not for me

Plot and progression
I thought the plot was interesting enough to start watching. But I didn't enjoy how it progressed. The story was narrated to viewers for most of the beginning parts, which I didn't enjoy. That took me out of the show a little bit, simply because I think it's better to just show us, instead of talking us through it. I understand the plot intends to touch upon economics and society's corrupt ways, but the dialogues were delivered in such a way that it didn't feel like a normal conversation between people, but a bullet point statement of rights and wrongs that need to be fixed. If I could put it into feelings, I'd say it felt like I was watching a documentary with very well acted parts to showcase different conflicts (and personal grudge) within society.

Pace/flow
I thought the pace was actually alright, for the most part. The narrating bits in the beginning did happen quickly, but afterward, it got to exploring the characters and flowing accordingly toward the goal.

Character(s) dynamic/development
I thought the main character white was kind of wishy-washy. I had a hard time believing he could achieve anything with his mentality. It just feels like he bit more than he can chew and I wasn't really able to connect with his character either. I don't know if he will get better, I assume he does get better, but I won't be sticking around. I understand this kind of story isn't focused on the relationship, and that is very evident, because I didn't really feel any real connection between the main leads. Not that it matters per se, but just thought I'd mention it, since.....I assume they end up together?

Acting
Great acting, nothing really to say about it.

Overall enjoyment
I found myself skipping a lot, because as mentioned, the dialogues felt stiff. I wasn't really enjoying it as much as I thought I'd be. I really enjoy Gun and think he is a great actor, but this story just didn't pull me in.

Should have I expected more?

Before watching this series, I had high expectations because of the overall very positive reviews and the interesting plot.
Was I disappointed? Not really, but I think this series could have been so much more.
It started pretty well, and I was getting really invested in the story... but then it slowly became less interesting, and the plot holes started to pile up.
The whole "social commentary" message this show tried to convey was executed beautifully, and the diversity of the different characters surprised me in a good way. Besides that, everything was mid.

The story was sometimes very messy, and other times it kept going in circles. At one point, White just stops looking for the people who beat up his brother and forgets that's the main reason he's there with his friends. Tot, who's supposed to be the hidden villain, disappears in the middle of the show, and honestly, I forgot about him until the plot twist came.

The whole Gram-Eugene-Black situation was messy, and the way they decided to go with it wasn't good enough for me. It left a sour taste in my mouth. Also, unpopular opinion, I wasn't a big fan of the second couple, Yok and Dan. I get what they tried to portray, but I wasn't feeling for them. Maybe they were not my cup of tea? Either way, some of the decisions they made seemed irrational, and I felt like they got back together way too fast, given the situation.

The ending was very rushed, and it didn't conclude anything. It left behind so many loose ends and could have been so much better. I think I would enjoy a second season where they wrap up some of the plot holes and give the characters a proper ending.

In conclusion, this drama wasn't perfect, but it had its good moments. It is not for everyone, and depending on your personal preference, you might like it or not. For me, despite the original plot and powerful message, this drama had forgettable couples that didn't add much to the story.
The series had its strengths in its thought-provoking social commentary, diverse characters, and original plot. Although it had some flaws with messy storytelling and unresolved plot holes, it remained an engaging watch with its strong messages and unique elements, and I appreciated the overall positive aspects it offered.

Review

I relay like this storyline it’s very interesting. The storyline is also very different from other bl’s I’ve watched. It reminds me a bit of Manner of Death but at the same time not. The acting is of course amazing since it’s Off and Gun. I also really like the other actors they’re great as well. It’s just an overall amazing series I would definitely recommend, so if you’re a little interested please try watching. Believe me it’s soooo worth it. Now remember this isn’t your a normal bl series so if you’re looking for maybe try another bl there are many great ones.

great story line

As much as I prefer romance this story line is intriguing. Splitting up identical twins is not in and of itself unusual in divorced families, the connection they have is incredible. This drama kept me riveted to the screen waiting for the next episode. I wanted to fast forward , but if I did I would miss something.

All the actors did a great job. The fighting scenes were realistic, except for when black smacked his brother when they first reunited. It was a bit contrived compared to all the other people he beat up along the way.

It’s not quite 50/50 Romance to Suspence but they do a great job of keeping your interest.

As you get toward the end you can’t help wonder when they are going to find out about the twin. I love the way the first person found out. Very unique and appropriate for this story line

Two problems I noticed closer to the end is their day time and night time shots kept bouncing. It wasn’t obvious if it was a “thought/recall” or present time. It it just felt like a hiccup in editing. The second was. Once Black return why was he almost
never seen with the group? Where was he ?what was he doing?

The all-together BL that everyone should see

Besides the rapid amount of time it takes to heal from a gunshot wound and, in my opinion, the ill placed relationship between one or two of the characters, I really enjoyed this drama as it exceeded my expectations in terms of what else I’ve seen from Thailand in the BL sector.

Personally, I didn’t feel that every character needed to have a happy ending. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that characters needed to necessarily die, even though that could have sparked a bigger hunger for fight amongst the gang, but more in terms of the various love lines we were given. Besides the out of place Dan redemption arc in his and Yok’s final scene, Gram’s entire love line was unnecessary and is something that should have ended once cleared up in the earlier episodes.

In saying that, I do feel that Black was one character in particular who should have gotten more focus in terms of the story line. Besides the lack of screen time and moments with his brother, or how he was fighting the system “behind the scenes'', we spent most of the series getting to know who he was WITH White, but in turn, the writers chose to keep him hidden while isolating him from his own friends and most of the story itself.

I also found it strange that the writers hinted at more than one potential relationship for Black and in both instances revoked them abruptly leaving us, the viewers, confused, especially the Gram and Eugene happy ending, where they simply ignored the fact that Black still had feelings towards Eugene. Not to forget the wasted opportunity that was the relationship between Black and Todd! They built that relationship so beautifully that it could have easily been a Romeo and Juliet or even a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope that could have also solved the Eugene problem, but alas, in those last two episodes we were robbed, for Karma purposes, I guess?

Two other smaller mentions in terms of plot and characters was the reasoning behind Gumpa’s existence and White’s purpose for going undercover. Firstly, besides Gumpa harbouring a gang of college boys in his garage, forcing them into all sorts of dangerous training while allowing them to set up and run with life threatening missions, we actually weren’t given ANYTHING about his character, there was no back story or reasoning to fight, was he simply a strategically placed wannabe Mr. Miyagi? Secondly, White’s original reasoning behind going undercover was quickly overshadowed by the political storyline. Although not a terrible move, it would have been a smoother transition with some sort of acknowledgement as White’s focus shifted.

As I mentioned earlier, overall, I really enjoyed this drama and I was fully invested in the story from start to finish, in fact, I binged it in one day! In terms of chemistry and acting, we have to give Off and Gun a round of applause for their performance. As always, they delivered, especially Gun , as he managed to do a convincing job of playing both the black and white swan. The choice of OST was also refreshing. After watching so many dramas, we KNOW just how repetitive the song choice can get, but the fact that they used various artists and songs throughout relating them to each scene, made a HUGE difference in the way the story was received.

Lastly, the overall arc of this story was an unusual one, especially in the Thai BL world. They took a varied spin on the boy’s varsity life and turned it into a story with great meaning and fight relating to the state of equality in Thailand. Okay, so the story itself was not necessarily THAT deep, but it did a great job in raising awareness, starting serious conversations and speaking volumes that so many can’t.

Whats not to like about this?

The acting great, the plot amazing, the chemistry spectacular. This may be one of the best Bl i have watched. The cast was great and the characters were all likeable. I like how this isnt really a Bl where they just focus on the leads kissing. The story was so great and it always made me hungry for more. The suspense, action and drama was just *chef kiss*. The background music was also great and I loved that there was no cringy sound effect. /spoiler but to be honest, the only thing that made me mad was how quicky Dan's actions was forgiven. Like I am all for forgiveness and all but bro he literally almost killed all your friends and you just forgive him like that. I would have liked it more, if they talked it out and went their separate ways, forgiven or not. cause what he did was just hard to turn a cheek tho but its still good I guess. This may be the greatest bl 2022 (for now) maybe next to bad buddy. Loved every second of it.

Its like a dumpster fire, a little bit of arson, pretty to look at but there is garbage involved

Alright, this one is a doozy, the premise: a squad of gays fighting corruption in the Thai law and police force, fucking amazing, so exciting. Less great, the MC, white, the most irritating piece of shit you've ever met, the actor who plays him does fine with playing Black so its clearly a character problem. The whole romance with Sean and White felt so left field, I thought white would be more likely to try eat lava than fuck Sean but here we are. And here I am watching ep 12 and white fucking kissing Sean with very clearly no consent (so sexually assaulting him). Also, Yok and Dan, loved that idea. Yok is fucking hilarious, I love him, I love the inclusion of deaf person into the narrative re: his mom, and Dan, as UNAR is iconic, love me some graffiti criticizing the government, but Dan as Dan *vomiting emoji* not only is his personality akin to that of a white break crust, he is also supposed to be one of the "good" cops which is not what you want to see in a series critiquing the police force. And then there is Eugene and Gram (RIP all the GramBlack supporters). It just makes me feel sorry for Eugene, like the woman is still recovering from dealing with the heartbreak from WhiteasBlack and Gram decides now is the time to shoot his shot, he unsurprisingly gets rejected and keeps fucking trying. Also, wtf is Grams's deal, like why is he there, do we know? All I know is I absolutely hated how domineering he was in ep 12, bitch didn't allow Eugene to have agency at all. Red Flags all the way. And then there is poor Gumpa who is being used and abused as nothing but a plot device. Why does this man just adopt random kids and train them like he was a military guy? why is he teaching basically children to fire a gun? Who's to say?

Overall, was it good? sure if you don't mind skipping the endless amount of SeanWhite shoved in your face constantly.
Now I know what you're thinking, Epsilon what did you expect. For one, something like manner of death, you know, where the romance and the plotline co-exist, instead of the romance undermining the plot, and second, a less irritating protagonist, like I'm sorry but Off and Gun felt more like to be Santa's elves at your local shopping mall than human rights activists. Like everyone else fits except those two. Also, I would have loved to see a woman in their squad, like Namo would have been an excellent fit and it would uplit her character to more than "person with a crush on Sean".

It's okay, but it's not over yet, hopefully, it will only get better

I quite liked it, it definitely deserves the hype.

I liked the acting (except Fluke, he was again painful to watch). I also like the dynamic of the gang & the bromance between the brothers. Whitesean was pretty cute, had good chemistry and dynamic, the relationship felt wholesome. I would have loved yokdan more (a cute love at first sight story), if Dan's character would have been played correctly...
I like the social criticism aspect and the message the story delivered, especially since it's about Thailand, one of the highly corrupt countries.
I wouldn't say that the series is perfect, but definitely good and worth watching.

Surpreendente

Already can't wait to rewatch

I was a little apprehensive going in to this, not entirely sure that a bluetooth twin connection that relies on proximity is quite the vibe - but for plot reasons it was helpful.

I found myself falling in love with White and Sean, even when they did stupid or illogical things, I rooted for them until the end. It is also one of the few times where at the end of these dramas I think to myself, that this couple will stay together in the longer term.
