Beautiful show with ep11 curse

I personally really liked this show. After such a long time I had this overwhelmed feeling while watching this drama that I had while watching TharnType, Love by chance and WhyRU. This show may not be everyone's cup of tea seeing the type of bl dramas that came in 2021 but it has its own charm. Maybe I have been watching bl dramas since "make it right: the series" era so I felt a little nostalgic with the style this show was running. It's execution reminded me of those times. This is definitely on my rewatch list and LeoFiat are beautiful in the series.

Appreciation for Don't Say No team

Well worth the wait and watch ...

So I got pretty interested in Leo & Fiat from the Tharn & Type hype, and even though that drama has topped all BL for me this year, This drama didn't disappoint me.

Apart from the fact they were well suited for each other, and did an excellent job with this, along with the all the other characters who I must say were really amazing for they first time drama or screen time, (Hope to see a Leon/Pbob story line)?

So the story of Fiat and Lea was really good got to understand why fiat portrayed himself the way he did, and Leo finally standing up for his love and having the courage to get his man. It also touched on some very sensitive issues, such mental health, and toxic side of there relationship. For me I liked the fact the Leo was able strong enough to handle fiat breakdown, and stand up for his man, when his mother came and used emotional blackmail to turn him away from the people that loved him, and for me the turning point was how Leo showed how loved fiat was with all his friends and his family,, that was an amazing scene put together!!

As for the Leo possessive, Dam he can tie/lock me up, that scene was so hot and showed how much his love was there for Fiat.. I was down with that!!!

The only downside of this drama, is that I felt the NC scenes were not as hot as Thran & Type, but story and the chemistry overruled that.

Overall: This drama well done and everything and everyone about was amazing HATS OFF TO ALL!!!!

And once again, my heart is with the second couple

I’m a sucker for a friends-to-lovers plotline. We met both Leo and Fiat in TharnType Season 2, and I really liked both (ignoring the kidnapping part). I know Fiat was supposed to be the villain and there are things he has done that I do not agree with, but he was just looking for love. Even if in the wrong place.

Leo & Fiat: the two have been friends since forever, so them moving from being just friends to being more was something that required a lot of adapting from both. I really like how awkward things got at times – like the two are used to sharing a bed, but once they become lovers, neither of them knows how to act or what to do. It had a very realistic feel to it. There were plenty of weird messes to deal with, both past and present, but I think that is a very MAME thing to do. I did not like how most of them were dealt with, to be honest. But at least their communication was good, and consent was always clearly given. Also, can we talk about how cute Fiat sounds when he is all whiny and calls Leo? I swear I wanted to pinch his cheeks every time he went “Leoooo.”

But back to the messes – am I the only one who thinks that the issues brough up are important and difficult topics to deal with, yet they seem to be dealt with very poorly and with no real understanding of their severity? Rape, kidnapping, blackmailing, drugging, child abuse… all very serious topics, yet they seemed to be just brushed aside. And it often seems like the sympathy is misplaced, instead of worrying about the victim of the situation, everyone seems to worry about others.

Leon & Pob: they are so adorable together! They are very different from one another, yet they fit each other so well. Pob is a lot more reserved and doesn’t open easily, while Leon seems to be a bit of a troublemaker. Pob does come across kind of cold and rude at times, but it’s hard to be upset about it when we know his past. Leon is persistent, I give him that, but he was not creepy about it. He was very respectful about boundaries, and always checked for consent before doing anything. I really like the fact that Leon was pansexual, confirmed, as it does show diversity in sexualities. BL shows tend to know only two sexualities – gay and “not gay but I love you” when it comes to their pairings. So, this was a nice change. And I, once again, fell for the second couple. Their ending though… I can’t wait for their series.

I think Leo’s and Leon’s parents are great. I do find their mom a bit too intrusive at times, but with everything Fiat went through and with Pob being an orphan, I love how open she was to accept both of them. I also really enjoy Fiat’s relationship with Leon, the two act like brothers – they argue, they tease each other, but they also have each other’s backs. Fiat’s parents on the other hand are a complete mess though. I really don’t get the thought process behind his dad’s actions, his mom is trainwreck. But at least his stepmom is nice, and I liked his little sister too (especially her sharp tongue and honesty).

The friends were okay. I really like how supportive they were of Leo and Fiat through everything. I am completely in awe of Anda though. She is Leo’s friend and a totally badass. I love her character. She has this “I’m in charge” aura around her, and she can handle everything very well. Natsu was a cutie too!

The styling was on point though. Each character had a unique style and I love how it was incorporated into the series. And I’m back to Anda – her styling was absolutely gorgeous! And Fiat’s red suit? Yes, please!

Not a Romance series *HIGHLY TOXIC*

All I can say is the relationship between Leo and Fiat was not a healthy one. They were clearly overly obsessed with each other . Idk why they showed it as it was OKAY to be this obsessed with your partner that you can bear anything like you can do anything they say just to be by their side ??!! EVEN IF HE HAS TO HURT HIMSELF FOR THAT . no this doesn’t sounds romantic at all.Leo was ready to be ANYTHING literally ANYTHING do anything just to keep Fiat by his side. Leo even said that if he could HE WANTED TO LOCK HIM UP AND DONT LET FIAT SEE ANYONE . They portrayed it in the drama as it was really okay to feel this level of possessiveness towards your partner. There are several kinky scenes they were good the actors really did a good job but the story ahh.
What I felt was more than Romance their relationship was more Toxic kind.
The side couple Leon and pob were were cute but they didn’t give them a good ending but I see another series of them coming up , a sequel to their story in this one.
One thing that I really liked about this drama was the main leads parents , omg his mom we need more people like her in this world!! Plus his friends were also exceptionally supportive and fun. I’m so in love with those twins !<3
If you want you can give it a go but rewatching it is something I won’t surely do ;)

I like it but it could have been better

I believe this is Mame's first time as a screenwriter and it kinda shows. She is good as an author (for the most part although I do have a few complaints there too) but as a screenwriter, I guess she needs a bit more training. The series could have gone a bit smoother then.

Overall, this was a good watch. Being a continuation of TharnType it was exciting to see those characters again and their point of view. Fiat's struggles were very real. Having gone through something traumatic because of his parents affected his whole personality. It shows why he acted the way he did in the past and why he is like this in the present as well. Not exactly sure what mental health struggles his mother was going through. There have been speculations that it is Borderline Personality Disorder. If so, it seems to be of the worst kind ever as people with BPD are able to deal with it with the help of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. This show needed to show mental health and issues in a not so negative light and that there are procedures that can work and help the individuals with struggles.

Leo seems like a perfect man, honestly. Except for him being a coward at times especially when it comes to Fiat but his life is great. He is a rich, good-looking guy with a loving family and has just about all the luxuries of life. Who wouldn't wanna be with this man? Just like any drama, the lack of communication between the leads causes misunderstandings and dramas which causes the break-up in the cursed ep.11 (I don't think it is a spoiler because every BL drama fan knows this)

Leon and Pob was the best part of the series. Is it just me or do we always tend to love the side couples more? They are so lovable and cute together from the start. The whole while when Leon was pursuing Pob was absolutely adorable and respectful. The end though... broke my heart. Both of them crying while holding on to the keychains was too much. They both have such sweet adorable faces and to see them ugly cry was devastating. Smart and James are good together and both are dancers too. Hope to see more collabs of them.

The lesbian couple, An and Nat were super cute too (wish they could have gotten a backstory too) The twins, Aek and Theo were super entertaining as well as Nam. Honestly, enjoyed the side couples just as much. They were all very good and funny as heck. Looking forward to seeing all of them in future projects soon.

MLs Perfect Chemistry + Love is Patient & Bearing but Communication is Crucial to make it WORK~!!!

I have so much to say and I'm literally overflowing with adjectives to describe how this Series made me FEEL so let me do my best to summarize my experience with this piece.

First and Foremost, Finally~!! I was able to watch it after being stuck on my watchlist for such a long time. It was a drama I anticipated a lot since TharnType The Series and was able to live up to my expectation.

One thing I'm really impressed and so in love about this drama is the Main Couple's compatibility and chemistry. Both are good looking and has their own unique features that truly complement each other but what I love about them the best is their overflowing charisma that very few BL Couple can actually show effortlessly. It's leaking out of them so naturally like it's no ones business. ^^

Anyways, I really wanna highlight how the story might not be perfect but has a lot of good plot points that tackles so much issues that help the CP to improve and better understand each other. + The rather peaceful and calm demeanor of Leo, his friends and his parents made this drama a whole smooth ride. I must say that the only moment I felt so enraged of, is during the 2nd to the last episode (with King & Punn). Oh well I don't wanna be reminded of that so let's move on. Hahaha~

I know that it's too soon to end this; but honestly, the drama just revolves around the Main Couple like 85% of the time so let me just conclude the main portion of this review by saying that the Main Couple are truly the Ace of this Series and that they were NEVER over shone by anyone.

Finally, this couple will surely remain in my heart as the most patient, bearing and careful to the point where it has become a reason for their misunderstanding at the end. It thought me how important communication is and how essential it is for both parties to be vocal and transparent as much as possible to each other to further nurture the relationship.

P.S. I'm a bit sad with Leon & Pob's ending but I understand the context the series is trying to tell us. They want us the understand that right timing and patience is a major substance to prove one's love and worth. Also, the Basketball Gang & the MLs Friends made this drama more interesting and funnier.

Story - 9.5, The plot and context of the story is very clear to me after finishing it and those are patience and understanding. It may not have the most outstanding script out there but it do provide good narrative which entails different views and occasions in life that made the entire story worth the watch.

Acting/Cast - 9.5, Main Couple is Really Good. Specially Fiat. Just wow! He carries his character like a real PRO. He really went all out with his execution and I'm highly satisfied with his performance. Same goes to Leo who has this kind and gentle demeanor but can make all of their Kissing Scenes into a hot and lustful one. One thing I noticed is that the side characters just felt a little awkward at times and probably needed more experience. Nonetheless everyone was Good.

Music - 10, The placement of the music is great + it helps that the lyrics are being translated during their runs cause it truly made me appreciate the song itself even more. I really got no complains aside from the fact that they could've use more Songs to make it all better.

Rewatch Value - 9.5, A Good Drama I would rewatch if I happen to missed the Main Leads (Just skip Episode 11 cause King & Punn infuriates me Lol). They truly are the star of this show and no one can stole it from them. Love them so much.

Overall - 9.0, Really wanna give this drama a higher score but I also felt like this score is sufficient no matter how many times I re-evaluate it. I just feel like it's lacking something crucial that can make it even better. It was a decent Story with a clear direction on how they want to present it to their choice of viewers and/or audience.

Strong Themes !!

this is my first review.
The best part about this show is how it dealt and resolved the presented matters. it underlined the importance of communication between all forms of relationships, while, also highlighting the impacts of miscommunication. The trauma Fiat went through explains a lot about his character and his constant need to feel loved and wanted. While Leo can be the epitome of boyfriend materiel he has his own insecurities that he deals with as he explores his relationship with Fiat. All in all the show is a good reminder that life is not perfect and love is about forgiveness and understanding. Leon and Pob are the sweetest heartbreak in the BL world...they need their own story!

Love is worth waiting for

Leo's constant love for Fiat was touching. They had the insecurities of a blossoming relationship but still they discussed how they felt and their expectations. Fiat wasn't a weak person but he was broken due to childhood abuse. Leo was protective and tried to involve himself in Fiat's life without being invasive.

The secondary romance has real potential for a sequel.
They have a genuine love and respect for each other. Leon and Pob obviously we're passionate. It would be disappointing not to have their follow up story.

I really liked how accepting the parents were of their relationship. Their attitudes supported the normalcy of a loving relationship regardless of gender.

Love it, way better than the parent story TharnType!

Loved this so much!! way more than the parent story TharnType. The acting and chemistry in the main couple of TharnType felt very forced and unnatural, they didn't handle Type's trauma very well and the they had little to no background story.

Don't Say No was much better, its as if the producers listened to the fans in whats lacking in the TharnType story and used it to make the best out of this series. The acting here is muchhh better and the chemistry between the two couples feels very natural and strong. If you were to tell me that Leo and Flat are dating irl I would flat ass believe you!! They handled Flat's background story and trauma very very well. TharnType literally felt like 10% plot and 90% sex, skipped so much watching it. But I didn't skip anything in this series, loved all the characters, friends, and even Leo's parents. Even though Leo and Flat also had lots of hot scenes but it wasn't the center of the plot like in TharnType which I appreciated.

This series is one of my favorite BLs now!

For those sad about Pob and Leon, don't be- they have their own upcoming series called "Just Say Yes! The series," https://mydramalist.com/718549-just-say-yes-the-series

I'm really going to miss Flat and Leo, they're sooo cute, reminds me of the chinese HIStory series

Read some of the comments and noticed people blaming whatever they didn't like about any series adapted from MAME's books on the author and not the directors of the actual series.

Like yeah.. MAME wrote the novels, but the directing and exaggeration of scenes or whatever depends on the producers and directors of the series. If you actually personally read MAME's novels in person and are judging the story based on what you read then your reviews make sense. But judging MAME's novels based on the adapted series that is up to the director and not the author?

We all know that novels aren't always carbon copy and perfectly adapted into dramas so whyyyy.. oh well

So far, so good!

Okay, first things first.
I put off watching this show for the longest time because I hated Fiat's character in TharnType S2. But this show pleasantly surprised me. Hat's off to Leo's patience that he put up with all of Fiat's shenanigans. Given a chance, I would reach out through my screen, and slap him hard. He is selfish, manipulative and not even a halfway decent character. But aren't all of us like that at some point in our lives? We all have out moments, where we turn into Fiats by and large. Maybe that's why we hate him so much in the beginning. His past trauma was so hard to bear.
His mother is ill. But does his dad explain everything to him? No! He decides to martyr himself. That's absolutely ridiculous. I hate parents like these, who traumatise their children more under the guise of it all being 'for their own good'. This is the silliest and most immature trope. BL writers, please give it up. Type's dad was another so called righteous dad. Ugghh! But I admire and respect Leo for being able to communicate for both their sakes and take no nonsense from anyone, including Fiat when needed. I had thought he is was a pushover when it came to Fiat, but he stood his ground when needed.
The friends and teammates all have my heart. The twins are the sweetest. I however didn't like the fact that they were not given proper screen time and were instead reduced to being literal sidekicks, as in, they walked into the screen when needed, and walked out when their work was done. It was considerably mishandled.
Now let's come to the best and most amazing part of this show, everyone's favourite, Leon. he is absolutely the bestest character that I have ever met in all the BL series I have seen so far, and I have seen many. He is sweet, polite, respectful of his partner and steady as a rock. He is truly boyfriend material. I think people like him exist, but under a rock somewhere. I just need to find him!

So all in all, until now, going good. I am left with 2 more episodes so let's see where we go from here!

Quick update:
I am done with it. But why oh why are the women always the lying, manipulative bitches in BL dramas? Please stop it now! High time. I am ok with the ending. I am hoping though they make a story for Leon and Pob... they were my absolute favourites!!...

Let's talk about Leo and Fiat

I can't believe it's over. "What am I going to watch now?," crossed my mind during the final moments of the last episode. A few minutes ago I finished the 4th round.

I found Fiat and Leo back in the day in TharnType: 7 Years of Love where they gave us the first glimpse of their undeniable chemistry that knows no rival and stirred up quite a drama in our beloved TT's relationship.

So let's take a brief look back on how Leo and his baby cub Fiat debuted. Fiat took off as an impulsive and childish villain who tries to hit a nail between Tharn and Type despite of Leo's efforts to stop him without realizing that Fiat's true feelings belong to him. Leo, who practically raised Fiat is willing to do anything for him out of love that has grown since their childhood. The disaster that this unconditional love creates paves a way towards their romantic relationship. The disaster that also puts Type in harms way but does not fall flat on either of their stories. After all, Type needed this little nudge to acknowledge Tharn's worth and push their relationship forward from the standstill where Type's conservative mindset had left it.

It was only natural that I would pick up the spin-off series "Don't Say No" which dives deeper into the stories of Fiat and Leo with whom I already had fallen madly in love with and it does not disappoint. Just like the Korean tv-series "It's Okay Not to be Okay", both rom-coms dig deep into personal growth, tackle mental health issues, family affairs and the healing power of love. The narrative hits home with the harshness on how our family issues and social affairs transform not only the society we live in but our lives individually. You can love or hate our two heroes but one cannot ignore that they are a fine example of ordinary people and their emotional mess no matter how strong they pretend to appear. In all honesty I could read Fiat like a book. I've met him before- he lives in me. I, too am an emotional person but show it to only a very few people just like Fiat opens his vulnerable side only to Leo. Also a Leo resides in me- my affectionate self who takes care of my close ones unconditionally like Leo does. So when you look closely, those two young men make a one person. They are two sides of the same coin offering one another a satisfaction of revealing their true selves. One needs the other to care for them and another needs to be needed.

I appreciate Fiat's character- he is vulnerable, immature, reckless, reacts before he thinks. He is an emotional boy with a deep soul who is begging to be loved and whose self-defense is counter-attack. As a child who escapes from abusive home and is welcomed by Leo's family, he awakens Leo's nurturing, protective, fatherly side. Leo who himself is a kid, maybe a year or 2 older, ends up taking care of Fiat. Together they complete each-other, create an unbreakable bond and along the way fall in love yet both lack courage to confess that love. They are a fine example of how important honest communication is and how misunderstanding one-another can result in mistakes that can't be undone and trigger saying things that can't be taken back.

The series indicates that loving-kindness goes a long way and reminds us to keep an open mind. It proves that patience, understanding, caring about one-another, ability to listen, as well as acceptance, tolerance, and forgiveness are crucial to not only for personal healing but also fundamental for building strong, long-lasting, nurturing relationships which stick through tough challenges whatever those may be. The perfect imperfection is the underlying beauty of Leo/Fiat's history. Presenting complex stories and personalities like these help to build kinder, more mature societies where judgement, victim-blaming, 'slut' shaming has no place. Wasn't this the point that Leo's mother was trying to make?! "You've got nothing to apologize for or feel bad about," she said, "you weren't even dating Leo at the time." Isn't our society exactly like Fiat's fussy multi-layered persona? Shall we follow his lead and with little effort change our community for the better one step at a time. I have faith that gradually we will create a more beautiful world for all. One just has to try. "You can't or you haven't tried someone once said," Leo quoted.

Here I raise a glass to all real life Leos and Fiats. Cheers!

WHAT A PITY

a) Story
Before starting my review I have to say that I have watched the entire series. It is said that I haven't just because I have just gone through the last three episodes because I didn't wanna watch them. I have appreciated the first nine episodes and also the 10th cause I know what happened even if I didn't see it all. I have wanted for a long time to rate this series with a different grade like 8.5 or even 9 cause I was enjoying it a lot. The type of story that goes from friendship to love is also one of my favourite ones. I just lose interest in this work when I understand what was going to happen in the last two episodes. I know there are good scenes even there but I didn't wanna watch them because I knew that every time is the same thing, every time are gonna happened those nasty events that you don't wanna see. The question is why, why are these occurrences always on screen? In my opinion, the series will be watched even without them.
I gave at the story 7 because the first nine episodes were charming: all the things were going well, the characters were talking to each other (and this is rare) and solving problems together like a real couple would have done. I also found some characters interesting like Fiat's mother's one because I have always seen problems associated with rivals (like King) and homophobic parents but she was different. Secondly, although his actions at the end, my favourite persona so far was Leo. He was there when needed, he was always fighting for Fiat and supporting him, he was not against having fun too and properly jealous. Don't you think that he is similar to Dean from Until We Meet Again?

b) Acting
The acting was well done. First was the number one for me: his crying scenes were awesome like the ones with his parents. Ja was pretty good too but sometimes his expressions were strange, I don't know how to express myself, I just could understand that he was acting. James, Smart and the others also did a great job.
Love scenes were cute, so cute, with both the main and the side couple I felt the affinity between the two actors. I have to say that I don't like when they say something like: «I have to leave or you will be in danger» «I won't be able to stop myself». These are cringe sentences that for me can be omitted. I noticed the quick changing of the atmosphere, from sweet to seducing during LeoFiat scenes, something that I appreciated. Further, I enjoyed the fact that Fiat got some experience in sex, thanks to this those scenes were more attractive. Regarding Leon and Pob I loved the way they kissed, for the fact that Smart took James' neck and not his cheek.

c) Music
The songs were enjoyable, differently from the effects during the episodes. I can understand that this series was a little dramatic sometimes and that those effects could help defuse the atmosphere but they were too many.

d) Rewatch value
I have rewatched the first seven episodes at least three times each; regarding the others, I have just viewed my favourite scenes. I must say that this series was gorgeous and I am sorry about my rating but I am so disappointed in the last episodes.

P.S. I don't consider the rewatch value in my final rating.

thank you for reading my review :)
