Worth it to watch

I really loved this drama! I thought Lighter and Princess would forever be my favorite C-drama, but after watching this, it instantly became my #1, with L&P now in second place.

This drama felt so relatable to me. The Chinese culture shown here is so similar to the Philippines—especially the part where you have to follow your very strict parents. The way parents stay deeply connected with the in-laws, sometimes to the point of becoming a burden, was portrayed so realistically.

But what makes this drama stand out is that it’s not just about romance—it beautifully highlights the strength of family relationships and the importance of family values. The lessons they want to impart to viewers are heartfelt and meaningful.

Highly recommended! It’s truly worth watching.

THE STORY WHICH EXPLAINS THE TRUE MEANING OF "GROWING UP IN A BROKEN FAMILY"

qiao qingyu is that girl almost everyone in her teens would be ! indecisive, reckless, yet very responsible, loving person ! personally she was that person to me who i could basically relate ! i used to also thing like my parents are doing injustice everything anol which u guys wil understand more while seeing the draama and why she did some questionabe things like runni ng away and actually not fully undrstanding her mom and why her mom actions were a bit harsh...

ming sheng is another character who literaly jus judged his father sooo hard like yaaaa broo was veryyy childish yaaa he was jus a 17 yr old soo and the situations surrounding him made him feel that way but am happpy that he realised things werent the bad as he felt and he grew up too

i was a bit disappointed was their romance it wasnt romance it was melo dramaaaa.. but the way the drama was taken naaah though i was disapointed i liked it to a extent!! the story wasnt bout love it was bout GROWING UP !!!! how pl not always be happy and how a child grows in a broken family

well done to everyone and yaaaaaa its a good watch for u guys to see

As long as you turn around, I am always there!!!

Reborn, is a message oriented, highly emotional family drama, which definitely leaves an impact on you, imho.
It comes with a simple yet most complex plot line told through the suffering of a family, especially through our protagonist , Qiao Qing Yu and her family, whose lives turn upside down after the death of her sister, Qiao Bei Yu.
It showcases the predujuces she abd her family face due to her sister's death, the emotional trauma each of them carries, that has been buried in their hearts, the ugly side of familial relations and many other issues that everyone of us can relate to in our real life.
It showcases the bond between parents and children, choosing between society and relatives and our children, and how sometimes, everything the children need is only a simple line from their parents-"I am there and will always be with you ", that really makes a huge differene in the lives of children.
Anyways, the plot is about how Qiao Qing Yu, the female lead brings justice to her sister, who wasn't stopped judging by the society even after death and how she overcomes all these emotional struggles and leads her family to a joyuos home, is all what this drama is about.
I really liked the way, the story proceeds very realistically.
The female lead, Qiao Qing Yu, played by Zhang Jingyi, is perhaps the most serious female character, I have ever watched. She is firm, determined, confident, stubborn, strong, who stands up for her sister, to bring justice for her. She, though being impulsive, in the beginning, definitely grows to be a mature young girl. She is not the typical female lead that we often see, but under her silence, you can see how powerful she is enduring everything, yet trying to stand up for what she believes. She is fearless, bold and brave.
Zhang Jingyi, really surprised me with her STUNNING, OUTSTANDING performance. She carried the whole show excellently. An excellent, fabulous acting from her💯👍👏
Now coming to Ming Sheng, he is my favourite character in this drama, the male lead, brings out the smile in our Qing Yu, always supports her unconditionally, was the only one who was there for her in her loneliest and toughest times of her life, always finds her, helps her and clears the obstacles in her life.
Zhou yiran, as I said, is an excellent actor and this is another work of him that exactly highlights his excellent acting skills👍👌
Liu Dan, the actress who played her mother, deserves a special applause for her outstanding performance as a mother, who lost one daughter, trying to protect another daughter, undergoing depression, supporting family,a heavy burden deeply buried in her heart and yet under trauma, that sometimes makes Qing yu suffer.
The music was excellent with lyrics carrying powerful messages.
The production, photography, every thing were perfect.
What I like the most in this drama, is the underlying beautiful Love story between the leads. I liked how she can be what she is, in the presence of Ming Sheng. He has been the only person who supported her both emotionally, physically and also, personally and professionally. He was always there for her, her "LIGHTHOUSE".
I liked the idea of how the director and the writers have showed us the unconditional support and love of Ming Shen to Qing Yu through the "legend of lighthouse".
"Some of my fave lines are-
Ming Sheng to Qing yu-As long as you turn around, I will always be there.
Qing Yu-No matter how many roads i went, they all led to you. "
So for me, the LOVE STORY, really took an extra point over the rest of the series, though its limited screen time is the only downside for me.
Overall a beautiful ,emotional , story of Qing Yu, who afterall what she went through, found her LIGHTHOUSE, her third wish that had come true😊😍.
A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED MUST WATCH CHINESE DRAMA for me.

A Masterpiece. and I'm not even exaggerating rating it a 10

i just finished this series and i am deadass speechless?? like bruh, how is it even possible to feel THIS many things while just chillin in bed at 2am? anyway, listen up: the romance? straight-up fire. like, “i’ll always be here when u turn back” – my boi was basically a walking love anthem, eyes talking louder than words, actions screaming “marry me pls.”
everyone wanted more scenes? nah, that was perfect, sometimes less is more, u get me? u don’t gotta overdo it, the vibe was js right.

qingyu? she’s a whole mood, so fierce and inspiring and her glow inside and out's shining brighter than my phone screen at midnight. shengggg oh my god, i wanna meet someone like him so bad — like, so different, so special, so just wow. someone i can look at and be like, “damn, that’s my pookie.”

the whole thing? absolute perfection. acting? chef’s kiss. story? chef’s kiss. vibe? chef’s kiss. the music? i was about to cry js listening to the intro, it’s THAT magical. the editing? so smooth, so clean, so on point. and the mama? legend especially her acting bro. i was crying like a whole baby ngl.

this story's so real and deep, like... it’s about life’s struggles but also the cute, tender moments that touch ur soul. and her fam's total relatable chaos, her bro? hilarious as hell, totally reminded me of my own weird family. the raw feelsss so authentic, i was vibing.

beiyu? she’s me, she’s u, she’s all of us. her story is so tragic, but her memory lives on. I love her so much. me and my sis are basically that age gap, lmao. and honestly, i wanna know who the genius behind this is because they’re a certified legend. made something so special, so touching, i swear my heart was doing overtime.

i usually prefer movies, but here? i couldn’t skip a single episode. i was so invested, i felt all the feels — especially for beiyu and her lil cutie pie sis.. mumu. omg, mumu is THE most adorable human being ever, i wanna squeeze her forever. her bond with Qingyu? so pure, so real. made me wonder if there are actual people like that irl.

this series? gave me all the vibes — peace, sadness, hope, all that. i swear i’ll rewatch it asap, but rn i need a lil break cuz it’s js too beautiful and intense.

if u haven’t seen it yet, what r u even DOING with ur life? go binge it NOW, like, what r u waiting for?!!!

? Reborn (焕羽) — A Quiet Reckoning with Grief, Memory, and Defiance

🕯 Reborn (焕羽) — A Quiet Reckoning with Grief, Memory, and Defiance
Genres: Youth Drama, Mystery, Psychological, Coming-of-Age
Themes: Justice, Sibling bonds, Quiet strength, Memory, Truth-seeking

📝 Story — 10/10
Reborn isn’t here to thrill — it’s here to stay. This is a story about what happens when silence becomes survival, when justice is a personal mission, and when growing up means learning to stand still in the storm.

What makes Reborn special is not what it says — but what it doesn’t. It gives the viewer space to sit with ambiguity, to lean into discomfort, and to listen to the quiet. The pacing is unhurried, but never aimless. Every scene serves the emotional core of the story.

This is not a conventional mystery, nor a typical youth drama. It’s about grief as inheritance. Truth as resistance. And healing as something that often arrives in fragments.

🎭 Acting/Cast — 10/10
Zhang Jingyi delivers one of her most nuanced and quietly devastating performances to date. As Qiao Qingyu, she brings a fragile strength that never needs to be overstated. Her face holds entire emotional arcs — the flicker of resistance behind weary eyes, the trembling restraint in her voice, the stillness that speaks louder than any outburst. She captures the particular loneliness of a girl who sees too much and is believed too little.

Zhou Yiran, as Min Sheng, is beautifully understated. He doesn’t try to steal the spotlight — he simply holds it steady. There’s a gravity to his presence, a tenderness beneath the silence. His role is not to save Qingyu, but to witness her — and that makes all the difference. Their chemistry is quiet, patient, and deeply rooted in emotional trust. It’s not about declarations. It’s about staying.

The supporting cast, too, is finely calibrated — no caricatures, no throwaway roles. From family members burdened by generational pain to classmates with hidden scars, every character feels grounded in reality. Each character contributes to the heavy emotional atmosphere without tipping it into melodrama. Together, they form a mosaic of a wounded but breathing world.

🎵 Music — 9.0/10
The soundtrack is sparse, almost imperceptible at times — and that’s exactly why it works. It never leads the emotion, it simply honors it. Piano motifs and ambient textures blend into the silences, allowing emotion to rise naturally from the performances. The main theme lingers, not as melody, but as memory.

🔁 Rewatch Value — 10/10
Like memory itself, Reborn deepens the second time around. Once you know the shape of the story, every glance, hesitation, and unsaid word carries new weight. It’s not the kind of drama you “re-watch” — it’s the kind you re-live.

💬 Overall — 10/10
Reborn isn’t trying to entertain — it’s trying to tell the truth. Softly. Patiently. Without apology. It’s a rare kind of drama that doesn’t raise its voice to be heard. It doesn’t have to.

If you’ve ever felt like the world moved on without asking what you lost, if you’ve ever held someone’s pain in your own silence, if you’ve ever told yourself to endure when no one else noticed — Reborn will feel like a mirror.

It’s not made for everyone. But if it’s for you, you’ll know.

A drama that doesn’t ask to be loved. It asks to be understood.

Drama with a sensitive topic

This is a dramatic story with sensitive topics like the feeling of abandonment for a girl that can make a girl search for love in the wrong places. The consequences and family turmoil in this 2007 Chinese society. I usually like comedies or some drama with a little comedy. This is a very good series if you can handle the drama as an audience. I left as I find the topic difficult to watch for my own entertainment. Everyone's tastes are different and this can be a good series for others.

Amazing Drama

One of the best chinese dramas I have ever watched. Zhou Yiran needs more recognition as he is such an amazing actor from such a young age. As well as Jingyi, she is also beautiful and natural. The plot was amazing . It emphasizes a great deal of importance about Menta Health. Which is not a popular topic/plot to many dramas.

MAJESTIC MORAL

kalo orang tanya, drama modern terbaik apa? REBORN!. dimulai dari plotnya, awalnya si lumayan ragu mau dibawa kemana alurnya tapi premisnya menarik jarang² ada drama ngangkat premis kayak gini jadi tetep lanjutin nonton. and then BOOM! penulisan script nya rapi, alur mudah dipahami, kebawa banget ke suasana permasalan keluarga Qiao yang penuh drama but realistic thou. BUT if you guys looking for a heavy romance between the MC this is not the drama BUT AGAIN aku jamin tiap scene FL ML itu bikin baper guys (and this is HE) sebagai penikmat romance tipis tipis ya suka bgt mestinya.

It is an extremely beautiful story

At first I didn't really understand what it was about, but as I moved forward I realized what it was about. This story is beautiful, it shows you many facets: hate, love, pain, everything, if you feel the same. It makes you cry but it's worth it. It's the first time I've seen a Chinese or Asian series that talks about AIDS or HIV. The pain makes you feel a lot. Everyone suffers differently. I feel sorry for the older sister of the The protagonist suffered as a child and all the blame lies with her grandparents. The cousin also gave her an impossible love. If he wasn't brave, he wouldn't have had to do that. I still dislike those who They defend the cousin, he's like an idiot, he left her alone and pretends to suffer, he was going to continue his life as if nothing had happened, if the protagonist hadn't brought the whole truth to light, it shows you the machismo that exists in rural places not only in China in many places the same thing happens this story gives you a great learning it doesn't matter that we should not judge people without first knowing them I hope that at least give the series a happy ending
