Mediocre but has some cute moments and may be worth it if you're bored.

While cute enough to watch weekly while it was airing, it wasn't anything amazing. Lots of clichés, not that clichés are bad, but some of these have been done to death. This is a hate to friendship to love story and follows ALL the expected plot lines. This was pretty messy relationship wise, though all the characters were surprisingly mature about for high school kids.....for the most part. There were still some childish antics. It was far beyond the usual love triangle or square. Love chain-link might be a better way to describe it, lol.

A lot of the acting was pretty cringe, though both the main leads were not bad. There were a couple of stand outs among the side characters, most notably Chol's photography friend Q.

The side couples were petty cute, though most interactions were plagued by the sub-par acting and a somewhat stiff script(or maybe just weak translation?). The only one I had zero interest in was the student/teacher couple. I did like Maping (the student) as a character but the whole situation was just borderline creepy. I have no issues with student/teacher or age gap story lines in general (and their age gap was less than I expected when revealed) but this just really didn't sit right with me. It didn't help that the actor playing the teacher was incredibly stiff.

All in all I'd say there really wasn't much that stood out in this show but it wasn't bad. It could have been better with a stronger script and a more experienced cast but it was still pretty watchable though the last few episodes were weak.

probably not the best but definitely one of the cutest bl dramas I've ever watched

This is the first time I've seen a bl drama about stepbrothers falling in-love with each other plus a lot of side stories which made it really interesting for me.

Story : 9.0/10
I found this drama cute and really interesting. The main plot + the side stories hooked me, but the ending seems rushed, and the Chol's choice to pick Communication Arts over Medical school was really dragged lol. I actually hoped that this drama would go over 20+ episodes so they can explore each of the pairs' relationship.

Acting : 8.5/10
Some of the acting in this drama looks awkward (idk if it's just me) especially with the side stories but a lot of scenes (mostly Prab and Chol's scenes) are really cute (it made me scream once ??) nonetheless they're all great actors.

Music : 9.0/10
The songs are all great, they all fits well with the drama and the story.

Rewatch Value : 9.0/10
Am I willing to rewatch this? Yes, not soon but I can see myself rewatching this drama again. I genuinely enjoyed this drama, too bad it has 13 episodes only ㅠ_ㅠ I finished it in less than 2 days lol, I am grateful that I gave this drama a chance

Overall : 9.5/10
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this cute drama. I agree that the shirtless intermission scenes wasn't really necessary , especially when some of these actors are young (Chol is 18 lol) and it can really be off for new viewers.

This repeated theme in the BL series made me think twice to trying watch it at the beginning, But somehow I dared to taste the first three episodes and turned out I quite liked it.

Apart from stale themes, a plot that didn’t focus and (almost) all of performances that looks stif were another weakness of this series.

However, the adorable players with full of easy listening soundtracks made me enjoy this series until I realized I had arrived at the end of first season.

Now why did I have to watch a confession scene on YouTube?

Just to get it out of the way. Having to look for the confession scene on YouTube because it was edited out of the actual show itself is absolutely insane. This would actually have to be my biggest gripe of the show. How awkward and flat out dumb some of the editing choices are. Sometimes a scene lingers too long at the end or it feels like a small chunk of a conversation was missing in the middle of a scene. Or the whole situation with who was The Frog Prince. The whole situation made absolutely no sense to me. Since there was no way The Frog Prince would know about Chol and his issues without it being his step-brother Prab. Not that the equally as awkward acting really helped the editing either.

But besides the questionable editing, I would say that I did somewhat enjoy and find entertainment out of this BL. Sure it dragged on a little too long and at the end of the day there weren't as many cute moments between the main leads as I would've hoped. But what we did get was serviceable enough. I would honestly say this is the most mid of BLs one could watch, as the step-brother trope doesn't really come into play until the very last episode when it finally creates drama within the family. And even then it's solved within liked, twenty minutes. So yeah, the most mid of mid BLs. Cannot even hold a candle to other Step-Brother BLs like Stay With Me. I would only watch this if you're a big fan of the trope.

Much Better Than I Expected

First, the bad:

- The plot is not particularly fast-moving. I like slow burn, but sometimes it goes around in circles bit too much.
- Scene cuts. When you watch Ep 12, try to find an uncut version, or at least watch the cut scenes after you view the episode. For some reason, the LineTV broadcast cut the most important scene in the entire series, making much of the 12th and all of the final episode totally incomprehensible.
- The acting is uneven. It's not bad by any means. You do get a solid sense of who the characters are, and that's the most important. Folk, who plays the older step-brother, Prab, is a bit too good at being a smarmy dick, so he's not very likeable at first. He's even better at being the sweetest and most loving person in the world, so you're likely to adore him by the end.
- Subtitles. They're nowhere near as bad as So Much In Love, but at times they're confusing, not helped by references to scenes that have been cut.

The good:
- The main couple are so cute it killed me. If the bunny scene doesn't win you over, this show probably won't work for you.
- Everyone is gay. For some, this is a negative, but I liked a world where every single boy is pursuing other boys, and it's totally normal. I was half expecting someone to come out of the closet as straight, and be bullied by his classmates and rejected by his parents. There is only one heterosexual male character (alleged) in the entire series: Chol's father, and I have my doubts about him. Prab's mother should certainly never let him attend a parent-teacher conference at that school unaccompanied.
- There are no implausible failures of communication. People talk things through. As an example, I'll give a minor spolier. Prab and Chol have to visit their father in the hospital. Nick, who had been casually dating Prab, wants to come. Prab, concerned that it might bother Chol, asks for his permission, although not needing it. Chol's response is ambivalent, so Prab disinvites Nick to make sure Chol isn't hurt. That's it. In a "standard" BL, Nick would come along, Chol would be jealous and sulk for two eps, there would be several montages of good times spent together to bad music, before some crisis forces communication. In another case, a guy blows up unreasonably at his bf and stalks off. (Cue two eps of sulking, montages of good times to bad music.) He goes to class, cools off, goes straight to his bf and apologizes for his behavior, they discuss what happened, and it's resolved.

There are two central bits of drama - both are likewise handled with communication, empathy, and and love. I spent half my time staring open-mouthed at my screen wondering where all the sulking and montages were. It was really wonderful.

This is not the best BL ever by any means, but it's in my handful of favorites just because it was invariably a joy to watch. If you can be patient with it for a couple of eps, I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you like BLs where cute boys are cute to each other, this is a gold mine, because not only is it that, it's logically written and not full of fan-servicy elements. When people behave poorly it's understandable why they did, and they almost always recognize it and make amends and apologize.

I don't hesitate to recommend it. There will be times you'll ask "why am I watching this?" But you'll likely want to continue.

Note: Don't stress over the student/teacher thing - nothing bad happens.

Adorable

The issue with this series is NOT acting but the story line. Stepbrother relationships have been done ad nauseum. There are just so many ways to present stepbrothers falling in love. This one does have some unique approaches to it, and the story between the mother and father is a first and different, so there is just enough here to make it entertaining and fun to watch The two main actors are so adorable and cute and really can act. They honestly made this series flow nicely. However, it needed more depth to character development and it certainly needed more attention to some serious traumatic issues that arise. But it you want to watch pure adolescents' "love" unfold, this is the one for you. You can read my full review of this cute BL series at BLBliss.com.

Hardwork

I’m enjoying most of the cast, Choi is super cute, But my grievance Is the Music is extremely annoying, And the stories very slow pacing. The plot seems to jump a bit And I wish they’d double check the subtitles as they are terrible, missing words and spelling . I cannot understand why this has a 15+ rating as it’s very timid compared to some of the BLs I have seen beforehand yet they got a 13 , I was really looking forward to watching this series as I’ve been trying to watch it for a while now. I’ll carry on watching it Fingers crossed ? it gets better

I mean I don't hate it???

I haven't finished this so I can't say much but it was kinda obvious the production was a bit, I don't know, bad? The acting for me was a bit awkward but nothing too bad like I've seen in some actors. The story was cute, I felt like it could've been better, definitely way way more better.

Don't watch with high expectations, just watch with curiousity.

It's not something I'll binge watch but it's something to watch from time to time since it really was cute.

I liked the theme song, it wasn't bad. I only rated it 6.5 because of how awkward the music and effects were when they would insert it, like it was louder than their voices, and it really just doesn't fit.

O relacionamento do professor e do aluno me incomodou bastante...
