Both dramas are adapted from the same manga by Toyota Yuu (???); "30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii" (30??????????????????)

They have the same characters, office setting and storyline, but different styles of acting and humor, Japanese vs Thai.

They are both office romances and have a light-hearted feeling/vibe to the shows. Two soft hearted people falling in love in both series.

Although the settings that the shows take place in are different, they are both Japanese BL shows and they are both adapted from mangas. They both have that wholesome, comical, and cute vibe about them. The two shows are of high quality as well. So, if you are a fan of Cherry Magic like I am… I think you would be interested in this one as well!!!

Both are BLs with sweet, yet awkward couples. Both shows have a popular cool guy who is secretly pining for a socially inept nerd. I think if you like the humor in Cherry Magic, you'll enjoy what Crank Up Hen has to offer. Crank Up Hen gently pokes fun at workplace BLs like Cherry Magic.

In both of the story, the high achieving Main Lead is interested in their insecure peer. In addition to that, their love interests are yet to come to terms with their same-sex attraction. The story follows the love that develops between these two.

This is a spin-off episode from the show, in its first part we see the main leads' first valentine's day together, the second part is about one of its secondary characters instead.

Hira Kazunari, a high school student who doesn't talk much, has no friends and belongs to the bottom of his class. The person he falls in love with at first sight is Kiyoi Sou. He is "The King" who doesn't hang out with anyone, is equally ruthless, and reigns at the top of the class. With the hope Sou will notice his presence, Kazunari serves him devotedly, running errands and buying lunch. But his faith in the absolute monarch gradually falls into lust.

A change in the stakeout team throws Onoe, reporter for a weekly magazine, together with his contemporary, Kaburagi, a photographer. Onoe secretly considers Kaburagi his rival, and Kaburagi's haphazard way of doing things goes against Onoe's strong sense of ethics. There's nothing but conflict between them. But, in joint pursuit of a scandal, the two of them begin to care about each other...? ~~ Adapted from the manga "Ameiro Paradox" by Natsume Isaku

Both main protagonists tend to put others first, and we as audiences hear their internal thoughts throughout the series. If you are seeking for another show that involves workplace setting this show may be for you.

Other similarities include:

Both include a comedy genre
Confused male lead
Gay character
Discovery of co-workers feelings
Both ML's surnames are 'Kurosawa' o.o
Confident ML's are considerate of Confused ML
A similar pattern of relationship build-up (Slow burn)
Features well-known actors

The gap between Cherry magic and Ossan's love:

A smaller circle of characters introduced in Cherry magic compared
to Ossan's love's range of AB list actors.
Ossan's love tends to explore more topics that touch upon reality
while Cherry magic focuses on the fantasy elements
Cherry magic has a fitting ost and the opening song
Cherry magic's Kurosawa is portrayed to have common sense and understanding of ML

Both are Japanese productions. I find if you like the Japanese style found in Cherry Magic you’ll also enjoy other Japanese stories. The characters in both end up working together and fall because of their interactions working together. Both are overall fluffy, while you get some (spoilers!) actual good kisses at the end of Restart After Come Back Home.

Now hear me out, I am well aware of the very BIG differences between these 2 series. Cherry Magic is really clean (everything happened behind closed doors, and is kept to a minimum), has a dash of magic realism, and is a BL romance on top of that. Rinko-San shows multiple intimate scenes on screen, is much more grounded in a realistic plot, and they are definitely straight.

But the driving premise, being a virgin well past the age that the average person is, is performed pretty similarly. And our main characters have such humorously similar imaginations and reactions to their romantic interests being forward with them. Not to mention, they both explore that workplace romance trope with established coworkers (rather than new ones), have friends inside and out of the workplace, with a friend that acts as a bit of a "love-guru" to the main.

So despite the pretty obvious differences, I couldn't help but be reminded of Cherry Magic when watching Rinko-San.

Both are office romances- boss and subordinate. Both are cute.
Both have couples with great chemistry.
Cherry Magic is more comedic and it has a fantasy element.

While still a virgin at 30, Adachi Kiyoshi gains a magical power – the ability to read other people's minds by touching them. At first, he’s overwhelmed by his new ability, and it’s not proving to be helpful to him. But that all changes when he accidentally touches Kurosawa Yuichi, whom he learns has romantic feelings for him.

Both are BL dramas with one grumpy and introverted ML and one often smiling, popular, and extroverted ML.
