that that would have made it made any more sense. I really wish I knew what went through their minds that could justify it being this way. and FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS RAINBOW IF YOU MAKE ANOTHER SEASON PLEASE KEEP THE SAME ACTORS!!!! I'm so so so sooooooooo sick of the constant actor changes. X_X It makes me feel like I'm watching a whole ass different series. I said what I said.

What a waste of a second season!

Given how popular season 1 was and how much expectation there was for season 2, I'm sure this will be yet another review in the probably hundredths of reviews but here goes.

What a way to waste a second season... and I explain it in several points:
1) What was the point of re-telling the Tin-Can story? One thing that made season 1 so popular was the ending this couple got and how season 2 was going to fix it. Well, it didn't happen until episode 7. Instead, the absence of Pete made the director and writer reset Tin and Can from zero. Their personalities didn't change much from season 1 to season 2 so there was no valid point to waste 6 episodes telling me things I already saw in S1.

2) What was the point of having Ae crying around like a zombie for 3 episodes and then just post daily reports in his social media accounts for Pete to see? There was virtually no interaction with Tin and some advice to Can and the rest it was him starting into the horizon and doing nothing relevant for the plot. If you kept Perth around for S2, then give him something more interesting to do or don't have him at all.

3) What was the point of Ae's friends? Bow and Pond barely appeared in S2 and then we get glimpses of Mai (played by Krit) who I thought was an interesting character but after dragging Ae to the soccer field and yelling at him his appearances started to decrease. Sammy (who plays Bow) has been very well used in other series as a secondary character who is best friend of the lead actor (see "Until We Meet Again" for an example) and I was surprised to see Yacht (who plays Pond) having a role as Fiat's friend and trying to rape Un's character in "My Gear and Your Gown", so I know they are both able to do much more than just product placement or pat Ae's back when he cries.

4) What is going on with Plan's gestures when he is in a kissing scene? The chemistry between him and Mean has always been great and they seem more or less comfortable during all the scenes in their underwear or hugging shirtless, but when it comes to kissing, Plan is simply not comfortable at all and it shows... he never kissed Mean like he wanted it and his face was always one of worry and him wanting to hear the word "cut!" to end the scene. If he is that uncomfortable or unwilling to commit to those scenes (the way Mew and Gulf do in "Tharn-Type" or even Ali and Alec in the very cute "Boys Lockdown", for example) then change the scenes. While we all wanted them to kiss, it was a bit awkward to see those very bad kisses.

5) What was the point of the Tul-Hin saga? I think the chemistry between Meen and Est was very good (especially in the last 2 episodes when they actually had scenes together) so, there was potential to develop the story way more than what we got. We wasted time with Tul acting like a jerk towards Tin but never actually doing anything too bad to him like a true drama villain might do. Then Tul will soften up around Phupha and turn to mush when he thought about or someone mentioned Hin. I get Tul and Hin have a dominant-submissive type relationship that turns into some BDSM in the book, so that would not have been very appropriate for the TV series, but for many episodes Tul was just hating Tin, secretly hoping for Hin to come back and being a good father to Phupha. I wished they developed more of their characters instead.

6) What was the point of the Kengkla-Techno story? We know Kengkla took advantage of Techno in S1 and now tries to be forgiven by doing nice things. But the storyline gets boring and annoying quickly with Kengkla stalking Techno, giving him gifts or trying to talk to him and Techno falling into a mental battle of "oh he is so cute and I like him" vs. "he took advantage of me and he lied to me" every single time. This couple could have been avoided in my opinion to focus on the potential Tum-Keen relationship that seemed to be developing but only saw glimpses of it by the final episode.

Overall the long awaited second season ended up being quite a disappointment. I saw myself just skipping through many scenes that were so predictable and/or boring. I even preferred to watch other BL series that were far less promoted (see for example "Gaya sa Pelikula", translated as "Like in the Movies" in English or "I Told Sunset About You") but that were complete surprises by how well acted, well scripted and well planned those series were compared to the mess that "LBC 2: A Chance to Love" ended up being. I love the actors and the writer but I think this was a failure.

What an EPIC disappointment!!!!

I have to say! Why ...oh why ..I have been waiting for MeanPlan aka TinCan story since the LBC. But ACL was like tap water compared to champagne LBC was!

This is gonna be a long review to vent my frustrations!!!

Let me start by the pain points!
#was not a fan of retelling the storying of LBC in this, so much screentime wasted! And the timelines were mixed too, making you confused & irritated.
#WTH!!! If Pete was not there, you could have used the technic you guys did with Tharn in last scence & Type in this. Jus pretended he was there without showing him.
But to show, Ae and Pete brokeup without clearly telling the reason why. I could only assume it was due to Pete's dad threatening to expel Ae. This contradicts LBC, where Pete's mom was so happy for AePete and dad was never in picture.
#hated to see a sad wasted Ae in first 3 episode...it was lik a laugh in front of the beautiful Ae from LBC.
#dont get me started on Techno&Kla's story, if u can call it that. They had little to no scene..I would have loved to see their love develop despite their start 《yup i know Kla practically raped No》.
#the unwanted side characters...I get that they wanted to promote their Ad partners but did u have to do it oh so painfully obvious ???
#Tul's yearning and love was shown well, even if i cant accept what he did, the ending for the brothers were put well.
#TumTar, dunno what to say... I have mixed feelings with how Tum ends up with his friend.

Lets come to ACTING!!!

--Only winning point was Mean's acting !! I gave rewatch as 2.5 just for him!!! ELSE WOULD HAVE GIVEN -1
--Plan was good but when it came to intimate scences, even if Mean carried his part, Plan ruined it. Their chemistry was so better from LBC, but if only Plan had corporated a bit with Mean. This could have been an Unforgettable couple! Their Kissing was a huge let down all contributed due to Plan.
--loved Tul's aka Meen's acting, he looks so cute..cant believe he is jus 21...looked so matured in his role...will be waiting to see more of his plays.
---great disappointment: Techno's acting...what was that? Did he get worst than LBC?

OVERALL:: did not have the essence or magic of LBC...a lame try!!!!

What the heck were you thinking Mame?!
what did you do to this second season of Love by Chance?
After a wonderful first season of LBC, they give us this dissapointed 2nd season.
I dont know why they were trying to re-shaped the TinCan storyline, why didnt you just pick up from the last episode from the first season?
Then, after the re-shaped the storyline, they give us zero memorable scenes and down-grading version of the first season.
Im just...speachless

Eh.....Could be better but......

Story
I was really excited when they announced that LBC was getting a season 2 and couldn't wait to see more of Ae/Pete and Tin/Can again, but then the whole thing with Saint happened and I wasn't as excited as before, but then I thought, "okay well at least I'll get to see more of Tin/Can". The first episode happened and it just went "WTF" from there. They completely rewrote Tin/Can's storyline but the other characters lives moved forward for about the first 6 episodes, so the audience were left confused wondering what the hell was happening. We had to deal with an emo Ae for a while with no explanation as to what happened with him and Pete, so only those who read the book had the most understanding as to what was going on this season. It started to pick up from episode 7 and got back on track, but it still didn't get any better. The story kind of still flipped flopped around. Apparently it stayed true to the book version of Tin and Can.

Acting/Cast
Most of the OG casts returned, BUT THEY WERE NOT UTILIZED AT ALL. Guys like Mark and Gun (especially Mark) were barely there even though we were supposed to get some sort of continuation with their story. Earth was the one who was REALLY under used since we got to see him a total of 3 times with 10 second screen time. Mean and Plan kind of felt like they just didn't want to be there and their chemistry wasn't as good as it was in season 1.(Their love scenes and kisses were cringe) Mean was great on his own though, but his scenes with Plan...oye. I blame the script. New comers Meen and Est (Tul and Hin) could've been used more because I finally got into their storyline but they were wasted here too. Perth was the only one that acted well and did a better job. Then the cast started disappearing and then popping up randomly to the point you kind of forget they were actually on the show. (Mai's character & Bow)

Music
It was great. You cannot go wrong with Boy Sompob.

Rewatch Value
None...once was enough.

Overall
Some might like it and others won't. If you're really invested in Tin/Can then watch this. I must admit that they had a lot of really cute moments especially Tin. I loved all of his moments with Can and Can brought some funny moments too. This was honestly a skippable season.

I LOVE IT

This series is worth watching.....honestly speaking i cant say how happy I'm that the series Love by chance season2 is finally out, for those fans & viewers that are disappointed to what really happened, the plot of the series of episode 1&2 , episode 1 continue from season1 episode 14, Can had finally realise that he had fallen inlove with Tin and couldnt just accept it, the main reason can was crying after the football match wasnt only because they lost the match but because he had come to realise what like to lost what you love so much.......their is still 7more episode to catch up on.?

Confused and Disappointed

I really wanted to wait until the series ended before I gave my review, but I really needed to vent my frustrations with season two.

First of all, the only reason I decided to even invest my time with the sequel was solely because of TinCan. They were one of the best side couples I’ve seen in a bl drama. Their story line and their screen chemistry had me hooked.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that I am struggling with season two. The writers definitely missed their mark on this one. This season is missing SO much, I don’t even know where to begin.

One thing is that I hate the decision the writers made to completely redo TinCan’s story. It totally negates their passion and everything about their love story from the first season, which was utterly perfect for me. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I was excited upon hearing the news about the sequel and that we would get to see more of TinCan’s story, but starting from scratch was a bad move on the writers part.

Another major problem for me is the chemistry.
I don’t know what’s going on with TinCan’s spark or lack there of, but I’m just not feeling it, like.... at all. I really want to fall in love with this season the same way I did with the first, but without AePete and the TinCan I remember, I’m left feeling confused and disappointed.

I’d rather have just one really good kiss scene, or no skinship at all, over the lack of passion and lackluster storyline we’re getting from this season. I will continue watching until the end out of respect for the actors that I’ve grown to love, and with the hopes that this season picks up.

Pete Never Shows Up

The story between is the main is bad. I was sitting here waiting for Can to have some kind of epiphany. His character doesn't need to change he just needs to be sad about something with Tin. I need to see Can make it clear to himself he needs Tin at least half as much as Ae needs Pete. The beginning half of the story was just a reiteration and then Can just is with Tin and love Tin now.... because? And all that waiting for Pete to rush back to Ae, to notice what is going on. For nothing. I was like.... oh great a cliffhanger, I need to wait another week..... No. That's it. We will never see Pete and Ae together again. Even I could have got my friends together and made a 10 times better script than this mess. The only thing about this that I was happy about was Tul not being alone and Tin getting loved back after that ending with season 1. Why did you do this to us? No.... nope. I refuse. How are you associated with Tharntype? It's my favorite and I swear if you messed up season 2 of Tharntype next I will be so..... URGH! This made me want to bash my head into a wall! How dare you?!

OK so I'm pretty much disappointed in Lbc s2, not only did they start tin/cans story from the beginning which to me just totally messed up the other story lines, and totally confused the situation, really no need for it.
The chemistry they had from season 1 seems to have stayed there as it definitely weren't in season 2,the kisses were stiff and unfeeling which is sad because I love do love tin and can together, I also felt very disappointed that in s1 when ae and Pete slept together we had full on back to back love scenes about it yet when tin and can slept together it was a two second scene then it was morning I mean, seriously ?
I only watched s1 for them so I ain't really to fussed about the ae/Pete situation though I do feel they could of tried harder with ae's character instead of letting him drink and cry throughout most the episodes, that I felt was not only a disrespect but also a waste of perth's talents as an actor. Again not really fussed about kla/no or Tum/tar as I only fast forwarded their bits to be fair because in season 1 they never really interest me. So pretty much disappointed so far, don't know if I'll watch the rest as it already seems spoiled ? lol I also realize what's missing from the remake?can hit tin in the original, he had that anger at tin yet didn't in the second one he was more placid ?

Meh

I was really waiting for this drama but now...

STORY
The plot has some potential, but I feel like they could have done way way way better. I was bored by 4 full episodes of rebooting TinCan plotline from the 1rst season and after that everything else happened so fast...
They should have developed the story slower and more fully and they also should have given more screen time to the secondary couples:
- KlaNo: we don't see why and how Techno changes his mind about Kengkla. Yes, we can infer that it's because of Kla's love letters (and endless stalking... ahem... patience), but there's no built-up for them.
- TumTar: okay, they unsettled me. We left Tum swearing endless love to Tar and now he's suddenly fallen out of love? How? When? Why? I know that their relationship was controversial, but they could have better handled their storyline. Heck, Tum loved Tar for years!
- TulHin: I love them and probably they're the best side couple of the show. But if you haven't read the original novel you can't really understand their story.

CAST
I don't know what to say. There are a few good scenes overall the drama, but I could feel Plan (Can) awkwardness during kissing and intimate scenes. It felt like he hated them and it broke the spell for me.
Despite the lack of screen time, it was way better the skinship between Meen (Tul) and Est (His).
I really appreciated Perth (Ae)'s acting, especially in the first part of the season when he had more screen time and dramatic scenes.

MUSIC
Nothing particular to say. To me, it was a little bit invasive in the last episode, but I usually don't like when characters sing in order to convey their feelings.

In conclusion: I'm happy to have watched this drama because I needed to see a happy ending for Tin and Can, but I will not rewatch it.
