The main male character is really stupid, almost to the point of lacking in common sense. The main female character is actually just plain annoying and hard to watch. Storyline is full of cliche due to and the characters development are not enjoyable to watch. The music and acting were good overall, I think the actors portray their characters well but the writers for this story and characters are just plain bad.

I only managed to finish this because Yoo In Na was in it. I don't recommend it unless you're looking to stress yourself out with the main characters in this drama. Then again, I'm not blaming any of the actors here, they did a wonderful job, the writers for the characters and story is just not very good.

You Who Came from the Stars is a masterpiece, period.

At first, I wasn't interested at all because (not gonna lie) I wasn't interested in all that Sci-Fi crap, but I was bored and gave it a try and it was the best decision I've ever made - it occupied all the time I had!

The storyline is such an interesting one and it just keeps you going, wanting you to find out more every single episode. With that, it has definitely succeeded in making me feel all the emotions in different scenes. During the romantic scenes, it wasn't too cringy and cheesy like some k dramas I've watched, but just perfectly cute and filled with a perfect amount of romance. The comedy scenes were totally my style and I found myself laughing at them most of the time. And the sad scenes... ah the sad scenes; they. will. make. you. weep. So if you're looking for something that makes you feel almost too much (which is what dramas should do), this is perfect.

The characters are so well acted, this made me gain so much respect to Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun, they're both such amazing actors. Their characters have a definite personality with soft sides that show occasionally, which makes it even more interesting. Overall, I really love the cast and the characters; it goes perfectly well.

I think I can definitely say its one of the best k dramas I've ever watched and is surely on my rewatch list (imo).

I definitely liked "My Destiny" by Lyn which was the main song they used and it was just the perfect soundtrack to set the atmosphere. I could definitely feel the mood of never ending love and the emotion of never giving up on someone. They way they portrayed those emotions were breathtakingly beautiful and no I'm not exaggerating. Plus, the script is amazing and it had the power to make me cry no matter how many times I've replayed it.

So, if y'all are looking for something thats epic and just wonderfully beautiful, this is definitely worth watching.

Go give it a try ^^

Enjoyable and cheesy, a guilty pleasure of randomness

As you can guess by the title, our male lead is an alien who landed during the Joseon Dynasty period. Three months before his return to his star, he met and fell in love (?) with the biggest Hallyu actress in Korea.

I want to start off by saying that the set up is very well done, I get invested with the leads instantly with iconic personalities. I was very invested with the concept with this drama, being opposite attracts.

At first I wasn't sold on Jun Ji Hyun's character, I feel she's a bit overacting. But as the story goes on, I really settled in with her character and her acting is so charming that i don't even feel it's overacting anymore. She's just this really comical really kind of cheesy actress. She really disappears into this role and contribute to most of my enjoyment. I also enjoy Kim So Hyun's stoic character, even though he's not doing much. I love his forth wall breaking scene in the latter part of the story. However, the romance later on was lackluster, I dislike how he treated her and being ridiculously secretive towards her about his identity

Besides the leads, the suspense elements within the show actually really surprised me. I think there are many moments where I'm genuinely hate our main villain. Although I wasn't appreciative that this villain was really one note, I don't understand the motivations for being a villain. Without giving any spoilers, the ending is very weird, I believe they can do better.

PS: The OST is very good, especially the main song "My Destiny" is beautiful but it's very overused in the later episodes.

1) The reason I watched this :

The main reason I watched this drama is because of the unique story mix , and the ALIEN concept its very rare to find this type of dramas , thats the main reason for me , As for the cast they were not catchy for me , I have just known Kim Soo Hyun for his amazing role in The Moon that Embraces the Sun in-which he did an amazing job and showed some promising talents , also Yoo InNa who doesn't know her , MAIN role in a very similar drama named Queen In Hyun's Man , best romantic role she ever played, but I liked more her act in this drama as a second lead, it more suited her rather than being the main actor, overall This drama is highly recommended , plz don't miss it . Unique outstanding story , keeps u on edge not all the time but enough to keep u watching .

2) Storyline/Plot:

*The cinematography is great , but the story is even more great which is one of the strong points of this drama

*Main Genres:

--->Supernatural/Fantasy : The alien concept is just perfect for the story , its one of the main reasons which kept the story going , adding this unique and original romantic and comedic scenes , it added a lot to the story , without it , it would just be another regular K-drama series

--->Comedy: Just few moments which make u really laugh , other are just average

--->Romance: very cute , the chemistry between the 2 main leads is present but not that strong

--->melodrama : very poor , despite the fact its rated as one !!!!

Story: 9/10.

3) Acting/Cast:

*Main Leads : Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun both of them done a really great job , but this is not what amazed me , what amazed me more was how the whole cast members leads to the success of this drama , as for me Its my first time to watch an actor called Jun Ji Hyun after a very long period last thing I remember was her famous role in my sassy girl .. she was good but not that perfect for me. but overall both of them were perfect for the drama.

*Supporting actors : I liked most of them , everyone was averagely perfect ..

*Other characters were Perfect , the cast really did a great job , everyone was suitable for his/her role

*Relationships:

--->Romance: one word " Alien Love" , the Alien part added a lot to many scenes especially the second kiss scene make it a unique magical one of a kind scene , chemistry 7.5/10

--->Love Triangle: present but u can't feel it , Actually there was more than one but with no progress or tension , just a simple one surving the main story

Cast: 7/10.
Acting: 7.5/10.

4) The ending: Good one

The ending: 8/10.

*Is the drama memorable: YES

My impression: 8/10.

6) Overall:
Overall: 8/10

Ok. I know that I gave a 10 in every category, but that is because it truly deserves it. Let's start with the story. The story is something that has never been done (at least according to what I have watched), and it isn't super obvious. Yes, every drama has it's obvious moments, but the really important ones in this one aren't at all. Also, the writers did a really good job at keeping the audience at the edge of their seats. I found myself enjoying each and every moment of the drama and was dying to watch the next episode. The cliffhangers killed me but now you can all watch it to your heart's content (aren't you lucky). This drama has a balance in the funny, light-hearted stuff and the heart-wrenching, throw yourself out of the window moments. I won't lie, I cried my heart out watching this at times, but it's not a depressing drama. It has a lot of funny moments and tend to include some of these moments in between sad scenes (maybe to make us less depressed? I don't know). But I think the romance of this really stood out to me as it wasn't the typical cliched couple. And the plot didn't overwhelm you with the idea of aliens; it's subtle and enjoyable. ^-^

Now to talk about the acting. The cast was awesome and they all have a history of wonderful acting skills. The couple had great chemistry and have starred in a movie together before which may have helped with this. I haven't watched the movie yet so I can't really compare or anything. But you don't just fall in love with the main cast, you fall in love with everyone (or hate them to the end's of the earth).

As for the music, I thought it was really put together well. They didn't overuse any of their songs and I find myself humming them throughout the day. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in them.

Lastly, I would definitely watch this again. Maybe I might give it some time before I marathon it because there's too many feels at this point to re-watch it. Although the mystery part of it will already be known, I would still be happy to sit through it all over again.

I highly recommend this drama. Don't let the alien concept dishearten you as it's not forced down your throat. Just sit back and enjoy the show. ~^-^~

omg this was my show, kim soo hyun is my boo im telling you he got me from the first drama in dream high. everything hes in he never disappoints. this show was just daebak. jun ji hyun is another favorite of mine. since her crazy show on "my sassy girl" shes just captures me with her eyes, they look alil cross eyed and makes her acting innocent. the chemisty of the two was off the roof i felt it esp the last episodes. jae kyung, the killer brother on the other hand was bad but his acting was great. i fear him and i would scream if i met him thats how good his acting was. the other side characters were good as well esp song yi's friend who had a crush on do min joon. this show is a must see and he's so fine

Story 9.5/10:
As I watched the first seven minutes of the drama, I got hooked to this one. It is an unique story in the history of SBS' drama's. A love story between an alien and a human. It reminded me of Romeo and Julliet. I liked how so much details were put in the story,I won't spoil, you will know what I mean when you wacth it.

Acting/Cast 9.5/10:
Jeon Ji and Kim Soo were an ideal couple. I love how they matched those two. A plus were the actors cast for the teenager versions of the leadroles. I don't know how they did it, but they really looked like the adult versions.

Music 7/10:
I gave the music a seven because it wasn't different from other drama's.. Although the lyrics were very touching.

Rewatch value 9/10:
I asualy don't rewatch drama's but this one would be an acception. Because I stayed up till 4 in the morning to watch the end. Of all the drama's I watched untill now I thought my first drama would alaways be my favorite but this one equals it.

Overall 9.5/10:
To end my review, I really recommend this one if you like drama, love, supernatural, history, culture and life of a hallyu

I wanted to start watching this drama when I will have a spring break; however, I started with the first episode and continued watching. I could not stop because it was really interesting. I did not know what was going to happen next. Each episode had its own unique charm to it.

I felt the story line is very unique. At first when I started watching I thought this would be smallville type of series. However, this is a very cute and mature drama, not about the powers, but more about the connecting and realizing that this person is meant for you. Honestly, I felt I was part of the story. I believe it is very well written. The actors had done a great job.

One thing I would tell you is to sit back, relax and keep your mind open about the possibilities because you do not know what course the drama will take.

I originally planned watching this drama at a later date, but I actually just finished it last night, and now I'm here with my review.

Kim Soo Hyun is the reason I watched this drama, but Jeon Ji Hyeon is the reason I stayed. Actually, the whole cast was fantastic, I just really really loved Jeon Ji Hyeon's character. I didn't realize before, but after looking the actress up, I discovered that both her and Kim Soo Hyun were in The Thieves (more reason to love them)!

Anyways, on with my review. You all read the plot summary already. Honestly, I thought this drama was gonna be lame, but it was actually quite enjoyable. It's about this alien thts been on earth for 400yrs, and is returning to his home planet in three months time, but ends up falling in love with a human. You'll witness the process of him falling for her, and it's actually really cute. But I'll admit, I was a little annoyed at this drama. I understood Min Joon's motivations (the alien), but I want to scream out of frustration every time he rejected Song Yi (the human). I totally understood Song Yi's frustration with him, like he tells her he doesn't want her, and then won't leave her alone. Song Yi is just fantastic throughout. And I really really really loved the guy that's in love with her, Lee Hui Kyung. I really hated his brother tho, but then again, who didn't. And the scenes when he's performing his powers/abilities were really cool. I really loved those parts, they're possibly my favorite parts in the whole drama.

Min Joon's background story is so boring tho. Thts why I didn't rate this drama higher tbh. It was really stupid, and I just did not care. I don't want to spoil anything, so all I'll say is that 400yrs ago, when Min Joon first came to earth, he saved a girl that looked just like Song Yi. Most boring part for sure. There were many other minor annoyances, but I can't list them because it would definitely spoil this drama, but like I said, they're minor.

I wouldn't say I loved this drama, but I did like it a lot. First of all, Kim Soo Hyun is my baby and I love him to pieces and he is the best crier in all of Korea okay. He is the best, period. Second, if you watched Dream High, there's a treat for you in this drama! I'm not gonna say what it is, because it's so much better as a surprise, but all I know is that I screamed in delight and it made me love the drama more. Thirdly, the cast is wonderful, especially the main actress. I've become a fan of hers. I wouldn't rewatch this drama anytime soon, but I did marathon it. It's engaging, and it's entertaining, and yea I guess I'd recommend this drama if you're looking for a romance drama. Pretty good in my book.

I'm not a veteran kdrama fan and the total number of kdrama i've seen is 2, first is King 2 Heart which didn't leave much of a impression on me and YWCFTS. I found this drama through Google search on Korean TV series and the really gorgeous picture of KSH and JJH caught my eye right off the bat. With no prior knowledge of kdrama actor/actress, i was able to experience YWCFTS with a very fresh and unbiased view. Long story short, this drama blew me away and converted me into loving kdramas.

Story:
The story is probably the weakest part of this series with several discrepancies that leaves you with more questions than answers. The weakness stems from the supernatural-ness of the main character Do Min Joon being an alien who comes from another planet. Over time while watching, many questions will arise regarding DMJ (the alien's) background and how relevant it is to the story at all. In the end, the only relevancy appears to be the fact DMJ never ages and he is a living fossil of 400 years of Korean history. If you go into this show expecting Sci-fi rational you might be sorely disappointed. However questions about DMJ's past aside, the rest of the storyboard which focuses on melodrama is very solid and extremely well paced. 8.5/10

Acting/Cast:
JJH acting as Cheong Song Yi really outdid herself in this role, the amount of versatility required of her character was extremely high. She has to portray the glamorous life of a top Hallyu star with all the pride and arrogance that celebrities are known for, while showing the viewers the vulnerable person underneath all that; a girl who was forced to grow up too quick, a woman who has not yet experienced the thrills of first love, and a daughter in a broken family. In the span of this drama, she awes us all with the facets of the character Cheong Song Yi, we laugh when she is silly and drunk, cry when she is sad and heartbroken, scream when she is alone and in danger, and then laugh some more at her singing and rapping.
KSH acting as Do Min Joon the alien who lived on Earth for more than 400 years. He did a great job at expressing emotion using very little facial expression and portraying a 'old soul' aura onto his character. KSH has very natural chemistry with JJH this cannot be reputed, their very brief but scorching kiss scene in The Thieves was the highlight of the movie while I watched it. The same can be said for this drama, whenever scenes of the two occur it's a natural magnet for the eyes they stand out in a very good way. So kudos to the casting for putting KSH and JJH together in one drama, they already won half the battle in my opinion.
Props should also be given to the supporting casts especially Yoo In Na who played the jealous best friend of Cheong Song Yi who somehow managed to gain my sympathy despite the antagonism of her role. Park Hae Jin who played the foolish man who is in love with the same girl for over 15 years and still persists, what a stubborn and loyal guy. Shin Sung Rok the villain with the deadly creepy glare, he has pretty natural chemistry with KSH too, the scenes of the two standing face to face glaring at each other redefines black and white. 10/10

Music:
I was very taken with the music in this drama, both instrumental and OST songs. My favorite songs in the OST are 'Like a Star' by K.Will and 'Tears Like Today' by Huh Gak. I really enjoy the way the OST complements the natural atmosphere of the drama and enhances the heart warming aspects without sounding like background noise as it happens in some dramas. The instrumental Beethoven Revolution, Stars Comic Tension, Run Away (Ending Title), are some of the highlights in the drama that never fails to set the mood and increase the tension. 9/10

Rewatch Value:
This where this drama breaks open my door and set a new record for me in terms of loving it. How worth is it of a re-watch? I can answer this by saying, the first time i watched this drama i did it in 3 days. 5 days later i re-watched it again this time in 2 days. It only took another 9 days for me to decide to re-re-watch it again. Each time i watched I did not regret every single minute it took because i still laughed at all of Cheong Song Yi's silliness and enjoyed every bit of DMJ/CSY interaction on screen just as if it was the first time. Would i re-watch this drama even more in the future? Without a doubt yes, maybe in a year or two i will come back to it again. 10/10

Overall:
I wonder if this drama set the bar too high for me in the future of kdramas, post YWCFTS i've tried to watch a few other kdrama but none had as big of a emotional impact on me. I'm not in the habit of rating things 10/10 and in light of the flaws in the story, as well as the ending nearly disappointing me I will not give it a perfect 10, but a 9.5.

Finally a show I can say isn`t overrated! Ah... `My love from the stars` made its way to the top of my favorite drama list. It`s comfortably paced, the ending wasn`t suffocating, it`s very funny and entertaining, the acting was A+ and though I thought he fell way too fast and too hard with someone as shallow and thick as Song Yi, the romance was not vomit inducing - quite the opposite, actually - it had my heart fluttering and boy.... is that a hard goal to accomplish! lol Ahem.
I love Hwi Kyeong and his sexy evil brother, I love Song Yi`s family and everyone working with her, I love the lawyer, Bok Ja, the prosecutor and his partner and even Se Mi... there are many enjoyable characters in the show, which is a relief. I love the flashbacks the most and the little epilogues... I am shamelessly in love with this show and everything about it to even question the plot here and there so this will be just another positive review, sorry guys.
Everyone should watch this.
