Peak Comedy
this is probably the most ORIGINAL PLOT for a kdrama to exist in KDRAMALAND like come on she literally turns into a chicken nugget , I went into this with zero expectations , the cast is what drew me in to begin withand it's safe to say that I don't regret it one bit , I'd never laugh as hard I did when watching a drama , like it's the driest jokes and scenes ever but somehow it's what makes this drama so hilarious ???
the casting is really well done and thought out, everyone did amazing and DELIVERED.....
so if you love comedies you will definitely not regret watching this drama I can guarantee it

A webtoon made into a drama, literally
When I first heard of the premise I was so confused but intrigued. A girl turning into a chicken nugget is such a weird plot but that's the reason why I decided to check out the drama when it came out. At first it started off so weird I was about to drop the drama, but I decided to give it a chance and it's one of the best decisions I've made. I'm so used to all the melodramas and intense stories from kdrama these days that I expected the same but boy was I wrong. This is whole ass gag drama, 90% comedy. If you're an avid webtoon reader, try to imagine you're favourite gag webtoon, I'm not talking about comedy, I'm talking about full gag like whacky content. Now imagine that, in a kdrama. That's exactly what Chicken Nugget is. Get ready cause my review is going to be long (without spoilers). Just to note, there are 10 episodes but each episode is less than 40mins so if you're a avid kdrama watcher, this is about 5 episodes of your regular drama ?Acting:
Star studded cast. If you've watched kdramas then you know exactly how insanely talented the cast is. They got big names in this show as well. It's so well acted that I forgot that they were actors for a moment cause I was too absorbed into their characters. Geniunely, acting is a solid 10/10
Story:
It was hilarious. Starts of strange and confusing but as you continue watching it just becomes funny. Like I had to pause and replay some scenes cause I was cackling with laughter. It's not your standard kdrama comedy where a good looking guy makes some smart jokes. Nope. Be prepared to see weird ass comedy, creative lines, and unpredictable storyline comedy. It's not all hilarious though, at times it gets serious and I even got emotional (very reminiscent of webtoons).
Music:
Most of the music is from a character in the show. I won't spoil much but the lyrics are kind of funny but I'm not someone who's super into music when I watch dramas so I don't have much to say
Rewatch value:
I 100% would rewatch it when I'm bored. I tend to re-read gag webtoons often when I'm bored just to laugh and this drama is a literal moving version of a webtoon so I definitely will rewatch it every now and then .
Overall:
If you're debating on watching the drama, I highly suggest watching it. You can stagger when you want to watch each episode since the content of the story isn't that heavy to the point where cliffhangers makes you feel like jumping. I promise this drama will give you a good laugh

While You Are Still on the Earth, Watch a Chicken Nugget Gone Interstellar
The decision to release this drama on Friday is smart because, with only 10 episodes 32 minutes each (5 hours and 20 minutes total), you have a unique and unpredictable comedy fantasy to binge on weekends, or anytime when you just want to unwind without having to involve your brain and emotion but just laughing. The mystery and fantasy plot in this short drama is just bizarre and imaginative with a sci-fi touch.Other than that, the comedic acting is just top-notch, specifically by the two leading actors Ryu Seung Ryong (as the dad and the owner of the company) and Ahn Jae Hong (his subordinate). I thought Ryu Seung Ryong mostly acted in serious dramas/movies, while Ahn Jae Hong more in dark comedies. I couldn't imagine they're so matched as clown duos and be serious during the filming. Unfortunately, Kim You Jung is more a supporting role, because most of the time her character is the chicken nugget, lol!
Speaking about the chicken nugget, this is when the title it's gone interstellar is. I won't spoil you, but the sci-fi part is just hilarious. We got to see aliens, as long as they're not banned coming into the earth IRL, lol. There are also social messages delivered in light ways.
Because it's comedy, the visuals are also not to be taken seriously: bad wigs, eccentric costumes, etc.
Just watch it. Don't worry about the rating. Because this is not a cookie-cutter drama, for some people that are so used to cliches and tropes, this drama seems ridiculous.

JUST ENJOY IT!
You don't have to put so much emphasis on logic while watching this drama..there ain't no logic behind a girl turning into a chicken nugget is there? The drama was exactly what it intended to be a strange wierd fun and hallarious watch...many events in the drama had me questioning why I was even watching the drama in the first place but it was that entertaining and I found my self binging all the episodes in one sitting.
The episodes are short so it feels less draggy and since it's fun you don't realise when it ends.
The acting was so good and I loved how the characters were naturally funny so the comedy didnt feel forced or dry....I found my self laughing out loud due the strange situations they got them selves in.
The cameos were also suprisingly good.
We need dramas like these from time to time, a drama which you don't have to spend alot of time applying thinking too but rather just sitting back and having a fun and humourous ride.
Do I recommend this? YES if you want to have fun and just laugh out loud...it was a good comedy series.

PURE WASTE OF TIME
Good actors playing a complete nonsense. I don't know how I could stay 5 hours in front of the TV whatching it.I had hope it could get better in the end, pure ilusion... The cast is great but the story is lame. I don't get the story, just don't understand the story. My curiosity made me finished all the 10 episodes, I wanted to see if his daughter will back to human being from a chicken nugget.
Five hours for nothing.
Sorry but it couldn't be worst !!!...

A Bizarre Blend of Sci-Fi and Over-the-Top Drama
Chicken Nugget is a drama that left me with mixed feelings, and frankly, I'm still trying to figure out why I ended up watching it. The show is an odd mix of craziness, absurdity, and downright weirdness that somehow manages to distinguish itself from anything I've watched before. The acting throughout the drama felt a bit over the top for my taste, which sometimes detracted from the overall experience rather than adding to it.However, it's worth noting that this brings something different to the table with its science fiction storyline. In a sea of dramas that often stick to conventional themes and narratives, this show dares to be bold and unconventional, for which it deserves some credit. Despite my reservations about certain aspects of the drama, its uniqueness and willingness to explore uncharted territories in storytelling were refreshing. If you're in the mood for something that breaks away from the norm and aren't put off by a little eccentricity, this drama might just be worth your time.

My curiosity made me finished it.
At first I was excited when i saw ist trailer it was funny. But once I watched it, it made me think what the hell I am watching? Its weird and I don't get it. Yes its funny the comedic scene really made me laugh. The cast is great but the story is lame. I don't get the story, just don't understand the story. My curiosity made me finished all the 10 episodes, if his daughter will back to human being from chicken nugget. They faced the weird and funny ways to bring back her daughter it made me more confused if she bring back his daughter. But the ugly truth is he never saw his daughter back even in how many years and even until he dies so sad ?.They just waste a big actors for a gimpy stpry that I don't understand. There are funny parts and there are also boring parts. Good thing it is a short drama ?.

unique af- it's a hit or miss, but i LOVED IT
THIS WAS SO BIZARRE LMFAOOO but i actually couldn't stop watching??? literally binged the whole thing in one go and i don't regret it at allsuper bizarre story which makes it VERY unique- like, this is actually like no other kdrama out there. you will NOT get bored nor be able to predict most of it?? some parts are strange(not necessarily in a bad way), some are extremely funny with me laughing out loud and some parts actually made me pretty emotional and a bit teary eyed??? managed to break my heart from the emotions AND my ribs w some of those jokes?
idk how they managed to do all that with an extremely bizarre storyline in 10 very short episodes, but whatever that was, i want more. it may not be for everyone, but it was definitely for me(and might be for you too if you have an open mind and like new and experimental things!). honestly, hope the writers/producers of this show come up w more of these short bizarre kdramas. if they're anything like this one, I'd eat it up every time.

Masterpiece
It's rare to come across such a brilliant piece of entertainment these days so I am delighted to inform people that "Chicken Nugget" is perhaps the kdrama of the decade. You may be asking "Why is the series so good?", please see below. All you need to know is that someone reacts with the correct mixture of fear and disgust to the war-crime of putting pineapple on pizza. This alone makes this series worthy of a perfect 10/10.

Not bad enough!
This show is what theater kids rehab looks like. And you know, I'm not complaining. They had good time, I had good time. We're even.Chicken Nugget doesn't necessarily shoot for the moon, nor does it classify as absurdism - more like fooling around. You could ask the producers why did they make this drama, and they would most probably answer "Because we wanted to and we could", and this would be completely fair. But for me personally, Ryu Seung Ryong's affiliation with fried chicken will never go away after this.
But why? Still, why? The conflicts in the plot were very forced, like the most idiotic scene of the fight with aliens. Aliens also had no reason popping up in Joseon. And why, at all, was this long story about Kim Yoo Jeong being a chicken nugget told? The last episode basically pushed the red button and erased all the remaining significance of the drama. It's telling you almost straight out that you wasted 5 hours of your life for nothing. "Thank you, dear viewers, you may go home now."
The chicken intro though is such a killer ?

A Nugget of Laughter: Unpacking ‘Chicken Nugget ??
I found “Chicken Nugget” to be a delightful Korean drama with a comedic twist that sets it apart from the usual fare. The series, which is based on a webtoon, tells the story of a woman who turns into a chicken nugget, sparking a humorous and heartwarming adventure as her father and a colleague try to reverse the transformation. I appreciated the show’s clever humor and the way it plays with the absurdity of the situation. The performances, especially the special appearances, added to the charm of the series. With its short episodes, “Chicken Nugget” is perfect for those looking for a quick, entertaining watch that combines mystery and comedy with touching moments. It’s a refreshing pick for any Kdrama enthusiast.“Chicken Nugget” might be a refreshing addition to your watchlist, offering a blend of mystery, comedy, and heartwarming moments2. Enjoy the show! ??

A time pass drama
This was an unexpected watch for me.I never intended to start this drama because I found it ridiculous. But after some time, the same thing attracted me to watch this one.Suprisingly , the humour really worked for me.Plot is not really strong. The ending was a big wtf moment. But omg the acting ! Ryu Seung Ryong is Korea's best dad.Moving, miracle in cell no.11 and this one.He literally made me emotional over a chicken nugget.I enjoyed the first half more than the second half. This drama was a mixed bag.Was this review helpful to you?
