Six stories- one great movie
I loved the plot! There are few chapters and in each of them there's a story where somebody ends up being killed. I loved the one with Choi Minho. How can he be such a lucky guy even in movies lol His story is gripping but the ending is terrifying as well as funny (black humour vibe). How come this movie is so funny but also frightening at the same time?-huge spoiler-
If you want to see a 'falling angel' who almost killed Minho and Pyo having the time of his life as peeping Tom breaking into a girl's flat and wearing her underwear on his head, you should watch it!
Such a great thriller with lots of black humour (and not only). Worth watching!

I don't know why this drama has less rating !!!
This underrated gem deserves more attention! While some criticise its subtle storytelling, it's a must-watch for fans of dark humour and horrific dramas. The connections between stories are nuanced, making it a rewarding experience for those who appreciate complexity and the blend of horror and wit.Actually not that complex, but very dark. MUST WATCH. YOU'LL NOT REGRET IT, IF YOU GO INTO IT EXPECTING NOTHING.

People are better than this
Let me start by saying that this is a horror movie without you realizing that it is a horror. It looks realistic and familiar with characters you meet in your daily life but with a twist that somehow always take the turn for the worst. So i understand the title "New normal" because this are the normal people in "new" shocking situations. The movie represents the new normal as if this is the new reality we live in but I strongly believe that humans in real world are much better then those in this movie. Now what i liked and what i didn't like. I liked the actors, the music, the atmosphere, the production and the pace of the story. Everything was nicely done. I am not a fan of short stories because they mostly end up superficial, shallow and over simplistic, but in this movie they were purposely connected by presenting a nihilistic society.
And that is what i didn't like. My heart is not agreeing with the message of this movie. I believe in Jesus who died on the cross out of love to save the world which is opposite to the one small but important detail in the movie (a minor spoiler ahead!!!), and that is a fluorescent lamp in the shape of a cross with an inscription “F*** the World” that one of the main protagonists has on the wall. The movie suggest that you should trust the people and that the world is damned but i believe in good people and in salvation.

Suspensful But too "Hip" for its Own Good
I was curious about this movie because of singer Jeong Dong Won's acting appearance. I thought he did quite well and they caught him just at the right age. One year later he'd look to old to be so naive. ** SPOILERS AHEAD ** "New Normal" is full of suspese and black humor. I'm not big fan of horror movies because most of them are too gruesome or play fast and loose with supernatural themes. These 6 chapters are supposed to have a linked payoff but it must be too subtle for me to get it. I think it has something to do with human organ harvesting. During the premier, Jeong Dong Won publically questioned the director about the conclusion to his chapter and the director seemed to agree it was too enigatic. Really the same could be said about all of the episodes and it's too bad because this movie could rate a "10" if the conclusion connected all the dots like the famous ending of "Citizen Kane" with the Rosebut sled device. Well, I'm glad I was able to see it but it will be quickly forgotten. Thanks for the other commenters who pointed me to HiTV to see it.Was this review helpful to you?
A Quietly Disturbing Look at Modern Life
New Normal is an interesting, if somewhat uneven, film that follows the lives of six different people, with each story unfolding through chapter-style storytelling. This structure works well because it gradually offers insight into each character’s life while emphasizing how disconnected people can be from one another, even while living side by side in the same world. One of the film’s strongest aspects is its cinematography and overall presentation. The way the movie is shot reinforces its central theme: everyone appears to be living ordinary, routine lives on the surface, yet there are darker and more complicated events happening beyond what others can see. That sense of hidden reality creates an unsettling atmosphere throughout the film.
The ending, however, is where the movie becomes more divisive. It takes a very nuanced and ambiguous approach, which makes the story feel intentionally unresolved. While the final revelations and the group chat sequence provide enough context to understand why certain individuals were being targeted, the film leaves many questions unanswered. Not seeing the aftermath or consequences of those events may frustrate some viewers, especially since no one is truly held accountable and life seemingly continues as normal.
At the same time, that unresolved feeling appears to be deliberate. New Normal leans heavily into the idea that real life rarely provides complete closure or easy answers. People move on, mysteries remain unsolved, and the world continues regardless. Whether that approach feels thought-provoking or unsatisfying will likely depend on the viewer.
Overall, I neither loved nor disliked the film. It presents some compelling ideas and creates an effective atmosphere, even if its storytelling choices do not always fully land. One thing that stood out, intentionally or not, was the soundtrack, which often felt strangely placed and unexpectedly comedic at times.
