Sae Byeok messed up

The story concept is actually quite interesting, but the overall build-up feels messy and not well-developed. One of the biggest issues is the lack of chemistry between the main couple.

Ha Neol does a decent job expressing his emotions—his performance feels natural and convincing. However, Sae Byeok falls short in comparison. His acting feels dull, with very limited facial expressions, which makes it hard to connect with his character. Because of this, the emotional depth between the two leads doesn’t really come through, and their chemistry ends up feeling weak.

That said, since it’s a short drama, it’s still watchable if you’re just looking for something quick. But beyond that, there’s nothing particularly special about it.

Loved This Series

I know there are people who have complaints about this series, but I’m just not one of them. Although I suppose if I had to pick something the keeping track of what time. We were in was a little confusing but overall I loved this show. I thought it was just long enough . I loved all of the actors the main couple clearly, but even the supporting actors were all excellent. I thought the cinematography was beautiful. I thought the music surprisingly was very well done especially in the NC scenes this light piano music was always very lovely. I just thought it was great.

I wish there was more Korean BL of this caliber. Just loved it. I think it was a gorgeous love story even with the sadness of some of the plot points, which I will leave out because I finished it on fast track so lots of people haven’t seen it yet. In any event, I would rewatch this absolutely, and while I’m sure there are some valid criticisms, when I finish a show and my first thought is wow that was great then I want to give it a review right away. Kudos to the main actors, really really enjoyed them.

Never Forget This Story

I found the story’s premise irresistible. It had me hooked from the beginning. Usually, amnesia plots are a sign of weak plot development and thus ripe for confusion and boredom. However, this one was intriguing and held my attention. Why? Because everything about it was so unexpected, including how interesting the characters turned out to be. Additionally, the acting of the protagonists was tight and quite believable. Because they did not display the usual characteristics of individuals in the positions that were supposedly representing, that is what made it so fascinating for me. These two gave new meaning to being in a life-long commitment to one another. I loved the strength and symmetry of their love story. This is a very, very good BL.

I loved it, it’s thoroughly entertaining.

Different. Unique and timely.
With so many stalkers harassing actors nowadays—especially in China and Korea—this is undoubtedly a very current theme, one that truly deserves attention.

More than just a BL, it’s a sweet story of enduring love.

Although classified as a Thai drama, it was entirely produced in Korea.

The main leads are newcomers to the entertainment industry, but don’t be fooled. Their performances are outstanding, delivering both tender and daring moments that could easily rival seasoned actors. The kisses were absolutely delightful—I found myself replaying those scenes more than once. Pure indulgence, honestly.

I watched all the episodes back-to-back. Following the advice of a fellow MDL user I trust, since the drama relies heavily on flashbacks, it’s easier to follow when you don’t leave long gaps between episodes.

If you’re unsure whether it’s worth your time, I can confidently say: it’s thoroughly entertaining.

Highly recommended—. I loved it.

The low ratings confuse me

I don't write a lot of reviews but I saw many saying the acting and storyline weren't good. That's so not true...it's just a show where you have to pay attention. It's not a long show, so they tell the story fast, jump around a lot, don't give strong indication if it's current or past and despite that they expect the audience to follow along at the same pace. Which is obviously hard for some people...Many want a story spoonfed to them and if it jumps around to much they get frustrated when they can't keep up and instead of blaming themselves they blame the actors, storyline or writing...in this case for the budget they had, in the time alotted, they did an amazing job. The chemistry was off the charts, which definitely helps, but it can't save a show from bad acting or storyline, I 100% agree with those people. But I disagree that was the case here. From beginning to end, this story keeps you watching and the actors did an amazing job and the writing did what it was supposed to, told you a story.

I had to write this

I generally don’t review, I only comment on this site. I saw what the reviews were trending and I had to even out its score. I don’t know where they found these two guys, but I was so completely wrapped up in the believability and the chemistry between these two guys, that I have it in my minds schedule to watch it again. I gotta tell you that I was a little confused by the storytelling, and that it was a little bit convoluted, broken, and hard to follow. If however, you make a little effort and backtrack a little from time to time, you’ll be glad that you did. One of the leads had sort of a consistent facial expression, but when you look like him, I think you can get away with it. I mean, he got away with it! I would love to see these guys in another show. Hey, don’t get me wrong. I think this kind of plot device is a little played out. I think the whole forgetting 10 years of your life is a little unbelievable, maybe it happens but I think it mostly happens to 90-year-old people after a stroke and not hot 28-year-old Korean guys. People can beat me up over this all they want, but one of the things that I did like about this was the minimal use of makeup. I understand why K-pop bands wear makeup, but I don’t understand why they put these guys in make up when they’re supposed to be depleting real people, so hate on that all you want. These two guys were beautiful and I’m sure they were wearing stage makeup, but they weren’t overly done and I felt that it made the show a lot more comfortable to watch.

a KBL that rivals The Eighth Sense

As someone who has seen over 200 BL's, I truly don't understand the hate for this drama. Immediately I fell in love with the beautiful cinematography and the stellar performance by both actors. The emotional depth portrayed throughout the series was phenomenal and I loved the way that the audience remembered with him as his memories came back. Was it a perfect series? No series is perfect. However, I truly believe that it was on par with series such as Hwang Daseul's works and The Eighth Sense. The subtlety in each emotion portrayed was a great parallel for the anxiousness throughout the drama.

*a note to those who think this drama was not worth the time that you spent watching it, please keep those comments to yourself as I would like this director to keep making more dramas and have funding for them and not get ruined by one star ratings XD

Spicy but lacked taste

This KBL had an interesting plot and had all the things to make it a good series but it lack certain elements to make it good. First of all, the acting. Gawd that was the most awful acting that I have seen in a while. Ja Woon needs to stop serving face and serve acting lessons first. He literally had the same expression on his face the entire series that it was starting to become funny and the dialog delivery was just as awful. It was so obviously when it was time for an emotional scene. It made me uncomfortable rather than sad. Next, the plot. This series had a interesting premise imo. But the execution was so awful. Especially in the last few episodes. Because tell how does it make sense for Sae Byeok to just put these 'secrete letters' that ruin their relation in the first place to put it out in the open. Mind you this has happened two times. Also the force angst of the main characters. Tell me what will Ha Neul achieve by self isolating himself. He wasn't even threatened or had any misunderstandings. He just did that for shits and giggles. The stalker wasn't even out mind you. She was in jail. So yeah they could have gone about it in a better way. Now the chemistry was good. I like the NC scenes. I am always happy to see good kisses and not kisses where it seems like two dead fishes are making out. So yeah. Ultimately, I only stayed cuz of that. If not this would have gotten an even worse rating from me.

Unforgettable highlight of Korean BL

The Korean BL Series „Never forget your Enemy“ (a mysterious title if ever there was one), ended today with the release of the final two episodes seven and eight. Like many Korean (and Japanese) BL series, it was more condensed and shorter with each Episode around 35 minutes, unlike many Thai BL series often going to 10, 12 episodes sometimes up to an hour.

So let's sum up what we got: a very mysterious beginning with one of the main characters having amnesia, granted not the most novel plot mechanism – but then I rather have a proven plot concept worked out well, than something novel that in the end doesn't add up together. We have two stunningly good looking main actors in the love story, as we are used from Korean productions, and something of a melancholic tone of a slow development towards the usual dramatic revelation in the seventh, penultimate episode. I admit I had tried to do my detective works with the hints, and still managed to be surprised. The episodes were all well made each in itself and the story as a whole was just a perfect story in my book.

It is a visual feast of great cinematography, some of the cool Korean fashion, being daring to shed some light on the ups and downs of the "Idol Industry", and good non-intrusive background music.

One of my personal highlights: we saw REALLY one of the possibly best kissing scenes I can remember ever have seen down to the very sensitive NC scenes, which never were overdoing, but clearly showing all the passion without feeling like the cringe-fest the likes of Peach-something-something. Both actor displayed their emotions well, and even the various flashbacks being non-intrusive, but gave us more and more layers revealed about the relationship between Haneul and Saebyeok. Both actors had their first Lead Characters in this BL series, with little known about them before. As such, they left a stunning impression to me.

I won't say more about the ending, save that it is all worth watching to the end. I was satisfied, with nothing negative to say, other than I wish there had been one more episode. Being as such a perfect love drama and thoroughly having been well entertained, I am confidently giving it a

Started out promising and went downhill from there

Where do I start with this. Honestly the first episode was good! One of our main characters, Ki Ha Neul, wakes up and realizes he has amnesia. He has no recollection of the past 10 years. The guy he remembers as his rival/sometimes friend in high school (our other main lead, Yeo Sae Byeok), is claiming to be his long term boyfriend.

However, it just goes downhill from here. It’s a convoluted plot of flashbacks. There are too many storylines happening at once. I will say the NC scenes are really good. Which, considering the rest of the drama is a hot mess, is surprising.

And for my final rant, Yeo Sae Byeok is a horrible person and should have ended up alone! *SPOILERS AHEAD* This man (Sae Byeok) kept his stalkers threatening letters hidden away and never told anyone. This results in his Dad being killed (protecting his sons boyfriend). So then his boyfriend, Ki Ha Neul, feels extremely guilty and blames himself for the Dads death. Later on, Ki Ha Neul gets run over, not once, but TWICE, because of this stalker. Ruining his lifelong dream of playing tennis.

And this was all caused because Yeo Sae Byeok didn’t want to go the police? Was he too lazy? It was never explained.

OH OH AND LETS NOT FORGET, in high school Sae Byeok stole Ki Ha Neuls girlfriend away because he was jealous. God Forbid that man have anything good in his life.

I would have been much happier if Ki Ha Neul ended up with the guy that ran him over with the car. At least he felt guilty and tried to redeem himself.

I did not expect that, my bad for not reading the synopsis. BUT I was positively (?) surprised.

I did expect more of a love/hate relationship (like before they got to be together), but they show me how they live as a couple, after a few years. Especially as an idol and his hidden boyfriend.

They were cute together and I loved how the main character tried to accept the fact he liked his enemy, it was funny.

Not what i expected!

This was a great story, it was somtething completely else then i expected when it started.
Unfortunatly the time jumps were not done very clear, so that was a bit confusing.
The visuals were stunning and the music beautiful.

The actors did a good job, the moments with emotions were done very good. Unfortunatly the "normal" acting felt a bit flat, you could see they still need a bit more experience in acting to grow and act natural troughout the whole drama.
The mains had amazing chemistry and kisses and the intimate scenes were great too. They show quite a bit, but not too much. The last intimate scene was filmed so beautiful.
