a child who was not loved by the village can burn it to the ground to feel its warmth
brilliant casting, great production and a powerful script. In high school, the protagonist was essentially tortured by her classmates and nobody did a thing to help her. the show is about her revenge. I feel like season one is just her setting the table and season 2 is going to be the real feast.
the cast really did a great job bringing the characters to life. so much so that you'll find yourself wanting to punch people through the screen. Song Hye Kyo really did redeem herself with this show. I'm not saying that her last two shows were horrible just that they weren't doing things for her.
anyway, I really enjoyed the show and hope you enjoy it too

Song Hye Kyo the queen
It’s a great show with an elaborate story. Some challenging parts but once you overcome that, it’s a great show.Horrible to watch shin ye eun and compare her to her role in the revenge of others! What a great actress I must say.
Even the actress playing young version the FL is so talented so kudos on casting.
I love Lee do hyun in everything he does and happy to see him here.
Must watch if you like recent dramas!
Waiting for part 2 - I have some theories about the plot twist but I really hope the bullies burn in hell and minimal collateral damage.

who get's the glory
Our main character was bullied when she was a high school. But when she tried to report them even adults bullied her instead of helping like her homeroom teacher. The bullies torture her and even burned her with a hairdresser. Her mother also cooperates with them instead of helping her. One time she tried to kill herself because these burns are really painful. They are so painful that had to roll over the snow to cool them down. So, she decided to wait for her glory instead off dying. She waited years for those bullies to achieve their dream so that she can steal them.
This season we only saw her preparation for the final glory. The main story is yet to come in S2.
Can't wait to see want come next.
This show steals all the glory of this year 2022. So don't waste your time just watch it.

wait until season2 to watch this show
I am not one who writes reviews. I am one who relys on reviews so i dont end up watching time wasting kdramas and i feel like this is one of them. I partly started this kdrama because of all the instagram reels floating around. I wasn't much aware of how many episodes were there in the kdrama and that it also has a season 2 coming soon.Anyway, getting to the main point of the kdrama. This is one overhyped kdrama. There is absolutely nothing that's been resolved whatsoever. I understand the saying "revenge is a dish best served cold" but taking 8 episodes for setting the story and background and all is a bit too much. They could have ended this show with 20 episodes with the revenge and everything all at once but no. I came here for the possibility of murders and whatever, not for just the background. A hard pass until season 2.

I would do anything for revenge
This drama is a reflection of a big problem in our society, bullying., it shows the cruelty behind the issues of bullying in Korea. This is the first Song Hye Kyo drama I watched, it made me fall in love with her. Everything is perfect, the drama is very interesting from the first episode. It made me feel the pain and anger she felt when her classmates tortured her to hell. It also made me feel very good when she was slowly reaching her glory. Here she shows that she is a master of interpretation. Was this review helpful to you?

reality though...
aw, it was a good idea to address the problem of heavy school bullying - but sadly not the way it was done here -here is why:
what is good about it:
1. some few actors are good (especially some older side characters), the younger leads are ok - at best.
2. the storyline sounded promising
3. the soundtrack is rather good and fitting the topic
what is bad:
1. well, the main problem for me is reality. So the female lead shows us in 2022 what she does when she gives extra tuition to a bratty youngster. He verbally gets quite offensive, she listenes to it and then - tada - gets out her cellphone and tells him it's all been recorded, his mum heard it and this was his last lesson with her. So in the very first or second episode she shows us what anyone with half a brain cell would do in such situations.
So, we then get to see our female lead as a teenager at school and some really awful torture scenes of school bullying,
(that is my point 2 by the way, there was no need to show these scenes so excessivley, it had quite a touch of torture p0 rn which addresses the very wrong audience...to get over the message what happened to the poor girl a third of the scenes would have been way enough)
we fast forward to the year 2022 again, when our female lead has forged her revenge plans for years and finally gets to be the teacher of her arch enemie's little daughter. (I here do ask myself though how would a girl coming from her background with no parents, bodily heavily disfigured and traumatised, with no money and no connections get into college alone and study to become a teacher?) But I see the point that this is supposed to be a revenge story so let's get on.... all that happens then is nonsense. Her former torturer is now obviously very rich, (which lets me question by the way why a very rich person would send her daughter to the same school she was in together with our female lead, a very poor kid? Wouldn't a rich woman send her precious daughter to a private school, especially in South Korea?), our lead becomes the teacher of her little daughter and then - threatenes her verbally several, many, many times openly? Why would her enemy not simply tape all of the open threats ('you need to be punished and I will punish you' etc). She is rich and certainly has influential connections, so why would she let this go on for a single minute? Also our female lead tells her she should 'not dare to take her daughter out of this school' - well, why would she not do that? as she simply can?
So this whole revenge thing gets absurd as in the way it's shown it simply would be impossible. What would happen in reality is the rich woman, espcially one as cold blooded as this one is shown, would tape her threats, go to the cops, use her connections and either get our female lead arrested or even worse.
Also, if the police would find her room with aboot a thousand photos and news articles about the woman, they would certainly call her insane and obsessed and would take claims of threat against the woman and her child even more serious. Even if our female lead would then claim all the wounds on her body were inflicted by that woman in their teeager time? She would have no proof, and with the obsessive photo room the police would declare her dangerous and insane and claim she is just obsessed with the beautiful weather forecaster on TV because she herself didn't make it far in life, and she probably always has been jealous about the other woman, even back in their teenage years.
3. the dialouges were mediocre at best. The whole 'romantic' storyline with the young doctor? Didn't work for me. No chemistry, and the dialogues were horrid and seemed artifical and forced many times. (Especially in that scene in the park, where he asks her a concrete question and she suddenly starts to talk pseudo-poem stuff about the snow and whatever else) Also the whole storyline with these two seems so 'created' and not real to me.
4. Compared to other dramas with heavy content I found the acting ability of the leads rather bad to be honest. The bullies as adults were too overdrawn, they didn't seem like real people to me. Same reasons, artificial dialoges, speaking too loud or even screaming, some scenes looked like rather bad school theatre to me.
Conclusion:
a good idea to address the topic of school bullying - but not like that? You simply couldn't take revenge like it's shown here for at least 5 different reasons, most importantly because the possibility of taping and nipping all the great revenge plan in the bud.
It's more like a juvenile revenge fantasy, not thought through to any end. having immature fanatsies about revenge is just that - immature and far from intelligent. But as least for me, it has to be an intelligent, thought through story, otherwise it's more like playing ego shooters, no brains but what a satisfaction with brains off Oo
Disappointing.

Song Hye Kyo has arrived and HOW?!!!
Just completed The Glory a while ago and still trying to sink in everything …to call it one of the best drama this year is an understatement to what I feel during my watch…of course Kim Eun Sook is a great writer (you can watch her earlier works) but this time around she outdone herself .I also enjoyed the creative decision Ahn Gil-Ho and his team has taken for this drama especially the color grading (the blacks and the blues for Hye Kyo’s frame and the bright colors every time Do Hyun appears). Everything from Cinematography to screenplay to music to character development to locations were pitch perfect but all the imagery put behind the costumes and its symbolism took the cake and thank you for not white washing actors in this drama…they looked beautiful.
All the actors Park Sung Hoon, Jung Sung II, Ahn Ji Hye, Kim Hi Eo Ra, Yeom Hye Ran (my personal favorite) has done a great job but Im Ji Yeon evilness is off the roof , her aura alone can make you infuriate…what a goddamn gifted actress. Jung Ji so and Shin Ye Eun …you guys were incredible…I felt all your emotions and cried with you Ji So and words cannot define how much I hated you Ye eun for your portrayal of head bully …These young talents (all the teen actors who played bullies) did a great job and should be watched out in their future endeavors.
I can only say Lee Do Hyun, you are going places (your all works and choices are testament to this), with that range and intensity, it never surprises me when all the big screen writers and productions houses approaches you to play their main character, I cannot wait to see you in all your glory in the next season. Your suffering was also heartbreaking.
To Song Hye Kyo, The Song Hye Kyo, you proved once again why you were call the queen of queens when it comes to acting , to play such a vulnerable character with that stance of commitment needed the audacity of an actress with prolific 20 years career and boy did you surprise me …I cannot wait for another season for you to make all their lives hell because in the lines of song hye kyo she has not even started yet…..

Good story, but there aint no glory in splitting it in two
I do not know how much glory there is in here yet, but there is a superwoman who is obsessed with revenge (for good reason), and a whole lot of people who will indeed help you loose all hope in humanity and very few people to restore that faith. The drama offers us a whole bunch of good lines, decent acing a good OST and a whole lot of chemistry... and tension. But do not for a second think this is a romance, nor expect a of of screen time for Lee Do Hyun as it is very clear that the main character of this drama are Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) and Park Yeon Jin ( Im Ji Yeol the rest are just there to support them. Some characters were more well written than other but in general this is a good drama with good acting and people who know what they are doing. There is also a lot of attention to detail, and scenes that may put you off frying, bbq... Or basically anything that cooks meat...
Our heroine gives off a calm patient vibe, with great build up making me wonder what she has in store for these people. She is smart, focused and most definitely has a master plan, or so we hope. And would rather share her time with an executioner rather than looking for a prince. And though all she has in her mind is revenge it is hard not to fall for her, as she has a lot of charm to accompany the empty slightly evil calculating look in her eyes.
The drama is also highly binge-able and ands with a cliffhanger, which bothers me quite a bit, as I honestly can not see any reason other than annoy the audience to split this drama in half. As I may only have a few days till next season, but had I watched it at time there would be a risk that I would have forgotten or lost intrest with time, which is a shame since it is a really good drama. It may not offer a lot new to the table but it is still a good drama, just slaughtered to be split in two halves.. But I am not bitter... not at all..

Great show all the way to the finish
Was an incredible watch covering bullying and the horrors it brings for endless amount of time afterwards. It is definitely a tough topic to cover but the writers did a great job with this one. This was the first k-drama i ever watched with my mom she loved it and got super invested. It was just the second one she has ever watched and ended up being one of her favorite shows she has seen! Revenge focus type dramas aren't usually what I dive into unless I hear a lot of good things about it because i have found they getting boring after a bit with revenge plots being poorly written by the conclusion of a show but the story and top notch acting kept me into it the whole way. The cast was perfect with every character being done so so good that actually makes you want for a character's downfall or rooting for their revenge and following along because you expect it.Part 1 and 2 are definitely a need to watch

The game has just begun
The expectations came very high for this drama, but honestly speaking, the impact is not as powerful as it was designed to be. A school bully revenge arc storyline isn't something new as we've seen plenty of them in kdrama, but to put it into this kind of lifelong grand scheme, it is still a decently respectable plot, and it was mostly lifted by the great acting performance from the actors. The details it has are quite enormous in scale though some of it may happen like magic science but that's forgivable, it's just that it gets extremely soapy towards the end. Definitely have to wait for part 2 to come as things seem pretty exciting at the moment and the game has just begun. Was this review helpful to you?
Best drama of end of 2022 and Start of 2023
Chemistry on point.Characters on point.
Story line never disappoints.
OST is on point.
Awesome acting from the casts.
EPISODE 6 for me is the best specially the last 10 minutes.
One of the best drama I had ever watched so far..
You cant see the awkwardness between shk and LDH. Stop nitpicking the age. I am 25 and always willing to date older women. Age for is just a number.
When a new scene arrives the OST IS AWESOME AND ON POINT.
LLDH AND SHK scenes are limited but their sparks are flying everywhere.
The season 2 is something that we should watch out for.

The Glory
The Glory is the best drama this year that relates to real life of people from childhood to adulthood. A lot of people go through life being hurt by others unnoticed. People are being hurt from childhood and the scars are on their arms and legs covered with clothes. The Glory should teach bullies a lesson. Wait and see the end of the wicked, that is what The Glory tells us. When the teacher Dong Eun tried to take revenge there were a lot of people who have been hurt similar way who were ready to help. People are always afraid to voices out what is happening to them and or they do not have enough words to express themselves. The story line is accurate, the actors are perfect. When people are hurt they either become aggressive or dull and there is always no in between. The characters are acting and reacting based on what they went through from childhood. Who can stop you then when your are badly hurt inside. People live good life and they do not have mercy for others who are not fortunate like them. They teach their children and they also become like them if they are not stopped by a bold and confident person. The story is true. Most school children are suffering from bullies who come from rich families. How many people from the poor family can actually get the nerve to bully someone, except those who have the backing of parents who can pay their way through with money. In this modern world children who are bullied usually bury themselves in their computer but this story is taking it raw so it covers from when there was no computers and games and movies to this modern times. The acting is perfect for people who have been hurt in the past through physical violence and verbal abuse. The speed of the acting is correct, Dong Eun is trying everything she can to get money for her activities. She is relating to children the way she should. The music should have been a bit frightening, more fearsome and more violent, for the wicked to fear more for their lives. Ju Yeo a calm person in nature is also doing his best to help. What I did not understand from the beginning was that was he also a victim of the bulling? If he was did he have any plans to revenge. Park Yeon was a good example of school bullies, no consideration not even people she called friends. The house helper who suffered domestic violence what a shame to men who raise their hands to their wives. Watching someone’s reaction at the mortuary reminding them of what they have done in the past is excellent. This is a good drama showing that no one can play God. There is only one God that I give this Glory to. People should learn because there is lessons learned going on here. The abuser was so scared of her own daughters life. Was this review helpful to you?
