Arghh... and don't get me started on the FL!

What a waste of drama. What a waste of the actor talents like Lee Jae Wook and Lee Jun Young.

I was so excited for this drama because of the both male leads. I have loved most of their previous works, especially LJY. But here I am, frustrated and disappointed in this show. The unnecessary love triangle is the first drawback of this drama. Even by just putting it in the back of my mind hoping to focus on the revenge and all the scheming the main lead would be doing, all we get is some discussion here and there and no action. Very boring... Whereas, we are shoved in with the infuriating love triangle which honestly doesn't make sense, like as if the FL is the only woman in this world for these two male leads. I don't even get what these two sees in her. It's more like, they just want to win her over the other than actually want her for herself.

And don't get me started on the FL. How did this lady even get a main role? HOW? Did no one make her audition or ask her if she can act? Ya, I know it sounds harsh, but gosh she is so bad in acting that I just skip her scenes rather than watch her trying to emote nothingness. And before any of you come at me saying, hey it's her first role and cut her some slack... I would understand if it was a supporting role, I would agree she is learning but to land a main lead and to do a horrendous job out of it. Yikes. Give it to some other talented person rather than ruin it for everyone else. I am sorry but she really is so bad I would not recommend this drama to anyone. And also will be staying away from any of her projects in the future. Argh!

first comment. FL annoying as hell

Unfortunately I agree with everyone regarding that female lead and I hope screenwriters/writers/directors take that in consideration. We are sick of these roles as viewers and readers. It is no longer interesting. The sister’s role played by Hee Jin is all the craziness we needed to entertain us. This reminds me of Itaewon C and most of all hated Soo-A i have considered dropping because of her many times but I live Park SeoJoon). Anyway This has nothing to do with Hong Su Zu’s acting ; that’s a subject for another day?.

The Plot Went from ? To ⬇️

first of all the female lead's role is unnecessary asf. IN EPISODE 6 THE FL AND TAEHO KISSED right before the wedding? Does this make sense? this is so toxic? like what the hell is even happening right here? im so frustrated by this show. And what is even happening with Inha? i thought this drama was about taeho and inha? Now the plot has completely changed
Inha became the villain and Taeho the innocent one? He isn't even innocent? no matter what he shouldn't have kissed his best friend's fiance. the FL doesn't even like inha and she's literally out there cheating on him with taeho? Taeho'w character development is literally 0. he literally became a looser. And like they literally changed the main plot. at least i didn't expect inha to be the villain. the FL married inha cuz of his money. No matter what Inha And Taeho should've been together on the same boat. this is so messed up. thr whole drama is so messed up. and the fact second fl is thousand times better than the main female lead. just seeing her on my screen makes me wanna drop the drama. she's does not fit at all. She shouldve just stayed as inha's wife cuz that is her only goal in life , being wealthy. NOW AFTER ALLL THIS SHIT THE FL SUDDENLY WANTS TO PLAY THE VICTIM CARD? nothing in this drama is making sense. the second fl deserves better. Han taeho is literally blind atp. The second fl always tried to support him in every situation and our adorable taeho brutally rejected her just to kiss someone else's FIANCE. o my god i can't this is so frustrating.

Color me surprised!

I am honestly awed by this series, that actually managed to get worse with every passing episode. And now you'll ask "Why are you watching, if it is that bad? Stop judging and drop it".

Well the answer is simple; Hate-watching. This is such a badly written series that it is fun to criticize and see how bad it can get.

Now, to the people actually wanting to know what is wrong with it and if it has any redeeming qualities, I will quickly mention the good and the bad.

The good:

+ Some of the actors are watchable:  Even though the cast is filled with some very popular actors, unfortunately, most of them are not as good as usual. Despite that though, they are still caring this drama that lacks in everything else.

We have Lee Jae Wook (Han Tae Oh), Choi Jin Ho (Kang Joong Mo) and Choi Hee Jin (Kang Hee Joo) that are doing -mostly- a good job. Then we have Lee Jun Young (Kang In Ha) that is okay. After this series, I am honestly not sure if he is a bad actor and I thought he was good in his past performances or he is good and he was just not that great in this series.

+ Kang Hee Joo: Most people like her, others don't understand why the majority likes her. Well I am here to answer that.
Kang Hee Joo is the only one in this series that seems to have a character -and an actress that can support it-. Besides her gorgeous looks, she is the only one that is actually consistent and has a personality. Is this personality not really "great"? Yes. She is naive, persistent and toxic at times. But she feels real and is great to watch.

Now we will get to the bad (yes that was all the "positive"):

- Plot: I don't have lots of things to say. This is just a very badly written series. Characters are purely unlikable and change personalities (like Tae Oh being a genius, but suddenly turning dumb), romance is cringy and unnecessary -and I am being very kind-, actions are not really explained or make sense (like ruthless FL that appears so strong and has all these great ambitions -even gets married to benefit herself- and when her mother asks for money, she turns super weak and cries when she could just get rid of her one way or another-) and let's not forget that this basically turned into a makjang halfway through (people playing dead, actual murders, evil dad coming back, fake allegations leading to death sentences etc.)

- Time skips: One of the worst -if not the worst- decisions of the writer. We have so many time skips for no reason. First episode, we are literally getting to know the characters. They have this great plan to rise in power and suddenly boom 5 and 10 year time skips where they have achieved so much and are in these high positions and we don't know how and what happened in between.

- Characters: The characters are generally very one dimensional or they tend to like completely change personalities. That aside, another thing that bothered me is that some characters appear, seeming important or promising, and then they suddenly dissappear like they were never part of the plot -or writer remembers them when he needs them for the plot to move forward-.

- Root for who?: I felt like the scriptwriter wanted the audience to root for Tae Oh and Hye Won, and here I am rooting for Hee Joo and even In Ha at times.
All characters are super unlikable and they try to pass as this "male and female lead are the good ones". My dude, they are not. Tae Oh kissed his best friends wife and did everything in his power to destroy a conglomerate family and for what? For nothing. And Hye Won? She married In Ha just to get power and cheated on him with his best friend! And did she actually get any power? Yes (when the script said so). Let's not forget how she tried to take advantage of everyone and always put herself first...

- Draggy or fast paced: I am not sure! This seriss felt super draggy at times. I was sooo bored. Other times, it felt like it needed so much more time to develop the "plot" and the characters.

- Romance: It is so cringy and unnecessary. FL's incapability in acting aside -she looks like someone forced her to be there-, the interactions between her and Tae Oh are so cringy. They have zero chemistry.
Also, I don't understand why and how the whole "falling in love" happened. First of all, female lead is just purely unlikable as a character. Secondly, they barely have any interactions. Like when did he fall head over heels for her? Lastly, the romance is just sooo unnecessary. It is just a plot tool that is used in some cases to make Tae Oh do things he shouldn't be doing...

- FL is unnecessary and badly written: Oh look, another female main character that has nothing to add in the series. Writing wise, she is supposed to be manipulative, ambitious and self-centered. But she literally does nothing. She gets privilages just because script says so and out of the blue. She is just there helping other people with their plans. The only thing that she does is marrying In Ha, but even that was something he initiated.

- Clichés: Many and I mean many clichés. We have the typical chaebol fights for the "throne", the typical sad backstories/dysfunctional families of the main leads, the typical bad "siblings" and many others.

- Hong Su Zu's acting as Na Hye Won: Su Zu's performance is one of the worst if not the worst I have ever seen in a Kdrama by a female actress all these years. There it is, I said it.

After reading many comments like "She will get better, it is her first main role" or "Don't be harsh with her, it is her first role" and completely disagreeing, I want to express my opinion.

Firstly, the crew responsible for the casting should have seen that she is incapable of acting, especially since she would act as the freaking female lead -emphasis on lead-. So why she was chosen? Either, they really liked her looks or there is another reason (connections, being popular -or  impossible- all other candidates were worse). Now, no one can convince me they liked her acting, because she just can't act.

Even if there were connections involved, the director should have helped as much as possible to get a good result or just try to guide her. And I don't know if he did, but it doesn't seem so. Not even a single frame of her compliments her. Even when she is sleeping she looks tense.

Moving on, actress takes the other half (and more) of the blame. She should just not have taken this role, if she knew she can't do it. This is not a support or guest role to get familiar with the whole acting process and learn. This is a main role and more so in a series with some big names.

The thing that irritates me the most is that it doesn't even look like she is trying. She has a puppy eye expression no matter what is happening. Seeing something that can ruin her life? Puppy eyes. Someone is literally chocking her? Puppy eyes. Like come on!

It's not like she is good at being serious and she lacks in the emotional scenes. She lacks in every single scene, no exception.

So no, for me, "don't be harsh, this is her first role" isn't an excuse for such a horrible performance. We have seen child actors doing better. We have seen other actors doing better in their "first roles". If she had some good scenes, I would understand. I would ignore. But that is not the case.

Of course, threatening the actress and posting hate comments on her account is a big no. She is human too.

I do think that if she chooses to continue acting, she should do proper training, because this is not it.

Ending: I didn't expect the series to suddenly turn good in the end and, well, I was right. The ending was as expected. Evil In Ha gets his punishment, while male lead Tae Oh -that was also not the greatest person out there- and love interest Hye Won get their happy ending...

All in all, a very badly written series with some questionable acting performances and barely any redeeming qualities. Ideal only for hate watching.

Literally What

Where is this drama going I thought this was going to be like an overthrow your way to the top kind of drama but literally nothing could’ve told me what direction it would go in. From the attack to the random hacker friend l, who I still don’t even know where he came from, and now a unconscious murder mystery like just stop. everybody’s acting in this ranges from decent-great however the FL is an outlier. for example the scene in ep 4 where she’s getting on the elevator was just really bad. idk what’s going on

A POORLY LAID SCRIPT GONE AWRY

I wish I could put my disappointment for this series into words but honestly whatever I say, I can promise the show is worse.
The entire plot hinges upon the fact that we have two unlikely characters who have joined forces and are planning a takeover..
They never explain the reason. There needs to be more reason than the fact that you are poor.
And the basis, the alliance between the two main characters was the one selling point of the show and that's been ruined as well. The only good thing about the show is Hee jo and she's not given enough screen time....

Bad acting from FL and BAD STORY

I am very surprised that A LOT of people object to this drama's love triangle. After watching the trailer and reading the synopsis, there shouldn't be any surprise about the love triangle being part of the plot.
Although I am not against the predictable love triangle story, I find myself concurring with the majority in objecting the love triangle for a few reasons:
1) the FL is really not a good actress. She cannot emote feelings through expressions and eyes acting. Her eyes and face are expressionless, not because she's a stoic character, but because she cannot express her character's emotions. She's supposed to be a complex person: she has been abused by her mom, she's poor, she wants to get ahead; on other hand, she has feelings for the ML. She's not supposed to choose love and yet she did!

I tend to feel sorry for this type of character; and yet, I don't feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for the MLs though ... because they act out their characters convincingly. So far, she's not convincing.

You can do a comparison (for example the scene where she is being harassed by the gangsters) ... observe Tae Oh and her ... what a big difference. His face, eyes, and body are natural. Hers looked unnatural ... I couldn't tell what she was feeling.

2) There is so much going on with the MLs and their backgrounds that the writers didn't spend enough time to develop the FL's story. The blending of her into the team is not smooth. Maybe they should have let her join the team in a capacity of a smart girl who has some skills to help out. And then the romance starts to develop as the guys understand her better.

Instead she is reduced to being a cliche female in a love triangle ... It's ridiculous that in 2024, women are still being treated as a sidekick ... she's attending the best college in Korea, she's smart ... I don't see why she is being typecasted into a plot of a love triangle.

And I don't see why she has to depend on a man to move up to a better life???? Unless Korea as a society doesn't give women opportunities.

Disney should re-examine what they show on their channel! So much for their support of equality. The cinderella story is still being perpetuated in 2024!

Eps 3,4
Ep 3 is confusing ... things are just presented like a bullet points ... The whole episode is set up so that they can show the machinations of the stepmother and son #2 ... and how ML choreograph the take over step by step. Surprise surprise ... the FL continues to be a bad actress.

Ep 4
I don't like the way the story is presented. The viewer is tricked into believing a bad scenario only to be surprised that there was a plan that made everything ok again. You can only do this trick once ... They employed a couple already ... made the story flow confusing and disengaging.
Now the surprising conversation reveals the ML#1 cares so much ML#2 ... maybe something is lost in the translation ... "You are the reason ..."
If I were ML #2 I would be asking why ????

Ep 5-6
Story is getting predictable. Plot of double-crossing is getting old. Inha's father gave the biggest clue of all: Inha is like his father. LJY is a very good actor in this drama. His eyes ... wow ... show the psychotic and unpredictable tendency. It's easy to act as a straight good or a bad person. But harder to act as an evil/amoral person. He almost gives that Anthony Hopkins vibe in the Silence of the Lamb.
At this point I am indecisive as to continue to follow this drama any more ... It just doesn't make sense to me about the FL's fear of her mom. Maybe I don't understand Korean culture.
I don't feel the relationship between the ML1 and FL is logical or emotionally developed. There doesn't seem to be chemistry between them. I feel it's contrived.

7-8
OMG, I couldn't imagine the story could get any lower but it did. Nothing makes sense. Everything is contrived. Going to drop it NOW.
FL continues to be a drag. The only good actor is the 2nd ML who acts his role so well.
8-9
At this point I am just FF through to see how bad it can get. OMG, the actress is so bad at acting that I couldn't tell if she was hurting or happy when she discovered HTO had escaped the prison ... I thought ohh, maybe there's something there ... NOPE, just bad acting!
As predicted from last week, the Chairman came to the rescue.
My prediction this week: the chairman will wake up ... he's has 9 lives!

10-12
Sorry I had to go back and lower the score to 6 so that I can save some people from watching this ridiculous drama. I just saw the last 2 eps and omg, don't these writers know how badly the story is written? I hate it. It just doesn't make sense ... Yeh right ... like the heir miraculously turned to be the hero who is not related to the Chairman by blood. When does that happen IRL? NEVER! We are talking about Korean family run business here! And then that CM lives on forever... he has 9 lives ! As predicted (and this drama is so predictable) he wakes again!

FL remains the sore point all the way to end. Not sure what her role should be? Why do women always have to focus on themselves and stay lonely to get to higher places??? OMG, we are in 2024 right now and still have to choose either career or love???? This doesn't make sense and so outdated!

Another thing that's wrong with the ending is the suicide of the ML. Korean society already have one of the highest rate of suicides. Why put this in the drama ending to emphasize that dying is the only way to redemption. NO! Redemption is done through serving time in the prison!

Disappointment is an understatement

From "let's takeover a company even though i'm an illegitimate child" turned into "you guys cheated on me so now I will revenge by killing and kidnaping people" real fast.

And don't get me started on the acting of the female lead. Whoever decided to cast her is definitely incapable. Not only
does she have one reaction on her face, she doesn't have any charisma to capture the audiences attention. I have to keep forwarding the drama every time she starts speaking.

The main problem though is the plot, it has so many holes in it, I don’t even know if it can be called a plot anymore. In the whole drama I can’t understand the motives of Han Taeho, I can’t understand the bond between the male leads, I can't understand why they like the girl, and finally I can’t understand anyone’s motivation. It feels like the writers don’t know the workings of human beings.

The Impossible Heir

I am surprised that Wedding Impossible got a better rating than the Impossible Heir.

This is a good series, if you watch each episode attentively. My observation and opinion of the series.

The story does not drift from its themes.
There is a reason for the main characters forming a friendship. Their lives had similar beginnings.

The FL's character portrays that she is not one to be swayed by her emotions. She does not show how vulnerable she really is. She is unaffectionate, and does not depend on any of the male leads. No one can guess what she is thinking or feeling. Hence, her team leader disliked her, because he could not read through her. (This gives the viewers an understanding of her personality) This is probably why her acting is criticized.

Male lead, Tae-ho. Character portrays that he is naive but strong. He is strategic, but desires nothing. Everything to him is about survival.

Other male lead, In-Ho. His character portrays that he wants acknowledgement. Viewers are already introduced to his attention seeking personality in the first episode (stealing and bulling) yet his attempts still does not get him the acknowledgement he wants. Furthermore, his insecurities arouses his jealousy of Tae-Ho. His friend should stay below him. This is also introduced in the first episode (0.1% in the national mock test exam)

All the supporting actors were good at their roles, especially Kang In-Ho's sister. Loved it.

Music, I really don't pay attention to music in series.
I never rewatch any series I've already watch.

Overall series. Like every story, this has themes, climax, and a thoughtful ending. This is a good series. Watch it on Disney Channel to perceive it yourself :)

WORST DRAMA OF 2024

So this drama started with bad acting and a bad storyline. Soon I got over it and started to expect something from this drama but as usual, this drama didn't improve but only went down the drain. Every character is unlikable but in a bad way. It's not like they're antagonists but they're lifeless without any soul. 2 kids planning on taking down an empire, clingy annoying rich girl, and a female lead with no personality. It's just Lee jae wook that made me watch this drama, and now i'm disappointed. I can stare at a wall for 1 hour rather than watching this abomination.

I couldn't believe my eyes

I know everyone is saying this, but the FL is killing me. I usually don't watch romance dramas, but I recently picked up Queen of Tears and I loved the FL. I think these two women are supposed to be similar in the sense that they are(mind my Gen Z ness) both supposed to be girlbosses. Of course, they have their differences and the FL of QOT is supposed to be more stoic and expressionless while the FL of Impossible Heir is....Wait why was she also expressionless?

I don't know what the writers were trying to attempt when writing her character. She isn't even a morally grey character or wtv. She's just flat-out unlikeable. I feel like there should be certain extent to morally bad stuff you can get your characters to commit if you still want them to be redeemed.

I loved the actor for Taeoh. The script and plot were bad but he wasn't. However, his character along with the FL was questionable. I mean, Inha was a shitty dude in the end, but that doesn't excuse the shitty thing these two committed behind his back. There are a lot of bad things that are redeemable in shows, but cheating and kicking puppies is not one of them. From then on, it was hard to support the MCs.

I'm not done shitting on the FL yet tho. I rlly like the way Huiju said it. She only cares about herself. Personally, nothing is wrong with trying to find a rich husband and marrying him or wtv. I mean u do u. But what was the point of even adding her to the story if that literally all she was going to do? She barely contributed to the plot as FL all she did was act as fodder to get between Inha and Taeoh... literally a below-average love triangle and I didn't even know love triangles could become even more horrific.

Ridiculously, she also literally just disappeared in the last two episodes while Taeoh was putting inha in jail. There was not one real attempt at making her and Taeoh's chemistry seem passable. At this point, its safe to say they aren't even in love anymore. Which brings the question, literally what was all that drama for?

Speaking of reasoning for drama, the way they handled Inha's character was ridiculous. He was supposed be a morally grey character and a sociopath(?). At the beginning, we can already see his questionable character, but the transition from that(pretty harmless school troll persona) to a psychopath murderer was barbaric. The two MLs friendship wasn't even all that fleshed out and when Inha suddenly turned on Taeoh, it didn't feel that hard-hitting.

One thing I was looking at to see if this story can redeem is whether or not Inha's character would be dynamic. I wanted him to feel bad and not just after he's been punished. We need to see the regret at the moment but have his greed overpower any sympathy he has. Otherwise, it literally wouldn't make any logical sense to make it seem like he places this obnoxious amount of effort into him and Taeoh's friendship. I wish the friendship was at least somewhat genuine. But the way they wrote the characters made it seem like the writers half realized that the villain would become more popular than the morally dubious main characters if they made the villain anything less than a cold-hearted, ungraceful turd. Literally, all of that could be solved if they had a well-written villain and hero. If Taeoh(the FL could disappear from the story for all I care tbh)'s sacrifices for Inha were more spelled out and his care for the other were more pronounced, no doubt he would be dynamic. It shouldn't just be "Im going to help you succeed." It should include real heartwarming scenes between the two that actually convince us of their relationship and care for each other. That way, when Inha betrays him, it would be more provoking.

Side note: if u want a likable main character, then u probably shouldn't write them do any assholery before the villain makes his move(i.e. have them kiss the girl they were hung up over for the past ten years, who is also coincidentally their best friend's WIFE. i.e. having the kiss look dry and romancefree probably did NOT help.). I was starting to think that Inha killing Taeoh would be justified( a bit, murder is never ok but fiction is fiction) if he really was mad about Taeoh kissing his wife. Unfortunately, his character also became irredeemable when he turned out to be a wife beater...

I was honestly appalled the entire time I watched the last two episodes. usually, scenes like this are supposed to feel satisfying. Like yay the hero beats the bad guy and puts him behind bars! Look at the savage shit he did in the process, you would never guess his intelligence, so cool! But all I can feel was pity for how much they fucked up Inha's character. Like he had the potential to be a heart-wrenching tragic villain, but when Taeoh asked why Inha did all that evil shit, the dude literally said Idk. They literally couldn't even come up for a valid reason for the villain to be a villain. ur joking. This story has no substance whatsoever.
How can ts be 12 episodes and still be so vague. I don't understand.

ps. I actually did not listen to the song so my rating on it is null.
