One day after school, the serious Ito and the child-like Nishi meet by chance as each endeavors to remain walking on the sidewalk`s white line. As time goes by, Ito recognizes he is drawn to Nishi in a way that is new to him. Nishi, for his part, is frustrated that they only get to meet on the sidewalk. Ito decides to act upon his feelings and kisses a surprised Nishi, who agrees they need to walk side by side for a change.

The sparks between them are undeniable as their relationship blossoms in high school, survives the college years, and matures into adulthood. A deeply moving work that bears witness to loving partners whose unchanging feelings must co-exist within a world of changing realities.

BL dramas. The cinematography is great in both, when watching Life on the line I was reminded immediately of Dark Blue and Moonlight. Also, in some part of the story one of the leads keeps looking for the other after they separate. The way they approach LGBT themes is similar.

Both films are BL and feature one guy who really loves another but who leaves him in order to pursue a 'normal' life with a woman.

Kieta Hatsukoi may be a bit more on the fluffy and comedic side of bl, but both of these Japanese series focus on the blossoming love between high school boys. They also both incorporate heart-warming and emotional moments that are sure to keep you invested in their journies as couples.

Hira Kazunari, a high school student who doesn't talk much, has no friends and belongs to the bottom of his class. The person he falls in love with at first sight is Kiyoi Sou. He is "The King" who doesn't hang out with anyone, is equally ruthless, and reigns at the top of the class. With the hope Sou will notice his presence, Kazunari serves him devotedly, running errands and buying lunch. But his faith in the absolute monarch gradually falls into lust.
