short review; not bad but not amazing
I dropped it for a while and picked it up again. This isn't actually a romance drama in my opinion, which I enjoyed. First OffGun BL for me, and I don‘t hate the ship. Off can act his ass off (pun most certainly intended). I'm really not a fan of First in this, though. The mop hair is doing him 0 favors. This gets pretty dry in the end, which is why it was hard to finish for me, but overall really not bad.Was this review helpful to you?

The pacing is tight, the mystery of Black's betrayer keeps tensions high, and the commentary on corporate monopolies, disability rights, and judicial double standards feels incredibly urgent and real.Gun Atthaphan delivers a career-defining performance in the dual roles of Black and White. He creates two distinct, palpable personas through subtle shifts in posture, vocal tone, and micro-expressions; you can tell which twin is on screen with a single glance. Off Jumpol sheds his usual romantic-comedy persona to play Sean with a raw, simmering intensity that grounds the show's emotional stakes. Their chemistry is magnetic, built on shared convictions and ideological friction rather than superficial tropes. The supporting cast, particularly First Kanaphan as the passionate artist Yok and Gawin Caskey as the conflicted cop Dan, turn their subplots into standalone highlights.
Director Anucha Boonyawatana brings an indie-film aesthetic to mainstream television. Moving away from bright, oversaturated lights, the series opts for a moody, cinematic palette filled with neon greens, deep blues, and harsh shadows that reflect the underground setting. The use of real Bangkok street art and graffiti adds a layer of raw authenticity. The soundtrack is atmospheric and driving, perfectly amplifying the adrenaline of the protest scenes and the quiet tension of the romance.
Not Me is a rare gem that respects its audience's intelligence. It addresses heavy themes—such as the morality of vigilante justice versus peaceful reform—without offering easy, sanitized answers. It is an essential watch for anyone who wants media that challenges the status quo.

A liberdade é o oxigênio da alma.
uma das mais lindas e impactantes que já assisti até hoje!not me não gira em torno de romance. o que sustenta a série é conflito, consciência e resistência.
a relação entre os irmãos é o verdadeiro coração da história. mesmo distantes, existe uma conexão que atravessa tudo e acaba sendo o ponto de partida para uma mudança profunda. quando um deles é forçado a encarar a realidade do outro, não se trata só de assumir um lugar, mas de confrontar um mundo que sempre esteve ali e nunca tinha sido realmente enxergado.
essa troca é o que constrói toda a base da narrativa. é através dela que surgem os questionamentos sobre privilégio, desigualdade e o peso das estruturas sociais. não é uma jornada confortável. é sobre perceber que estar protegido por um sistema também significa, de alguma forma, sustentar ele.
o romance acontece nesse meio, mas não conduz a história. ele cresce junto com essa tomada de consciência, dentro de um cenário de tensão, luta e posicionamento. não é idealizado, é atravessado por tudo o que está em volta.
outro ponto muito forte é como a série coloca a arte e a juventude como formas de resistência. existe uma crítica clara sobre ocupar espaço, se posicionar e existir como ato político, principalmente dentro da vivência LGBTQIA+. nada disso é tratado como detalhe, tudo faz parte da estrutura da narrativa.
e mesmo mostrando um sistema falho e violento, a série não prende só na desesperança. existe uma insistência na ideia de que pessoas podem fazer diferença, de que escolhas individuais e coletivas têm impacto real.
cast incrível! e tenho que dizer: gun entregou TUDO na atuação!

Amazing series with some small flaws
STORYGenerally speaking, I really liked the way Not Me manages to maintain a level of suspense and excitement for every single episode (especially around ep 7-10 iykyk). There are also some plot twists, which were mostly executed well, except one, which was really predictable (= Todd). I also really appreciated the themes of justice and activism, which are portrayed in a really multifaceted manner.
I loved Sean and White's relationship. Their first kiss was executed perfectly. I loved the trust falls. It broke my heart to see Sean getting hurt by Black.
However, I personally didn't really like Dan and Yok's relationship, because it just started off for me on the wrong foot. I hate the "love at first sight"-trope. Especially because they really just had ONE sight, and Yok was immediately obsessed. Come on, you could've done better than that XD. Other than that, I generally liked the direction that their relationship was moving and was sympathetic towards Yok when Dan betrayed him, but they failed to really capture my heart due to the way they "suddenly" fell in love.
I thought that Gram and Eugene's romance was really sweet and a good dilemma for White to figure out while trying to make the right decisions as Black.
I loved the way you really felt how White and you as the viewer became more comfortable in the gang and found a new family in them. When Black eventually wakes up, you immediately feel sorry for White for losing the life that he has built for himself.
All in all, an amazing story with a few flaws: 9/10
ACTING
The cast did a good job. Especially Gun did well at portraying White and Black as two completely different characters. 10/10
MUSIC
The soundtrack is perfect. The music during the first Sean and White kiss scene really stood out to me (owe, owe, owe, Oweeee). 9/10
REWATCH VALUE
The series is amazing, and I can see myself coming back to it one day to experience it all again. There isn't really any big foreshadowing to plot twists that you could notice on your rewatch, thus "only" 8/10.

NOT ME IS A MUST WATCH!!!!
I remember seeing this show on hitv and just randomly decided to watch it. This was also when I was kind of still in my bl newbie phase. I ended up dropping anything I had to do and binged watched it in less than 48 hours and even though I was very exhausted by the end and really sad of finishing the show IT WAS AN AMAZING WATCH!!! Almost everything about this bl makes it such an enjoyable watch. Good acting, interesting story, and nice OST music. My only ick is how quickly yok aka first character just so easily forgave Dan aka Gawin's character it was just a tab bit annoying, but I still love this show! I also had a s**t ton of ghost ships and I'm sad knowing the fact that some of them never became a real thing. It was really fun trying to figure out who was the one who put Black's character in a coma (even though that person was my main guess). But I did have to rewatch this show cause i forgot sum things senice I binged it so defenly if you're going to watch this show don't do what i did. The music, scenery and of course the acting all of that is so on point. I'm a huge fan of Gun Atthaphan and he's acting is always in another level also P Nuchy she is a great director so I'm confident with her work, I'm so excited to see how it all would turn.

THIS IS MORE THAN A Y SERIES
Big applause for the director - P'Nuchy for making such a great series like this.To me, "Not Me" is not purely a normal BL series, it shows us the vision, the ideals about an equitable society that we all deserve to fight for and to live in.
About the actors's acting, I really want to give P'Off Jumpol a big big hug for his improvement in acting skills. His skills made me goosebumps in every scene and every eyes's sight he (Sean) gave to Black (White). And we all known P'Gun Atthaphan as a great actor so we don't have to say no more.
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS SERIES. TRUST ME ON THIS, YOU WON'T REGRET!!!!

Thai BL Series Are Stepping Up Their Game
This series is a giant leap forward from the plotless, misogynistic BL series that are a dime a dozen in the Thai BL industry. This is why, as a BL fan, I believe that it deserves a 10/10 rating for its unique storyline that stands out from almost any other BL.The story distinguished itself with its social commentary and positive representation of women. The girls, Namo and Eugene, were independent, emotionally mature individuals and worthy representatives of the protest movement. Kudos to the scriptwriters for that.
Furthermore, Gun and First's acting was brilliant. Off also demonstrated a lot of improvement. The rest of the cast kept up. Sing deserves special praise for delivering a memorable performance despite his limited screentime. I want to see him in a main role in the future.
As an objective viewer, though, I have to acknowledge that Not Me could have been better both in terms of plot and characters.
1. Plot holes, plot holes, and more plot holes.
The plot broke this series as much as it made it because, despite being unique, interesting, and well-paced, it was riddled with plot holes both big and small.
Let's start with the less significant ones.
- White and Black live in the age of social media, but they somehow did not manage to get in touch with each other for years despite obviously being eager to reunite. How come? This should have been explained. If you want the viewers to take your script seriously, you should not rely on Wattpad logic.
- In the initial episodes, White's father plays an important role, but after White and he have an argument and White leaves home, he is not heard of again. His son disappeares with a trace, and he does not even call to ask where he is? They did not have a bad enough argument for this to be believable.
- When White tells Sean that Black and he share a special twin connection that makes one of them feel the pain that the other is experiencing, Sean just accepts it. His reaction makes no sense. The setting of the series is modern Thailand, and there are not any supernatural elements. It is not like Sean hears things that venture into the realm of the supernatural every day. He should have at least been surprised.
- What happened to White and Black's mom? White met with her, and then what? Nothing? It is also not revealed why Black and she fell out. Yes, it is probably because he joined the resistance, but this raises another question: what inspired Black, who could have led a life of privilege, to switch sides?
- We learn that there was no love lost between Sean and Black, but the reason remains unrevealed. Yes, Black abandoned Sean during a mission gone wrong. However, this does not seem to have been the root of their dislike for each other, which goes further back in time.
- Who is Gumpa? He owns a garage that serves as the gang's hideout and is in charge of the protesters' physical training. He knows how to shoot a gun and owns a pair of handcuffs. The most logical conclusion is that he is a former policeman. But who knows? Not me. Even one minute of this series is not dedicated to explaining this character’s backstory, although he is an important member of the gang, whom everyone treats with respect and thanks to whom White managed to fit in with the others.
Now let's move to the plot holes that are bigger than black holes.
- The extremely predictable twist revealed that Todd is the one who harmed Black. It became known that once upon a time the two of them were close, and that even now, when they stand on different sides of the social struggle, they cannot kill each other. This is all the information that the viewer gets. Why did Todd hurt Black so severely? What was their relationship prior to the split? Were they friends or lovers? Todd must have meant a lot to Black if Black cannot kill him even after Todd sent him to the hospital in a coma and deceived his twin brother. But who knows? Not me, which is pretty disappointing, considering that who hurt Black and why is the main mystery of the series.
- The gang spent the bulk of the episodes devising and executing missions to subvert Tawi's corrupt empire only for the series to get an open ending regarding this matter. We neither saw Tawi get overthrown nor stay in power. Unless the production team is aiming for a second season, this is a really underwhelming way to end the series.
2. Unnecessary relationships, onesided relationships, and confusing relationships.
- I believe that the GramEugene sub-plot was unnecessary. Not only did they have no chemistry, but also this turn of events did not do Eugene justice. She was an interesting character in her own right. I liked her quiet strength and her commitment to fighting social injustice through dance. The melodramatic love triangle only overshadowed her story.
- GramBlack was a hot mess. The initial episodes made it obvious that Gram cared for Black, and several of his interactions with White at the time hinted at a possible romantic attraction. Then, their relationship took an abrupt turn. I am not criticizing the production team's decision to make a change. However, they should have edited the script instead of patching things up along the way.
On a side note, I am actually glad that the GramBlack couple was dropped because I liked the enemies with benefits thing that Todd and Black have going on. I hope that it will be expanded on in a second season.
- Yok carried DanYok on his back from start to finish. I lost interest in this couple pretty quickly because they had almost no chemistry – I say almost because First managed to bring some passion to the romantic scenes – and I felt like Yok is the only one in love. Fluke did a great job in every scene but the romantic ones, though, so the problem is not his acting. The problem is the way in which the romantic scenes are written. Now that I am watching First's sizzling hot chemistry with Khaotung in The Eclipse, I realize that the script of Not Me did not do Fluke and him justice.
Nevertheless, I would like to recommend Not Me to every BL series fan out there. The criticism aside, it is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you root for White, Sean, their love story, and the gang's mission.

I would like to give a huge clap for this series. I do not feel like watching a series, each episodes is like a movie. It is so good I got emotional, especially ep. 2. It was so intense, made my heartbeat skip. I got goosebumps everywhere.The cinematography, music, the story everything was on point. 👏👏👏
I commend the acting of gun and off. Really, you guys do not disappoint me. A refresher from your previous characters. But Gun, do this kind of acting before which made him really good, I do not remember the title of the movie. (Blue something) 🥺🥺🥺
Overall, I am so happy with this series. I am really looking forward to watch the next episodes.

Never seen a BL like this before
If you are reading this before watching the series then I would suggest please do not watch the series just because it's a BL. Trust me before watching it I have heard this plenty of times that there's mo series like NOT ME and there really isn't. This has few heavy topics to deal with. I have never seen a BL like this before. It was not jist focusing on romance between two guys but much mkre than that. It showcased the corrupted society, oppression of common people, misuse of power, injustice against the weak, the relationship between parents and their kids and definitely the rise of youth. And in between them these boys find true love, true love that gave them the strength to fight. This showcased the rebellious side of youth and how of united we can overcome anything. I want more people to talk about just how impactful this drama is on youth, encouraging us to fight against corruption. The amazing acting served by Off Gun Mond First and Papang gabe this series a new height. The editing, direction and plotting is well made. I have to say Not Me probably has the besy soundtrack collection in the entire BL industry. If you are watching it good luck you are in for a ride.Was this review helpful to you?
En un BL thaïlandais que j'ai aimé !
J'ai enfin fini et surtout apprécié un bl thaïlandais !Je ne m'attendais pas à ce qu'il y ait un réel propos, surtout social et qui résonne autant avec l'actualité, particulièrement en Thaïlande. Je pensais que c'était une histoire de gang et de petits criminel et ce n'est vraiment pas ça. C'est plus profond et bien plus intéressant.
Je suis vraiment dégoutée qu'il n'ait pas reçu la promo qu'il méritait, alors que tellement d'autres oeuvres creuses et basées uniquement sur du sexe reçoit un traitement royal. Je sais que tous les goûts sont dans la nature et je ne critique pas le succès de ces œuvres, simplement le fait qu'un drama bien écrit, avec un réel message, n'ait pas eu droit aux mêmes égards.
Partager ça avec ma meilleure amie a vraiment multiplié les feels et forcément rendue le moment encore plus magique, donc peut-être que le 10 est un peu trop mais c'est, dans tous les cas, la note que mérite ce super moment.
