Love Among the Stars
When a video’s leaked with proof of an actress’s { Dilraba } gaming ineptitude, it threatens her contract with the developer. When she recognizes the proficient gamer she’s playing with as her first love { Yang Yang }, she asks him to help her hone her skills (without revealing her identity!) so she can redeem herself. Thus their story begins…I enjoy that the FL stays kind & innocent throughout. She’s strong & stands up for herself while remaining humble. She never uses her fame as an excuse to be rude or act as if she’s better than anyone. She’s a very cheerful & honest person who has worked very hard for her accomplishments & doesn’t take the people around her for granted. She does have a few moments where I’m like, “girl, whyyy?” but overall I really enjoyed her.
I love watching the ML fall for her. He starts as a closed off person who isn’t mean, but rather burdened. He’s got the worry for his parents’ finances & health weighing him down, causing him to give up his career as an aerospace engineer for a more stable desk job. But the FL’s constant encouragement & unending belief in him give him the courage to once again chase his dream. Her sunny personality & quirky charms help brighten the darkness he’s been living in, giving him hope for a better future.
I enjoy the way he goes about pursuing her after he pushed her away & proving his feelings are genuine. He knows he messed up by letting her go, he realizes just how much he needs her in his life, & he sets out to win her back. And I appreciate that she isn’t cruel in her hesitation to accept him & that their separation doesn’t last long. It shows how serious they both take their relationship. Some shows drag this situation out too long to add more tension & drama, but I personally hate that. If you both love one another & want to be together, why would you be dumb & hold onto your pride when you could just apologize/forgive & hold onto each other instead?
Their chemistry is 🔥! They love to flirt & their banter is so cute. Their devotion to each other is 🫠. I love how they support each others goals & never let the difficulties of life come between them. It’s very nice that we get to witness the progression of their story too with the time jump. Getting to actually see them functioning as a married couple & how that works with both of their demanding careers is really well done, imo. Life doesn’t end after the “HEA” scene - that’s when a whole new life begins! They’re total married couple goals too. Just as flirty & affectionate as when they were dating. Lovely hugs & kisses. Their story is a joy to watch!

How to land on the moon while dreaming of the stars...
Although we would always have a male lead and a female lead in romantic dramas, the story is often told through the eyes of the female lead. It gives a sense of "fluff" and warm fuzzy feeling. It is refreshing and truly complex how this drama tells the struggle of the male lead. It serves the male lead's vulnerabilities and 'pathetic-ness' straight up on a silver platter for the audience to digest. Because who else has not struggled with coping to give the best for their loved ones while fighting for a dream since youth? Contrary to the usual trope of soft FL falling head over heels for an ego-centric tough guy, this drama explores what more can be told in a romantic set-up without needing to bring in great detail messy past relationships or obsessive exes -- the realities of choosing your partner whether it be in consideration of difference in income, career, or the pursuit of a long-kept passion. Bonus on the metaphor of Qiao Jingjing (alluding to the passionate dream ML has always aimed for from his childhood days) and Xia Qing (alluding to the realities of choosing practical, rational choices in today's economic setting). Re-watching this again and again has always given me a profound sense of insight into the makings of what it means to pursue a life-long career and keep loving the life that you live everyday. For that, I'm eternally grateful to this drama and story, in particular. Always a renewed sense of purpose in life, relationships, and a sense of duty to the wider world. Indeed, there must be some middle-ground between aiming to land on the moon while dreaming about the countless stars in the galaxy. Was this review helpful to you?
Slow burn romance and true love
Yang yang brought me here from Who Rules the World. I was a bit skeptical when I see the poster but this cdrama turns out to be worth it.Let's talk about the cast. I suppose YY is famous in China, but after watching WRTW and Love o2o, I think he's suited to play historical characters due to his dashing demeanor. But I do love Yu Tu character. Ambitious person from normal background, realistic and relatable. Not some perfectly handsome and rich CEO. His passion for aerospace is also admirable.
Meanwhile I think Dilraba is the perfect Qiao Jing Jing. We can see her character development from school girl until her 30s. How she grew from being in love to being a supportive partner. I also like how real her character is, as a famous actress, how she need to watch her weight, busy lifestyle, being rejected and how not everything is perfect for her. What truly admirable is her dedication towards YT and how YT influenced her to be a better person.
As for the plot and storyline, the drama is divided into 3 phase. The gaming part, the pursuit part and married life. I think of dropping the shows after first few episodes but still, I pushed through and I'm glad I did because no matter how mundane the earlier plot is, its critical for later plot development.
I like how cdrama nowadays involved social issues such as achieving dream, being filial, income, weight, long distance relationship and the right to be childless. The drama is also very positive and the couple doesnt seems to have a lot to fight on, and some audience might argue if this is realistic or not, but actually it is. Compromise and understanding is the basis of happy and healthy relationship. While some people crave drama and toxic relationship, I'm glad there are producers out there decided to create positive dramas like this. There is still hope in this world after all.
All in all, do watch it if you like slow burn romance and true love.

I think the lead actors ruined it for me :-\
This is my first time watching a drama with either of these actors and only my second contemporary CDrama. I've been trying to figure out why I didn't like the drama much, because I feel like I should have liked it. the first 20 or so episodes were awesome (solid 9) but then it dropped to a 3 on the enjoyment scale and I found myself reaching for the fast forward button often. I ultimately concluded that the two lead actors were the problem.Allow me to explain.
1. The ML did a phenomenal job with sad, longing, romantic, and/or flirty scenes. But for the technical scenes as an engineer in particular, or where he was supposed to be cool and aloof, he came across as not at all authentic. It's like he couldn't pull it off. There's a difference between aloof and flat. Likewise, there's a difference between stiff and intelligent. His aloof scenes came across as flat and his scenes where he was supposed to be demonstrating how brilliant he was just made him look stiff/robotic. This character was supposed to be passionate about systems engineering and the actor brought no passion to this part of his role (so, basically the basis of his central conflict and the core of his character).
2. The FL was really, really fun to watch, absolutely fantastic, until the two leads got together in the 22nd episode or so. After that point, she started randomly behaving in this really irritating infantile way that got worse with each episode. Her voice got higher and higher until she was using a baby-voice by episode 30. I was so sad because I really enjoyed her character up to this point.
Anyway. I'm willing to give these actors another try, but this drama was ultimately just average for me despite the story and direction being solid.

A realistic, heartwarming portrayal of romance
It took me several attempts to get started on this drama as I’m not a fan of the romance genre, but I’m ended up pleasantly surprised and impressed by this drama! The drama feels like chicken soup for the soul to me. The portrayal of romance is slow, steady, but warm, not at all riddled with complex misunderstandings or issues that oftentimes feel frustrating to watch.
I started this as a recommendation from a friend as I am a new Yang Yang fan, and I can say Yu Tu’s silent struggles with his career resonated with me. As someone in research, I felt incredibly inspired by Yu Tu’s passion and cried for him, with him, in this drama.
Dilrabat, too, in my humble opinion, did a stellar performance portraying Qiao Jing Jing’s emotions, especially in the initial stages of crushing hard. I found myself kicking my feet together with her in my bed as her interaction with Yu Tu increased with time, and their relationship blooms like a plum blossoms fluttering in winter.
Their relationship was beautiful, slow-paced but warm, soothing to the soul, respectful and gentle. I’m not even a gamer (though I’m relatively acquainted with gaming terminology), yet I found myself watching every moment without skipping, vouching for them, wishing for their successes and feeling touched to see Yu Tu and Qiao Jing Jing grow together to achieve their goals.
This is the drama I came back to after a long (frustrating) day at work to relax to, and I’m super glad I have another drama in my arsenal to rewatch during hard days.

I keep coming back to this...
This is hands down one of my most favorite dramas of all time. I love how simple it is. Yes, it's a celebrity drama so how "real" can it really be but Reba's character was written in such a lovely way that she seems like a normal person. Yang Yang also killed it in this drama! I know a lot of people criticize his acting but I think he did a great job. My most favorite thing about YY and DD as a couple? The hugs. They have THE BEST hugging scenes in any drama that I just replay every scene with hugging in it.I highly recommend you watch this if you're looking for a comfort watch!!!

PLEASE GET A HANDFAN TO FAN YOURSELF WHEN WATCHING
Yes you heard me right, don't start this if you have nothing to fan yourself with because the heat will properly be bad for you. The heat, hotness or whatever hot that's out there is in this drama, so good and so worthy of the hype. Didn't want to watch this because of the high profile leading actors because I felt it will be full of biased fans giving it high score and boy am I wrong because whatever score you want to give it, I say the higher the better, while this is my first time of watching DD drama, it's not a first for YY so with being a little convincing from some of the reviews (a first for me because I don't watch drama based on people's reviews especially on this site) I started it and I didn't regret it so thank y'all that gave it a good review and score based on your enjoyment not by being biased. I did totally enjoyed it that I wanted more drama that has this same vibe and that's how I came across "Love Is Sweet", another great drama. Gotta say these two dramas, while different in terms of occupation and theme, both has ruined me for sure. YAMG totally deserve the hype, I mean the actors are ACTORS because you can see all on the screen, the story and all were all aced. I love the dynamic of the drama. I have watched this drama 2 days ago and I was and still speechless because I really don't know what to say but I gotta say I did enjoyed watching it.Was this review helpful to you?
Two working adults and their simple love story.
To start of, I was initially worried that good looks would be the only good thing about this drama but I was proven very wrong. I binged through this drama and enjoyed it thoroughly.Firstly, the drama is about two people with very time demanding jobs and how they navigate their relationship without compromising their careers, therefore the small plot lines throughout the drama are related to their work and it’s affect on their relationship.
Secondly, acting. I’m not particularly fans of either actors however I’ve seen at least one of each of their works and I’d say they both are better than my first impressions of them. That being said they’re not amazing, but they definitely did their jobs well.
Positives:
1. A truly well developed and healthy mature relationship from start to finish.
2. The presentation of an aerospace career seemed well done and accurate (I believe they actually consulted aerospace engineers), although I’m not experience so I wouldn’t know but it looked professional.
3. The story wasn’t trivial or needlessly fluffy. They spoke about real mature concerns that people of their age would. (Eg. Money, family, career goals)
4. Wasn’t dramatised for the sake of it. The story went at a pretty slow steady pace which I love (but could be a negative for you).
5. The main couple chemistry was very good and convincing. They’re both insanely attractive so they look good together. I also love the simple and sometimes pointless conversations they had. Not every conversation has to be a big deal.
6. No petty fights or break up AT ALL.
7. Kiss scenes 🤭😌
8. Some of the OST songs are really good, and I really like they’re timing as well.
Negatives:
1. Again, slow pacing - this is not a negative for me but it may be for some.
2. Although they had great chemistry I will admit in some scenes they could have been a bit more relaxed with each other.
3. Acting was good but wasn’t perfect. One example is with YY. In some scenes it feels as though he’s paying a bit too much attention to how he looks on camera, it’s especially noticeable when he appears to be flexing his neck length.🦒
To conclude, I definitely recommend this drama. It’s a mature well made drama that is very enjoyable and nice to watch to relax or to de-stress. It’s not overly dramatic very easy to binge. It’s also surprisingly funny at times.

So much potential
I was so excited about this drama! While watching the first 22 episodes, I was thinking this is best drama material. I thought this drama is exactly what I needed.PROS
Slow burn/subtle romance
I have watched too many shows that would have a dramatic love story and somehow fate brings them together again. I enjoyed the realistic romance from friends to lovers. They were high school friends and how they talk to other friends about each other. I love how supportive she was about his career. The issues they had between them was so real. When he pursues her, it was subtle and romantic.
Male lead relatability
When he rejected her, I understood why. He was feeling insecure about himself - his high demanding job and little pay. How can he be with a celebrity that everyone loves and has so much money? He was in love with her but could not pursue it. I related so much to his struggles of chasing his dream job but parents have to suffer. His struggle of not being good enough for someone so you close yourself off.
Cons
The last 10 episodes.
Once they get together, it was so boring. There were hardly any issues. They were just kissing. So disappointed!

BEST CDRAMA I HAVE WATCHED
I am probably too late for this reviewI have said enough that I am new to dramas. But OMG, I would say this is the best CDrama I have ever watched. It is really good. The chemistry is chemistry-ing. I know a lot of people might have something negative to say about Yang Yang's acting but him in this drama is gorgeous. Both YY and Dilraba's looks, chemistry, acting is real good. The emotions in the storyline are so accurate to reality. I also like how healthy the relationship is and there is no unnecessary break up scene.
In particular, I really love the scene where Yu Tu logs into his old computer and realizes.
Also, all the scenes of Jingjing shining as an actress are so real.
Their flirty texts, the banter and conversations are so good!!!
And also the *ahem* spicy scenes are done so well. It feels as the appropriate amount of spice, how both of them are shy but Yu Tu takes the lead. I also really like how they manage to pull it off so well.
I love the series so much and I always recommend it as my #1.
