Exciting and sweet

This drama is so exciting, I can't stand it anymore, always these breaks in between, 5 days off, you should really binge watch it. I'm so curious......

I find so many suspicious there (the mother, she never shows, that she loves her son and does everything for her politician career / the CEO and his brother / the brother of
the ex-girlfriend who is aggressive and violent)

But I really like how great the FL + ML are. The act with each other so honestly. This is so different from all these other K-Dramas where one misunderstanding follows the next.

I loved ‘My Lovely Liar’.

Hwang Min-hyun (Minhyun) singer/songwriter of the K-pop group NU’EST and actor from the big hit Korean Drama ‘Alchemy of Souls’ (which followed Live On) is putting out only his third drama. The early buzz is that this drama will make him a household name. It is fortunate that he gets the main lead with the little star maker, Kim So Hyun (Love Alarm). She is a former Korean child star, who can do little wrong in picking good Korean dramas and making her costars shine. ‘My Lovey Liar’ got off to a slow start, because this star power rich Korean drama needs a lot of set-up time. However, the chemistry between the two leads took off all of a sudden by the end of episode 2, heating up the place. I loved My Lovely Liar and I viewed this drama real-time.

The drama is quaint and engaging. It is about a young lady who can hear lies and she has turned this into a profitable business. Her love interest is a music genius with a mysterious and dark past. There are a few surprises in the story, which takes the action in surprising directions. Give this one a try.

My Lovely Liar

Sol Hee was the female lead who heard lies and came across Do Ha who does not lie. Sol Hee never became whiny or annoying. I loved her interactions with all the cast. Her friendship with the tarot reader & her bodyguard was so sweet & funny. I even loved when she had scenes with the second male lead who was such a cutie. I will admit they would have been great together, but I was firmly on the male lead side. I love how the SL never became hateful or obsessive instead he applied the concept of "if you love her, let her go" to his situation. I really hope I see more of the actor. As for Do Ha, I felt so sorry that he was a victim of so many people being so obsessed with him... all he did was be kind, caring & handsome while minding his business.

Of course, I picked this drama up for Minhyun because that is my WannaOne/NU'EST guy & I definitely inhaled My Lovely Liar. It was super easy to binge. The unique plot caught my attention right from the beginning. So, add the unexpectedly amazing chemistry of the leads, humor, great supporting cast friends, and OST with the twists and it is a great overall drama. Also, I did not feel as though I was left hanging by the ending because the ending was so complete and satisfactory!

Minhyun reminds me so much of Eunwoo with his looks. He gave me my much-needed Eunwoo fix, but he & Kim So Hyun were so great together.

Definitely recommend 8.5/10

The same recipe repeated all over again this time with a human lie detector.

Ok so this is my first time writing a review even though I have watched at least 80+ kdramas. But because I have so much experience in watching I thought I should write this review.
So let's start.
1.Acting- I have seen the fl leads work before but at that time she was a teenager so I can't say if she has improved or not but this role was good I liked that she wasn't all cutesy not that I have a problem with those characters but it was fresh seeing a more mature lead . The ml I have never seen him act and it's safe to say I don't want to again.
2. Story- it's just same like nothing new and oh god that plot twist I saw it coming from miles ahead. It's just they added something new with someone who could detect lies.
3.Characters- Are awful like god those mothers and no that's not how mothers are it's just that most kdrama now gives you mommy issues. And these characters don't know what consent is like the fl takes the mask off the ml. The salad cafe lady just barges into the shop even though it's prohibited and don't even get me started on the ex gf like she was fucking obsessed and I was glad that was the reason ml decided to break up and what's wrong with that brother when your sister needed support you tell her to just make a guy her dream and then she becomes this obsessed dies and then you go out to hunt a suspect. GREAT.
4. Music- I honestly got so bored with the story that I mostly skipped it.
5. Chemistry- wasn't Chemistrying like I couldn't feel anything out of them no romance nothing even there kisses I skipped.
6. Overall- don't waste your time it's not enough romance not enough mystery and they literally just always have to make bi/gay characters the villian if you want to watch something a little bit better but the same formula go watch crash course in romance.
Atleast they have better chemistry.
Or give it a try if you like to waste your time just because the title sounded good.

This drama is a cute drama for me overall. At first it has the romantic comedy genre, but with the hint of suspense thriller into it. I like thriller dramas and I like romantic comedy as well but I think this drama is a decent one. I am not into it as much as I would want, maybe because I watched this one ongoing with other big dramas like Moving that the impact of this drama seems lesser.

The actors in the drama are also familiar faces. I have seen them in other dramas, and they are good here, not the best acting but I like it. It's a fine drama with somehow a cliche ending. I would still recommend this one.

Worth a watch.

Overall enjoyable. Cute rom-com with bit of humour, some mystery and some fantasy. A must watch. One of the very few dramas I watched this year. There are times, I felt bored too. But not a big problem.
Definitely a bang comeback of KimSoHyun. She is getting more and more adorable. Cutie bunny?❤️.
Although i have never thought this before, but in this drama HwangMinHyun resembled more like ChaEunWoo. Particularly with the mask on.
Perfect couple. Both are unrealistically beautiful. ??

SeoJiHoon. He and kimSoHyun looked good together. I want them as the leads in anther drama. Sorry LeeKangMin. In this drama, it's solhee and doha for me

But I think It could have been better if its 10 or 12 episodes. 16 episodes, felt draggy. I lost interest in later episodes and resumed only after all the episodes aired. So that I could skip some scenes finish it soon.

Like many, I am also surprised.
Expected JoDeukChan to be the culprit from the very start. But this twist is more shocking.
I wanted to hate him. But how could I hate him now.? He was in love.
he didn't plan to kill her from the start. I don't think he used him to get rich by keeping seungJu beside him, but it's the only way, Doha would stay by his side.

JoDeukChan tried to make seungJu and EomJi to breakup by creating misunderstandings.? Well there was any scenes to claim that it was true.
So many repetitive scenes of them drinking as a group only.
But i can't believe ChoiEomJi was toxic until the very end. Her brother fueled her obsession more and more. Although I felt bad for her
family background, that doesn't make her toxic behaviour justifiable. In the end, her fate, she brought it upon herself. JoDeukChan just went there to check up on seungJu. But she ridiculed his feelings for seungJu and Enjoyed it which actually triggered him.
But that also doesn't justify DeukChan too. He Should have surrendered regardless of anything. But He decided to hide it as if He wanted to be by his side by any means..! ? And that's why he hid the murder. I am sure he was also tormented as much as SeungJu. SeungJu clearly did not kill her and felt guilty thinking she killed herself because of him.
Totally different with deukchan. With or without intention, he killed her. And keeping the evidence of murdering someone beside you all the time. Feels more terrifying. ? Was there any single moment he felt happiness. Unrequited love, failed marriage, spoilt family member, a successful carrier which he is not sure of when it's all gonna end.
I feel very sad for JoDeukChan. Having Love for someone when it will be unrequited forever. ? He can't even confess his love to the person he likes in the first place. ?? Like, confess and if rejected, get over with it! ☹️
Syaon. Although i disliked her at first. But came to like her a but in last couple episodes.
Jo Jaechan is just spoilt brat.
I really hate SolHee's mother and SeungJu's mother. Both are toxic parents.! ??
And I absolutely hate that they made solHee's mother look innocent. She was going around Swindling people. She even did it to her daughter all the time. ??
I am really happy that finally doha's mother is ruined. She is too cunning and selfish.?

Solhee' father. It would have been better, if there is not a character of him in the first place. Like he died early or found another woman. Him ending up with MokSollHee' mother felt rubbish. ? The actor who played the father, I recently watched him in Miraculous Brothers and thought he got another good role again. But he should have rejected this one.
I thought 3 men liked the same girl at first and got entangled somehow. ?

Fluffy romance but thriller part was quite disappointing

The drama is a decent watch if you like fluffy romance. The ML and FL are cute and very complementary in their personalities. They meet again and start to learn about each other, trust each other and the dating stage drags to arrive but there is obviously something between them. SML is not too clingy, and he has his priorities. SFL is childish so no worries from this side. There are also 3 secondary romances that were not so interesting for me, but I believe that some others will enjoy them.

The thriller part is interesting and intriguing at first. Because there are little infos and the mystery has huge consequences on the ML. But when the truth starts to unveil, the victim gained little sympathy but more pity from me. The final twist is surprising because it follows an unexpected and unusual path for kdramas but it also looks cheap and lazy writing. To put all this on one sided feelings and accidents…

The drama suffered from the characterization of the ML. He was way to nice always saying sorry and full of good intentions… to the point he looked bland to me. He also had little good impact on the others and he barely contributed to the solving of the mystery. I loved the FL. She brought light and fun to the drama with a great personality dealing with ML, SML, clients, her parents, employees, rival… SML Is my fav ML. I liked how he dealt with his personal issue and how he did his job despite the uneasy situation. The culprit was also a complex and interesting character with good intentions and very bad actions.

Overall, it was ok but wish the ML was stronger or maybe it was the lead male actor. His acting was below par compared to the other lead actors and especially the SM lead actor. It showed. But I wish him the best like to the others. 7.5/10

This Drama: Good or Bad? All Based On Your Preference/Experience When Watching

I would say 80% of this drama revolves around ML's (Do Ha's) life, 15% is about our FL's (Sol Hee's) and the 5% is for other nonsense (examples: bad mom scenes, psycho bro scenes). I didn't have a problem with the story plot idea, it's more of how it was presented that caused issues for me when watching. Certain weeks, I'm okay with the flow of the episodes while there other weeks where I was like, "when will this plot progress or why did I felt like nothing significant happened?". I'll be honest here, our leads supporting each other got me through this drama because there are just way too many annoying characters in this drama. I can handle maybe 1 or 2 annoying characters but this one had a ridiculous amount.

Story wise, it would've been 2 stars for me, but I bumped it up to 3 out of 5 stars because of a great last week of episodes and everything was wrap up pretty well. Good plot ideas, but they just stalled it for too long on the mystery part. First 12 episodes were mostly ex-girlfriend's psycho brother searching for and wanting to kill Do Ha. Where was the search for the real killer during those episodes? It didn't even happen until psycho brother finally went to jail. I hated this writing because they just wasted a potential of this character. The brother could've been searching for clues on the truth instead of just plotting to get revenge on someone who was innocent. Heck, even have him believe Do Ha didn't murder his sister and they team up together to search for the truth with the help of Kang Min & Sol Hee. We finally get some progress for a week, followed by going back to Sol Hee's story. This just felt like a wasted potential for me, despite having a great ending.

Speaking of Sol Hee, I wished the writers would've made her powers more useful for the mystery of this drama. Instead, we just get random scenes of her using her powers for work related reasons. I mean this is okay because she does slowly learn about her usage of her powers, but I felt like this was a waste and it just felt out of place.

The only saving grace about this was that our leads were supportive of each other. Once they got together, they stuck through it together, helping each other out. I'm glad there were numerous cute scenes together for our leads because everything else was a mess.

Acting/Cast wise, I can see where some people have a problem with Min Hyun's acting. There are certain scenes where I felt like he could've been more expressive, but that doesn't mean he's a bad actor. He does have his strengths in other parts of his acting. Luckily for me, I'm not really critical on acting, just as long as they don't say their lines in monotone blank less expression. For this category though, I mostly rate it based on the characters in this drama and like I said, too many frustrating/annoying side characters. I'm glad their screen time were limited but boy when they showed up, I just get frustrated with them.

Music wise, I like it but for some reason didn't remember it being played as much. In fact because of this, I don't even remember much of the osts.

If I wanted to rewatch this again, it'll definitely be from when our leads get together and then just the good and cute moments. Otherwise, just a 1 time watch for me.

This is one of the dramas where you don't want to ask "how was this drama?". There are just so many opinions. I say just give it a try and see what you think. I gave you my perspective, but hey you might like it or you may not.

"If I say so, then it is."

As I reach the midway point of the drama, I can't help but find it absolutely ridiculous, but in the best way possible. It adeptly captures the essence of the genres it aims to portray, particularly excelling in the realms of romantic comedy and fantasy. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and their romantic moments are nothing short of heart-fluttering.

The drama fits seamlessly within the genres of Romantic Comedy, Fantasy, and Drama. The very first scene sets the tone as we're introduced to three men on the brink of being thrown off a building, they work for a gang and the boss suspects one of them has betrayed him. This tense situation takes an unexpected turn when Sol-hee, the "liar hunter," arrives on the scene. The writing brilliantly infuses humor even into these intense moments.

The initial meeting between the main leads further illustrates the drama's penchant for blending seriousness with humor. The female protagonist comes to the rescue as she intervenes in a scenario where the male lead is being attacked by his ex-girlfriend's brother on a bus. The juxtaposition of the serious situation and the writer's comedic touch makes for an amusing scene.

While some critics might nitpick about how characters bump into each other numerous times in quick succession, with each meeting proving more unlikely than the last, this drama is more rooted in fantasy and comedy, with moments of gravity interspersed. The story line offers numerous scenes that are utterly re watchable, packed with humor and charm.

To critics, I'd suggest embracing the drama for what it is rather than focusing on what it isn't trying to be. Beyond the romance, the story provides a fresh experience by highlighting Mok Sol Hee, a character with a unique ability. Flaws are present in most dramas, no matter how realistic the story is. But this drama isn't about intricate plot twists. Instead, it offers a straightforward yet engaging narrative that keeps viewers intrigued by Kim Do Ha's mysterious secret. The drama captures curiosity without relying on elaborate twists.

The drama's message is profound. Even though Mok Sol Hee appears to lead an uncomplicated life due to her special ability, true love has the power to challenge even extraordinary skills. Our obsession with truth and lies often hides the intentions of those who deceive. The core of the story is the growth of love through understanding and trust, even when emotions are hidden.

Up to this point, the drama has certainly delivered as a genuinely engaging experience. However, I reserve my judgment about whether it will achieve the status of a "great" drama until I see how the second half of the story unfolds, particularly in terms of the development between the two main leads.

A more comprehensive review will follow once I've completed the drama. Nonetheless, my current perspective remains positive. As I'm halfway through, I've even found myself re-watching episodes and relishing the memorable scenes that never seem to lose their appeal.

the great chemistry and acting will make you go for it !! Great drama

at first I didn't want to watch this drama at all because of the reviews I saw in the top... those should have been haters because from the first episode this drama captivates you and it's super catching, I haven't seen a drama like this for a long time and I really waited for a drama to be aired again in which you find a story, chemistry and personables are really amazing. I have not left a review on this page until now, but I felt it was worth it. I'm 26 years old and I was really captivated by this drama and I can't wait to see more episodes and how the story of the two will end

satisfying till the end

i started this show without much expectations, i was excited to see minhyun as the male lead to be honest! but this is one of the kdramas i enjoyed the most in the past few weeks. the plot is pretty good and well developed. the main couple is ADORABLE, super mature and they have such a healthy relationship! the other thing i absolutely loved is the fact that the show didn’t left us with unresolved questions, and once it ended everything was put to the right place.
definitely would recommend ?
