OMG, why is this crap produced and this crap liked?
First, there was no magic to this show whatsoever. It was so over the top that, it was cringe² ... to begin a relationship with lies is never a good start. That the other partner knew it was a lie and did nothing to not let it spiral out of control was the cherry on top. Thai writers have neither imagination nor a glimpse of real life. The magic stones confused me in the beginning, why is there glowing and so on, when they don't do anything with it? Why do they use stones at all? Did they have any relevance in this series? Why are Ritt's phrophecies accurate when he has no clue at all... Questions the writers never asked. To make Ritt a more or less alcoholic by his friend is also nothing what I would decribe as "fine". It's irresponsible in my book.
Edit: I guess I have to rant a bit more... The mother of the soon to be idol: Typical mom, projecting and forcing her son to be what she never could and then a 180° turn, yes, I understand you - WTF? There was no development, no struggle for herselves, she just turned and everything was fine. I call Bullshit, when I see it.
I could rant a lot about this show, but I have better things to do. It was part of the crap thai BL april/may line-up which could never have been produced and nobody with a working brain would miss them. And yes, the haters are going to tell me, that I assume that everyone liking it, has no working brain - and yes, that's true. If you like it, then there is something wrong with you 🤣 But that is only my opinion, not a fact.
Besides some pretty framed pictures this show has nothing to go for it, also visual the two couples are quite similar especially with the tall guys. There is of course some f*cking because the fans expect this, but the whole thing was just stupid. If you are limited in time, don't bother with this show and if you have time, find something else to watch, maybe a series which has nothing to do with BL at all...

good intimacy with draggy poor communication/mopping ep 7 and after (watch suggestions)
Overall: I rated this much higher before episodes 7 and after. 10 episodes about 45 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/magic-move-episode-1-1akg1uvb3g4?lang=en_us and Moonlight Glow YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEhCS-4vUKl-Dbe6cHsOnTLjDVWWNkKmC&si=tEQJiU6q7MqvpzcoContent Warnings: manipulation, blackmail, held against will, violence, self harm, blood, death, grief
Watch Suggestions:
- watch episodes 1-6
- episode 8 watch 26-38:20
- skip episode 9
- episode 10 watch 12:55-16:20 and 36:20-end (including the extra scene after the initial end credits)
What I Liked
- it was funny how he got into fortune telling (though he's going to need to slow down lol)
- the dream in episode 1
- intimacy
Room For Improvement
- what the writers did to a character in episode 9
- multiple main characters annoyed me. Who needs enemies with "friends" like those (bartender dude was fine turning his best friend into an alcoholic). Itt knew he was hurting Rit by not saying he knew also did the "I can explain" and never explained. Rit also lied and then somehow thought all the actions/feelings they experienced were false? And I cannot believe he did that AT A FUNERAL
- the finale a character apologized for manipulation by more manipulation lmao and they reconciled at 39 minutes...of a 46 minute episode!
- constant comedy sound effects

Adorable, creative, and Exactly what I wanted
Episode one Of Magic move was everything I didn’t know I needed in a series. It has such a cute “meet cute” With the elevator, jerking and It causing an accidental forehead kiss. Not to mention, I think it is a fun premise to have runes in a series. I know from the trailer we’re still going to get like tarot cards and stuff we normally don’t see runes. Although I will say if the only way he’s gonna be able to “tell ppls Fortune” Is to get drunk he is definitely gonna end up with liver problems.
Either way, I thought this was adorable and clearly it’s also going to get spicy, if his imagination is to tell us anything.
I’m really looking forward to more

A way to waste time on something irritating
This mess finally ended 😭 and honestly, i still don't know why I stuck around,it was boring, overcrowded with characters, and packed with storylines that went nowhere.Rit spent half the series deceiving everyone, then the other half crying because he got deceived himself... the irony, and Itt somehow managed to be just as irritating.,after ritt giving that whole speech about fortune telling, he exposed himand really reduced an entire thesis to a love confession? Be serious.
Pure and Pitcha were cute, I guess, but even they couldn't save how dull everything felt. Overall, just lazy writing, weak character work, and a plot that kept going in circles. If you're looking to waste your time, this is definitely an option.

A relationship built on lies & manipulation
The whole plot of this series revolves around lies and manipulation, with a whole lot of fortune-telling and feng shui overlaying it.I'm not going to say this series is a waste of time, but I will say that it was incredibly disappointing. I'll go into more detail later, but the writing for this series is so flimsy that I'm convinced that this was the screenwriter's first time writing a script.
THINGS I LIKED
* The acting was great. It was a lot of these actors' first role, and they honestly killed it. Sadly, good acting can only save a show so much.
* The only part of the plot I liked was when Ritt didn't get back together with Itt just because he got hurt trying to "save" him. That happens way too many times in drama series, and sometimes it's fine to do that, but like in this series, it made sense for Ritt not to forgive him because at this point every step of their romance has been built on lies and manipulation, and Itt risking himself doesn't solve those issues.
* Using rune stones for fortune-telling is different.
* NC scenes were surprisingly okay. The actors have good chemistry together.
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE
(90% of these things can be chalked up to lazy writing)
* The actors for Pure and Itt looked so much alike that I got them confused a couple of times. Not for a few seconds either, but sometimes minutes. This was probably just a me problem, but it was still annoying.
* Someone needs to tell the writers that Fortune-telling and Feng Shui can not be a person's entire personality.
* Even if you love someone, you shouldn't pretend to be someone you're not just to be with them. Ritt has the excuse that he was drunk and not thinking clearly when he told the lie, but he should have cleared things up as soon as he got sober.
* Was Pure trying to turn Ritt into an alcoholic? He was drinking so much that I have no idea how he remembered anything. Honestly, this was a small example of lazy writing because he really shouldn't have been able to remember everything.
* Pure honestly wasn't a good friend.
* Can we go back to the time when, if a character wanted to pretend to have beaten or kidnapped someone, they have real footage or at least have made it so the said person is busy and unable to answer the phone? Or manipulate the person to the location to falsify evidence against them? I've only watched a couple of series where they pull this "it was faked with AI" bullshit, and yes, it shows the dangers of AI, but at the same time you can't rely solely on that to move the plot forward. It just makes the characters look stupid for falling for it, and in this case also Pure for thinking Itt is pulling a "Ritt was kidnapped" scheme to what? Make up with Ritt? Does that make any sense at all? This whole scene was just to deal with a blackmailer that honestly played such a small role in the story that he could have been written out completely, and they could have just had Ritt's guilt slowly eating at him until he couldn't take lying anymore, only to then discover that everyone around him had been lying to him.
* Ritt has no right to play the victim after learning that Itt knew he was lying the whole time. He had no reason to snap like that. He should have just said sorry and explained why he did it. It's only after Pure reveals that he had known for a while, and that Itt and Phitcha had known the whole time, that he had the right to be mad and hurt. Because let's be honest, Itt pretty much set him up to tell the lie in the first place and then manipulated things so that they had to have a fake marriage, live together, and go on a trip together. He also had everyone around him and Ritt in on the scheme as well. So to me, Itt was the worst of these two, and I honestly wouldn't have been surprised if they hadn't gotten back together.
* They showed the same scenes from Ritt and Itt's past multiple times with little added.
* They had Itt say at the end that he wanted to start over without any lies between them when he manipulated things to get Ritt to the event in the first place. At this point, it felt like Ritt gave in to get Itt to stop, more than him being willing to give them another try. At this point, basically their whole relationship had been built on a lie, so how do you know when the lying stops? Itt's a red flag & everyone is color blind.
* LAZY WRITING! Everything written above for starters, but also the characters have no real personality or growth. The story focused so much on the fortune-telling and Feng Shui that there wasn't any room for either. They decided to add these things instead of building up good foreshadowing or tension, and defaulted to "let's just use AI". We only see Ritt struggling internally about his lie for the first couple of episodes and then again after he's being blackmailed. If Ritt's victim speech had to happen, they could have used better dialogue instead of making the audience completely unable to be sympathetic toward him. Some sympathy was possible because Itt did a lot more lying and manipulating. Itt supposedly tried to get Ritt to tell him the truth when really, after their first date, he didn't at all. Itt also used the excuse that he wasn't brave enough to hit on Ritt, but for some reason he had no problem lying to and manipulating him into dating him.
This series had potential.

Magic Move — A Title That Promises Magic but Delivers Melodrama
The biggest problem with Magic Move starts before the first episode even begins: the title. It sounds like a fun romantic comedy full of charm, misunderstandings, and light-hearted moments. That's exactly what I expected. Instead, what I got was an increasingly dramatic story built on lies, manipulation, and emotional conflicts that became harder and harder to believe. The first episodes actually made me optimistic. The premise was entertaining enough to suggest an enjoyable romance, and I thought the series was setting up something original. Unfortunately, the further the story progressed, the more exaggerated everything became. Instead of developing naturally, the plot kept introducing new twists that felt increasingly forced until it eventually lost me completely.
The character decisions didn't help either.
The biggest example is the central conflict surrounding the lie. When the truth finally comes out, the character reacts as though everyone has betrayed him simply because they already knew and decided to play along. I understand the embarrassment and the humiliation. Those feelings are perfectly believable. What I couldn't accept was the way he immediately positioned himself as the victim. Instead of feeling sympathy, I mostly found the reaction frustrating because the situation had become the direct consequence of his own decisions.
The cast is probably the strongest aspect of the drama. The actors do a respectable job with the material they're given, and I never felt that the performances were the reason the story failed. Several emotional scenes are convincing, but good acting can only do so much when the script keeps pushing the characters into increasingly implausible situations.
Technically, the production is perfectly fine. The direction is competent, the cinematography is pleasant, and nothing feels particularly cheap. My disappointment comes almost entirely from the writing. The drama constantly asks the audience to accept increasingly unrealistic developments without earning them emotionally.
Final Thought
Magic Move started with an idea that genuinely interested me, but it gradually disappeared beneath melodrama and increasingly far-fetched plot developments. I honestly think the title is misleading because there is very little magic and very little fun. A title closer to "The Magic of Lies and Manipulation" would probably have prepared me much better for what this drama actually wanted to be.

Pretty Good show
The show was pretty good. This is the casts first series and they all did very well for their first show. Honestly the acting was great from everyone. There were some flaws with the plot towards the end, but overall I really enjoyed it.If you are looking for a show to binge this is a good one. A little cringe at times but funny nonetheless. It has some drama as well towards the end but it gets resolved pretty well.
I would definitely recommend watching it if you are looking for something fun.

Could have been but the ending
Magic move was a good idea with not bad actors. The topic, the concept of childhood misunderstandings, lies kept out of fear, it could have made so much. And I must admit, many times in the middle part I really enjoyed the acting and the story. But alas, both the frist and the last two episode were really weak, the start weak and the end outright bad. I am probably biased because the actor of Ritt is really strongly my type, lol, so I try to ignore that. ^^The start was awkward; not really bad, but weird and with episode 3 I really began to enjoy what was going on. So episodes 3 - 8 I would have given an 7.5 out of 10. Good, even though not a breakthrough or all time hit. But then this ending. The stern mother changing without any real development, Ritt taking this lies so seriously, but the actor did not really well enough express this drama of his character as he should have in the last two episodes with way too much aimless lingering, and not strong emotions shown. Given the drama of breaking of a love the two MCs had since childhood, both really underplayed the dramatic gravitas of what was going on.
On the other hand I cannot agree with other critics saying Ritt's friend was too evil or Itthi, even though it wasn't nice, I didn't feel it was some super serious betrayal. Sure, if I had been Ritt I would be down my friends had withheld that from me. But isn't there something like trust the feeling of love? No one involved had any reasons to make a fool of Ritt, and he should have accepted that OR either making a really fall into a strong felt darkness - and the ending had neither. So we had the drama ending that felt like "oh well let's suffer for 2-3 episodes". They were not really good actors, and I hope they get some acting lessons, for I am not that nasty to wish an end for their career. Well since we will see Deam/Ritt paired with someone else in "Art Adore En", we can see what he learned or maybe was just held back by directing. Who can say.
I did not regret watching it once, it was an okay series with some serious letdowns and especially the consolation was rushed like an entire episode had been cut showing the hard getting together. Each character should have seriously shown more suffering given the situation they all had put themselves into, and we had to guess with they a bit too stoic faces.
With a good middle part but a weak start and a horrible displayed ending, I can even wishing to see the Ritt actor again give no more than a
5.5/10

Ehhhhhh
Man, this one felt like it had so much potential for the lighter side of BL, but I ended up liking the second couple much more than the first, especially because of Ritt. GOD he was a pain. He started the whole situation but when he found out Itthi knew about everything, HE was mad about the lying? Can you say hypocrite??And then we get 3 episodes of NOTHING. And then it just ends??? They were hot and heavy during the first half of the series and then...NOTHING? After 3 episodes of not being together? That was just stupid.

Ruined momentum
Discovering this series and hearing Boy Sompob's voice right from the start felt magical. I really liked how it began. It gave us that fluffy, green-flag top that was impossible to resist. And can we talk about the cast? The main couple, the second couple... honestly, everyone was handsome! However, somewhere in the middle, NC scenes started becoming a major part of the series. Again, I don't hate NC scenes, but I feel they should happen at the right timing. As for the plot, the blackmailing, kidnapping, and all that, it just felt a little off for me. I'm sorry. The characters also didn't seem to have much development. Until the very end, they kept dragging themselves around with the same toxic traits. Lol.
Last but not least, that dance they were practicing. I swear they were practicing the same dance throughout the entire series. 😂

Almost Had a Tantrum
It was a silly but fine series in the beginning: your typical university boy with a platonic crush on another. The name 'Magic Move' itself has no meaning, and the series didn't have any magical elements at all. Just some fortunetelling and tarot reading, which feels like they were just added to the script to make it different or to give it a certain vibe.I was still happily binging it. The couple was happy and living in the moment, but the side couple literally stole the show. Their talks were meaningful, their scenes were beautiful, and they really had a thing and a 'story' unlike the supposed main couple.
I tried ,and really wanted to, keep going for the side couple, but after watching the preview for the 9th episode, I decided that it's just not worth it. When you make a mistake and the person you wronged stays silent despite knowing about it, that is called being forgiving, not playing tricks. And even if he sees it as a trick, his reaction made it hard for me to sympathize with him. I mean, what's the difference between you and him? He just gave you a taste of your own medicine by playing along with your trick. I wouldn't even call it tricking someone if it leads to what you truly wish for. You were so happy, just feeling guilty because of your own lie, but instead of appreciating his forgiveness, you chose to ruin everything.
He even ruined his relationship with his best friend by blaming him along with everyone else like a spoiled child, and they were begging for forgiveness. That was the biggest thing that pissed me off. This post was more like a 'why I dropped this series' explanation instead of a review, but I still hope that it helps you because I think this aspect is the most important thing to know before even starting it.

Actors work hard
The new drama "Magic Move" is the best drama ever.....Even though people critize the series as negative (-2) and find it boring and think that the sound editing is iritating....I love the series because I can feel how shy the ml couple is to act on the screen I love the effort they put in to the series...My favroute part is in Magic Move Ep 3 where they started kissing in the cart the next second they where searching for there clothes...Thank Thailand for making a Twainees Bl that makes me laugh and scream out of happiness, so to the people who likes to break of bl dramas I am warning you as many negative comments there is as many positive comments I'll post; why? Because this series sound editing makes me think of "Daung With You" my very first best loving TwBl.So don't break of actors but rather build up not the other way around thanks to people who likes to give negative comments later make actors stress and either retire or commit su****e and bl couple who are perfect toghter either break up or they dissapear from the screen because they don't whant to see negative comments. Because negative saying about you break you off - I know what I'm talking about and wasn't it for God, I either would have c*t or b***en my wrists to d** but He always made it so that there always was an urgent matter so that I didn't have the chance. I am going of topic, ain't I? Any who all I whant to say is let's help each other to build up not break down.
