Kinda clichè but really cute
I'm really surprised about the fact that this drama has such a low rate, i actually loved it. Even tho i found some of the things clichè i really appreciated how the dra,a was done. It was really cute from the begginning to the end, there was a lot of time that i was that angry that my blood boiled, but also a lot of time that my heart just melted of the cuteness of these two. They're my ideal relationship, and oh god if i'm a fan of the girlboss and softboy kinda relationship. Loved the slowburn of her feelings, and the development of his feelings from just something like a celebrity crush to actually love. I would totally rewatch it and i think it's rrally underrated. Was this review helpful to you?
A story filled with one too many clichés to make it a top tier web drama.
To start of, It's hard to expect a very intricate storyline when a web-drama features generally only around 1-2 hours of content even so this drama is able to keep the viewer interested due to the very good cast and of course the production crew. I would recommend this drama to anyone that is just looking for 1-2 hours of enjoyable drama time.Be My Boyfriend is a short & enjoyable drama with a story that is practically copy & paste of all the cliché moments from any other rom/com school drama put into a web drama format. You will enjoy all the scenes between the leads as their relationships progress, although towards the end you might feel like some things doesn't make sense for this story and was just added because why not add another cliché (they could've cut it at episode 13 and added the latter half of episode 15 as the ending)
Even with the lacking story with the enjoyable cast that portray their characters very well, especially the goofy friends and the visuals of the female lead it makes it a very enjoyable watch. To add to this the music is very upbeat and is good at adding more emotion to the correct scenes.
I'm giving this drama an 8 as the overall watch was very enjoyable and easy to rewatch since its shorter, although a bit too many clichés the cast's connection makes up for a mediocre story (which can't be that in-depth anyways due to the length of web dramas)

Nothing special :/
short & sweet —
Just to let everyone know, this story is a spin-off of the popular web-drama “Best Mistake,” and there are some minor cameos at the start, but that’s it.
Ultimately, this show had nothing more to offer than an unnecessary love triangle and cliché writing, some characters were selfish, others were caught in the crossfire of other characters decisions but it wasn’t anything to push you at the edge of your seat and stay entertained, idk what more to say honestly lol, acting wasn’t bad — could’ve been better, cinematography wasn’t the best, mostly filtered as most kdramas are, OST wasn’t terrible but wasn’t good either imo, pacing wasn’t bad but character development wasn’t tethered for the most part, I will say for the show overall, I’ve seen worse lol, but if you’re someone who likes some cliché love triangle fluff in the span of 15 episodes, I think this drama is perfect for you, that’s all I’ve got!

Nice little cliché romances? Oh yeah
Life is often clichéd, so I have nothing wrong with this little romance. It may be that many of the critics who write here have an exciting life between space flights and dragon fights. I, however, know life as it is depicted here. That's why it was pleasant to see the story arc presented in a believable way. Just as we experienced it at school, early love, crushes, "little" rivals, maybe our own lives were also clichéd.
I found the actors believable. The characterizations were also believable, one even thought to recognize certain schoolmates. The actors- I know little about career paths and possibly other films the actors have done.
The happy ending was nice, better than it usually happens in real life, but that's also a reason to watch such kitsch romances.

Fun, Feel Good Web Drama to Pass the Time
i watched this drama because siwoo and hyunseung acted together in shooting stars and they looked adorable together!if you love romantic cliches and need a quick, pick me up web drama, be my boyfriend is the drama to watch! i loved it because i felt butterflies, even when there were typical drama formula moments. baul and minji are so cute. the music was sort of awkward at times, but that’s my only minor complaint. overall, i’d rewatch if i was bored at home and had an extra hour or two on my hands.

A New Dawn
Due to the striking and unmatched popularity and brilliance of the original series, this spinoff was birthed, challenging its creators on a hasty race to attempt to top and dethrone its predecessor. An impossible challenge in hindsight, but through sheer perseverance, talent and hard-work, they managed to create this unrivaled anomaly, breaking all kinds of traditional convictions in its way and setting the bar on an unprecedented level, a new standard to be inspired by. This drama is a worthy celebration of true human ingenuity and artistry. It makes me wonder what humans will achieve next? Was this review helpful to you?
Solid story.
Solid storyline, Great character development especially for Hyungtak and Seungmin, I could really see both of them grow as characters in this web drama. I absolutely loved Minji, I just wish she maybe got more screen time. If you like romance, I'd recommend this to you, it's not lacking a plot and it doesn't feel rushed or too extra with tons of plot twists, it's just easy to watch and enjoyable. Out of most web dramas I've watched this is one of the ones that is the least lacking and feels like the acting is good. I enjoyed this!!Was this review helpful to you?
Cute
This drama was really simple and cute. I loved that it was very lighthearted. I have to give an applause for the main actors, they were amazing. I loved them in shooting stars, so as soon as I found out they acted together in this drama too, I couldn't resist myself. They are great upcoming actors, I can't help myself but to support them. Obviously, this drama did not have a very interesting plot, but it was like a simple cup of coffee in the morning. This drama made me blush and smile. I also do not believe an agency like Oh Jina's exist in real life but oh well, they tried to make idol entertainment less scary haha. Was this review helpful to you?
Nothing groundbreaking, but fun.
As other reviewers have said, the plot is very cliche. The acting is actually pretty good overall though, and I did feel invested in the characters.I especially liked the ML, who was very humble and sincere - not popular and stuck with a hopeless crush but not self-pitying about it. The FL was grounded enough not to seem too vain, so it was believable that she began to soften toward the ML and his friends. There were also a few funny parts I liked too. It’s nothing new and different, but if you’re looking for something short and sweet you might want to check it out.

Very cutesy short school drama. Took me back to my high school days
It was a nice break from heavy crime drama I am usually watching. This was just light, fun and soooo fluttering. While it's a typical and the usual school romance you could probably watch, I still love the fact that the main leads had a chemistry even if it's just a short drama. Nothing really spectacular on the storyline but deym did it give me butterflies in my stomach I didn't know still exist.I don't know any of the characters. I never seen them on other dramas but I already fall for them. I hope I can see them in longer dramas in the future. I really loved the duality of the male lead's character. He can be that gentle, kind and normal guy in the class but can be manly AF in a snap. The female lead's character is a bit confusing though because at times she felt like a cool good girl then there are times that she's like a spoiled brat. Nonetheless, her character has a good heart. That's for sure.
The supporting characters chemistry is also superb. I'm super into BaWool and MinJi. They're the cute couple. Even the second male lead is awesome. There were some plot holes for me that I felt a bit off and awkward but it wasn't that noticeable and if you look at the big picture it was still a great overall package. I recommend this if you feel like going back to your 'adolescence' when relationship still excites you like crazy.

Short fluff that is forgettable
April 28, 2021Be My Boyfriend is a pretty decent web drama. Nothing special in particular but I still like the series nonetheless. For example, there are certain parts of the series where the male lead Seungmin acts like your typical k-drama female heroine while the female lead Jina acts like the stereotypical male lead. I guess since it is a web drama, I am a bit generous on my rating. Tbh, if this is a regular drama, I would have probably given this a lower rating.
So all in all, this drama is short and fluffy. Easy to watch not emotionally draining. Something to watch when you are experiencing a drama slump like me right now who watched back to back Thai BLs. Also, I must say that the leads here have such great visuals. Especially, Jina's ex like I am not supposed to be rooting for him. But man he is so fine. Like every time he shows up I am straight up staring at him and not paying attention to anything else.
