The best 2026 TV series for sure

I am positive come this December 2026, this series will most likely receive the WeTV Award for best TV series of the year.
This series has history, culture, art, comedy and drama. The full cast of mature actors and of course young and children actors is amazing. What a production, even for non-Chinese to understand and to watch the evolution of Chinese opera is a gem.

Romantic Comedy

This is a sweet romantic comedy with some intrigue into the business world. The intrigue inside different companies makes it interesting to watch. I think anything with Tan Jian Ci is worth watching. He can play very dramatic roles and be a very funny comedian as well. This is a light series and is a nice break when watching other series.

Romantic comedy/drama

This series starts out with a lot of comedy, then it brings in some light drama. The cast is great, this is a good story. By the middle of the series the lawyers deal with some cases, which is just not what I enjoy. Overall it is a great series. I just did not finish the series as the conclusion seems to be before the ending.

Political intrigue

This is a drama with political intrigue. Yes, there are 43 episodes, but I watched them all until the last one. Usually with so many episodes the story get tiring after 24 episodes but this one is well done. There is no humour, just drama with a light romantic story. There is enough intrigue in the storyline to keep me watching until the end.

Emotional drama

With Tan Jian Ci, again a great storyline, amazing emotional drama that captures the heart. This is so well done, protecting the weak, and disadvantaged population as a goal. It is nice that it is a movie and not a series. All was well said in less than 2 hours.
I usually watch most of Tan Jian Ci's series and as always this one is no exception, he takes on serious roles as well as comedy.

Fantasy , Murder Mystery, Espionage & Comedy

I started watching this series because of the cast. I usually don't like fantasy series but I can make some exceptions when the story is captivating. This series has a mix of fantasy, espionage, murder mystery and some great comedy from one of the actors that makes it funny. The story is good if you explain it as political intrigue inside and outside a country.
I did fast forward a lot of this series as it seems to be going on slow motion.

This is a continual drama series

A drama series with an amazing cast of actors. If you are expecting a romantic comedy, this is not it. This is a drama series with continual woes to the main lead. It is very well done, and the storyline is also very educational. Of course if we want to see some romance between the main leads this is not happening soon enough.

Sweet romantic series

This is a sweet, romantic comedy. If you are learning Mandarin this is perfect. There seems to be some "fantasy" during this series but it will all make sense at the end of the last episode. I appreciated the relax theme. The actors are well known and surprisingly different from the main leads usual series choice.
Worth watching for entertainment.

Hilarious

A funny, simple family comedy worth watching. If you just want to laugh out loud, relax, this is the series. With some of the most famous Chinese actors, they developed the funniest characters.
Like many C-dramas, the first half is very funny and then the 2nd half of the series becomes a drama, but I have to say a well done drama.

One of the best historical dramas

This has to be one of the best historical dramas. I also read up on the true historical characters and it was all correct.
The events take place before the 1911 Chinese revolution.
Some unknown main actors to me but such good storyline, and performances.
A 10 star for sure and a must watch

Period Political Drama

This is a Period Political drama, with of course some romantic relationships. I found that 40 episodes is too long. Could have ended at 30 episodes. The story is good, I just found too much inside family jealousy drama. There is some humour. I enjoyed watching this series and all the actors did a great job.

Sweet, adorable and the landscape alone makes it worth watching

I enjoyed every episode of this series. Actors I didn't know previously to watching this show. It is an adorable and sweet story filled with emotions. The landscape alone makes it worth watching as it made me see some of the barren wilderness, I may never get to see in my lifetime. This is a must watch for anyone especially listening to the different languages spoken throughout the episodes.

Sweet youth romance

This was a sweet youth clean romance. Nice to see a movie that brings all the right story in only 100 minutes.
This series does not have any drama and jealous friends. It was just perfect for a quiet evening. Sometimes series are too long and have comedy mixed with drama but this length was just perfect.

Romantic drama with family feuds

I truly appreciate the three main leads as they are fantastic actors. This is a drama more than a comedy. There is a lot of family feuds and plotting against each other, and at time difficult to watch. I did fast forward many of the family feud episodes.
Personal choice is important when writing reviews as I personally like light romantic comedies of political dramas.

Drama series with great cast

Drama series, I did hope for a different ending. The cast is well known and worked well together. I did fast forward some episode as I was hoping for more of a romantic series. I have watch many series with these main leads and of cours Johnny Huang is great in any series he is part of. I found 30 episodes a bit too long.
