Hospital Playlist and Doctor Stranger are similar because both are Korean medical dramas centered on doctors and hospital life. Both series feature skilled medical professionals who face challenging cases, perform surgeries, and work under intense pressure in the hospital.

The two dramas also explore the doctors' personal lives, relationships, friendships, and emotional struggles alongside their medical careers. Both feature talented doctors with different personalities and backgrounds, creating strong character dynamics within the hospital setting.

While Hospital Playlist focuses more on the everyday lives, friendship, and teamwork of five doctors, Doctor Stranger has a more intense story involving medical competition, romance, mystery, and political conflict. However, both dramas share the same core medical setting and provide engaging stories about doctors, patients, hospitals, surgeries, and the challenges of saving lives.

Even if the historical setting is different, both deal with politics, espionage and medical stuff. Different Dreams is about the Korean independence, while Doctor Stranger is about the relationship between North Korea and South Korea.

Both involve North and South Korea in conflict. Although there's no monarchy setting, it's very similar that involves melodramatic moments and a deep set conspiracy-kind of theme.

They both have Genius Doctors in it who are working to find someone they loved in the past. I think Doctor Stranger is a little better than Cross both in acting and plot. Definitely check it out if you haven't seen it already. Oh and Lee Jong Suk is in it, so theres that.

The two are similar in their consistent intensity, action, and impossible situations. Doctor Stranger is also nother Lee Jong Suk starring drama, and is also a medical drama, though the medical aspect is much more prevalent than in W.

The plots both involve Surgeons (althougn not heart but instead the brain) and North Korea.

They both feature doctors with special abilities who care about patients first and do whatever it takes to save their lives. They also are constantly up against out of touch bureaucrats looking for big profits. Both feature many “over-the-top” moments so you’ll need suspend your beliefs. In spite of that, the E.R. and O.R. portrayals are quite spot on. Doctor Stranger has some unique twists as well.

Both shows feature an extraordinary medically gifted surgeon protagonist who have unconventional methods of doing things abd expose corruption in their work place

A character comes « back to life » and lives near their loved one without him/her knowing it is actually his/her loved one (does it make sense?)

Both deals with north korean spies. And in both dramas the female lead has two options: either deceive her boyfriend and continue as a spy, either betray her boss and fight against the side she was.
