not for me

Plot and progression
I thought the plot was interesting enough to start watching. But I didn't enjoy how it progressed. The story was narrated to viewers for most of the beginning parts, which I didn't enjoy. That took me out of the show a little bit, simply because I think it's better to just show us, instead of talking us through it. I understand the plot intends to touch upon economics and society's corrupt ways, but the dialogues were delivered in such a way that it didn't feel like a normal conversation between people, but a bullet point statement of rights and wrongs that need to be fixed. If I could put it into feelings, I'd say it felt like I was watching a documentary with very well acted parts to showcase different conflicts (and personal grudge) within society.

Pace/flow
I thought the pace was actually alright, for the most part. The narrating bits in the beginning did happen quickly, but afterward, it got to exploring the characters and flowing accordingly toward the goal.

Character(s) dynamic/development
I thought the main character white was kind of wishy-washy. I had a hard time believing he could achieve anything with his mentality. It just feels like he bit more than he can chew and I wasn't really able to connect with his character either. I don't know if he will get better, I assume he does get better, but I won't be sticking around. I understand this kind of story isn't focused on the relationship, and that is very evident, because I didn't really feel any real connection between the main leads. Not that it matters per se, but just thought I'd mention it, since.....I assume they end up together?

Acting
Great acting, nothing really to say about it.

Overall enjoyment
I found myself skipping a lot, because as mentioned, the dialogues felt stiff. I wasn't really enjoying it as much as I thought I'd be. I really enjoy Gun and think he is a great actor, but this story just didn't pull me in.

Review

I relay like this storyline it’s very interesting. The storyline is also very different from other bl’s I’ve watched. It reminds me a bit of Manner of Death but at the same time not. The acting is of course amazing since it’s Off and Gun. I also really like the other actors they’re great as well. It’s just an overall amazing series I would definitely recommend, so if you’re a little interested please try watching. Believe me it’s soooo worth it. Now remember this isn’t your a normal bl series so if you’re looking for maybe try another bl there are many great ones.

One of the only series that I genuinely loved from OffGun

Not Me is honestly one of the best Thai BL series I’ve seen, and I couldn’t wait to talk about it. This show does so much more than just tell a love story — it’s about identity, activism, and how love can be messy and complicated. And the acting? Absolutely AMAZING. If you love shows with emotional depth, real character growth, and a bit of social commentary, Not Me is definitely for you.
The Acting: SO Good

First of all, the acting in this show is next level. *Off Jumpol* (who plays Me) and *Gun Atthaphan* (who plays Black) are honestly perfect in their roles. The way they bring these characters to life makes the whole show feel so real, and you can feel every emotion they’re going through.

**Off Jumpol**, as Me, really nails the character’s confusion and vulnerability. Me starts out not fully understanding his privilege and the world around him, but as the series goes on, you can see him slowly begin to change. Off does such a great job of showing how hard it is for Me to reconcile his feelings for Black with the realities of their very different lives. Every time Me is caught between what he wants and what he knows he should do, you feel that inner struggle.

And then there’s **Gun Atthaphan** as Black. Black’s character is so passionate, especially when it comes to activism, but his love for Me complicates things. Gun plays that inner conflict so well — it’s like you can see Black trying to balance his dedication to the cause with his personal desires. His performance is so emotional, especially when Black has to make tough decisions that hurt him and Me. Gun really brings the character’s depth to the surface.

The Story: More Than Just a Love Story

What I love about *Not Me* is that it’s not just a typical BL about two guys falling in love. The show brings in really important themes like social justice, privilege, and finding your identity. It’s about Me and Black’s relationship, yes, but it’s also about how they navigate the world and the struggles that come with their different backgrounds.

The tension between them is so real. Me, at first, is kind of naive about how different his life is from Black’s, but as he gets more involved in Black’s activism, he starts to see the world in a new way. This brings so much complexity to their relationship, and it’s so refreshing to watch. It’s not just about their feelings for each other; it’s about how love and activism mix — and sometimes, how they clash.

Throughout the series, you really see Me grow as a person. He has to face the reality of his privilege and learn how to stand with Black in the fight for justice. Watching him evolve is such a rewarding experience, and you get to see how much their bond grows as they each come to terms with their roles in the world.

Final Thoughts

*Not Me* is a beautifully made series that combines deep, emotional storytelling with real-world issues. The acting is phenomenal, and the way the show deals with identity, privilege, and love is so well done. If you’re looking for a BL series that goes beyond just romance and brings in a lot of heart and meaning, *Not Me* is definitely one to watch. It’s a show that stays with you, makes you think, and leaves you feeling all kinds of emotions. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into something more meaningful and impactful.

Great series!

I really love this series. Gun's acting was remarkable. I have a couple of complaints though.
First, Gram annoyed the hell out of me, like I get Black didn't treat Gene that great but come on dude, he's supposedly your friend. Idk, that just annoyed me.
Second, there's unanswered questions. Like when White was acting as Black, their dad didn't question where he went? Black fought those officers at the hospital but received no punishment, or he never got caught? Lastly, they all had classes but hardly attended?
Honestly, I would like a second season to see what everyone done after the last mission, like what was Black going to do? Also, would have loved more interactions with Dan and Yok. (I love FirstKhao but I still wanted moren🫣)
Overall, even with my complaints it's a great series, I would rewatch it!

Freedom is the oxygen of the soul

Not me has to be one of the best Thai BLs I’ve ever watched. I’ve seen the praise for it for months, so I came in with high expectations and I can tell you I was NOT disappointed.

STORY/PLOT : 7.5/10
The premise of this show was interesting from start to end, you could really tell the writers/directors put a lot of thought and purpose into it. The balance between action, mystery, social commentary, and romance was handled well for the most part and you don’t see that in a lot of BLs. The only gripe I have with this would be the pacing and a few plot holes. The first few episodes were pretty slow and more than once it felt a little too convoluted, but after I’d say, episode 6 or so, the pace really picked up and things definitely got a lot more interesting. Also, the ending.. I was happy with it because who doesn’t like a hopeful ending? But it was bit too quick or..easy for me, I guess. It really just left things to be desired.

CHARACTERS: 9.5/10
Each character was charming in their own way. I don’t think there was a character on screen that I wasn’t completely engaged in. Really liked how the female characters had goals and passions and were just overall PEOPLE and not one dimensional objects to help push the m/m romance along. Not only romance, but the friendships in this show were so refreshing, I will always love a good found family trope. Some characters weren’t as developed as I’d liked by the end, but I’d blame that on just not having enough time to flesh everyone out.

ROMANCE: 10/10
Sean and White’s build up to romance was refreshingly gradual and very cute to see. Seeing a couple just exist unapologetically queer, clear consent, and healthily developed was such a breath of fresh air and I loved every second of it. My favorite couple of this series though, has to go to Yok and Dan. The scene where they first arrived at Dan’s hide out and Yok was sketching him honestly made me tear up a little and solidified their chemistry and romance for me. The inevitable betrayal hurt so good and the forgiveness in the end, a promise to help pick up the pieces lost and hopefully build them back stronger, was beautiful to watch.

ACTING/CAST: 10/10
Gun (White/Black) has done it again. Absolutely phenomenal acting especially with such a difficult task of playing 2 different characters. The way you could clearly see the contrast between White and Black just goes to show how much work and effort he put into this role. I loved Off (Sean) in this role, I’m telling you, it felt like it came so naturally to him. Every facial expression and longing glance, you could tell he really embodied this character. First (Yok), Mond (Gram), Papang (Gumpa), and Fluke (Dan), all deserve their flowers too, not one character felt one dimensional or awkward, they all each had their own personality, faults, and goals, and it was really great to see.

MUSIC: 10/10
Loved it. Music can make or break a scene and ruin immersion but the way this team utilized it had me hooked and really did add to the tone of the episodes. Also appreciated the fact that they didn’t use any comedic sound effects in this show, definitely helped with the mature angle they went for.

PRODUCTION/CINEMATOGRAPHY: 10/10
Holy. Shit. I can say this with 100% certainty, I have never seen a BL look this good. I don’t know how many times I was just staring at my screen in awe, replaying a scene over and over because of how damn good it looked. Everything from the camera work, to the locations, to the clothing, to the lighting had a purpose to help tell this story and god damn did it work. The details they put into this production was absolutely jaw dropping.

OVERALL/TLDR: 9.5/10
This show is more than a BL. It’s a story of pain, heartbreak, social justice, corruption, but most of all hope. I will never stop recommending this. The shots were breathtaking, the characters felt real, the story was engaging, and it definitely surpassed any expectations I had going into it! ♡

I still can't find anything better

Rambling:

This is genuinely the best bl I have ever watched, I saw somebody said that the main couple didn't add anything to the storyline, but I'm actually glad about that. The main focus of the story isn't the couple. It's the problem of corruption in the Thai government and it didn't even have to be a bl but it just works.

The visuals are also absolutely stunning and the mood all the time made me feel like I was watching this in the theater. All alone at high quality(best feeling)

Gun's acting in this series it A work of art and he deserves a fucking award for it. He got everything thing right down to his chemistry with Off, it was off the charts.

I also like the fact that nothing is really sexualized, even sex isn't sexualized, everything is a art piece. Take Yok and Dan's nude painting scene, I felt the vulnerability too, like it gave me goosebumps I almost cried.

Final thoughts:
The cast and crew did a really good job with this and I recommend you watch it at least once in your life.

Surpreendente

One of the best BLs I’ve seen

the directing, acting, plot, and soundtrack of this series are incredibly well done, especially compared to other GMMTV shows I’ve watched. I am anticipating Burnout Syndrome (same director and lead actors) with high hopes!
this show has indie vibes, which makes sense based on the director’s prior works. it was interesting and refreshing to see something less mainstream coming from GMMTV.
The social justice themes were very fitting for the year 2021, when it seemed that the whole world was protesting what we’d previously put up with. However at times the social justice message felt a little too forced in the main and side storylines—this is my only negative critique of the show.
OffGun really thrived in these roles. White and Sean are complex characters, and they were very well fleshed out by Off and Gun. First’s acting particularly struck me as well!
Overall I highly recommend this series 🤍🖤🤍🖤

Never seen a BL like this before

If you are reading this before watching the series then I would suggest please do not watch the series just because it's a BL. Trust me before watching it I have heard this plenty of times that there's mo series like NOT ME and there really isn't. This has few heavy topics to deal with. I have never seen a BL like this before. It was not jist focusing on romance between two guys but much mkre than that. It showcased the corrupted society, oppression of common people, misuse of power, injustice against the weak, the relationship between parents and their kids and definitely the rise of youth. And in between them these boys find true love, true love that gave them the strength to fight. This showcased the rebellious side of youth and how of united we can overcome anything. I want more people to talk about just how impactful this drama is on youth, encouraging us to fight against corruption. The amazing acting served by Off Gun Mond First and Papang gabe this series a new height. The editing, direction and plotting is well made. I have to say Not Me probably has the besy soundtrack collection in the entire BL industry. If you are watching it good luck you are in for a ride.
