Lack of a proper story

"I recently watched Boyhood (and loved it). As I noticed people comparing it with "Weak Hero Class 1," I became intrigued and started watching this action-packed Kdrama yesterday, finishing it in one day, lol.

Now, regarding the comparison, Weak Hero Class 1 is as much like Boyhood as Titanic is similar to The Notebook. Yes, they share similar themes, but that's about it.

What I loved about Weak Hero Class 1 were the action scenes; they were satisfying, nicely choreographed, and looked cool. The acting was also great; the two main characters, Si Eun and Soo Hoo, had so much chemistry that I had to Google if this show was a BL, lol.

However, putting the positive aspects aside, what I didn't like about Weak Hero Class 1 was the lack of a proper story. The narrative kept changing, and the plot was inconsistent. It felt to me like the sole purpose of the drama was to showcase the fighting scenes instead of focusing on the story.

That being said, I loved the show and would definitely rewatch it sometime in the future."

Falta muy poco para la 2da temporada!!!

Apenas ví esta serie, ya que ví que muchos decían que era muy buena, la Vi por estos días ya que ví que saldría la 2da temporada, entonces decidí verla apenas para no tener que esperar demasiado tiempo. La verdad esque es una serie muy buena, me encanto, solo que si llore mares de lágrimas, espero que en la 2da temporada despierte Su-ho, porque sino, no se que haré 😭

Quem vai pagar minha terapia.

Acredito que realmente não tem jeito de terminar esse drama sem ter derramado algumas lágrimas, não da nem pra descrever o tanto que essa história é bonita, trágica e bem contada.
A caracterização dos personagens + a atuação dos próprios atores foi um dos pontos altos pra mim, nós vemos eles ali e conseguimos nos colocar na pele deles, mas isso não impede de sentirmos raiva e angústia pelo rumo das coisas, e ao meu ver esse é exatamente um dos critérios mais importantes em uma obra, é quantas emoções diferentes ela consegue invocar no telespectador, e Weak Hero faz isso sem dificuldade nenhuma, quero ainda chamar atenção especificamente pra atuação do nosso protagonista, a quantidade de emoções que o mesmo consegue passar só através dos olhos e da postura dele é ABSURDA, é o tipo de comportamento que dá gosto de ver em um personagem que é mais calado, mais fechado, assim ele nem precisa falar para sabermos o que esta passando na cabeça dele, nós simplesmente conseguimos SENTIR através da performance dele.
Enfim, eu bato palmas pros escritores, roteiristas, e pra direção de arte também, tem várias cenas visualmente lindas de se ver e que devem ser apreciadas da melhor forma possível, com certeza foi um dos dramas do ano na época em que foi lançado!

Didnt even put this on hold ?

OHH MY I just finished Weak Hero Class 1, and honestly? That show was something else. It’s intense, emotional, and way deeper than I thought it would be going in. Yeah, on the surface it’s about school violence and bullying, but underneath all of that, it’s really about trauma, identity, loneliness, and how people respond when they feel powerless. The writing and pacing were solid, and the characters all felt so raw and real. Definitely not your average school drama.

Now, this might be controversial, but I want to talk about Beom Seok — and just to be clear, this is my opinion only. I know most people hate him or see him as the villain, and I totally understand why. He betrayed people who were actually trying to protect him, and he let jealousy and insecurity take over. I’m not saying what he did was okay. But at the same time, I understood him — maybe more than I expected to.

He’s not just some evil, two-faced character. To me, Beom Seok was someone who was constantly overlooked and made to feel weak, even by those closest to him. That pressure builds up. He didn’t know how to process his emotions or how to handle finally having people in his life who cared. And when you’ve been alone for so long, that kind of closeness can feel uncomfortable , even scary. It’s like he wanted to be seen, but at the same time, didn’t feel like he deserved it.

Honestly? I kind of related to that. Not the extreme parts — not the violence or the whole paying someone to beat up another person situation, obviously .... but just that feeling of not knowing where you fit in, of being insecure, of pushing people away even when you need them. Watching Beom Seok made me feel a little seen, in a weird way. He acted out of pain, and the show didn’t sugarcoat that. It showed the ugly, complicated side of it. Plus he was being abused and then we clearly see he feels singled out (i know how that feels it SUCKS.) so i dont blame him. Others say they like Yeong gi but personally i hated her. Each to their own!

Characters like si eun and su ho were amazing too — si eun with his calm, intelligent way of handling things, and su ho bringing that loyal, protective energy. Their friendship was honestly beautiful. I loved how different they were but still cared for each other deeply!!!

The visuals were clean, the action scenes hit hard, and the emotional moments stuck with me. 9/10!

Entretenida, adictiva y reflexiva

Un drama que me llenó de interés por la historia y amor por los personajes principales, me gustó porque ví acción en todo momento, adolescentes intensos, amistad y rivalidad, momentos felices, momentos tristes y escenas frustrantes. Es como una montaña rusa de emociones.

Desde que empecé a verla no pude parar hasta terminar, tiene un ritmo bastante rápido y emocionante. Cada personaje principal muestra una historia, y me pareció muy interesante conocerla.
El personaje de Si-eun, inteligente, bastante genial que no fuera un chico sumiso como aparentaba, sino que se enfrentara con sus agresores, haciéndoles ver que no era débil. Su-ho, me pareció una ternura, y con una vida díficil, sin embargo, considero que era el más racional. Beom-seok, débil, complicado de entender, traumado, pero pudo haber tomado mejores decisiones.

Esta historia te enseña sobre los verdadera amistad, sobre cómo la ira y la violencia cuando se desatan es más difícil detenerlas, te enseña sobre las consecuencias catastróficas que pueden surgir si tomas el camino de las peleas, y además sobre como al no tener una figura paterna presente o una crianza adecuada, puede convertirse para la persona en un camino sin rumbo ni orientación, que lo lleve a cometer errores irremediables.

Los puntos que considero negativos fueron, el hecho de que no estuviesen presente padres, maestros o figuras de autoridad controlando a sus hijos cuando se ponían en peligro. Tampoco estuve del todo de acuerdo que el personaje de Si-eun casi siempre (me atrevo a decir), usaba algún tipo de arma más allá de sus puños, lo cual le daba cierta ventaja, y era más propenso a herir de gravedad a otros (y lo hizo), incluso una vez que desató su ira, tenía serios problemas para controlarla, eso es peligroso sinceramente, creo que debía ir a tomar ayuda profesional.

Pero en definitiva, es una historia bastante emocionante (sin buscarle tanto la lógica de adolescentes peleando como gánsters) verlo como una manera de pasar el rato, engancharse con algo, y aprender de las reflexiones que deja (que considero son importantes), incluso de sentir ternura con los momentos de amistad de los personajes (siento que es de las cosas bonitas de la historia) y empatía con sus historias.

short series with so much going on!

Everyone raved about we hero the series and I’ve never picked it up.. now I’m wondering why I never picked it up!!

It was a very short series of only eight episodes but I’d say all episodes were on average and 8-8.5 they were all really good and what I liked as they all left on a cliffhanger that pulled into the next episode.

Si Eun (Park Ji Hoon) What an actor the way the emotions were played through the facial expressions rather than the full body was incredible!! You looked in his eyes and you knew how he felt. His lips always looked really dry I don’t know if that’s part of the character or not? haha

Sun Ho (Choi Hyun Wook) I actually nearly cried at the end. I knew what happened because I’ve seen spoilers and season two trailer trailers et cetera but still it was emotional at the end because in my opinion he didn’t really do anything wrong?? I really did love the acting in the character itself.

Beom Seok (Hong Kyung) Okay? Why do I feel like this actor needs to do voice overs as well?! Such a low vocal it took me by surprise, especially when paired with this character! This actor definitely needs to do voice overs!! Overall the actor they’re acting was great, but I didn’t like the character… obviously I mean what was his issue and to attach onto him all because of her Instagram not follow??

It was so strange and then to feel guilty at the end it was kind of like you’ve had ample opportunity to calm down when Si Eun got beaten up and he asked you to stop you could’ve stopped then but you decided to keep going where’s this guilt coming from?? And then just to be shipped off to the Philippines??? so he got away with it?? so is he gonna become a bad guy for the rest of his life because he’s got a way with basically murdering someone?!

U Yeong (Cha Woo Min) playing an UFC Fighter it was nice to see this actor. Do something different. I’ve seen them in a more relaxed role before I definitely look forward to more of their work!

Jin Won (Jo Han Chul) I have never never ever seen this actor play a villain I was so shocked he played it really well but I was waiting for the flowery friendly guy to come out and he just didn’t want evil character pure evil. Why adopt a kid in the first place and no one’s gonna get him for it he’s gonna get no retribution?!

The soundtrack is also very addicting and it will now be listening to it for a very long time!

For me, the plot, I really liked it, but it was very over the top for a high school?? so they all just get away with it?? And none of them go to college? They fall back a year? Or were they not going to college yet? That’s why I couldn’t get? Overall, it was very addicting to watch very easy to watch being such a small series and I look forward to watching season two and finding out what the hell happens next!

Que empolgação foi essa, até agora eu tô é agitado.

Essa série é tão intensa e violenta que me deixou completamente agitado. A forma como retrata o bullying é impactante, mostrando que, quando tentamos revidar, os problemas parecem se multiplicar. É triste ver essa situação, pois essas pessoas nos forçam a mudar nossa personalidade. Além disso, é doloroso testemunhar a traição de amigos em quem confiamos e perceber como tudo só piora. O protagonista queria apenas estudar em paz, sem incomodar ninguém, mas sua tranquilidade foi destruída por aqueles que insistiram em atormentá-lo. Agora, ele entrou em um caminho sem volta. Se houver uma segunda temporada, com a adição de gangues à trama, promete ser ainda mais intensa e explosiva!

PARK JIHOON O ATOR QUE VOCÊ É

Eu tô tão feliz por FINALMENTE ter dado uma chance pra esse KDrama! JURO! Que história incrível com atores tão incríveis quanto! Acho que relutei bastante porque sabia que envolvia bullying pesado (muitas agressões físicas e isso me deixa ansiosa), mas vi que a segunda temporada saiu e resolvi tentar. Inicialmente, eu planejei assistir somente 2 episódios, mas quando vi, acabei assistindo 6 numa sentada! É absurdamente bom. O enredo, os personagens, o desenvolvimento... Tudo te prende, e no final você deseja que tenha mais. Felizmente, comecei a assistir já com a segunda temporada me esperando. Enfim, se tornou um dos meus doramas favoritos e da minha mãe também kkkkk

I was reluctant

Because I knew there was a lot of violence. Then I saw that season 2 came up and I decided to watch this first one. It went fast in a marathon. I would skip or fast forward some fighting scenes as I'm a bit fed with that from western series.
The main attraction is the characters, their development, their changes and their loyalty. It is a mix of many emotions, frustrations and a lot of gaps in those kids lives.

Suho steals the show. What a character, probably the most outstanding in many ways. Ji Hoon was not a memorable actor from previous dramas but here he captivated me. What a way to express so much in his eyes. And the traitor friend, sure did a good job as well, as you really end up despising him.

With this intro, I'm ready to jump to second part. It doesn't ceases to be worrisome the amount of violence these series reflect from real life.

I like how the webtoon was adapted in this Show a lot it's one of a kind believe me.
This Drama was Just WoW like it will stay with you for a long time.
and the Actor's y'all they did SUCH a fantastic job I love it.
every episode was a experience that I loved.
