Favorite drama ever!!

I really enjoyed watching this drama so much that easily became my favorite drama to watch ever!
Even though this drama falls more on the melodrama or in the dramatic category, I still loved it so much. Do not watch it if you're expecting light romance, because with this one is hard to not cry your eyes out.
This drama starts during the present time where the main characters (He Yichen and Zhao Moshen) start recollecting their love story during college years ago up until the misunderstanding that caused them to break up and each go their separate ways. Honestly, the love story shown during their university days is very similar to a lot of dramas out there where the male lead is really smart with a cold appearance and the female lead isn't that smart and really bubbly. After they break up, that's where the storyline differs from the typical "sweethearts" drama.
In this drama, both He Yichen and Zhao Moshen are stuck in a love triangle, although they always loved each other in spite of the years that passed by. Due to these love triangles and the years spent apart, there's multiples misunderstanding that rises up during the plot but eventually, everything is cleared up.
I do recommend you to get some comfort food while watching this drama because you're gonna need it!

Simple plot, excellent execution

There's something about this drama that really appeals to me. I can't really pinpoint one thing exactly. Maybe it's the general feel of the drama. Their college life was so adorable but the bulk of the drama was set after the break up 7 years later. They've grown up with all this pain and yet, manage to end up together. And they continue to be epically sweet after they get together.

One thing, though, is that if anyone in real life actually did what He Yi Chen does around ep 14, the results would probably be catastrophic. Marrying someone while there are so many unsolved problems is usually not the best idea. Actually, a lot of things in the drama would probably not be a good idea in real life. Though, I did appreciate his advice near the end that time isn't the best way to test a relationship.

Anyway, I loved this drama to bits, despite its flaws. I've re-watched the whole series a good 4-5 times now. And thanks to this drama, I ended up being a huge fan of Wallace Chung. :)

After watching this, I didn't think I would rewatch it but here I am watching it the third time. With a plentiful of dramas to watch, I am not short on dramas to watch but I keep coming back to this one because of the unconditional trust and love the male leads has for the female lead. With all the factors, circumstances, confusion and even a third wheel threatening to tear them apart, their relationship persisted based on each other's understanding and trust for one another.

While I was watching, I felt that it was draggy and didn't understand it but now watching it the third time, I can understand the anticipation yet dread the characters were feeling when meeting each other again the first time in seven years. They still longed for each other but both evaded one another. Good thing their old friend used an excuse of suing her to link them back together. At first I felt she was a terrible friend to sue her old roommate but later realized she did it for her good. He says I don't want to be entangled with you, but in reality he was using the chance to see her.

I didn't realize it but I really love this drama a lot and I keep enjoying it the more I rewatch it. While other drama leads easily break up and get angry because of misunderstanding, their trust for one another is what keeps bringing me back to watch it.

While others have said the male lead is controlling, the first time I thought that way too but it's understandable. He is afraid that she will disappear from him again. So he uses any reason whether it's the lawsuit or wanting his photo back to keep seeing her. His words are harsh but his heart has always been hers.

The two leads also acted well and this deserves a watch.

I don't know if it's because I read the synopsis and didn't really read the reviews (except just to clarify it did have a happy ending), I went into watching this with zero expectations. Boy was I completely surprised! Normally I strongly dislike flashback scenes, this drama was basically 2 dramas in one with the past and the present kind of being told simultaneously, but for some reason it didn't matter to me. Sometimes you just connect with a drama right off the bat and can't explain exactly why, that's exactly what happened watching this drama. From the first episode and all the sadness and brokenness that the characters portrayed I was hooked. The acting was great from both sets of leads (past and present, yes they did have different actors play the younger versions, so a bit confusing) and the story was fabulous, kinda makes me wanna read the book since I heard the book is even better. I really unexpected loved this drama, yes its a little emotionally heavy but it has its moments of comedy and happiness. I'm even thinking of re-watching the condensed 4 episodes, def recommend!

Silent Separation?

This is one of the books of teacher Gu. I didn't know that there was a drama. Tho I really like the novel I can't say that I like it irl too.

So many misunderstandings where they can just sit down and talk about it. Like seriously I want to lock them up so that they just let all the grievances they have with each other.

Kinda draggy and the second leads were so annoying. Not like in the Novel at all. Well some may say that just don't compare them but honestly there's an advantage too when u both read and watch it. Because sometimes the things you want to happen may not happen on the novel but happens on the drama. I just hope that some screenwriters also look into the reviews of netizens they might make the drama more interesting. 🙌🏻

Before I started this drama I saw a lot of negative reviews about it but as a great Wallace and Tiffany fan I decided to give it a go and I really don't regret it. The story is quite simple, it's about two college lovers separating and then reuniting after seven years and the female lead's past during that time is little complicated, but it's not something which stirs up too much drama. This is basically just a light and fluffy drama, though the fluff only comes after the first few episodes where I really get frustrated with our leads not communicating causing both of them to get hurt again but after we get through it it's a smooth sail. The male lead though is quite possessive but unlike others he never looses his cool and has a good rational thinking especially when the 2nd male lead tried some pretty despicable stuff to separate the couple. The secondary couples are cute though I really didn't care for the sister ,she annoyed me a lot as even when after she decided to get over herself she immediately decided to dive into her previous self so I couldn't care more about what happened to her.
The osts are really beautiful, my favorite is the opening song and it gives me a warm feeling.
So, for those who are looking for some solid plot and really gripping intense story, this is not your cup of tea.
This drama is basically a break from our daily workaday life where there is no complicated twists and turns and no misunderstanding that would lead us back to square one, so this drama will probably pull one out of the depression caused by tragic ending drama lol.

This is my third rewatch since I saw this drama in 2015 and I decided to write a review now. This is a very good romance drama that, although not perfect, it has a beautiful romantic story that started in college, suffers a 7 year hiatus, but remains strong and steadfast in the hearts and souls of the leading couple. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has great chemistry. I must say that the leading young couple [Luo Yun Xi (as He Yi Chen) and Janice Wu (as Zhao Mo Sheng)] at the beginning of the drama did a phenomenal job playing the leading characters and beautifully paved the path for Wallace Chung (as He Yi Chen) and Tiffany Tang (as Zhao Mo Sheng) to continue the wonderfully played love story. The supporting cast did well also and Viola Mi (as Xiao Xiao) and Eric Le Yang (as Lu Yuan Feng) were fun and refreshing to watch. The OST is great! Overall, although there are some annoying and not so well develop issues in the drama, mostly the invalid divorce and English “speaking” characters, the drama excel in the romance plot execution. Enjoy it!

Although this show could be very frustrating (why couldn't they just TALK to one another?!), the acting was very good and made it worth it. I really enjoyed some of the nuances of the characters. WC was very intense, and the actors for the college years were great.

If the show drags for you, you can always switch to the condensed version of the show, which tightens the story line up.

Overall, a very solid 7 for me, mostly because of the acting by WC and supporting cast.

Story started out very great. But then towards the middle it was confusing somewhat because it lacked character development such as what was Yi Chen thinking about? What was the reason why he did that or how did he over come that? For Mao Sheng she needs to clear up with both sides of the story but kept it closed. She didn't want to say anything or so. Acting was great but they all just lacked more character development and I believe that when I watched his drama it was rushed towards the end when Mr Ying gave up so easily or so. If the episodes were brought out with more detailed scenes I would give it a higher ranking.

THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!

I was craving for romance drama in which the couple being separated for yrs and yet accidentally meet again in the future but the feelings towards each other still same. NOW I FOUND IT! even though 8 yrs late (cause I watch it in 2023).
it started off very good, and gradually went much better. the ML ain't yelled at FL due to her leaving 7 yrs ago, instead he kept chasing after her and treating her well. I adore him for being wise (bcs hes lawyer), smart, famous, firm, cool in front of others but clingy and sweet with FL. Besides he won't easily believe what ppl say, he initiate on investigating the problem in his way. Hence there's no such big misunderstanding after they reunited again. He's very determine to start a new life with FL and thanks God, FL doesn't push him away many times.
the FL's also good at portraying her role. She's feeling shy in the first place, but going crazy along with him forward.

the 2nd and 3cp, and other support roles are doing great. I frequently laugh at their silliness😭
I didn't expect I can binge watch it in 2 days since I think it has many eps. yet trust me, you won't feel time running while watching it.

THE KISSES ARE FABULOUS!! this one of the important aspect of romance dramas HHEHEE

Her personality change

So for those who mention her personality difference between now and before : have you ever had your heart crushed when young?
I had my heart crushed many times, young and old and I can tell you : it shapes you into a different person.
According to some reviews she becomes her self when she's back with him : because her heart is restored.

I had my heart crushed forever and nothing will be restored. I'm a total different person.
When you lose a loved one, that's what it does.

I'm at episode 6 and enjoying it so far.
