A glimpse of what 'TharnType: The Series' could have been
My viewing experience of 'TharnType: The Series' (TTTS) very quickly devolved into hate-watching. I will admit, however, that, layered with that hate was a certain fascination with the interactions between Mew Suppasit and Gulf Kanawut. When, in their respective roles as Tharn and Type, they aren't physically or psychologically violating one another—which, sadly, they do throughout TTTS—there is an undeniable chemistry between them, generating both sweetness and heat. This led me to complete TTTS and watch "Our Final Love" (OFL).OFL would collapse without the lead actors' chemistry, as this chemistry is the one thing that helps to hold the episode's disparate parts together. The first third of the episode only exists to indicate that Tharn and Type are entering the fourth year of their relationship, and could have been discarded without consequence. Some of the final moments of OFL are, unforgivably, spent rehabilitating Lhong, who, in TTSS, gets away unscathed despite plotting a gang rape, perpetrating blackmail, engaging in relationship sabotage, and attempting a murder. That he is badly tortured by his conscience is supposed to be enough to redeem him here.
The section that manages to make the most narrative sense, but just barely, is the middle one: a flashback to the time when Tharn accompanies Type home to be introduced to Type's parents, some months after the events of TTTS. This set-up is a romantic-comedy staple, and it plays out in a more or less entertaining, if also largely conventional, way. In the course of dealing with opposition to their relationship from Type's father, Tharn and Type bicker, trade innuendos, cuddle, make out, have sex, and affirm their undying devotion to each other. The story then jumps forward to the present to reveal Tharn and Type waking up from their dream of the meet-the-parents scenario. For some reason, Tharn takes this as an opportunity to cajole Type to don a pair of cat ears and meow for him—bizarre, but charming enough that I can let it slide.
OFL tries to get out from under the decidedly queerphobic, abuse-glorifying shadow of TTTS, by having Type's mother validate her son's romance and Type reconcile with his gay friend Kom, but these come across as feel-good concessions in the name of grudging tolerance rather than wholehearted acceptance. Still, the middle section as a whole does at least hint at how much better TTTS could have been, trimmed of MAME's obnoxious, dangerous attempts to be provocative for its own sake.

Acting\Cast: excellent choice Mew and Gulf. perfect chemistry. true love.
Music: well managed. it takes hold immediately and never goes away. even if you don't like songs in Thai you will find yourself humming
Rewatch Value: reviewed 3 times so far
OVERALL: I believed in this series from the first moment. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the construction of the story. I cried, smiled, hated and loved with them. I am happy that Mew met Gulf.

Perfect Couple
Ive read alot of mix reviews in both seasons. In every drama we all have different tastes, values and preferences. Hence, i dont mind all the mix reviews good or bad at the end of the day this drama was a huge success and it paved way to both actors in whatever project they have right now. Going back to the drama ill list factors that made me love this drama:1. People new to BL dramas this is a good start and will surely make you question your addiction later on.
2. The leads for some reason happens to have natural chemistry. They literally feed butterflies in your stomach.
3. The lovelines synch with their respective emotions. Their eyes speaks love and passion.
4. Both leads have charisma that will keep you wanting more.
5. The supporting casts are equally significant. They added fun to the whole drama.
I highly recommend this drama specially to people new to BL.

A Perfect Special
I fell in love with TharnType in almost an overwhelming way--the series was perfectly complex and deeply nuanced, and reflected a lot of my own experiences as a gay person. I felt immersed in the story in ways I never had before. By the finale of Season 1, I was crying from relief that Tharn and Type could finally be happy. This special was EVERYTHING. It was beyond a perfect ending. The series was wrapped up and added to beautifully, and other specials should take note. I would be hard-pressed to find something to complain about if asked to be critical. "Our Final Love" has become a comfort for me, and I've rewatched it countless times, even putting it on as background during my work day (I've seen it so often now I honestly don't need the subtitles anymore).
I liked the special so much I paid for it on Vimeo even though I also bought the season 1 boxset. It's really that good.

Cute moments but problematic issues brushed under the rug
A cute sequel to the TharnType series which allows the viewer to get a lot of fluff moments with the two main characters. The show is still deeply flawed but not for the same reasons as its parent drama. Indeed, all the problematic issues faced by the protagonists in the past are brushed under the rug. There are some resolutions and redemptions storylines but it feels overall rushed and undeserved.Regarding the acting, there are no stellar performances but it is obvious that the leads are more comfortable playing the cute and more comical scenes rather than having to act and sell deep dramatic narrative arcs. There are some references to another show in the same universe "Love By Chance" and I must say that the cameos of two actors playing in it (Saint and Mean) made me want to discover it and learn more about them.
The production of this Special Episode is a bit better than in the previous show. It remains quite average but the editing feel less choppy with a better flow of the script. I also appreciated a bit more the soundtrack with some nice ballads.
I would not recommend this to people unless you are a fan of Mew and Gulf pairing and want to see more of the TharnType couple.

Really loved this special episode cos ITS SO SWEET!!!! Tharn being so cheesy with his love lines towards Type is just so adorbs! The parents setting is just right as the director wants to show how different parents' reactions are when they find out their child is not straight. All of the actors put in their heart and soul for this special episode dedicated for us fans. Thank you so much for this special episode. Really looking forward to Season 2! Though the dad may be a bit too harsh, but the rest is all right. The development of Tharn and Type's relationship is something very interesting as he is homophobic but in the end, he became gay because of Tharn. Again, I thank everyone involved in this special episode as it summarises and ends the series on a high note! Speechless after watching. Was this review helpful to you?
The original storyline may have some holes but this special episode manage to end the story well. Certain parts like Kom (Type's best friend) and Type's family are mentioned in this episode and everything is just happy, sweet and loving. Both of them are seriously killing me with sweetness. I don't mind if all these are fan services but they acted so damn natural with all the kisses and skinships. Their sizzling chemistry. Seriously i keep wondering if they really "did" it in real life lol
The whole episode written by Mame is just awesome. The cheesiness, humor and touching moments are really perfect. I keep laughing and smiling throughout the whole movie with a little tears at times. My face is so numb from smilling so much. I really want to give a round of applause to Mame and all the cast and staff that work on this together. The lines are really good with the cheesy sound effect is just funny as hell. And the sarcasm my gosh so genius. I can't stop laughing at Type's dad (Their both personality is so similar that i find it so cute)
I really like that this special episode don't have any dramatic action in it and just stick to being sweet while showing us how their life is after they are together along the years. They also wrap it up well with all the other cast members. Which is why i gave this such a high score. I feel really satisfied with everything like they will be no better ending than this. The songs are so freaking nice too. Perfectly accompanied all the scenes with the perfect volume and timing. I am so in love with the songs.
Although there are certain issues that are not mention or taken seriously such as the trauma or Lhong's punishment etc but then this is just a fiction and entertainment so i just didn't take it too seriously. For me the whole Tharntype story may not be all good but this special episode is definitely great! I personally love this couple the most among all the BL couples i have watched so far. They are by far the most natural and had the most skinships ever i think. Even their instagram are full of each other's pictures and comments lol (i don't care if this is a marketing strategy or what but it definitely works on me) Not to mention they are both so good looking!!
Hoping there will be a S2! Until then i shall keep re-watching this <3

I wish for a season 2, but at the same time I think this was a perfect ending. If they do release news on a season 2, I definitely will be ready for it! :)
