Boss & Me was a cute office-romance drama that, while mostly stereotypical, had a few unique aspects that made it stand out.

To break it down—What I liked:

+ Hans Zhang as Feng Teng. He wasn’t necessarily original (seemingly cold but actually warm-hearted and lonely CEO) but Hans Zhang played Feng Teng’s expressionless demeanor really well which helped make his character all the more loveable as he slowly became wrapped around Shan Shan’s finger.

+ How the relationship dynamics between a boss and a low-level employee were played out. I feel like a lot of dramas have tried to do this well, but none have quite hit the mark like Boss & Me. Shan Shan has to deal with a lot of pressure at work (surprise) but the way it is presented and her inner monologue/awkwardness around Feng Teng felt really real to me. Early on, her constant annoyance with Feng Teng was annoying and long-suffering but after we get into the real meat of the story and how she has to deal with the pressure of dating a CEO despite her low status was really great.

+ The reason Feng Teng likes Shan Shan is nothing special, and he recognizes that. In the beginning this actually annoyed me, since I was wondering why he liked her when she basically tried to avoid him at all costs and was never all that nice to him. However, later when asked that question he responds with “There is nothing special…but one things for sure, she can really eat.” I found that to be really endearing. Shan Shan did not have to stand out to him in any particular way…he just liked her because he liked her.

+ Feng Teng’s family background. It was very refreshing for once to not have squabbling family members plotting to take over the business or scheming mother’s trying to set their sons up. Feng Teng’s family was very supportive and genuine.

Which brings me to what I did not like:

+ Shan Shan. While there where times when I did really like her (in particular, pretty much just the middle of the drama)…in the beginning and in the end she was not my favorite person. A lot of the way she acted and reacted I could understand at first, but then became annoying once they were drug out. For example, in the beginning she is hesitant to be around Feng Teng. Totally get it, I would be intimidated and uncomfortable too…but as she gets to know him and even laughs with him…I did not understand how she could so forcibly try to stay away from him when he was going out of his way for her. It just made her seem very petty and self-righteous. In the end, I never really felt like she loved him all that much, while on the other hand I could see that Feng Teng loved her completely unconditionally.

+ Typical plot devices. Some of those a-typical designs to keep the plot going were used here and it was just angsty and annoying. Totally unlike the author who wrote the original novel’s other work Love O2O, which was disappointing.

+ No chemistry. Maybe it’s just because I didn’t really care for Shan Shan but I just did not feel any chemistry between her and Feng Teng. Whenever they kissed it was just okay…and I never felt that heart-pounding anticipation for them to get.together.already. They were still really cute at times, just had no special magnetic pull.

All in all, there were plenty of sweet moments and a good dose of realism at times that made this watchable for me, but I doubt I will go back for seconds.

The reason I love this drama is because how unimaginably relatable it is. It deals with so much just like in real life. This is the best part as in it is not solely based on just love or career but almost everything a person can relate to. The actors are perfect and there characterisation is so on point. Thumbs up to the director and the whole team :) 10/10

aka "shan shan comes to eat" which she does. A lot! & I love her for it. She is adorable, sweet & likeable. She was easy to root for, without being the dumb candy-girl a lot of dramas have. He is cold at first but genuinely cares for her, plus he's never mean to her. I find that with cold male leads, they often bring their counterpart down. Feng Teng never does, which was just icing on an already very sweet cupcake!

Their relationship is really fun to watch. I didn't care for his female friend who was in love with him, but the story needed some sort of conflict I guess. Besides that, most of their struggles felt real, their problems did make sense and together they were always a perfect match. It's definitely a palette cleanser, nothing too serious, but what a great drama to watch.

New favourite!

I just need to say... this drama is seriously my all time favorite c drama ever! To the point where I have re watched this at least 5 times, bought the book this drama was adapted off of, I even bought the subbed DVDs so I can watch it whenever I’d like!

The relationship between the main characters is so cute and innocent. I read some reviews slandering how the female lead is too “air headed / dumb”. I do not agree at all. In the situations she was placed in over and over again, she takes a step back in experience and seems as if she doesn’t understand what’s going on... because she doesn’t!! The way the male lead helps guide her and reassured her through the drama just makes my heart melt. There is drama to be had though!! The drama they face really brings the main leads down to earth to re-evaluate the love they have for each other.

The side characters of this drama were totally worth not skipping over! Ever piece of this drama has some new information and emotions. This drama can be taken as light hearted and silly at points, but at some other points things get serious and you will be taken for a ride. I definitely recommend this drama. I usually tell people who are new to the drama world the check this one out first!! Usually brings them right into this wonderful realm of dramas!

This is one of the cutest dramas in my opinion, simply because of the actions between the two main leads. I really loved how Feng Teng (guy main lead) displays his emotions and how he helps Xue Shan Shan (girl main lead) behind the scenes. To me, Zhang Han is my bias and he has never let me down whenever he is doing a drama. His actions can make you swoon, and that is one factor that helps make the drama so successful.

Xue Shan Shan displays her actions fervently and openly. However, she tends to overthink about things, which can lead to complications. The ending is satisfying overall. I wished that there was a season 2 but either way, without another season, it should satisfy you. Overall, love the acting and the interactions between the main and second leads as well.

Definitely a rewatch in my opinion! :)

I loved to boss me is the first drama I see and I liked it a lot, they recommended me, but we would be happy to see them getting married feng ten and shan shan since they went through difficulties at the end and I imagined the great party that his sister prepare pafra them and know if shan shan could get pregnant and know places finally it would not be possible that there was a second part even if brebe! to see what happened next I think he deserved this story continue a little more and see that his family accepted and blessed ... it has been many years but I would love ami and see a little more of this couple that in my opinion a very good work together could feel the chemistry between them we shudder with the scenes .. I would like that as other occasions I would include a continuation even if it was brebe .. I would like to see some history with these two characters that I was captivated. We will look forward to another fabulous work from you with these characters in another romantic story.
I feel that the end was very hurried to where it was, it was a text for what I think I deserved a few more chapters had to give even the story

I really like both main actor & actress, their chemistry is really good. Because of this drama, I fall in love with both of the actor & actress acting skill. Zanilia carry her role really well especially when she tried to motivated herself when she faces life challenges. This is a good thing to watch as life often have challenges but with her attitude it help to lighten the heart. Also I like the way when she chunk all the food into her mouth :) As for Han, he is good on controlling the emotion in the drama which is important; where I think this will bring the audience to go through every bit of the story line together. I enjoy watching male dominant role, as they would be childish.

p/s: I have watch this for 4 times and counting.

"They live happily ever after" ,first time I had seen this tagline in asian drama otherwise I had only seen this tagline in bollywood movie ending with this tag line. I always think why they don't show this tag line .After read this tagline it is ok they didn't show their wedding. This tagline make the compitition of the drama.

It is a good love story between a high class society boy and middle class society girl ,when they started dating , she didn't think about this such big gap ,for her only to cherish those moment when she spend time with him but the society make her think so that there is a such big gap between them but at the sametime she had confidence on her love that such things never swayed their love ...But human hearts once for while little shake and made her think about so much that she make her life miserable but support and trust of love make them cross all hurdles come in their way .So this story all about this ,their love life ,ups and down in their life .Above all a true understanding ,honesty ,trust and confidence on love make very thing just a piece of cake.
"All is well that's end well"....

Adorable female lead! Her appearance & characteristic that she portrayed well-matched with the novel! Superb sweet plot and watching her growing & standing firm on her shoes in the drama. Worth to watch :)

Male lead I okay....lucky this is one of my first C-drama I watch - so I have yet to feel bored of him. Latter on, I realised most of his roles in other drama is same. Rich & Businessman....his acting just plain after you watch 2-3 drama of him.

I think I watched the drama first then only book. Seeing Shan shan eating really making me wanna eat - especially the soup noodles.

This drama contains everything we like to read in webnovels. A cold aloof president having a noble sophisticated aura and a fluffy cute woman who loves to eat. Seriously I liked the personality of Feng teng, the male lead and shan shan. Plus the fact that a happy ending where shan shan changes for good. This has elements of poor woman coming from rural area and adapting to the city life.I have rewatched this drama over 10 times and I never get bored.❤
My all time favorite....add some goofiness and eating......plus with hans zhang being so handsome you will never get bored

First of all, I want to give a massive round of applause to the whole cast. Acting in this in this series is so natural, believable, and flawless. I am particularly impressed with Zhao Liying (Shan Shan) and Zhang Han (Feng Teng). Chemistry is overflowing between the two just the simple ways they look into each other eyes, little peck on the cheek, interactions and gestures are so captivating and, again, believable. When comparing the two Gu Man's series, I don't know if anyone feels the same way about Xiao Nai's awkward hand gestures and Wei Wei's weird expressions through out Love O2O series, there's nothing like that here. Zhang Han may not have dripping good look Yang Yang does, but, man, he can act. As for Zhao Liying, watching her character's transformation as the show progresses is simply divine.

For storyline, there're some distractions and, what I find, immature plots here and there. I understand why the scenes are there. But, I was not convinced with some of the plots. Overall, I feel this series is complete and provides satisfying ending. I absolutely love how, in order to match her man, Shan Shan gradually grows through hard working and facing unfortunate events head on with Feng Teng's support and understanding. Trust and Loyalty play an important part in their relationship, just how it should be in real life too.

Music is okay. But nothing to write home about.
I will definitely be looking into other series with the two main actor/actress.

This was my frist time watching a Chinese drama. I didn't think I would be able to differentiate the dialect since I don't speak any type of Asian language. I was very surprised how different the language sounded compared to Korean or Japanese language. It took me a little bit to get used to, and also they speak faster so I had to get used to reading the subtitles at a faster pace.

The drama was pretty interesting. It was a little slow on some parts but overall a good storyline. It was nice to see their relationship progress and see how steady and how much faith they had in each other.
