Tsundere female, Docile male, frenemy ,heartbreak then happy ending

When I find myself really liking a drama & then it takes a nose dive, the frustration at the lost potential brings out the side of me that rants. This is one of those dramas- the ranting is in the spoilers, but first the non spoilers:
High school dramas are not my fav genre but I needed a break from another serious long drama so, this mini drama seemed a nice choice . I have to admit it made me smile. I was surprised that it turned out to be sweet-
UNTIL it went from 9 stars to 7.5 because:
they gave us a lame reason for a full stop to a relationship.
They did give us a happy ending ,But it was hard to forgive the oldest trope (& one of the dumbest), the mis named "noble sacrifice" conflict.
The kind where you want to slap a main character for thier idiotic choice ,(which you know they will recant!).
This drama give us a modern main male character- placid & biddable, like a calm loyal dog. We sort of give him a free pass for awhile as he is also younger than the female lead, BUT this trend of a passive male lead that the seemingly cold female lead can & will push around (& he will just takes it) is more feminist fantasy than truly romantic.
That got a small demerit point but the real problem I had with this drama is:

That the lead female chooses to let her jealous friend to dictate he love life is absurd. Yes the two friends had known each other a good many years, but the one friend was not a true friend & pretty much everything she said & did made it obvious that she wanted everything her friend had regardless of how it would leave that "friend".
Giving in to such demands instantly made the female lead even more undeserving of the male lead. & our sympathy for her plummets. That she turns the male lead down was ridiculous, yet We are supposed to forgive her because the male lead will forgive her ....but the warm feeling towards the leads as a couple is kinda ruined & you can't help but dislike the main female.
It's ludicrous that the female lead will let her "old" Ex boyfriend hang around even when she won't consider being friends with her newest Ex.
For the female lead to agree to not date the guy her friend likes...knowing full well that the "friend" will try to date him & not spare her feelings is so obviously not what a friend would do or ask- it just takes WAY too long for the female lead to actually figure this out!
The going on a date with a person, having a great day only to break up with them at the end of the day...WHO actually does this ?! it's SO mean !

Short fluff that is forgettable

Be My Boyfriend is a pretty decent web drama. Nothing special in particular but I still like the series nonetheless. For example, there are certain parts of the series where the male lead Seungmin acts like your typical k-drama female heroine while the female lead Jina acts like the stereotypical male lead. I guess since it is a web drama, I am a bit generous on my rating. Tbh, if this is a regular drama, I would have probably given this a lower rating.

So all in all, this drama is short and fluffy. Easy to watch not emotionally draining. Something to watch when you are experiencing a drama slump like me right now who watched back to back Thai BLs. Also, I must say that the leads here have such great visuals. Especially, Jina's ex like I am not supposed to be rooting for him. But man he is so fine. Like every time he shows up I am straight up staring at him and not paying attention to anything else.

It's 2023 and this is my first time watching this series. Although the story is very common, the chemistry between the main leads is captivating. Every second of their scenes feels new and refreshing. I ended up watching this entirely in one-go.

This series is quite short but acceptable. I might see myself re-watching this since every episode is less than 20 minutes in length.

Plus, because of this drama, I found the song that was stuck in my head all week long (one of the main leads in Light On Me was singing this song in a karaoke. I always replay that part before I watch kdramas).

I'm not biased with my rating. It just happened that the main leads are so good in their part. They are also a cute couple in 2022 series "Sh**ting Stars". Wish to see them again as young couples in the future dramas.

It's just the beginning but it's the best for me!

The casts of this kdrama may look young but they really do there best to understand the character that was given to them and they portray it well. Although some of the idea was based on the other kdrama and some of it has the same concept. The effect for me is different. This short kdrama is great. That's because of the efforts if the casts. Not only that. Also the crew the helped to tape this episodes. The Director also know how to handle his members well. I hope the length of the kdrama will be like the other kdrama 30mins will do. Keep up the good work. This made me really happy. :)

NOT BAD BUT I COULDNT FINISH IT.

I really dont have much to say about this drama. I started a while ago and still today i cant finish it.
The storyline wasnt bad but i think it wasnt executed very well.I really didnt like any of the characters, i found them annoying most of the times and the relationships didnt really made me excited to watch more. The acting wasnt bad but the whole story etc couldnt hold me. I will have to admit i really liked the main actress (not her character tho) and i hope i see more of her.
The only thing i actually liked in this show is the story of the second lead female, i think it was really interesting, but since i didnt like anything else i dropped it.
I guess it was not my thing.

Be My Boyfriend (2021) - this drama is really short so it's a good watch if you just want to have a past time.

It's quite childish, and not my type of drama since it was the timeline of high school. I hate school dramas especially if it's romance themed, it's quite unbelievable to me as a watcher. I'm not a fan.

I also am not familiar with the cast. They are I think newbie actors and actresses. As to the acting aspect, since they are relatively new, it's on the so-so side. They can act but needs more practice to be better.

This school drama maybe good to a younger audience. I just didn't like this drama.

Relação única entre soft/shy boy e badass girl

Be My Boyfriend me chamou atenção por conta do cast, em que o Kim Byeongwan do A.C.E faz o papel do Oh Baul. Sempre fico muito feliz em ver meus bias atuando, então fiquei curiosa para ver como o Jason iria se sair nesse web drama.

O drama conta a história de Lee Seungmin, um garoto tímido que tem um crush inalcansável na Oh Jina, uma garota popular que é trainee numa empresa de kpop. Ele sempre observa ela de longe, conciente de que nunca terá uma chance, até porque ela namora um atleta também popular. Até que, um dia, ela procura por ele e pede que eles tenham um contrato de namoro falso.

Be My Boyfriend flui de forma simples, por ser um web drama de dez minutos. O que mais me surpreendeu na trama foi a troca de papéis entre os protagonistas. Normalmente nós somos acostumados com a garota tímida e o garoto confiante, mas nessa história é o contrário: Seungmin é quem está sempre sorrindo de forma apaixonada, mantendo os ombros baixos e a expressão curiosa, enquando Jina tem sua postura confiante e olhar cortante. A cena que me fez perceber essa distinção foi quando Jina afaga os cabelos de Seungmin e eu pensei "Ei, isso é novo. Normalmente não seria o contrário?" e fiquei muito feliz em poder ver essa dualidade num drama coreano.

Agora, focando um pouquinho no personagem do Byeongkwan, porque eu sei que muita gente também vai se interessar no drama por conta dele: Já avisando, Oh Baul é o alívio cômico, o Ron Weasley da série, o "melhor do protagonista" e sua personalidade é bastante exagerada e esteriotipada. Ele é alegre, exasperado e sorridente, faz caretas e exclama suas falas de um jeito engraçado. Ele não aparece tanto na história, mas ainda tem um papel importante na trama e até uma namoradinha em certo ponto! Eu gostei dele por reconhecer toda a energia vibrante do Byeongkwan por trás do personagem, quem conhece o idol vai entender o motivo dele ter sido escalado para esse papel rs.

A problemática final te deixa com sentimentos múltiplos, mas as coisas são resolvidas de forma rápida e a protagonista demonstra entender que o que ela tinha escolhido não valia tanto a pena, então volta atrás e tudo dá certo no final. Gosto muito de como é mostrado no drama esse lado do desenvolvimento dos personagens, como em tão pouco tempo eles podem aprender coisas muito importantes nessa época da adolescência.

Por fim, Be My Boyfriend é um drama docinho, soft e fácil de assistir, ideal pra quem está procurando por um motivo pra sorrir na quarentena.

Commediola banale e leggera incentrata su adolescenti e rivolta a giovani fan di idol drama.
Buoni sentimenti, scaramucce prevedibili, spessore inconsistente.
Una passeggiata veloce - quindici episodi fortunatamente non troppo lunghi o impegnativi - che portano in scena i più ovvii tira e molla tra liceali, senza rinunciare a nessun aspetto prevedibilmente abusato: la ragazza bella e popolare ammirata da tutti, le amiche fidate, l'amica invidiosa e gelosa, il ragazzo belloccio e sbruffone ma pronto a redimersi e il giovane bello e bravo, non popolare ma che si rivelerà un ragazzo d'oro. Aggiungiamoci un contratto di finta relazione, e il gioco - visto, già visto, stravisto - è fatto!
Recitazione standard, niente di importante da segnalare. Un po' come la storia, senza nemmeno uno spunto veramente apprezzabile che sia uno. Visione che può fare da riempitivo quando proprio non si sa cosa guardare, ma nulla più.

Breve, ma carino

Perchè dovreste vedere questo drama? Perchè è breve? Sì. Soprattutto per questa motivazione e perchè nella sua brevità l'ho trovato davvero fatto bene. Ogni minuto gioca un ruolo importante, nulla è lasciato al caso e tutto viene chiuso in una giusta maniera. Forse avrebbero potuto metterci meno roba e focalizzarsi di più su altro, ma secondo me non è stato fatto un brutto lavoro. Parliamoci chiaro però: vi devono piacere i clichè, perchè questo drama ne sembra l'ambasciatore.
I due protagonisti insieme sono un amore, e mi è piaciuto che per un volta ML non sia un volto noto o che cmq diventi figo nel momento in cui viene scelto come partner. Rimane fedele a se stesso.
