Kiss your future

"Was it bound to happen or did I make it happen?"

Likes
1. Loved Minhu, he was a jerk in episode 1 but he kept getting awesome in every episode! Kyesang isnt your traditional pretty boy ML but he is very manly esp with the kissing and bed scenes with Yesool. But he can also be cute and silly.
2. Mixed feelings with Yesool. Love her when she's in love but i hate that she kept running away whenever Minhu and Pilyo tried to confront her.
3. Jisuk can make viewers want the SML be the ML. He's so good at portraying the boyfriend or ex bf. I was fine whether Yesool ended up with him or Minhu. Just too bad that the relationship ended the way it was.
4. I didn't like whiny clingy Jiyoung but she was better when she is with Pilyo so I'm okay with this pairing.
5. The second couple Seungtaek and Howoo were so cute but didnt like that Howoo was too cold to Seungtaek when she started her residency. Inho the actor usually plays the bad guy in the drama so nice to see him being funny and cute here.

Dislikes
1. The last 20 mins of the final episode! WTH was that!!! They could have added more scenes between Seungtak and Howoo if they ran out of stories to fill the rest of the episode!
2. Yesool's mother who kept the whole dad's murder/stalker from Yesool was horrible thing to do.

Rating: 8.5/10

Ok i loved this inspite of hating it

This is a rant. I love clique dramas. I'm a sucker for a good trope with some romance thrown in. This had all the makings of cheesy TV with some good acting thrown in to keep you watching.

With that said the FL character was so annoying. I kept watching in spite of her. If there was a logical choice she always made the opposite one. Even after she experiences her personality change she still makes dumb decisions.

The ending was nonsensical and the last 3 episodes should have been 5 or 6 to keep the same pace as the rest of the drama.

I wrote this review because i didn't see any others where anyone else admitted they hated parts of the FL character.

All that said i watched the whole thing. I enjoyed lots of it. Would I watch it again no. You only need to watch a train wreck once. With that said hit play and enjoy. (If you liked Abyss you'll like this. Honestly review could be for either drama.)

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama " Kiss Sixth Sense " is a office romantic comedy with a fantasy twist.

The drama utilizes the trope of the strict boss-bright and sunny employee to its fullest, in addition to giving them a common background with their fantasy subplot that connected them together from the begining. That fantasy element was also what gave the romance a head start, though that was awkwardly handled. The love story, overall, was messily paced and used a lot of cheese tropes to support it, even having a love triangle to spice things up. However, the second lead had more chemistry with the female second lead and they seemed better as a couple. As for the fantasy part, it was thrilling at first, but got boring and overused after a while.

Finally, the performances were enjoyable from everyone in the cast.

So, overall, three out of ten.

Kiss Sixth Sense (2022) – I was disappointed. I’m not a fan. It was so long before I finished watching this drama. This drama is supposed to be my type with mature characters and pretty decent storyline. I love the actors and actress portraying the roles in the drama but I don't see the chemistry between them and also the second lead. I think the reason why I wasn't into this drama is because I have read the manhwa and I already had expectations but it was not met. I do not recommend this drama.

If 'While You Were Sleeping' and 'Monthly Magazine Home' had a baby

Hong Ye Sool (Seo Ji Hye) can see the future when she kisses someone. It does not matter if her lips accidentally touches someone's hair, finger, etc., she will still "see" a glimpse of the future. During her company's outdoor project shoot, Ye Sool kissed Min Hoo (Yoon Kye Sang) because of some clumsy mistake.

Kiss Sixth Sense started out as this typical office romance. It's light and cute.... However, Ye Sool started to annoy me as the story progressed. She believes on the accuracy of her visions as if everything she sees will eventually happen.

Then, her ex-boyfriend Lee Pil Yo wanted to reconcile with her even though he was clearly the aggrieved party. You see, back then, Ye Sool left Pil Yo because she saw him "cheating." Pil Yo denied this, and he assured Ye Sool of his love.

However, Ye Sool trusts her visions more than this guy that she has been seeing for years. My goodness, she has severe trust issues! She reasoned out that she saw him "having another woman's baby." *facepalm* So, she just left Pil Yo without any explanation. She just walked out of his life like their relationship did not even matter.

I get that Min Hoo (Yoon Kye Sang) is the main lead in this story, but Pil Yo is not even a bad guy! In fact, Pil Yo deserved a better treatment from Ye Sool. It feels like Pil Yo is getting punished instead of being consoled. She should be apologetic of her mistakes, but she did not.

I feel really bad for the second male lead, Pil Yo, because he seems to be a genuinely nice guy, and the female lead, Ye Sool, is the one who needs improvement. She destroys her relationships because she is too attached to the future she sees. Then, avoids it altogether.

Ye Sool needs to stop running away every time she sees a terrible future. Unfortunately, Pil Yo became a collateral damage because of this behavior of hers. The female lead should fix herself first. Change should start from within! SADLY, SHE IS THE PROBLEMATIC AND TOXIC CHARACTER IN THE STORY!

The last straw for me was Pil Yo got punished for something that did not happen yet. Plus, in Episode 8, there was a scene that disproved Ye Sool's claims of him cheating. For Pete's sake, Pil Yo was just carrying the baby. The baby daddy is another man! See, it really speaks volumes for me. Just because she "saw" something doesn't mean that it is 100% the TRUTH. Ye Sool should stop taking her visions too seriously and start living in the moment.

A good romance drama tripped up by its own tail

Putting aside the supernatural aspect of the meet-cute of this drama, the core premise of the office romance plot is tropey but nicely executed. The “abilities” of the leads are icing on the cake. The leads are well matched to their roles. Their visuals, acting and chemistry are very good. The romance is cute and passionate in equal parts and comes with nice amount of skinship.

Let's be honest, the business and SF/ML subplot is meh. If they have focused completely on our OTP, it would have been even better. Alas, just when the show hits its stride and delivered us unto swoon heaven, the writer-nim went rouge.

It is true that the show always has a darker side, it won't be a k-drama otherwise. ;) It was hinted at many times and some traumatic event in the past was the likely trigger for their special abilities. For the longest time, it was low level stuff with just a hint of danger which is used to draw our CP closer together and move the plot along. Then it got dark, so very dark.

The Show decided that the only way to give closure to our CP is to retell their initial meeting and fateful parting 23 years ago. It is not unexpected, but it took a long time and a good part of that was already known or postulated. What is more problematic is that this segment contained more plot holes than the whole show up to that point. There is a fair bit of inconsistency judging from what was shown before and shown later. Even some dialogues between the actors are contradictory. I could have listed a page of them but I want to keep this relatively spoiler free. ;)

Adding to the problem is the way the Show portrayed the police. Their incompetence reached new heights in this show. It was baffling how the antagonist wasn’t caught in the first place and then managed to “hide” in plain sight for years. Again and again, the police are spoon fed relevant information but did very little which compounded the muddled narrative of the antagonist.

While the long recap is problematic, it was not the final nail. That honour goes to the last 20 minutes of the show. Did the production team review the script at all? It was a metaphoric train wreak that came out of nowhere. After we sat through the (literally) dark and gloomy recap and thought that we are back on track for some sweet CP moments, the Show went hyper! Yes, it was sort of funny for a moment but then it just escalated and escalated until I started to wince. So much bickering and shouting and for what?.

We also have closures of two side romantic subplots in the dying minutes. These were literally parachuted in with no warning or fanfare. Both romances were pushed aside by the evil plot and their conclusions felt contrived and rushed.

In the end, the show would have been better if it sticks to its core romance theme. Even though most of the subplots are weak and the support casts underutilised, they are harmless. Having said that, the Love Passionately for 7 days subplot is cute even though it did reminded me of Lovestruck in the City. ;)

The messy tail end was self inflicted and took a lot of the shine off a good romance. It is a real shame as the leads are well matched and the Show was on course for a satisfying finish. It is even more poignant when I recently read an interview of the ML where he said that he was so happy to be offered this script as he doesn’t have many opportunities to play a romantic lead at his age. Ouch!

OST is good and I’d have no problem re-watching the lead’s courting and romantic scene. Where is that YT cut?

Wasted potential

The main premise was good, that she was able to see the future. There is so much more that could have been done with that, for instance, trying to find out how she developed her 'power', trying to 'solve' the power, or more interestingly, trying to prevent an undesirable future from happening. However, the actual execution was a total disaster. There are way too many Kdrama tropes and plot holes to count.

The first few episodes were so boring that I nearly gave up. However, after they got together, it was fun for a few episodes as it was funny and sweet as a rom com. The last 2 episodes were a disaster. Why did they suddenly need to insert a mystery? Surely they should have put far more clues and plot points in earlier episodes to suggest some mystery? It's as if the writers changed halfway or they suddenly wanted to improve their ratings.

The whole drama was Schizophrenic at best - romance, comedy, fantasy, mystery, and office drama. I'm only giving this an 8 because I enjoyed the middle episodes. Thank goodness this ended at 12 episodes. I would have given up at episode 4 if I wasn't a Disney Plus subscriber.

A strong start, A meh end!

I went in watching this show with zero expectations. I hadn't read the webtoon before so I was not as opposed or upset about the casting as I had seen people being, rather I thought the casting worked from the trailer and later on from how the drama played out.
The show itself had me hooked from the first episode, and I'd binge-watch both the episodes as soon as they would come out, putting aside anything else I was doing at that moment. The story despite having one or two plot holes (nothing major) was strong throughout until it came to the last 2 episodes, I felt not only was the ending rushed a little but the last 15 to 20 minutes of the 12th episode were just dumb (for a lack of a better word) and not needed to be honest. I would have much preferred if they would have used that time to work on fixing the pacing of the ending and have it not be rushed as much. The main lead's personality changing completely, in the end, was also annoying, especially the male lead's personality!

Keeping aside these issues, the OST and main cast's acting was the highlight of the drama for me, and overall it has been quite a fun watch!

Believe it or not
I really liked mature romance and adult love
This was ok Until their abilities disappeared

The story was fine till The first half of ep 12
It turned to be pure childish love

The way they were quarrelling with was extremely Annoying
They always threatening each other
Yelling and shouting while speaking

They even turned to be enemies in their attitude
Which was weird
Each couple had their own problems and differences,
but not with this annoying way
Always Saying: let's apart like adolescents
But much worse

I loved the second couple but they didn't have many scenes through the second half of the drama

They tried to put suspense during the drama
But something wasn't good
And I saw the chemistry between the main leads was lukewarm

Something was missing but I couldn't figure it out where the problem was ??

Started strong then downhill from there

I was looking forward to this series because I’m a fan of the ML and FL. I liked it fine for the first few episodes but then I began to lose interest and strongly considered stopping mid-way. I wish I would have now that I made it to the end. Their “abilities” wore thin and I really disliked everything about the final episode. I guess we were suppose to understand why they were behaving so badly around coworkers and toward each other but it was just cringe worthy to watch. Looking back on it, I really don’t understand why the actors chose to participate in this drama.

Have been a huge fan of the webtoon. I was a bit reluctant at first because of many reasons(Don't want to get disappointed, the cast, my mood, don't wanna suffer waiting for new episodes, etc). But after having watched the two episodes I changed my mind. I was a bit surprised at first because I don't usually like dramas adapted from novels/books/webtoons since they usually disappoint me. However, I'd say this drama is worth it. I will watch it till the end 'cause the plot is great(the supernatural part of the plot is new and interesting to see in a drama ), the cast seemed experienced and I did like the ost too and am a huge fan of the story. Don't let this gem go to waste.
