Sweet and hollow as a marshmallow!

I am almost as disappointed as Mark was by how this drama turned out to be.

Now, there are two kinds of “no plot fluff” dramas. One that wraps you up in cozy, feel-good vibes and makes you feel warm. And then there is the other kind where it is so sugary, overloaded with sweetness and cliches, it gives you a sugar crash (metaphorical). This lands in the 2nd category for me.

The drama is light and fluffy, but it leans so far into cliche and surface-level storytelling that it forgets to offer anything remotely substantial. It started out promisingly with fun banter and a playful tone but quickly spiraled into repetitive campy comedy that we have already seen so many times.

Instead of staying in its fluff lane, the drama tried to juggle too many arcs with little to no payoff.
Romance? Check.
Jealousy arc? Check.
Family drama? Check.
Emotional growth? Well… it tried. Kind of. But none of it landed properly.

By the time we reached the last four episodes, it felt like someone had cut the script into pieces and taped them back in the wrong order. The editing was choppy and a bit incoherent.

Chemistry-wise, I will give credit where it’s due. The leads did have sparks and with a better script, I believe they could have delivered something memorable. But this script gave them so little to work with.
Still, their playful interactions and NC scenes were done tastefully well. Those moments did bring a silly smile to my face despite everything bland going on.

Another bright spot was Jimmy as Captain. He swooped in with such charm and even though he brought the classic jealous second lead trope, it somehow worked for me. He gave the show the energy it desperately needed.

I also enjoyed the OSTs here. Make me smile is my favourite from the lot!

In the end, this was a classic case of "style over substance", like a perfectly rich cake but when you cut into it, it's just air and disappointment.
Recommended If you are looking for fluff and fluff alone, this might scratch that itch. But don’t expect anything more than a cute smile and a lot of filler.

i dropped it i’m sorry

the show was good at the start, pretty much therapy it was so sweet and silly. until i’m not gonna lie it just got a bit boring… jimmy came in and there was a whole backstory and everytime there was a backstory i just could never be bothered to watch or care about it, it was obviously relevant but it felt like it was dragging a bit. i was on my phone for most of it because it was dragging on and on… tbf i saw a few clips and it turned out to be like quite sad or smth idrk, clearly i had dropped it by then. i’ve got no idea if i’ll ever complete this but it’s really not appealing to me.

it was silly and fun until it just felt like jay kept changing his mind and confusing sant and sant was falling for him but kind of refused to accept it, it just felt like it was never gonna work out especially when jimmy came in… i mean someone can totally prove me wrong and reply and tell me that it gets better but ive had it dropped for so long now, i think i got to like ep 6, started ep 7… kind of tempted to maybe keep going but i think i’d rather just watch something else

i think markohm deserved a better story because i know full well that they’re both incredible actors with lots of chemistry. i love them still but this drama is just not doing it for me

Shallow, without substance and no direction....

This show was a fanservice for the fangirls. The story was shallow, Sant, the main, was a prick and Mark (the actor) was underutilized, because he can do much more. The show did not have a direction to be either a comedy or a drama. So they brought us the worst of both worlds. It was forced funny, the drama was short and resolved in two episodes.

There was nothing which is rememberable from the story. It was just meaningless without any substance. The actors did their best, but it's still not even a medicore show. The only plus point of course is their chemistry and intimate scenes, but that's almost a given by any GMMTV show.

So in essence it was not very bad, just shallow and forgetable. If you have to watch it, you can, but as usual I have no idea why there are so many high ratings.

Romantic Therapy indeed

I love the vibes and everything about this series
, it is really a romantic therapy that heals the heart.
So excited for the next episodes. Jay is handsome yet weird, but he dont give up on sant easily and even respected him if he don't want him, and as for sant he is such a cutie hardworking man, i love it so muchhh❤️❤️

sweet actors, not good writing (watch suggestions)

Overall: I really hope the actors get a better script next time. 12 episodes about 40 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI for U.S., Canada & Thailand? https://www.iq.com/play/lobrkfltic?lang=en_us&sh_pltf=4 and GMMTV's YouTube channel for everywhere else https://youtu.be/-sXShzisZTk?si=bdKzCuZhh_m6KlZf - both seem to be the same length.

Content Warnings: past death, grief, blood, manipulation

Watch Suggestions (to focus on the leads, reduce angst)
- watch episodes 1-3 (I don't have the energy to re-watch for timings but I think overall these episodes were good)
- episode 4 watch the beginning to 10:35 and 27:40-31:45
- episode 5 watch 25:30-29:40
- episode 6 watch 13-15:30 and 45:40-end
- episode 7 watch 14:45-21:35, 34:30-42:40 and 45:10-end
- episode 8 watch 29-30 and 37:30-end
- episode 9 watch 5:45-7:15, 13:25-14:33, 22:20-26:10, 31:15-33:20, 39:40-end
- episode 10 watch 15-17:55
- watch episode 11 (finale)

What I Liked
- a flirty/forthright protagonist
- supportive friend
- laughed at the "dancing"
- finale wrapped things up well and the cameo in episode 11

Room For Improvement
- tired tropes (i.e. too many kiss interruptions)
- slow pacing
- I didn't find most of the comedy funny and then it veered into serious/angsty territory with a very similar plot to a recent Taiwanese series
- the twist in episode 4
- love rival/jealousy for multiple episodes
- how characters pressured another character into forgiving his mom
- not remembering it in episode 9
- the plot with the side couple/characters, that they needed a man to fix their relationship
- the comedy sound effects didn't enhance the comedy
- (neutral) the dentist/client relationship, it didn't bother me

Good Dentist, Bad Result

The cast reads Mark, Ohm, Jimmy, Poon, View, and Khao. All skilled actors. What went wrong. Jimmy, Poon, View, and Khao filled their roles well. There was nothing to fault in their performances. Believable, not over the top and none onscreen more than they needed to be. Jimmy felt 100% comfortable in this role and was a joy to see. Poon has perfected the art of being sincere and clueless while being very cute. I can never get enough of him. So nothing to fault here.

Mark and Ohm. Sigh. They're great, but sadly, in most of this script, they're not great together. Mark proved the quality of an actor he can be with his versatility from Only Friends to High School Frenemy. Tho here it felt like he knew the lines, but the delivery was dead. He didn't connect well with the character he played. Ohm also did well with his roles in Last Twilight and Kidnap. Here, not so much. Personally, bar one time in the entire series, I felt nothing for him. They're chaotic and funny outside of the roles in real life. The connection is there, so they fit well as a couple. In the series, it comes across as two comedians trying to outdo the other's act. Then that leaves the script.

The idiotic, nonsensical script.
After a night where neither remembers what happened, they wake up in bed. There's no real shock factor. After deducing something may have happened, they're ready to jump right back in. Really. I have mixed feelings on his reason for becoming a dentist. His brother dies and he assumes the same dream, to make his mother happy. Questionable. Sant's mother abandons him. Yes, there is no other word for this. She leaves him by the dentist and disappears for years. Yes, she fell on hard times and took a while to recover. Once on her feet, what was the reason for no reconciliation with him? Pride? She watched him grow on the TV. Seriously! Where was his happy time? She comes back, and he is supposed to forgive. True to Thai logic, he forgives the years of trauma because his grandmother wishes for this before she dies. Then, grandma would have had to prepare to die with this unresolved. What unrealistic writing is this? They made her a monster and then tried to make her a saint. Kak proceeds to try to win over Yada, a confirmed girl lover. Who comes out to their family in a stage production? Apparently, here they do. Though the show is about a good dentist, there were times it felt like the 11 episode were more about dental health than a love story.

Don't get the wrong idea. There were times the humor did come through. Sant offers 'seconds' to encourage Jay to return home faster to which Jay promply turns around and promises to 'make it quick, he still has time'.
JimmySea moment felt perfectly in place. Jay and Sant discussing openly everything that was an issue and understanding each other. Thankfully at the end, Jay and Sant finally felt like a real couple. Where ever they were, they would be happy.

I want more of MarkOhm. They're good together and with the right script, they could be magical.

Well that deteriorated quickly..

Why is it that this happens every time some sort of plot is introduced?

For the initial half of the series, the entire plot was 'I have a toothache and my dentist is really cute', but when they decided to bring in the plot points they set up in these episodes into full force in the next seven, it felt incredibly forced and rushed.

Not developing those storylines would've been worse, I can admit to that, but cramming ten of them into seven episodes while also maintaining the romance between the leads is a difficult line to walk and this is proof. There was just way too much going on for any of them to have any real substance and it felt like the creators recognized that as well, because at one point they tried to revert back to the cute dentist and cute patient plot, but by then, they were in it too deep.

The biggest faux pas though, was this silly game of fill - in - the - blank the series played with the audience. We are left to our own devices to fill in dialogues, scenes and sometimes even storylines, which is okay if it's a series that's all romance. In fact, that requires some room for interpretation.
Doing it when the plot is plot heavy? You're just creating a recipe for chaos.

It's truly a pity though, because that first half was near perfection for me. It was reminiscent of so many other BLs like 2gether and Fish Upon The Sky, and I was just enjoying the banter, and the cuteness, the romance.
All of a sudden at the mid way point, plot came in and ruined the party. From that point it never really picked up for me.

I will say Ohm and Mark have good chemistry, they did manage to showcase it despite the glaring discrepancies in the way their characters behaved at times and that chemistry pretty much carried the plot that refused to plot. Their acting was good, their comedic timing was good for the most part.. or rather they did their best with the given story. I can appreciate their efforts.

The second couple/love triangle was completely unnecessary. I love Poon and View, but their characters added very little to the story and so did their strange and confusing arc.
And Captain.. my boy Jimmy deserved better writing for his character because what was that? Instigator of jealousy.. that's it.
Most of the supporting characters added no real substance to the story honestly and that is truly one of the most disappointing aspects of this.

Even with all that I thought they could've done better, this was a decent watch. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I can't help but think about just how much potential it had. To be a simple and sweet love story. It was just that, but also had so much more going on that it didn't need. And I would've gladly taken just a simple and sweet love story.

so cute what??

only one episode in and it's already fantastic lmao. I really like the acting and the budget and they seemingly put a bunch of effort into this, and we're JUST one episode in😭.

I can't say anything bad about it.. Though I'll rate it 9.5 for now cause I wonder how it'll go after this! They really took the romantic therapy thing tho seriously cause heck this is so funny and cute, the couples dynamic is so good.????? such a cute and fun series and the casting is just amazing, I have really high hopes for this and I hope it'll stay this good >_<
What a good comfort series for Friday after a long week of school lmao 😭

struggled through a sugar crash

The characters and their interactions were so cute. However, the story itself didn't really hold my attention until towards the latter end. While very cute and fluffy, it wasn't enough to keep me interested. It did gradually get better for me, but took over half the series to do so. If I disregard the beginning of the series, this would have been good. Unfortunately, it took me too long to get into it, so it ended up just being okay. I hope to see Mark and Ohm in another series as a pair, though.

[ --LIKES-- ]

✔ Cute.

✔ Very cute.

✔ Light, cute, and fluffy.

✔ Did I say cute, already?

✔ Story got more substance and became more engaging in the later half. Still cute, sweet, and funny.

[ --DISLIKES-- ]

✖ Too cute and not enough anything else. Overloaded on the sugar and I was struggling not to crash in the first 6-ish episodes.

✖ Didn't really like that they were pressuring Sant to make up with his mom. I get it, but I don't really like the approach.

✖ Easily could've cut this down to make this series shorter.

● NOTE
-------------------------------------------

I'll always conclude my review by saying that ratings and reviews is not really a indicator of whether you may enjoy something. We all have different criteria and standards. Don't let a bad rating, review, or comment discourage you from watching something. My advice will always be to give something a chance if the premise interests you, and only use the ratings/reviews to determine priority if you have a list, or if you're deciding if you want to continue it due to time limitations.

♥ Thanks for reading my review! Feel free to comment or hit me up if you want to discuss anything ♥

Sugar-Coated with No Edge

I know the boys were really bummed about the feedback, but this drama was just too sugary—I couldn’t swallow it. Sometimes it took me days to get back to it, and in the meantime, I found myself watching lame plots and low-effort dramas rather than continuing with Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist.

I do like them together. A lot. And honestly? Mark is the naughty one. Maybe it’s Only Friends talking through me, or maybe it’s just his eyes. I mean there’s this raw tension about him that I absolutely adore. But this sweet, squeaky-clean plot just washed all of that out. Both actors deserve something sharper, something with a bit more bite. And we’re seated for it.

I think the biggest issue was just a mismatch—it was the wrong drama for this pair. That’s it. It’s cozy, it’s safe, and even the short sad moments didn’t sharpen the edges. It’s “comfortable” to the point where it’s a great one to fall asleep to. And that’s not always a compliment.

Unfortunately, this one wasn’t the best choice for them. But I’ll be waiting for the next one—I cannot wait.

Went in one ear and out the other..

I feel it did start on the right foot and had a smart editing, but somewhere along the way they lost it with non substantial moments and plotlines that didn't develop or evolved the characters to make them multidimensional. And it's damn shame, because close to the end, this series showed what this drama could have been if it had better writing. It actually gave me one of the best and most heartbreaking back stories I've ever seen in a bl drama. I can't help but praise Mark for his performance as well. He is an A-class actor that managed to shine even in a series as this one. Don't get me wrong, this show was cute and I loved Mark and Ohm's chemistry, but if it actually focused on properly building up its characters and had less episodes, this would have turned into a brilliant mini series.

As for the side story, it was the biggest mess. It offered absolutely nothing. It was frustrating and complicated, but not complex or deep in any way. It took unnecessary time and space.

I will recommend it to people who just want something cute to pass their time, but for those who aren't interested, episode 10 alone will pull at your heartstrings. It can actually stand as an episode of its own and if I could rate it individually, it would get almost a perfect score from all aspects.
