The reason i created an MDL account is to tell everyone not to miss this gem. This is one of those dramas that you think you'll just overlook since you think you already watch far too many school dramas. And you thought you can start it because theres no other thing to do on your spare time.

But then you'll realize what a big mistake you've done because you havent start it sooner. The story of how you overcome challenges and see the world in a new light is what makes this drama so close to realty. The romance is not overbearing, its fluffy highschool love. Theres a strong sense of camaraderie and there are no unrealistic villains or unbelievable evil arc.

The OST is the best, i have not been impressed with cdrama OST since Go go squid until this one. And I know i will rewatch this again...

A Must Watch Hidden Gem

To be honest with you, I came to watch this for Lai Edward and Wang Run Ze because I've seen them together with the same roles in a different drama (A Little Thing Called First Love). I didn't expect much thinking it would be a typical school romance drama. I was surprised by how complex the plot is being only the first episode. But if you're looking for a romantic-based school drama, I don't think this one is for you. It surrounds the plot of growing up and facing dilemmas, romance lingers as well but isn't as developed. The plot twist, in the end, is worth it. It answers everything!

The plot is a little bit cliche with time travelling and I was looking forward to its uniqueness and it didn't disappoint. The story is complex and was driven by both the characters and the plot itself. I personally can't think of any characters that are unlikeable or had underdeveloped stories. Everyone was equally important—Mr. Wang was just as important to the plot as Lin Xiaoran or Nan Xiangwan. Their friendship with each other is strong and healthy, and so are the love tensions between the characters which is rare in most dramas but I'm glad we're straying away from romanticized toxic relationships :)

The female lead, Nan Xiangwan's development surprised me the most. In the first few episodes, she comes off as arrogant and self-centred who only wanted to achieve her goal, to get back to Class 2 because of that, I understand why people are discouraged to continue—no one wants to watch an unlikeable lead. But as time went on, she becomes more 'human' who is shown empathy, she helped her classmates find a way out of dilemmas and problems. She still stayed to her true nature with her goal in mind yet helped her classmates as they face dilemmas. She's one of the strongest female leads and if you were to take out the male lead, she'd still complete the drama. The male lead, Lin Xiaoran started off as an alpha who makes a lot of impulsive decisions. He later grew into this person who thinks about what he's doing because of the female lead's presence.

The music is beautiful, especially Xiangli Xiangli! This is definitely a much watch. It is everything a cliche drama is not. There are no heavy misunderstandings and every single problem is solved, there are no plot-triggering characters and both the leads realized their love over time.

Overall, as much as I'm not a rewatch-er, you'd definitely catch me watching this again (and yes, I was teary-eyed).

Youth drama with positive vibe all thru the end... n the leads r just too cute! Highly recommended!

IMO this school drama is a type like “my huckleberry friends”, FL also played the mainlead there... it’s a youth drama where it tells more about the friendship between mainleads n their schoolmates, how they become good friends n help each other getting thru senior year... so if u like that series, u’ll def luv this one...

There r some cute moments here n there between the leads, n it’s obvious they like each other from halfway thru, however since it’s a highschool story, there’s no real romance n skinship (just a lil but only in the last eps&in the special eps)... it’s more like a first luv/highschool crush story where they were enemies first, then they fell in luv with each other but in a cute pure puppy luv kinda way... n they finally got their happy ending (literally in the last eps).. they r looking cute, n they r almost always together from early on like unofficial couple... i’ll def watch it again after they r all subbed...

What I luv:
- It’s a positive vibe kinda story, where everybody eventually got along till the end n there is no unnecessary drama... There is no real villain... SML had a crush, but backed off when he realized he didn’t stand a chance against the ML n even befriended ML... no evil SFL...
- Eventhough there is almost no skinship, but the chemistry between the leads r really good n they got me hooked from early on... they r def goodlooking n just so cute together, I can’t get enough of them!
- Plotwise, I like the pace, there is no boring moments...
- No misunderstanding... if there’s a problem, they solve it directly n not dragging it...
- There isn’t any breakup or separation between the leads near the end which I almost always hate in a drama...
- Good BGM all thru the series... it highlights the moments...

What I wish:
- I wish they shows more story of them in the present time... I’d luv to see more scenes of them together as a couple...

Overall I really luv this series... N I even watched half of them raw! So IMO this is one of the best youth dramas I’ve ever watched, best one of this year for sure... n don’t miss the 2special eps, they r just too cute to miss out!

Exceeded my expectations,really a great drama

I was really excited when this drama was announced and had high expectations for this drama. And I have to say,it really exceeded my expectations. I could say,this is one of the best chinese youth dramas I ever watched. Even though the plot description in mdl sounds confusing,I recommend you to give it a try!

Story - Overall,it doesn't have boring moments and the story seem well written. Its about Gu Xiao Man,a 28 HR manager who went back to her high school days, there she met Lin Xiao Ran,a sports student and they became friends. Unlike most youth dramas,this drama focused more on friendships and studies. The side characters all have their own stories and problems. Although,I really wish that there will be more scenes in the present and for the story to focus a bit more on the side characters .Aside from that,the story is just full of fluff and I like that there's no break up or evil/annoying sml or sfl. Misunderstanding are definitely something that you can't avoid but I love that they solved it immediately and it doesn't drag for really long

Cast - Lai Guanlin acting definitely improve since A little thing called first love and as a fan of Lai Guanlin,I'm definitely proud of him. As for Li Landi,I never watched any of her dramas but her chemistry with Lai Guanlin is really good. Even though there's little skinship scenes and no kiss scenes,every moment of theirs was just heart fluttering and sweet. And for the side characters,aside from Wang Run Ze,I never really seen any of the other side character dramas before but their acting is pretty good.

Music - I don't have much to say about the music but I really love it. Especially the opening theme sang by Lai Guanlin,it just instantly get stuck inside your head. Also props to the editing team,they always make the music fit perfectly match with the scene.

Rewatch Value - I don't usually rewatch dramas so 7.5 is already a pretty high scores. I would definitely go see some scenes on mango tv from time to time and maybe rewatch the series again when I have time.

TOOK MY HEART!!no incomplete couples

This is a high-school drama which i never thought that i will like it as i thought that there are no good high school dramas other than when we were young and love is sweet.but it really TOOK MY HEART AWAY
i just suggest u to watch it and say how gud it is.
dont forget to watch the SPECIAL EPISODE which complete the drama really well.
it had such fun elements that were not at all vulgar,not a single bad thing was there in it.
in fact it showed the actual problems that a student faces in his school life especially ,when its the last year of school.
it also conveyed a very good message that even though studies are not the most imp thing in ur life and u can make other choices too but in the end u cant let go ur studies as they are the more roads which actually take you to Rome only ,i.e. success,but u have to be determined for it.
i just loved the caste and the leads that i almost fell in love with the couple.
at the end the drama even inspired me to study well to achieve what u really want in ur life as well as in your love life.
this also showed that how bad or gud parents' interference can be in your life.
though everybody has different definition of love and even each drama shows a different kind of love but the one showed in this was truly good.here the boy was mad behind the girl but girl was not also less.the only difference was that she had more self control than the boy and wasn't that expressive.(being straight forward and expressive are 2 different things right.)
i loved the friendship and teachers in it.
i loved they way it was showed that leads have the same thinking,they balance each other and care for each other so well.they reached where they are because of each other.
it showed very well that how love isn't a hindrance if its real.
last but not the least i loved how he proposed,in fact,both of them proposed each other at the same time.

Rough beginning but if you stick with it, it gets a lot better

Okay, I'll admit. I did have trouble continuing after the first 4 episodes, mainly because of the FL's character Nan Xiang Wan. It's a plus that she's a strong willed female lead character and not a weak pushover one but on the downside, her cockiness and pride coming from the adult version of her life, really ruins this high school student role of hers. She solely focuses on studying, getting into Class 2, and not caring about anything else. She's not likable at first. But... from Ep 5 and onward, this is where we start to see small changes within Nan Xiang Wan. From Ep 13 and onward, she's not as annoying and she does start to care more for her classmates but she still has that adult like personality that does ruin a few scenes with the words she says to some of her classmates and of course the ML, Lin Xiao Ran. But, she does get to that point where she appreciates everything around her, especially her classmates. It just takes a lot longer.

Besides Nan Xiang Wan, every other characters is likeable to me. I get why they treated NXW meanly at first because of the way NXW treated them but overall, you just like the rest of the characters, from Mr. Wang, who shows so much care for his students, to the support each classmate had for each other in Class 7.

While there are signs of a chemistry between NXW & LXR and small hints they may like each other in their scenes, it was never declared in the drama that they liked each other and romance is not the big focus here either so don't expect any romantic scenes or kisses, but you can kinda guess who will end up with who towards the end. Again, even though romance is not the focus here, there are numerous couples by the end of the drama. Also, don't forget to watch the SPECIAL EPISODE if you do want to see more of a romantic side from our leads.

Otherwise, for me, this is by far the best school related drama I've ever seen. No misunderstandings, no love triangles, no evil characters. It just shows the life of what each student goes through during their final year of high school and the amount of support and love the students have for their classmates and the amount of love and support the teachers have for their student. Get over the bumpy beginning and I'm sure you'll enjoy this drama because I sure did even with my doubts in the beginning.

Heartwarming!!!!

Someone commented on the last EP on YouTube saying that this is the first time they feel that 24 episodes isn't enough for a Chinese drama, that's exactly how I feel right now. The storyline is perfect, one thing I liked about it is that there was no going back and forth between the present and past, so there was no much confusion or fiction, I liked how they displayed the friendship and relationships between the teachers, principal, director, parents and students. There was no kissing scene or even confession and I'm not complaining though, the story was focused on friendship mainly and I like it. There were no toxic SLs and no dirty playing so that they get their crushs' attention, I honestly cried rivers watching this and I laughed a lot, I'm currently on summer vacation, so this drama kinda made me feel like I wanna go back to school real soon, worth the watch, I enjoyed watching!!

This series starts and ends ten years after high school but the rest takes place during the last year of high school. The story is very sweet, with wonderful friendships, solidarity and a strong feeling of we can do it together. The chemistry between the leads is phenomenal yet very innocent.

The male lead does push the female against the wall once in an argument but other than that both male leads are very respectful towards her boundaries and each other. There aren't any annoying side caracters. Things not to be taken for granted in a c-drama.

As in many school C- dramas it is very pure and study oriented. The amount of time these students spend in school is very strange for me having gone to school in Sweden and Israel. The very idea of teachers confiscating mp3s and getting involved in the students social life is very strange for me but it’s interesting to learn about it.

I found myself yelling at them come on just let the kids listen to some music. I personally need music when I study. It feels like the series is trying to say that everybody is different and that students learn in different ways but at the same time it’s very strict. I did feel the story was dragged on a little to long and would rather see some more of the time after high school but otherwise it’s a nice drama.

Friendship

This is one good drama that not focus on romance, but more about friendship, family & goal.

Here we have Nan Xiang Wan (XW) who is more mature & have a clear goal in her head, Lin Xiao Ran (XR) who is like a leader for his friend. We also have Liu Yu Bai (YB) & Chen Shi Yun (SY) who have communication problem with their dad.

XW is like a little tornado for her friend. Her focus & determination in study at first make all of her classmate sick, but eventually she became example and goal for her friend. At first she only care about herself & her university goals, but eventually she start to care and pull all of her classmate to became better with her.

What attract XR & YB to XW first is her mature demeanor than girls at her age. Yeah sometimes boy like more mature girl. But what i like at first i think the writer intent to make XR & YB into love rival. But somehow along the way they change their mind & (in my opinion) make YB more like admire XW than like her. If XR & YB really became love rival, so funny than it means Wang Run Ze already lose twice to Edward Lai in the drama, first was in 'A Little Thing Called First Love' drama.

What i really like in this drama:
+ No need for love rival. Yeah in life we not always find love rival
+ Childhood friend is really childhood friend without really need develop feeling for each other or even just one that develop feeling for another.
+ Another proof that man & woman can be friend, real friend. Like the relationship between XW & YB or XR & SY, friendship to the end.
+ The friendship and solidarity in their class.
+ Wang lao shi is really good & suitable for them. He is so funny sometimes.
+ The growth relationship between XR & XW really smooth & make us feel the warm. Really like how they support each other, even though sometimes it's so stupid.

Sometimes after watched drama about student in china that about having collage entrance or high school last test i really wonder how heavy the burden actually are for the children there.... Until all the teacher & parent think the student having relationship will gonna disturb their study.... Yes maybe having relationship can disturb study but can be also like encouragement in some way, like make them want to go to the same school with their partner, or just to encourage their study, etc...

But actually i kinda confuse because of the ending, the ending for me make me a little bit confuse to apart the reality and the 'dream' that XW had. However i really like how this drama wrap.

Overall i really like this drama. But i don't think i like to re-watch.

My ONLY REGRET is not watching it sooner!

A few months ago I came across it and put it off. I thought it'd be just like any other time-traveling unlogical story, but this drama exceeded my expectations. The main theme focuses on camaraderie, friendship, unity, affection between teenagers that don't change over the years, the innocence of youngsters, the bond between teachers and students, and, the pressure they have to go through. The main characters start on the wrong foot but come across each other's strengths while embracing their weaknesses. It can be considered enemies to lovers. The sole reason I started watching it was because of the cast. The male lead and second lead from A LITTLE THING CALLED FIRST LOVE were together in another high-school series, and that kinda excited me. All the characters were well played, the series portrayed its message accurately. I especially liked how the female lead was intellectual, calm, and patient, Unlike many other cdramas where the FLs are naive, stupid, childish, and always a 'damsel in distress.' I think it is quite underrated. This series deserves more recognition.
